When will Data Services 3.x be released for Linux 64-bit?
We have a quite large installation currently but want to upgrade to DS 3.1 on SUSE Linux and Oracle and would really like to run it on 64-bit.

Data Services 3.2 targeted for this summer will natively support Linux 64-bit on Red Hat and SUSE.

  • Problem in OIM Installation in Linux-64 bit environment

    Hi,
    Components used
    1. Oracle Database11gR1
    2. Weblogic Application server 10.3.0(installed in non clustered mode)
    3. OIM 9.1.0.1
Also ensured the above three are compatible.
I'm facing problem at the end of OIM installation in RedHat Linux-64 bit environment.
The error details in setup-weblogic.log file is given below
    ===================================
    setup-startscript:
    setup:
[echo] Setting up weblogic for xellerate complete.
    [ant] Exiting /oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml.
    BUILD FAILED
/oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/setup.xml:443: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/oracle/oimserver/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml:196: Could not create task or type of type: wlst.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
    - You have misspelt 'wlst'.
    Fix: check your spelling.
    - The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
    Fix: declare the task.
    - The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
    download a pre-built release version from apache.org
    - The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
    - The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
    - You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
    classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug.

Further, I have identified that the ant was unable to launch a custom web logic task, wlst.
This custom task of web logic task is invoked by ant using the following script in <OIM_HOME>/xellerate/setup/weblogic-setup.xml.
    <target name="setup" depends="setup-startscript">
<echo>Setting up weblogic for xellerate complete.</echo>

    executeScriptBeforeFile="false"
    failOnError="true">
    </wlst>
    <antcall target="stopServer"/>
    <antcall target="startServer"/>
    </target>
Also I have ensured the all the environmental variables, JAVAOPTIONS, USER_MEM_ARGS, ANT_OPTS are properly set before installing OIM.
I have tried several times but still getting the same error.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Did anyone face this issue before??????

I am not certain but when I was installing OIM 9.1.x with wls 10.3.0 on windows I had a failure too and it turned out I didn't create the wls domain user and group for OIM. The docs for OIM 9.1 does not talk about it so you may want to create this account and group and re-try the install. The steps are below:
Log in to the WebLogic Admin Console using your new account by pointing a web browser to the following url:
    http://<hostname>:7001/console
    1. Select Security, then Realms, then myrealm, and then Groups from the navigation panel on the left.
    2. Select the Configure a new Group link in the Groups page.
    3. Enter User for the group name in the Name field under the General tab and optionally enter a description for the group.Click Apply.
    Note:
The group name User is case-sensitive.
    4. Select Security, then Realms, then myrealm, and then Users from the navigation panel on the left.
    5. Select the Configure a new User link in the Users page.
    6. Enter Internal for the user name in the Name field under the General tab and optionally enter a description for the user.
    Note:
The user name Internal is case-sensitive.
    7. Enter and confirm a password associated with the user name Internal and click Apply.
    8. Select the Groups tab.
    9. Add the User group to the list of Current Groups for the Internal user by selecting User from the list of Possible Groups and clicking the --> right arrow button. Click Apply.
Please post back if it works,
    Thanks,

Listen Sheikh Abdullah, if u don't need remote access to that server over secure conn., don't use password file authentification but change REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE to NONE and when u conn thru OEM as sysdba try to change his pass and then try conn thru command promt(CP) usin that new pass.
Or recreate pass file adding new pass in it, set REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE to exclusive or shared and conn thru CP using password file pass.
Try this possible solutions in order u wish.

Why is your "requirement" to install in graphical mode?  Once you are past the installation itself, the only thing that buys you is that your server will have been configured to boot up to runlevel 5, running a graphical desktop (gnome or kde, I forget which).  And what does THAT buy you on a server?
I do not run ANY of my Linux servers "in graphical mode" -- running a graphical desktop.  Nor did I run a graphical desktop when I had Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX servers.

    According to
ID 757245.1 Can you Upgrade RDBMS and Convert From 32-bit to 64-bit Binaries Directly on Linux or Windows based Intel Platforms Using the Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA)oracle does not support upgrading and changing the wordsize at the same time. A workaround is to upgrade it on the same platform and then move it to the new oS and change wordisize.

  • VMM 2012 R2 Error (10637) Ubuntu Linux (64 bit)

When I try to change the properties of my VM to "Ubuntu Linux (64 bit)" I get the Error (10637) saying it's not supported...
    VMM 2012 R2 and the Hyper-V server is Server 2012 R2 Datacenter.
I found a bunch of articles about RedHat and changing the OSFlags value in the table tbl_IL_OS however none of them say what those flags are / do or why set it to THAT value. I've also found a few other blogs about other OSes and different values. I'd rather
not guess what the correct value should be...
The actual VM is Ubuntu Server 13.10 but I'm not sure that matters?

    Hello,
This issue relates to the way Operating Systems are flagged for Hypervisor support in the DB (the OSFlags as you mentioned).  Ubuntu Linux 12.04 (32 bit) and Ubuntu Linux 12.04 (64 bit) are flagged as supported by Hyper-V. The Ubuntu Linux
() entries are flagged as supported by VMware but not Hyper-V.  You could use the Other Linux or Ubuntu Linux 12.04 property.

Usually, when you choose for example Oracle Service Bus Extension - Single Server Domain Topology - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1], the dependencies are automatically chosen as well.
If this not happening, just add the products it is suggesting in the error, such as Oracle Service Bus OWSM Extension - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1] .

  • SOA Suite Installation on Linux 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I have to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 on a Linux 64 bit machine. I want to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 version on the machine because any version above will not be supported on my machine. Here is the list of components I want to install.
    1. Oracle Database
    2. Weblogic server
    3. RCU
    4. SOA Suite
    5. JDeveloper extension
    7. BPM extension
    8. Oracle Service Bus
Can anybody tell me where can I get the downloadables for these components for Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 which is Linux 64 bit compatible. I searched the Oracle website but can't find it anywhere? I also looked at edeilivery site of oracle, but no luck. However, if anybody has the URL's to directly download it, then please share.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh G

    Anuj,
Thanks for your response. I can't raise an SR with Oracle since I am learning this on my own.
However to answer your question, I am using Processor AMD, 1.6GhZ with 4 GB RAM.
I have made my system dual boot with Windows 7 and Suse Linux 12.3, both 64 bit operating systems
I have tried to install 11.1.1.6 on my system on windows but the installation got hanged. And when I went for 11.1.1.5 on windows, the installation was smooth and I have it installed on windows7. But now I want to learn to install it on Linux machine also thats why I am asking for 11.1.1.5 downloadables.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh G

  • OWB 11g on Linux 64-bit security problem

    Hello guys,
Our database (11.1.0.7.0) is under Linux 64-bit. Is there any way to start embedded OWB (which is part of the database install) from a different OS user than the owner of the Oracle binaries ?
Due to the VERY slow response time, it is not practical for us to use an OWB standalone Windows version as a client to connect to the repository installed on Linux; so, the only option is to have the OWB client on the same machine as database. But this means to give developers access to the Linux box (using VNC), using the OS user who owns Oracle binaries; this is a very serious security threat, as they, for example, can connect as SYSDBA into db.
When we were using 10g (database + OWB), it was possible to install OWB on the same box as db, but in a different OS user (not in dba group) and to access design repository/control center. For 10g it was released a 64-bit version of OWB. It's not the case with 11g. Also, support told us that it isn't supported to use 32-bit OWB binaries installed on 64-bit Linux.
    Any inputs are appreciated.
    Regards.

I donot know whether i understood your problem correctly or not but.
    i donot understant the point
But this means to give developers access to the Linux box (using VNC), using the OS user who owns Oracle binaries; this is a very serious security threat, as they, for example, can connect as SYSDBA into db."Previously, each Oracle Database utilized as a repository for this product required a user with SYSDBA privileges. Beginning in this release, this is no longer required. A schema OWBSYS is created while installing Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1). OWBSYS holds the metadata which is divided into workspaces. To start using Warehouse Builder, you just need to create a new workspace. You do not need SYSDBA privileges"

  • Configuring Siebel Gateway Name Server on Linux 64 bit OS

    Hello Siebel Experts,
I am currently installing Siebel 8.1.1.11 on a Linux 64-bit machine. After successfully completing the installation steps, I am proceeding with the configuring the server and its components.
I am starting with the configuration of Siebel Gateway Name Server as per the instructions mentioned on the url:
Bookshelf v8.1/8.2: Configuring the Siebel Enterprise
I completed steps 1 and 2 and started executing step 3: Start the Siebel Enterprise Configuration Wizard.
I provided all the necessary information till the summary information is displayed.
However when I click next, it immediately gives an error.
    >>Siebel Configuration Wizard fails with error. Please check the log files for details.
I searched for the log file in $SIEBEL_ROOT/cfgtoollogs/cfg/config_<date-time>.log
However there is no error information in this log file. It contains just INFO, SECTION, STEP or ATTRIBUTE mappings/values.
I could not find any .err file in this directory. Can you please let us know how to identify the error and debug this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Compile sample procobol program on linux 64 bit

If this is the wrong forum I apoligise but i can't see another one for precompilers.
I am trying to compile and run a procobol sample program on a linux 64 bit machine.
When I try to compile with the demo makefile I get
ld: skipping incompatible /home/oracle/10G/lib//libclntsh.so when searching for -lclntsh
So i have added LIBDIR=lib32 to my make command
    make LIBDIR=lib32 -f demo_procob.mk sample1
And it now compiles but when I run it I get
    Execution error : file 'sample1'
    error code: 114, pc=0, call=1, seg=0
114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11)
This happens when it is trying to connect.
Would be gratefull for any help on what I suspect is a 32/64 bit issue.
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
The 114 error is like a S0C4, out-of-bounds RAM memory address.
    The "make" for Pro*Cobol is tricky . . .
This note mentions a similar issue:
    http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.cobol/browse_frm/thread/677550bed420df6e/221590ddf179beac?lnk=st&q=declaration+of+the+file+FWORK&rnum=1#221590ddf179beac
The problem was in the declaration of the file FWORK used in the sort statement :
    SORT FWORK ASCENDING TYPE-SD AGCE-SD PRET-SD
    INPUT PROCEDURE LEC-PRETS
    OUTPUT PROCEDURE EDITION.
It was declared like that :
    FWORK ASSIGN FFE
    ORGANIZATION SEQUENTIAL
    STATUS XZ-STATUS RESERVE NO.
