1 gb of patches in feb????
did we get 1gb of patches last night? Between Windows and Office I show 37 important ones for 1,050MB
My whole network has been swamped for the last 2 hours, it looks like patching is responsible
Hi,
I checked my Windows 8.1, it also has bunches of updates need to be installed, it's normal. The size of the updates is different depending on your settings, including important updates, optional updates, updates for other Microsoft
products.
kindly suggest you wait for some time to finish the patches.

Latest Patch cluster (Feb 11, 2010) unable to run in Single user mode.
Hi ,
This is my first post in this forum.
Hope you people will help to resolve the issue.
My issue - I have downloaded the latest patch cluster (Feb 11, 20100) and tried to install it from single user mode.
Nothing happened. I have waited for more than 30 mins, still no progres.
Then I killed the process, and tried to run it in Multi user mode (To verify any issue with extraction or file) -- Its working(and killed the process) !!!
Anyone facing this strange issue ?
Appreciate your help to complete the patching.
Thanks.
sas.Hi,
If you're encountering issues with a patch cluster bundle your best bet is to contact [email protected] From the description it sounds like there may be a filesystem not mounted in SUM that the cluster is trying to patch. -

[Feb 18, 2012 8:39:08 AM] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------There were errors with the file verification after the copy , for some reason. I don't know why it would have coughed on the two files oraagent.bin and oracleacfs.ko, but Oracle Support and google seaches didn't come up with anything. I plan to manually try an opatch apply instead of the oaptch auto, but while I do so, does anybody have clues for correctly applying this PSU?To update this thread, I ended up speaking to Oracle Support on this. It turned out that one of the prerequisites in the README was the culprit:
2.1.4 Unzipping the PatchThe patch application requires explicit user actions to run 'opatch auto' command on each node of Oracle clusterware. So, it is recommended that you download and unzip the patch in a shared location to be able to access it from any node in the cluster and then as the Grid home owner execute the unzip command. To prevent installation failures, this location should be an empty directory.
Note:
Do not unzip the patch in the top level /tmp directory.
The unzipped patch location should have read permission for ORA_INSTALL group in order to patch Oracle homes owned by different owners. The ORA_INSTALL group is the primary group of the user who owns the GI home or the group owner of the Oracle central inventory.>
In my example, I had unzipped to /tmp. However, the resulting error message stack didn't really point that out.
When I double-checked the README and tried again from /home/oracle/patches/p13348650 instead, it worked. It doesn't leave me with a confident feeling, more just relief. On a related note (and the entire reason for me patching to 11.2.0.3.1), ACFS filesystems ARE supported now under Oracle 5 update 7 with the 2.6.32-200.13.1.el5uek kernel (you had to really dig through the matrix in 1369107.1). Had this not worked, I would had to fail back to the non-UEK kernel to achieve ACFS. -

Nokia S/W Updater V1.3.0en not working
Hi ppl
The latest version of the Nokia S/W updater or rather the firmware updater is not working..... The application crashes everytime it is started.... Trying to use older versions of the S/W is of no use as a message from the updater insists on installing the new version for usage.
Are any of u facing the same problem?
If there are any patches to this problem pls post the patch.11-Feb-2007

thanx for the reply buddy! Tried out each and every step you had mentioned BUT OF NO AVAIL. The same old CRASHING problem with this version of the application. Things have only become worse this time. The new USB drivers do not seem to accomodate connectivity to my phone
My mobile's firmware version is as follows
V 5.0609.2.0.1
01-03-2006
RM-84
I have an update for my firmware and that would be
V 5.0638.2.0.2
Could you please give any additional inputs on the same.
thanx once again for the previous reply.
Did you try and summon some System Information in Nokia PC Suite? To do this, go to Help and click About Nokia PC Suite (sometimes just About...) Then, in the dialogue that appears, click the "System Information" button, and check whether either the "Cable Connectivity Drivers" or the "PC Connectivity Suite" is installed. One of those should be installed at least. If both show NOT INSTALLED, something is going wrong in the recognition of the signatures within the package. This is quite a bit of a technical explanation, but it comes down to the fact that one or more of the registry hooks aren't created in the right way, which would then cause Nokia PC Suite to assume the drivers not to be present.
By the way, can you use other Nokia PC Suite Applications without problems? I'd suggest you try Nokia Content Copier (menu item may be called Backup & Restore). If this application does work, then the drivers should be OK. If the phone isn't recognised at all, please try to connect the phone to a different physical USB port on the system. You might want to connect it directly to a USB port on the back of the PC, so as to rule out the problem being caused by any non-powered USB hub. Please note that ANY USB connector on the front of a PC is referred to as a USB Hub, because they are not located directly on the system's circuit board.
I'd think that, previously, you were able to connect the phone to any old USB port on your system, as you should be. The above step of connecting the phone to a totally different USB port is to check that there are no conflicts being caused by the sloppy way in which Windows sometimes tends to deal with USB Device Management. Windows detects each device on each USB port. This means that, should you connect a device to port A at first, it will be detected. If you connect the very same device to port B the next time, then it will be detected AGAIN, as opposed to the way *Nix deals with these situations: the device's connection parameters will be re-used, instead of the device driver being installed twice.
I'd suggest that, if you seem unable to use Nokia PC Suite at all (i.e. your phone is not recognised), you try to use a different port. If the problem still persists and you do have the option to use a different PC for this time, please try whether you CAN get NSU to work on that PC. If you don't have this option, and your phone becomes usable again but NSU still crashes, please post the EXACT message with which the system crashes, and state a crash type (i.e. BSOD, Microsoft Error Report, Nokia error code, etc...).
BSODs shouldn't be occurring in your case, as BSODs generally tend to be caused by genuine driver and/or hardware conflicts or issues with memory.
I hope you will be able to get on with what I wrote in this post; it seems to be really frustrating sometimes...Message Edited by csteelooper on 11-Feb-2007

Is Direct2D (re. GPU) installed on my computer ?
My computer: Thinkpad T-520, purchased from Lenovo in Feb. of 2012.
O.S.: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit
On "patch Tuesday" Feb. 2014, Microsoft released a security patch re.: "Direct2D Memory Corruption".
This patch has not appeared in my list of Windows Updates for the month of Feb. or March.
I discovered it because every day I check the list of vulnerabilities (for all major companies) that are published
Mondays through Fridays by Secunia.
I have already proven that Windows Update is not correct 100% of the time: I refer you to its inability
to provide to my computer the long-standing update for "Microsoft XML Core Services". See the article
"Why Microsoft XML Core Services is the most exposed program on private PCs for 11 months running",
Oct. 31, 2013, on the website of Secunia (an IT security/Vulnerability Assessment/Patch Management
company) at "http://secunia.com/blog/why-microsoft-xml-core-services-is-the-most-exposed-program-on-private-pcs-f...
In this case, my computer was factory-installed with MSXML Service Pack 2 .
"But in the case of MSXML, patches are only offered for MSXML Service Pack 3. Since older MSXML Service Packs are considered End-of-Life, users are not being offered patches as they normally would."
If not for my checking of Secunia's reports, I would not have discovered that my computer had a security hole. (The link to the article is still present on Secunia's home page.)
The Microsoft advisory does not mention any provisos or exceptions regarding its applicability to
computers with W~ 7. My factory-installed Lenovo User Guide makes mention of "Direct3D", not 2D.
My search of the Lenovo website (Support, Forums, and overall) yields a few references to Direct2D,
and alot of references to Direct3D, but nothing specific to whether or not I have one, both or neither on my
specific computer. An article at a Mozilla Firefox Support webpage suggests that the browser's "Use hardware acceleration WHEN available" box is ticked (check-marked) by default WHEN Firefox detects that one's O.S. has the requisite software and/or hardware. The box is NOT ticked in my case.
The circumstantial evidence suggests that Direct3D, not Direct2D, is installed on my computer. However, I would rather be certain.
SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTION:
In my Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit)'s Tools / Internet Options / Advanced / Acceleration Graphics, the option
"Use softw. rendering instead of GPU rendering" is un-ticked (not check-marked) by default. Once I get the security
update issue resolved, should I choose the "GPU rendering" option ?
Thank-you for your help in resolving this question. The second ling I gave you stated:
"Only the content that is stored in the backup will be restored back to the device after the update is complete. Attempting to do this may result in iTunes alerting you with the following message:"\"
Since the apps are not part of the backup the iTunes makes, the apps will not be on the iPOd after the update if the apps are not in the iTunes llibrary. -
SBS 2008 Security report not showing correct status after Feb patch cycle
Hello,
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this strange problem which has occurred after February patch cycle. On the SBS detailed report that comes through, the security section is showing as RED error. Though
if you look at the detail, each section is listed as green compliant. Not sure why this has happened? Has anyone else seen this before?
Many thanks,Hi,
Can you provide me the detailed information about the patch you installed before the issue occurred? Have you tried to uninstall the patch and reinstall it again to see if the same issue persists?
In addition, please also try to repair the monitoring and reporting feature to see if it could resolve the issue.

Best practice for patching ( Feb 2014 CU) of Project Server 2010
Hi,
Please advise.
Thanks
srabonHi,
My current environment is,
# VM -1 (Project Server 2010) Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft SharePoint and Project Server 2010 SP1
- Configuration Database Version 14.0.6134.5000
- Patch installed - KB2767794
# VM -2 (SQL Server 2008 R2)
Now my plan is,
- Taking Snapshot for the VM-1
- Should I also take VM snapshot for VM-2 ?
- Taking Farm Backup
- Taking /pwa site collection backup
For your information I do see in your articale MS says that I may have SP1 or SP2 before running this patch but you mentioned I have to have SP2 as well ?
Fyi....
Prerequisites
To install this cumulative update, you must have one of the following products installed:
Microsoft Project Server 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Please advise if I miss something in my plan.
Thanks

MS15-10 kb3013455 Feb 15 Patching Font issues
Please let us know if any one has faced issues on Terminal servers for Font issues after installing MS15-10 - KB3013455 Feb15 Patch
Resolution and font issues, is there a fix for this
We had issues after installing this patch in our environment, had to uninstall
OS Details
Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 Enterprise without Hyper-V
6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002
32 bitThere's a patch now: KB3037639. At the moment it's only available from the download center. Search for:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/Results.aspx?q=kb3013455&form=DLC
The Download link will offer two updates instead of one. KB3013455 is the original patch; KB3037639 fixes the font problems that the other causes. You have to download it for each version (Vista/Server
2008/x86/x64). Thanks to the MVPs on
this thread who kept everybody posted.
NOTE: If you uninstalled KB3013455, you'll have to reinstall it, then install KB3037639; the second patch only fixes the font problem, not the original security issue. -
KB2912390 from Microsoft crashes Firefox in Feb Patch Tuesday. It did not crash IE9.
Would just send a crash report to Firefox. Would open in safe mode
SuperMicro C7P67 motherboard
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
16 gigs Crucial memory
Nvidia GTX 570 video card 1.2 gig memory
Two 1 gig WD Black hard drivesSolved the problem. When Microsoft upgraged me to IE 10 which screwed up my computer, Microsoft installed KB 2670838. KB 2912390 updated this fix and caused Firefox to crash. When I uninstalled KB 2670838 and hid that update, the problem went away and I am back browsing in Mozilla's arms.

sandeep.Hi,
i dont understand why path is changing
E:\inloc\ILP\patch\6410725\backup\patch / 115 / sql
1)did u give correct path of patch directory when installing patch?
2)are u installing the patch from inside the patch directory?if not do it and check
3)give full permission to everyone on the patch directory
Regards

So how can i proceed from the current scenario....?
How to make these environment files visible..?
I feel may be this because of improper $ORACLE_HOME path..?
Whether I have to apply the patch again..?
Please suggest..
Best regards...
