0HRPOSITION Hierarchy creation

Dear gurus.
Due to a business needs we must upload into BW a hierarchy based on HR positions (IO 0HRPOSITION). The hierarchy is so huge so we wouldn't like to create it manually.
Looking at the transaction RSA5 I don't find any standard extractor to upload the hierarchies for 0HRPOSITION.
Do you know a ease way to create a extractor for hierarchy? or how could I proceed in this case?

There is NO standard extractor available for 0HRPOSITION hierarchies .
In source system (ECC/R3) use tcode GS01 to create hierarchy sets. Then check following link.
(I used GS01 to created hierarchy sets in Finance area. Pls check whether u can do it for this)

N-level approvala & Hierarchy creation..

We are using SRM 5.0 ( ECS) . I have a little doubt for the Hierarchy creation. Is it possible to assign a group inside any other group? I am trying in PPOMA_BBP but it is showing a warning message. Is it possible to assign group inside in any group?
I am facing a problem with N- level Approval for Bid Invitation. 2 level approval is working fine, but I want 3 Level approval for Organization. But I am getting only 2 level approval when I am assigning Group within Group. For that I have implemented a badi for BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI~GET_REMAING_APPROVERS. In this badi I am assigning 3 users in APPROVAL_TABLE internal table. But instead of 3 I am getting 2 Approval level.
Please suggest me.

Our Business scenario is we have controlling area 1000, under that we have cost center Group as ABC lower level to that we create each business wise in lower level like 1100, 1200, 1300 under this we create 110010 for production 110020 employee 110030 dummy so on, by mistake the client has created 1400 below level to 1000 now all cost center amount is booked in this is reflecting in 1400 and as well in ABC now I need to move all 1400 cost centers below ABC please let me know how to go about this.

So, if it's standard hierarchy go to OKEON and just drag-and-drop this group under ABC; simple as that. In KSH2 (if it's 'alternative' group) the technology of moving is different, but still quite obvious: select the group you want to move and select the new placement.

Time dependent hierarchy creation in R/3.

I know you can do it in BW. Any ideas on how to do it R/3? Do we have any existing functionality we can leverage in R/3 for creating and maintaing time dependent hierarchy.
Any ideas or documentation will be helpful?

Dimension hierarchy creation

Does exist best practices for creation of dimension hierarchy based on table like
CAT_ID,PARENT_CAT_ID,CATEGORY_NAME where hierarchy tree might have different number of levels:
level1-level2
root -- level1-level2-level3
level1

Thaks for your answer, I already read those articles. Actually question was about creating in OBI of hierarchy which has different number of child levels like this:
Organization - Division1-> Division1.2->Division1.3
- Division2-> Division2.1->Division2.2->Division2.3
Number of parent divisions under Organization is unlimited (Siebel model) and in table on which hierarchy is based not denormalized.

DRM Hierarchy creation

Hello,
I wanted to know how to create DRM hierarchies. I have the DRM document but unable to exactly figure it out.
Also, what are the key Blender, Import and Export profile settings/configs.
I understand this is a broad question but I am looking for a few key points. I am especially interested in understanding the creation of DRM hierarchies. Can anyone tell me where I can find the info in the DRM document?

Hi there,
My advice is to use the 124 paged PDF DRM Workbook guide which has exercises and answers at the bottom of the doc. That will make sure you knw where to find all the buttons you need when working with DRM. But to implement a successfull repository you will need someone who has worked with the software already who will guide you on why you're building things the way you're building them.
The blender is used to blend new imported hierarchies with the already existing hierachies in your system
e.g Income Statement (already existing)
Income statement - updating accounts (new import) then you blend the new one with the old one to make one hierarchy.
Imports and exports have no settings, you must have a data file with your hierarchies (Parent - Child kind of a structure) in order to run an import. Once you have data in your system then you can perform Exports. Its a straight forward NEXT NEXT NEXT type of a process.

Essbase Studio Alternate Hierarchy Creation error

Hi All,
I'm using Essbase Studio to create an alternate hierarchy. I have a dim which has shared members and I'm getting the following error msg during cube deployment:
1. Record #1- Member Name (SKU) already used i.e. the member for which I m trying to create shared member
     I m following the same procedure mentioned in the user guide i.e.
        Step1: create a copy of the dimension element that you want to designate as a shared member(Renamed SKU_copy with SKU_Diet). By making a copy, the binding expression for this element is the same as the original dimension element (SKU_Diet).
       Step2: when you create the second hierarchy in the chain, which is the alternate hierarchy, add a user-defined membas the parent and add the new dimension element (SKU_Diet) as the child, which will be the shared member.
     Even I m able to see the shared members (SKU_Diet) under user defined member "Diet" under the preview window (both by key binding and caption binding) as wel..
     But I m unable to see the shared members in EAS console after deploying the cube from Essbase Studio to EAS Console.
I m not able to understand what I m missing exactly,.and suggest me other ways as well for creating alternate hierarchies in Essbase Studio.

Customer Hierarchy creation

Hi all,
I encounter a problem when trying to create a Customer Hierarchy in CRM, in the tcode BPH , I enter the hierarchy category as pricing , but i got the error
You cannot create hierarchy trees of this category
If the delta download for the ERP customer hierarchy is active, you cannot create a hierarchy tree of the category "Pricing" in CRM.
For this reason, you should establish that pricing based on the customer hierarchy and BP group hierarchy gives the same results in the ERP System and in CRM".
But I did not understand what does it mean, could anybody throw me a light?

Have u pulled all the Pricing related Tables from ERP to CRM.
It has a dependency because pricing works on Customer Pricing Procedure and Document Pricing Procedure .

PDS Hierarchy creation

Hello all:
I need to create a PDS Hierarchy so that when I go in and update the orders on my product hierarchy and then disaggregate down to the product, it will pick the appropriate PDS to apply them to. However, I cannot figure out how I can create this PDS Hierarchy. We used to use PPMs and I see how I can create essentially a "fake PPM" to set up the hierarchy, but I do not know how to create this high level PDS which will have my lower level PDSs assigned to it. All my PDSs are auto-created via a CIF from ECC.
Any ideas? I have found all kinds of information saying I have to have a PDS Hierarchy, but none of it tells me to get this hierarchy created.

I do have that created already. However, when trying to add the Node (Level 1) in order to add the Members (Level 2), that is the issue. The dropdown in the first blank white space block above, points to choices of existing PDSs. And it won't let me create a new one. So in essence:
Hierarchy "Test" (Level 0)
PDS Hierarchy Header (Level 1) (this is the issue)
PDS Members (Level 2) (these come from CIF'ed PDSs
I have all my others created like this:
Hierarchy "Product" (Level 0)
Product Header "A100" (Level 1) I created this product (/sapapo/mat1) to hold the data
Product Members "product 1, 2, 3 etc" (Level 2) chosen from CIF'ed Materials.
Any ideas?

Go to RSA1 >> search the infoobject >> go to the hierarchy tab page >> on the hierarchy tab page , whether or not the characteristic can have hierarchies and if so ,what properties these hierarchies are allowed to have .If with hierarchies indicator is set ,hierarchies can be set manually for this characteristic ( tcode : RSH1) .Alternatively they can be loaded from the SAP system or other source system.
Characteristic hierarchies can be used in different hierarchy versions.There are diffrent types of hierarchies :
Version dependent hierarchy
Time dpendent entire hierarchy
Hierarchy intervals
Press F1 in each type you will get the details.......

Customer Hierarchy Creation by using Flat file

I am trying to create Customer hierarchy (Transaction - BPH), from flat fileu2026
Here, I find like BPH transaction using FM u2018BUPA_HIERARCHY_SAVEu2019 to create hierarchyu2026
Nowu2026 I want to do same thing through Flat file and my file contains below information
First section:
1. Hierarchy Category
2. Hierarchy Tree
3. Tree description
Second section:
BP ID information likes u2013
1. ABC (Higher level BP) u2013 First node
2. XYZ (Next level BP) u2013 Second node
Here, I want to create customer hierarchy with header details (given in first sections) and need creates nodes (given in second section),
Can any one tell me in which way I need to pass data to FM to create hierarchy?

Regarding hierarchy creation from sql tables using db / ud connect

bw version 3.0 upgrading to 7.0
sql version 2005.
we had built a sql data mart which is being accesses by a number of reporting tools. BI is one of the systems connected to it. My requirement is to upload hierarchies like customer from the sql data mart in to BW.
The sql tables are in a denormalized format like this,
EMPLOYEE_ID LAST_NAME                 MANAGER_ID      LEVEL
        101 Kochhar                          100                             1
        108 Greenberg                        101                            2
        109 Faviet                           108                                3
They say that all third party reporting tools will recognize the above format and it universal. <b>I wanted to know is there any setting in bw that will allow extraction of hierarchies from the above table format ? if not I can only think of arranging data in the format of BW transfer structure, similar to flat file load.</b>
I want to know can I upload hierarchies from sql tables or should I create flat files from tables ?

generate datasource? see if this can help..
RSA1-> SOURCE SYSTEM-> SELECT YOUR SOURCE SYSTEM-> RIGHT CLICK-> GENERATE SOURCE SYSTEM.

Hierarchy creation and loading

Hi all,
I am new to BW and trying to learn Hierarchies.
for example i have created
ZREGION
ZZONE1,ZZONE2,ZZONE3
ZAREA1
So i want all these infoobjects to be under an order like zregion will be having zzone1, zzone2, zzone3 and again these will have zzarea1 under zzone1
so i have created all these infoobjects in BW then how to get them in the order i have mentioned above.
and also when doing reporting can i just drag characterstic ZRegion into the rows and all the structure should be displayed.
plz letme know how to create the heirarchy.
and also i have a doubt of loading them.

Hi Aby,
i have went into change mode of my infoobject zregions
and in that i have selected with hierarchies
so do i first need to add my other infoobjects in the external heirarchies and then go to the maintain heirarchies tab and make changes...like when i get into the maintain hierarchies tab without adding the external hierarchies i am not able to insert any characterstics, after inserting the infoobjects in the external hierarchies then only i could use the push button insert characterstic as a node....
what is the difference of external hierarchies and this maintain heirarchies.
