10.1.0.4181 won't stop trying to load, and now the Calendar won't sync

Hello, my Q10 upgraded to 10.1.0.4181.
1) BB Link trying to upgrade and it's already done. I turned off the auto upgrade but that hasn't fixed it.
2) Now my local Calendar entries won't sync to Outlook. I restored from the backup taken just before the upgrade, but still no calendar entries. I don't want to put my private info on the cloud.
I've read other threads on issues with 10.1.0.4181 but haven't seen anything on how to fix my device. Any suggestions?

Glad you found the answer. But something seems wrong. FCP should be able to assign the scratch disk to your startup drive. It's not advisable, but it should be possible. You might want to try and figure out what's going on before what ever's going on cause other problems.

Mom used comp....and now the dock won't appear

Hi,
My mom used my scanner/printer recently and when I went onto my comp to use it there was a dialogue box that I couldn't click out of so I restarted it and now the dock won't appear when I hover at the bottom of the screen.
I had a similar problem this summer when I turned of the comp and moved it into another room to find that my desktop wallpaper had disapeared and I still havn't been able to reload it.
Can someone help me figure out what's wrong? Thanks in advance

10.6.8 update crashed before it completed and now the Finder won't launch

This morning I was installing the update on my 25" iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (was at 10.6.7) and after almost 15 minutes of the installer claiming to be moving files around, the screen went blank except for being backlit. After few minutes of pondering what to do, I restarted the computer and the "Finder quit unexpectedly." message started and all my iMac wants to do is have me send thousands of reports to Apple. I tried the safe restart and nothing changed expect the process number in the reports restarts in the low hundreds.
I have LOTS of applications on my dock and while most of the Apple applications (Safari, Disk Utility, etc.) crash upon launching, a few applications don't (Firefox takes a few minutes to crash while Chrome seems okay enough for me to send this report). The "About this Mac" claims that 10.6.8 is installed, so Software Update claims there are no updates, so I can't use that to reinstall the update (I'm not sure I should even if I could).
Because I cannot do is relaunch the Finder from either the Dock or via the "Force Quit" command I can't reinstall 10.6.8 via the. I can open a terminal window but I'm not sure what to do with that to get me out of this situation. I downloaded the combo update but without the Finder running, I don't know how to launch it via the a terminal window. Any suggestions welcomed.

I've got my Mac back!
Even though the Finder wasn't running, because I had populated my Dock with dozens of applications, I was able to launch the Terminal app and open a window. From there I was eventually able to launch the Installer, point it at the 10.6.8 Combo Update (for some reason, fortunately, I had downloaded it rather than letting Software Update do it), and wait at least 30 minutes when the installer claimed that there was less than 1 minute left to complete the install. After it was done and I restarted the Mac, it no longer insisted that I needed to send/ignore thousands of "Finder quit unexpectedly." messages and the Finder was running.
BTW, towards the end of the installation (or re-installation), the Finder began to function (my desktop icons appeared and I could open folders) and now the only remaining issue is the Menu Bar won't appear unless I click the Finder in the Dock.

I can't find where to delete that email login. iCloud is also showing my new email login, plus a bogus one I accidentally created trying to fix this problem. Now the calendar on my MacBook Pro won't sync with my iPhone5.

It sounds like you have the Find my iphone Activation lock for sure. Go to www.icloud.com/find and see if you put in that Apple ID that is coming up and yoru password to see if you are able to sign into the account that way to turn it off. If you are unable to, you will have to contact AppleCare by phone (chat cannot handle account lock outs or forgotten password due to not being able to verify your identity) and see if they can reset it. And are you sure the Apple ID that is coming up yours?

HT4367 just bought an apple tv and updated it and now the light won't stop flashing... even after i tried to restore via itunes and all i got was a unknown error message... hey apple you guys have a fix for this?

I just got an apple tv and it dosen't work at all. I tried to use the home share feature with my iMac and both devices don't see each other, yet they are o the same network. I am not using a apple router. I tried updating the apple tv to see if that would resolve the issue but now the status light just blinks rapidly. I tried using itunes restore it but all i get is an unknown error. So with all of this said what is the fix apple?

Before the process was complete, I received an error message saying I had to "restore" my iPhone before it would work with iTunes. Even more importantly, and troublesome, is the fact that now my phone won't even work at all. I can't turn the iPhone on, and all the screen shows is the iTunes icon with a picture of the white power cord. Can someone advise if there is a way to update the software without restoring my iPhone, which will cause me to lose everything on the phone (much of which I have not backed up yet)? My iPod touch is being unresponsive. I accidentally dropped it screen down and now when I go to slide to unlock it, it won't work. I've tried numerous times at resetting it, holding the home and sleep/wake button until it resets, with no luck. The Wi-Fi isn't even connecting. And the notification pull down screen and the pull up screen isn't present either. Would really like to know what is wrong with it. Thanks.

Try the following but you likely have a hardware problem:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Tried updating to the new IOS and now the phone won't work, suggestions?

I tried to update the newer version of IOS on my Iphone 4S. After the update an Itunes icon and the adapter appeared on my screen.
I tried restoring the phone but it erased all of my data and now I can only take calls. I can no longer make calls and or send or receive text.
Any suggestions, or should I just take it to an Apple Store?

That picture is trying to tell you that there is a problem and you must connect it to your computer and restore with iTunes to fix it.

I'm not someone who jumps to leave a negative review, and this is the first time I've ever, ever done it. I left a negative because I think it's wrong to misrepresent a product. Ever since leaving the feedback, the seller has contacted me every day, sometimes twice, telling me to change my review. I'm not changing it. I left an honest review. The end. I want no further contact with this seller. How do I make them stop emailing me?

Well, I'm sorry to hear that you had a crummy experience with this transaction. Sometimes, if you let a seller know ahead of time that you are unhappy with your item, they might make amends, but it is completely within your right as a buyer to expect to get the item you bought the first time around so..... Assuming the messages are coming via ebay messages and not your personal email, you'll have to sit down at a desktop or open a web browser on your phone and log into your account. Go to your Messages. On each one, there should be a section at the bottom that looks like what I have attached below. Go to the Report an inappropriate email and follow the instructions. Do this for EVERY message that you've been sent by this person. I don't know what good it ever does but this is what you can do. Report them. For each message sent. When a seller makes a Feedback Revision request, they are warned by ebay NOT to harass the buyer to do comply. The seller really should know better than to do this to you. I too have a problem with unwarranted and unwanted messages from a fellow ebay member (not a customer) who has been reported by me to ebay multiple times and long-ago blocked but still has somehow managed to circumvent it to continue to contact me. In the most recent message, he suggested I have marital relations with a pig. He also told me he has run out of his meds. I don't reply to something like that. I would suggest you not either with this seller. Eventually, someone else will leave bad feedback for this seller and you'll be off the hook. Good luck as you carry forward.
