10g installation error on Solaris 10 X86

Dear All,
i have downloded a 10g( solaris x86) from oracle site to install Solaris 10 x86..
After following installation document steps when i execute command ./runinsta follwing error occurs.

but there is sufficient space for /tmp.
Please suggest how to resolve issue.

10g installation error on AIX 5 64bit

Has anyone seen this problem before? tried to install 10g client on AIX 5.3, DISPLAY has been set and xclock can be displayed on the screen, but onece runInstaller a error came up and OUI didn't appear. the log file didn't show any error.

Most of the time when you get this error it means that the environment vaiables concerning oracle and java are not correct. verify your oracle_home oracle_base and JAVA_HOME are correctly defined. somewhere its not finding the items needed to run the installer correctly

Oracle 10g Installation Error on Windows 2008 server

Hi Experts,
I have tried to install Oracle 10g via "51036975 ORACLE 10.2.0.4 Failsafe Server 3.4.1.5 Windows 2008" as per note no. Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008. Server is 64 bit server.
Oracle service is not getting started and showing as "starting" in services.msc. I cant stop the service. I have taken the restart of the server as well but no luck.
Just before the end of installation of Oracle, one pop up box named isqlplussvc opened up stating as "Failed to start the service, Error:0, the operation completed successfully".
Can you please suggest how to handle this error and start the service?

Hi All,
Yes, I started with Failsafe server CD only. After trying installing Oracle couple of times, once the service didnt went into starting mode & it couldnt start as well. Then I started going ahead with SAP installation and later I found that the service got automatically started.
I was under the impression that the service has to be started before going for SAP installation.

Oracle 10g installation error

nevermind, I figured it out... I remembered that I plugged in the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID as environment varables before the installation last time. After doing that, the installation worked.
ORACLE_HOME=/blah/blah/blah;export ORACLE_HOME
and
ORACLE_SID=orcl;export ORACLE_SID

Installation Errors on Solaris 8

Hello.I am attempting to install weblogic server 6.0 on a Solaris 8 system. I have successfully used the installer on Solaris 7, but when I run the 'weblogic600_sol.bin' file on the Solaris 8 machine, I get the error "Error: Cant' find libjava.so.". I searched for libjava.so, and sure enough, I didn't find it, BUT, I already have Java2 SDK version 1.2 as well as 1.3 installed and working fine. Any suggestions? There is a bug in install anywhere. Could you try to remove your existing
JDK? Or, at least make it unaccesible from the command line?

I found the solution, if anyone has the same error, here is the solution:
The cause of an error was improper configuration of the host. The ping returned two different IP addresses:
oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost
myhost (333.333.333.333) is alive
oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost.domain.com
myhost.domain.com (555.555.555.555) is alive
I removed the wrong IP address for myhost.domain.com in /etc/inet/ipnodes:
[email protected] # cat /etc/inet/ipnodes
# Internet host table
::1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
555.555.555.555 myhost.domain.com loghost
Now the ping is correct:
oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost
myhost (333.333.333.333) is alive

DB Instance installation error on solaris oracale 9i

HI
I have problem in my ECC 5.00 DB instance istallation.At the user input i am trying to provide EXPORT cd lebles but it is not taking.
I have Export DVD with 8 export directories.I am installing ECC 5 + Oracle 9i 0n solaris 10.My CI was successfully installed.
There is something strange.See i have copied export DVD into free location and installation process ask the fist Export CD lable.When give that it is not taking.But from the CD rom it is taking and it is not asking rest of the export cd lable.(But it is giving me error at load Data base stage)
I souldn`t find any information on my installation log.
I have downloaded the currect CD set from the service marcket place.

What is the issue.pls help me

I launched the ./runInstaller comman, met all the installer requirements, and then this:...

What should the DISPLAY value be, and is that supposed to be set in the environment while user is oracle?
I used the...
$ /sbin/ifconfig to find the inet addr:75.4.93.84
then executed...
$ DISPLAY=75.4.93.84:0.0 ; export DISPLAY
What am I missing?

This is my error:
[oracle@adsl-70-131-46-217 ~]$ Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using '127.0.0.1:0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.
Then there are a bunch of lines at read 'at sun...[stuff] at java...[more stuff] at oracle...[and more stuff]'
Any ideas?

Hi,
I did installation of OBIEE10g on windows server 2008r2 which is placed on VM ware, Installation completed successfully. but while starting the BI services or opening the administration tool it is showing error as below
"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.Please see application event log or use the command line sxtrace.exe tool for more detail."
Please guide me any suggestions.
