10.6.2 Bricked my iMac

My compy ( late 2006 , Intel 17" iMac -BT) worked like a charm on 10.6.1, yesterday I upgraded to 10.6.2 and had no issue during the installation, when the computer restarted my BT keyboard and mouse would not connect ( I am stuck at "enter password" screen), that did happened before so I tried using USB mouse , and nothing USB ports are not working ( mouse works fine with my work laptop). So I tried the SMC reset, I unplugged the computer and all other peripherals for 30 sec+ and nothing, USB port still does not work. I will try today with a USB keyboard and I will try to boot from the SL DVD but I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thanks,

Restore the bootable backup/clone of 10.6.1 or its Time Machine backup and give the update another go. I disdain wifi input devices, so have nothing to offer on that count, but a PRAM/NVRAM reset detailed in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 might fix that issue.

  • Assassin's Creed and Boot Camp bricked my iMac!

Okay, so it is not quite bricked, but it is very close, and I am at a loss. For the first time I have exhausted my knowledge and a series of Google searches and have come up short. Hopefully one of you guys can help. Sorry about how long this is, but I wanted to be as detailed as possible
    First, the hardware:
    27" iMac; OS X 10.6.2; 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo; 2GB RAM; GeForce 7600 (the $75 upgrade, if it maters)
    The Circumstances:
I have had Boot Camp installed with Windows XP for a about a year now, though I have had to reinstall Windows a number of times. Frequently this seems to have corresponded with playing Assassin's Creed, though this is maybe just a coincidence.
Most recently, (about a week ago) I installed Windows XP Black Edition, hoping it might fair a bit better, and everything ran well. Two days ago I booted up Assassin's Creed, and everything was fine until today. I was playing the game, paused it, got up, and when I came back the computer was frozen with a mess of garbled checkers displayed on the screen.
    The Problem:
I rebooted into Windows, and it locked up on a similar checkered screen.
I booted into Mac and it locked up during the grey apple logo.
I booted to the INSTALL DISC and it STILL froze during the grey apple logo.
HOWEVER, it will allow my to hold down option and pick which start disc I want it to freeze in, so it CAN access the firmware, but it CAN NOT get at either hard drive partition or the optical drive? All because it locked up during some game? Weird.
    What I Have Tried:
I have tried booting from multiple install discs (see above)
I have tried resetting the PRAM several times
I have unplugged every peripheral other than my keyboard and mouse
I have tried booting in Safe Mode
I have tried booting into Single User Mode (it WILL boot into this mode) and running the fsck -fy command
I have tried booting into Target Disk Mode (boots) and connecting it to my laptop, from which I ran a repair in Disk Utility: It completed successfully and said there were no issues.
    Other Clues:
It pretty much freezes up at the same point every time, right in the middle of the spinning wheel under the grey apple logo.
If I leave the computer the grey logo and pinwheel will disappear, leaving a just a grey screen.
Once it gave me the Kernel Panic screen instead of just locking up
If I boot in Verbose Mode the last couple lines before it freezes are:
Warning - com.apple.driver.InternalModemSupport declares no kernel dependencies; using com.apple.kernel.6.0.
    PeerGuardian log entries: 731 (40960)
However, sometimes verbose mode will switch to a blank grey screen rather than stick on those lines
Anyone got any ideas? Please? I hope.

    Quick correction: It's a 24" iMac, not a 27". I've been daydreaming I guess.

  • Updating to OSX 10.7.3 bricked my iMac.

While working on my iMac tonight it asked to reboot to install the OSX 10.7.3 update. I clicked reboot and after a few minutes it came up with a message that it needed a forced reboot as it was unable to install the update. I forced rebooted it exactly as it told me to do. Holding down the power button til it shut off and then to hit power again to start up the computer.
On reboot it got to the white screen with the gray logo and pinwheel and won't go any further. I left it for 3 hours to see what would happen and nothing changed. So I rebooted to the boot drive and fixed disk permissions and verified disk. It did come up with an error about catalog permissions and so I fixed the disk.
It still is sitting on the boot screen and won't go any further. This issue seems unrelated to some of other issues with the update and the MacBook Pro. I do have a backup from about 2 weeks ago but I had to unplug the external backup drive as it kept on giving me errors an flooding connection to the drive. I don't want to restore from backup if I don't have to.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do next?

I too, am no longer able to boot my MacBook Air after installing 10.7.3 via the Software Update system application.
It did install the update successfully, and prompted for a normal restart. After I restarted, I logged into my encrypted drive user account and then... long nothing. The grey circle spins and spins and eventually the Apple logo becomes a circle with a slash through it.
It appears that my only hope will be to restore from my last Time Machine backup and wait a very long time before trusting another Apple update again.

  • Umm....I think Apple TV just bricked my iMac :(

I was syncing my Apple TV for the first time to my iMac G5 when all of the sudden the Apple TV froze. I went to check the iMac, and found it to be tuned off. I thought that was pretty weird but just figured something odd had happened. I turned off the Apple TV and unplugged it from the network, then went and turned the iMac back on. It got up to the login window, then promptly turned itself right back off again. I'm starting to get a little worried at this point, so I change the power cord and try again. This time it let me log in, then died when the Finder loaded. I took it out of my surge protector and plugged it directly into a wall outlet. No change. I booted up in single user mode and ran fsck on it - the drive insists it's fine. I unplugged it and left it alone over night. This morning I got about 5 minutes out of it (enough time to get some recent data that I - like an idiot - hadn't backed up yet off) before it shut itself down once more.
So can anyone think of any way, shape or form Apple TV could have just killed my iMac? It's not even possible for it to have interacted with the power system management in OS X is it? If it had just hosed the hard drive inside the iMac why would it turn the power off? I thought I'd see if anyone here had any ideas before the inventible visit to my local Apple Authorized Service Provider

It could just be a coincidence. Which model do you have how to identify your iMac? Have you tried resetting the PRAM?
Please post back, depending on your model you might be eligible for either of Apple'sRev A and Rev B repair extension.

  • Re-formatting iMac's Corrupted Hard drive..Suggestions please

Because of a failed Optimisation I feel I now have to completely wipe, re-format and re-load OSX onto my iMac's internal HD, but never having done this before I want to make sure I don't end up in more of a mess then I am in right now! So I'd appreciate any advice as to the best way to go about this.
My iMac is a late 2009 27" and at present has OSX 10.8.5 loaded, ( loaded but with many miss-functions ). Prior to the problem the iMac was running OSX Lion, what version though I can't remember.I installed 10.8.5 the other day to see if that would fix things, but it hasn't. It was not a "clean install", just regular one from downloaded OSX 10.8.5.
I have run Disk Utility and TechTool Pro' 7 to try to make repairs to address the problems so far to no avail. Main problems are that my most used applications, FCP-7 Studio, Aperture and Photoshop CS5 amongst others, open but then immediately crash. I've reloaded the troubled applications, de-installed them properly with de-installation app's then clean re-installed them, but that's made no difference. They will not mount.
I reckon there must be a fault or corruption on the HD, probably caused during the Optimisation as everything was functioning well before I did that.
So, the only OSX install disks I have are the original disks that came with the iMac, OSX 10.6.2 and a Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD OSX 10.6. I do have the downloaded copy of OSX Mountain Lion that I pulled from the App Store the other day and that copy is now on an external USB / Firewire 800 HD.
As I said I would like to be able to clean off the iMac's internal 2tb drive completely and install a fresh newer OSX. If I first have to load OSX.6.2 then upgrade via the App Store that's fine, but I'd rather just go straight to Mountain Lion if possible. Whatever works best. Getting rid of any corruption on the iMac's HD is the prime motivation.
All my applications and files are backed up to a 2tb LaCie external drive. The iMac has approximately 900 gb's of content onboard and the rest is free / unused space.
I would very much appreciate all the help and suggestions as to how I can safely go about the wipe and re-installation of a fresh OS. I fear doing this without good advice I could very well "brick" the iMac!
    Thanks!
    PM

I would like to revert to OSX Lion. How can I do this,
Revert to a Previous OS X
would it be possible to install Lion on a separate partition
Yes. Boot into the Recovery Volume again and use Disk Utility to partition the disk.
Is the Installer in your Applications folder? That is where it downloads to. When you start it, you can point it at the new partition and install it there.

  • Installing 2 SSD's to 27" iMac 2011

    Hello everybody,
I've been for looking to upgrade my iMac by adding an SSD and i finally got comfortable enough with the idea of doing it so i went ahead and purchased a 256GB Samsung 840 pro to run OS X (mountain lion), now last minute i ended up purchasing an additional 128GB OWC SSD with the optical drive kit to add it as well to run windows on it.
I've been preparing myself to do this for a few months now by writing down a to do list with things I need to make triple backups of and what software i have to re-register and so on and I think I'm good to go.
My questions are mostly about getting everything installed since i want to do a fresh install of mountain lion on the SSD and migrating my data instead of restoring my time machine drive and i wanted to see if anybody here had done the same thing I'm about to do or something similar and maybe i could get some pointers from you guys. Here's what the set up would be like:
2TB HDD > this is the one I've been using and i want to use it now to hold my USER folder since i have large iTunes, iPhoto and Final Cut X libraries
256GB SSD > this one will have OS X and a few files that i use often which may include some Logic projects
128GB SSD > this one will replace the optical drive and will have windows 7 with bootcamp
3TB External > This one has my time machine backup, this will be my last resort in case something goes wrong and i have to restore to the 2TB HDD
2TB External > This one will have manually moved data, basically Jim going to copy my USER folder and Applications folder to this one so i can move the files from here to the internal 2TB after i have OS X installed on the SSD and i format the 2TB
Here's the game plan I have so far:
    1. Install both drives into the iMac
    2. Install ML to the SSD from the HDD
    3. Format the internal 2TB HDD
    4. Tell OS X that my users folder will now be on the HDD
    5. Move my USER folder files from the external drive into the new USER folder on the internal 2TB HDD
    6. Install Windows 7 with bootcamp from a USB drive.
    7. Format my TM backup and start a new backup for the new set up backing up only the OS X SSD and the HDD
    8. Enjoy my new Set up.
    My questions to you are:
    - Is the process I'm listing doable?
    - Can I install ML into the SSD before I format the HDD that currently has my OS or should I do the ML install with the USB drive method?
    - After telling OS X that my USER folder will be on the HDD, will iTunes, iPhoto and Final Cut X work ok if I just copy their respective folders into the new USER location?
    - Is there a better way to have my large libraries on the HDD than changing the location for the USER folder?
    - Have any of you ever done something like this successfully?
Any advice or suggestions will be VERY appreciated, I won't be starting this process until Friday at around 6pm EST since the Optical Drive Kit and SSD won't arrive until tomorrow and I want to spend the weekend getting things done.
This is my work computer (i work from home so it's my bread and butter) and I do a lot of media work including FCX, LOGIC and mainly Graphic and Web Design so getting this machine up and running as quick as possible is something very important to me and why I'm curious to know what you guys think
    Thank you in advance!
    ps. this is my machine as of right now: 27" 2011 iMac, 3.4GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, AMD 6970M, 10.8.2 (12C60)

My hope is you have seen the procedures ( either videos, photos and/ or wriiten instructions) for breaking down and installing new items into your iMac and reassembly.
Everything you are doing is not user serviceable or upgradeable.
Be advised if you purchased 3-year extended AppleCare, you will be voiding the remainder of your AppleCare and you will in your own if something goes wrong or something doesn't go right or you "brick" your iMac.
If you only has the initial year and you attempt this and something goes wrong you are still own your own.
We are all USERS here. Most of us have not cracked open their iMacs to upgrade them simply because iMacs are truly the most difficult, un-user-friendly and tedious iMac to hardware upgrade. Anything and everything can go awry There might be a small amount of users who have attempted what you are doing , hopefully, they will respond to your posts if something should go wrong.
    Good Luck!

  • Volume keys on wireless keyboard not working

I just re-installed Snow Leopard on my iMac (late 2009), and now the volume keys are not working any more. Now the volume down key brings up desktop, volume up brings up several gadgets... I can not upgrade OSx because somehow whenever I do it, it brick the iMac. So I have to figure something out without having to upgrade OSx. Any idea anyone? Thanks.

    Hello yinming,
That should be fixed if you can get your iMac up to date. Try downloading the Combo update and install it that way instead of the traditional way through Software Update. The link below will get you started with downloading the install file and then launch it to update.

  • Using "Find my iPhone" I mistakenly touched either Erase or Lock! What now???

My friend seems to have Locked or Erased his iMac!
When first started it asked for his PIN, but the iMac wouldn't respond to it.
('m now learning that the PIN that he used is the PIN to unlock his iPhone, as it didn't ask him to create a PIN.)
Now when I restart I'm brought to a screen which wants to know if I want to resotre from a Time Machine backup.?
I go down that road and find my Time Machine backup, but when given a choice of where to restore, his internal hard drive is not shown, only his SuperDuper backup drive. (at least he's well backed up.)
Is this like the iPhones are now, to prevent larceny, where it Bricks the iMac??
Certainly there has to be a back door, like using his Apple ID and password.
    What to do??

Did you boot OS X Recovery?
Using two fingers hold the ⌘ and r keys simultaneously while starting the Mac. Use Disk Utility to verify the disk's presence, partition and / or erase it if necessary, after which you can use Time Machine to restore it.
Is this like the iPhones are now, to prevent larceny, where it Bricks the iMac??
No, there is no OS X analog to iOS's Activation Lock, unless you are referring to an EFI Firmware Password. Use OS X Recovery to remove a Firmware Password if you configured one. If you forgot that password, only Apple will be able to help.
Is there a back door to open it up again?
The above is all there is.

  • Can I upgrade my 27in Mid 2011 2.7GHz's graphics card?

Can I upgrade my 27in Mid 2011 AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB 2.7GHz's graphics card to a AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz edition? If its possible that would be great. If any one can answer please do because i need to know.

You maybe able to have Apple techs install one of these GPUs.
    1 or 2 GB GDDR5 (Radeon HD 6970M)
Assuming Apple can still get the GPU, you can have them replace your current GPU, but the costs of the replacement will be out of your pocket.
It will be a few hundred Dollars to have them do the replacement.
AppleCare doesn't cover the costs of  upgrading/replacing existing/original components. Only free replacement and labor of existing hardware.
This is NOT something I recommend a novice or newbie Mac upgrader try as the newer aluminum iMacs are very details oriented and are tedious and finicky to work on and upgrade.
Lots of different fasteners, and small cables that can be damaged if one is not careful.
DIY work on a newer iMac is a task for even seasoned Mac hardware upgraders.
And if you do decide to try this on your own and you, inadvertently, "brick" your iMac, you'll be on your own.
You won't be able to have an Apple store repair what you have done . Apple will not be able to help you and repair the damage that could happen.

  • Hard drive replacement in iMac24 late 2006 to do by myself ?

THe question is , does it make any sense to instal SSD drive ? if not , what would be right choice HD .Thanks

Tearing down and reassembling an iMac is not for a newbie or novice.
Most seasoned Mac upgraders,  like myself, avoid working inside these newer iMacs.
There are lots of different fasteners and connectors to disconnect and reconnect. Some of the connections are delicate and finicky/fiddly.
If you damage something or connect up something wrong and brick your iMac for good, you'll be out of luck and looking to purchase another iMac.
    You have been warned.

  • I want to move a selection (a person) into an image of a brick wall and have it look like the person was painted on the wall. Can it be done? Using CC on iMac. Thanks

I want to move a selection (a person) into an image of a brick wall and have it look like the person was painted on the wall. Can it be done? Using CC on iMac. Thanks

Yes of course its Photoshop. Cut the person out copy to clipboard paste onto toe brick wall document  and texture the layer using a displacement map for the brick wall. Look for Photoshop tutorials on using a displacement map.

  • IMac bricked after enabling CD/DVD sharing in 10.5.2

After upgrading my aluminium 24" iMac to 10.5.2 I enabled CD/DVD-sharing just for the heck of it without getting round to trying it before trouble set in.
Later in the evening, apps started freezing for whatever reason and I decided to reboot. The iMac now hangs at the grey apple with a spinning gear below. Repeated restarts, resetting PRAM and power management make no difference.
Starting from the install DVD (c held down efter chime) has the same result: Acres of grey with apple and spinning gear. So no joy there.
Starting in target mode is possible - and amazingly, the install DVD still in the iMac turned up om my other computers' desktop
Running Disk Utility on the iMac's disk returns an error: "incorrect block count for file pcscd.pub (it should be 16 instead of 17)" which DU then claims to fix.
But no luck. Back to grey.
I can start the iMac in single user mode. fsck returns the same incorrect block count error and also claims to fix it, but after mounting / and exiting it loops and keeps returning an indecipherable (to me) error message. I'm away from the iMac right now, and I can't remember what it was ...
I have good backups so I'm quite prepared to wipe the **** thing and start over. But I can't get to do that: It doesn't see the install DVD, and with the iMac in target mode, the 10.5 installer (retail version) run from my other mac won't install on the iMac.
I'm guessing it's not a disk issue but some EPROM parameter connected with the CD/DVD-sharing that's the culprit.
    Any ideas?

You're quite right. And it would be in the spirit of the community and all do to just that and report back. But after finding that my backups - though complete - are not as well-ordered as I would have liked and at present being halfway through reestablishing a workable status quo, I'm no gonna bother . Sorry.
This way, I'll also know - if my iMac goes belly-up again - that the problem is probably caused by something else.
    /P
PS: I'm kicking myself for not thinking to try safe booting before doing the big wipe.

  • IMac practically bricked

About a month ago, my iMac started having erratic kernel panics. I thought they were just a glitch after upgrading to 10.5.6, but it persisted for about a week. The panics started getting worse and worse and before you knew it the iMac wouldn't even reach the login screen. It would freeze right there and force me into a shutdown loop. So I took it to the apple store and they looked at it, couldn't figure it out so they signed it in. After about 2 days they call me and say they couldn't find the problem. They were either going to ship it to factory for $900 USD or I take it back.
I've had no luck fixing it myself, but perhaps someone who's experienced this can give me some real advice.
    Thanks.
Oh, ~3 days before all this happened I installed an HP driver which crashed halfway through the installation.
I've erased my HD and tried to reinstall using the backup discs, but it keeps crashing or freezing up.

Obviously hardware. We can't help you.

  • Bricked iMac.  What's wrong with it?

My iMac has become the word's prettiest paperweight, and I don't know why. I am looking for any help diagnosing it.
Yesterday I was happily using the computer as usual when it suddenly froze. Total lock. Mouse would not even move. I had Safari and several Adobe apps open at the time.
I tried to reboot, but I got the gray screen of death instantly. So I erased the disk and reinstalled from the Snow Leopard CD. All seemed well. The time machine backup restored and I was back in business... For about half an hour. Then the same thing happened again.
This time I could reboot, and again the computer seemed to be working, but then it froze again, and this time when it froze the screen got all blocky and flickered. Reboot failed this time.
The problem kept getting worse, occurring with greater frequency. Sometime I got the flickering screen, sometimes it just froze.
To make sure it wasn't a virus or some software I had installed, I erased the drive and reinstalled without restoring from my backup. No good. It crashed within minutes. Then it crashed on a reinstall attempt. Now it won't boot up at all, even from the DVD. Gray screen of death immediately, no matter what.
It seems to me that this is obviously a hardware issue, but I don't know WHICH piece of hardware. Any ideas?

I could have told you that it wasn't the HDD. While I applaud the sentiment, there are a lot of people who don't really have a clue, but fancy themselves some kind of expert on these matters. I'm actually an ACMT, and have worked as one for about the last 2 years. My guess would be that the logic board crapped out, MAYBE the video card. If it had been the HDD, it would have almost certainly failed when you tried to reinstall the OS.
In either case, if it's the logic board or video card, you may as well just buy a new one. Getting an MXM video card won't be cheap, and it requires removing the logic board to install, so I'd really advise against the average person doing it. Unless you have a proper place to work on it anyway. Then if you want to take a stab at it, you can't make things too much worse.
If it's the logic board, then since the system is definitely out of warranty after you replaced the HDD yourself, may as well just buy a new one.
Do have to commend you on the attitude taken regarding this. None of the narcissistic "My Mac isn't perfect?!" whining you tend to get out of people here. Not to mention the unrealistic expectations that Apple sprinkles some kind of magic pixie dust onto systems that makes hundreds of individual parts made by dozens of different companies, somehow immune from normal manufacturing defect rates. Maybe when Apple was actually designing and manufacturing a lot of the hardware that went into their systems, but that stopped being the case like 20 years ago.
You're clearly not happy, but you've accepted there's nothing you can do, and moved on, as opposed to obsessing over it and expecting everyone to offer up their sympathies.
It's very refreshing to see someone handle this in a mature, adult, fashion, and I just want to extend my thanks for that.
And sadly, no, the display isn't something you're going to be able to salvage. As you may have noticed when replacing the HDD, it has a special proprietary video connector. Trying to rig up your own adapter probably would ruin the display long before you perfected it. Just sell the system for parts on eBay and put the proceeds towards a new system or even just some beer to have something of a wake for the system.

  • I bought a 27 inch iMac that I must constantly send to repairs. How do I get my money back?

I bought this imac at the end of last year.
After 3 months the screen started to get smudges all over the place, and since I work in video production, thats just something I cannot have.
I sent my computer to get repaired, and they replaced the screen. It's been 2 months, the screen is getting burned again, and now it crashes constantly, I get the "white screen of death", it doesnt boot up, then the screen starts to flickr like a strobe light. I try again, and then the screen turns all blue, like a blue screen you get using a windows based PC. Now I luckly managed to boot it up, and came straight here, and if I manage to finish this post without it crashing again its a great deal of luck.
I called the apple call centre, and they said that apple somehow managed to replace my screen with another defected one (yes, they actually told me that) AND that I probably also have a defected seagate hard drive that they are replacing in all the imacs bought from 2009 to 2012. They also said that its "weird" that they didnt replace it the first time it went to repairs.
I do all my work on this computer, and I can't manage to constantly be without it to send it to repairs, and that is probably whats going to happen, till my warranty voids, then I will be the proud new owner of a 27 inch brick.
Im extremely dissapointed at apple. I was willing to pay 2000 euros for a computer, because then I would "pay for quality" of the product, and get good service. Well the product obviously has severe problems, and the customer service is even worst. They told me all that ridiculous stuff that puts apple in a shameful position, and also shoved me aside to deal with my problem with someone else. They said the only way I could "try" and get my problem fixed, Is if I send an actual letter (because apparently people still do that) to the Apple Europe Headquarters in Ireland. I live in Portugal.
Before the apple europe headquartes in Ireland ask me to send a pigeon to the United States, I would like to say that i'm probably never going to buy products from Apple ever again. I'm not the only person with this problem, and people close to me are having exactly the same problems and feelings twords apple. If I get my money back, maybe I will still buy my music from iTunes, that at least hasn't given me any problems...yet..

I have some news on my situation, and some news on the problem of the screen itself.
First, this still could be wrong, but here is a possible explanation for the screen problem:
    http://www.hardmac.com/news/2011/04/05/investigation-of-the-marks-on-the-imac-sc reen
It seems that the mac is overly sensitive to dust, but the only dust that actually goes in, is a very thin kind that you have pretty much everywhere. Maybe the heat from the computer makes the dust stick or something, I don't know.
Anyway, I wen't to the store where I purchased my 27'' imac, and asked to talk to the manager (it's one of those big chain stores, like best buy, but in this case its called "Fnac"). Apparently I was terrebly missinformed by pretty much everyone, including "Fnac" employees. It appears that I am in fact protected by portuguese law, and everytime I get a new component replaced, I get a new 2 year warranty for it (in Europe you always get 2 year warranty for everything, instead of 1). And, after the 3rd attempt to fix a recurring problem, I can in fact demand the money back, or a replacemement new product. There is still some glitchy stuff on that matter though. The manager said there is this problem in pretty much in every retailer everywhere - there are 2 kinds of stores that sell apple products: there are those stores that are just intermidiates between apple itself and the customer, witch means that for every product they sell, they only own a small percentage of it; and there are those who buy apple products, to resell them to their costumers. On this second kind of stores (like Fnac, and probably BestBuy and such), where they resell, they have to give you the money back because the law says so (since they own the products they sell). But Apple on the other hand doesn't allow it. So basicly, they have to give me the money back or a new product first, and then ask apple for permission and hope for the best, because if they dont give permission, the store will loose the money the product is worth.
My problem is "kind of" solved though. Now I know that even in the worst case scenario, I can keep replacing the screens once or twice a year, witch is not really great because I'll not be able to work on it for around 2 months in every year. It's still bad for apple, and its sad that the ones who actually solved my problem was the europe consumer laws, the portuguese government, and the store. Apple, a company that at this moment makes more money then the united states, doesn't have a solution for me, and doesn't agree with the solutions the other ones gave me.
Thanks for all your help and opinions. They gave me some perspective.
I will still be on the lookout for more answers, and if anyone has the same problem I can use my experience to help them.
