11.1.0 OEM On Windows

In oracle note 412431.1 it says that it can be run on:
Platform
Windows x86
OS versions
     Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 R2; Windows 2003 (32 bit) with SP2/R2+, Windows7
But when I look at oracle.com (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/index.html) for the download, it looks like it is only for windows 32 bit? Can 11.1.0 OEM run on windows 2008 server R2 with 64 bit?

I am using the EM that comes with the 11g database. It does not have the performance tab available. Apparently that is an upgrade and may not be supported for 64 bit.
This is the response from Oracle Support for my SR:
There are 2 versions of Enterprise Manager
1. DB Console. This is the version that comes free with the database.
If the DBConsole application is already running for this database then the upgrade process
will upgrade this application
2. Enterprise Manager Grid Control. This application requires a separate license (please contact Oracle Sales for costing)
This application is used to monitor all oracle products installed on your site. It is an enterprise wide application
It can be downloaded from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/index.html
The install guides are here on
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/nav/overview.htm

Please note that Grid Control 11g has not been released for 64bit windows servers
As well you cannot install a 32-bit Windows version on a 64-bit windows server. This combination is not supported

  • Windows 7/8.1 OEM to Windows 10 Retail (Free) Discussion

Microsoft has made it known that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. I think its time we have a discussion on the Dell Community Forums about Windows 10.
Post #1 Windows 10 Digital Deployment and How to Leave Feedback to Microsoft
Windows 10 will likely be released in Late Summer.
The deployment methods of Windows 10 are still not yet fully known. I advise Microsoft deploy Windows 10 in a certain way so end-users can readily repair an installation or reinstall on a new hard drive or a corrupt install.
Please Add your Votes so Microsoft Address this Critical Feedback
If you have the concerns this page has on Windows 10 Installation Media then please support my ideas so Microsoft Addresses them:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvY_VjFZATk
How Could Microsoft Release the Update?
Scenario 1 and 2 will cause issues.
    Scenario 1: "Windows Update (Only)"
Update 19/03/2015 Microsoft have made it known they will provide a .iso and hence not enforce a Windows Update only Upgrade path. Looks like they are taking some steps in the correct direction.
This .iso should be available for download and reinstallation but it hasn't been stated how product keys will be issued. Provided a key is issued correctly (i.e. sent to a user in an email or linked to a Microsoft Account as in scenario 3) the user should be able to download the .iso at a later date and not need to carry out a double install for reinstallation.

    Scenario 2: "A Key for a Key"
Update 18/03/2015 Free Windows 10 Upgrade for Chinese Pirates: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-31940716
In such cases the Windows 7 Product Key probably won't be needed. Microsoft aren't likely to appease pirates while simultaneously making life difficult for genuine customers.
    COA Issues
If users have to input their 25 digit Windows 7 product key from their COA. In theory this would work.
In practice however if this is the only method of installation for the free upgrade then there is a problem for a large fraction of the Windows 7 OEM userbase. Microsoft provided OEMs such as Dell with COAs of terrible print quality. This didn't matter for Windows 7 OEM as OEM installation media input a generic Dell OEM SLP key.
A case like this is not uncommon and is more common for other OEMs as Dell shielded COAs by placing them under the battery.
Scenario 3: Windows 10 .iso and Product Key Linked to Microsoft Account
This is the only logically working scenario that I can see is a utility which performs the following functions:
Checks the Base Windows License is Genuine*
Tells user to Sign in with a Microsoft Account
Assigns a Product Key to the Microsoft Account (similar to Office Online)
Gives the user an option to install Windows 10 via Windows Update or to Create Installation Media for Clean Installation
End User can later sign in with their Microsoft Account to Download a Windows 10 .iso and obtain their product key

#8 The Start Menu and User Interface
    1. The Start Menu
Allow Drag and Drop from the left list to the right pinned icons. Update build 10041, Microsoft have done this.
The Start menu is bloated with Metro Apps, making it more cumbersome to find useful installed programs. Example of Start Menu to the left bloated with Metro Apps.
These should all be in a Windows Apps folder similar to all the (more useful) items in the Windows Accessories folder.
    2. Windows and X Menu (Right Click Start)
Please add your votes to my Windows UserVoice suggestion here.
Add the following to the “Windows and X” menu:
    Windows Defender
    Windows Defender Offline
    Devices and Printers
    .iso to Bootable USB Utility
"Settings" → This definitely has to be here
Make the Windows and X Menu look like part of Windows 10.
    3. Windows Defender
Add it to the Windows and X Menu as described above and also add right click context menus like Microsoft Security Essentials had:
    4. Minor Feedback
I'm not a great fan of the new icons, the folders are too bright and it looks like they have been drawn in Microsoft paint. The Recycle bin particularly looks terrible.

  • Is it possible to downgrade windows 8.1 pro FPP oem to windows 7 pro? what is the procedure to downgrade FPP OEM windows 8.1?

Is it possible to downgrade windows 8.1 pro FPP oem to windows 7 pro? what is the procedure to downgrade FPP OEM windows 8.1?

If you have license for Windows 7 or you have downgrade option. You should do reinstall of Windows 7 and there is no direct downgrade option. It is possible to backup data and then restore files from user profile manually but there is
no direct downgrade option and you have to reinstall all programs.

  • Are sideloading keys required to sideload Apps to domain joined OEM/retail Windows 8.1 Pro devices?

    Hello,
I want to sideload a Microsoft Store App to a Lenovo Thinkpad 2 device. The device has an OEM / retail version of Windows 8.1 Pro installed and is part of an active directory domain network.
With this preconditions and according to announcements by Microsoft, it seems to be possible since May 2014 to deploy Apps directly to these devices. Without the need to buy a sideloading key.
To check this, I have generated an code signing certificate with makecert/Pvk2Pfx and then I followed the instructions in this
    blog article.
Everything went fine, only the actual deployment with add-appxPackage didn't work. The installation aborts with the error message, that a developer or sideloading license is required, as no license or sideloading policy can be applied.
Can anybody in this forum give me some advice to these questions:
    1. Does the new sideload licensing model for May 2014 also applies to OEM/retail versions of Windows 8.1, or is is volume licensing required?
    2. Has anybody managed to successfully sideload an App to a OEM / retail Windows 8.1 Pro device?
    3. At the moment I don't have access to the domain network. I can login with a domain user locally but changes to the local group policies and to the local certificate stores can't be confirmed by the domain controller. I'm not an administrator, so might this
    be a source of error?
    Thanks
    Tobias

    Hello Tobias,
Please check if you can normally sideload Windows Store App in other domain-joined OEM computer.
About the OEM issue, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer.
    Best regards,

  • Installation OEM on Windows XP

Sequence of installation I have done:
    1. Format c:
    2. Install new Windows XP
    3. Update the system
    4. download OEM 10g from Oracle
    5. setup OEM 10g with a new Database
    - setup failed with in this point:
    Configuration assistant "OMS Configuration" failed.
If I press "next" the installation is finished but OEM does not work.
I have tried to install OEM with new database and using existing DB,the result the same.
The new created database looks fine.

  • How to downgrade easily from windows 8.1 OEM to Windows 7 Pro

    Hi,
I've tried to get used to Windows 8.1 (7 months), but I did not find a solution to get the classic view (3D look instead of the extra flat look) nor to play spider solitaire in a windowed mode, it always opens in full screen (desktop PC 2560x1440). If I
get the game in a small windows, it's a "crab view" = lateral.
I've created an account and when I went online the 1st time, Microsoft made it a MS account and I don't have my own account anymore. I don't feel that I own the PC, it doesn't feel like my personal PC. It feels like a public internet PC. I have no pleasure
    at all using it.
I feel sad because I have been saving money for so long to buy a powerful PC with a nice large screen and it is so disappointing because of Windows 8.1 OEM. I have a license for Windows 7 Pro but if install it and it does not work (I can't find all the drivers),
the company I bought it from warns me I will lose my warranty.
It seems incredible to me that I have now 1st to pay Windows 8.1 Pro (I want to run away from it) in order to get downgrade rights. I feel miserable and helpless.
In the past I have bought a PC every time there was a new O/S (Windows 3.1, 95, 98, Millennium, Windows 2000, XP, XP Pro, Vista Home, Windows 7 Home.
Please any help is appreciated. I would like to be able to downgrade automatically, like when you click the "Windows update item in Start Menu"  that everything happens automatically, but instead of upgrading I would like to downgrade.
    Caroline

You can only do a clean install of Windows 7 to "downgrade" from Windows 8.1.  There is no other path.
And you must ensure your hardware has support for Windows 7.  Many of the platforms with Windows 8 do not have the necessary drivers to support the installation.
Follow Milos Puchta's advise and contact the manufacturer/vendor of your system for all assistance in this endeavor.

  • Unable to launch jobs in OEM under Windows XP

I have not found a way to successfully launch a job in OEM 2.2 (Oracle 8i) under Windows XP. All jobs fail with a VNI-2015 authentication error. According to the Oracle documentation, this is because the preferred credentials have not been correctly set up. In fact, I have set up both the database and the node preferred credentials, specifying my Windows username and password for the latter, but it still doesn't work. The Oracle documentation states that the user has to be granted the "login as batch" privilege - but I can see nowhere in Windows XP where this can be done. In any case, I would have thought that, as administrator, I have all the necessary privileges (including "login as batch").
    Can anyone help ?

Hi, had similar problem on Windows 2000. Under Admin tools I selected Local Security Policy, Local Policies, User Rights Assignment and then added NT user to Logon as Batch. However, not sure whether these options are available under XP?

  • Clone 9i OEM on Windows

Is it possible to clone 9.2.0.3 OEM (database) with a repository from one Windows 2003 server (prod) to another WIndow 2003 server (test). And I do not loose any defined node, jobs/events, etc.
    Thanks
    Apps11i

    You could use RMAN
    There are two ways:
    1. using rman duplication, this process changes the db id of the cloned db
    2. restoring to a remote server, but this doesn't change the dbid of
the cloned db; use nid to change it.
For both processes, the rman backups should be accessible to the remote host.
For instance, for the second, I would do this
    set until blah blah;
    run {
    restore database;
    recover database;
Then, do 'alter database open resetlogs' either at rman prompt or at
    sqlplus prompt.
If you get system dbf needs recovery. Copy the relevant redo log files, then do
recover database using backup controlfile until cancel.

  • Is OEM's Windows XP CD provided when you bought new IBM laptop?

    Dear the forum reader,
I'm facing "Crash" on my Windows XP. My laptop is IBM R51of year 2005. I'm staying in Malaysia.
After I have gone through the software CD and User Manuals, I discovered that that is no OEM Windows XP CD. For your info, there has already pre-loaded Windows XP when I bought my laptop last time.
Is it a common practice that OEM Windows XP CD is not provided to any new purchaser of IBM/ Lenovo laptop?
Thus, any clue on this issue.
    Many thanks!
    Cheers,
    Adrian

Its been common practice with most brands of laptops for several years now.
In the case of a ThinkPad, a system image that can be used to create one set of installation CDs is included on the hard disk of every ThinkPad when it ships from the factory.

I need to test the 10g OEM with our existing 8i & 9i servers. Where do I download this? It isn't part of the enterprise installation disk. Is it on the client disk?

  • Where to Get The Windows 7 Home Premium .iso File for Pre installed OEM of Windows

Hi Everyone, Need help here, please..Here is the situation, i want to upgrade my current pre-installed OS (Win 7 x64) Home premium in my laptop HP ENVY 4-1013tx Notebook PC to Windows 10. I'ts fine in the beginning until it shut down because of heat problem. When i try to turn it on, BSOD appeared. I've try to run in safe mode with have no luck, the same BSOD still appeared.I decided to recover it but no OS was detected in recovery mode. I browsed for many forums and they said that my HDD got bad sector so I remove my hdd from the laptop and attached it on my PC and run chkdsk but didn't solve the problem (chkdsk error : an unexpected error occured). So the last thing I've done was to format the HDD and install a clean Windows 10 and can not activate it without the product key. I just want to go back to my Win 7 and want to upgrade it to Win 10 again. Can I get the iso file ? My Product is B4P83PA#AR6 Thank You

  • OEM 10g Oracledbconsole problems in a Windows XP Pro environment

I just figured why the new Oracle 10g OEM for windows(Windows XP Pro in my case) will not start up and the OracleDBConsole process fails with a return code of 2( Agent process exited abnormally during initialization).
I had my internet service connected last week through my cable company. Before that I could start up the Oracle 10g OEM without any problems but afterwards I started getting the OracleDBConsole error. After a little research and after re-installing Oracle several times I discovered the problem:
When you boot up your machine Oracle or perhaps oracledbconsole executes a Java applicaton called
getHostIPAddress, which gets the ip address of your machine. Another Java application is executed aftewards called getHostNameForIPAddress that attempts to derive the host name using the ip address returned from the getHostIPAddress function.
When I installed Oracle 10g with my internet connection active the getHostIPAddress function was returning the ip address assigned to me dynamically by my cable company. Function getHostNameForIPAddress was than called to get the hostname using this ip address and that's where the problem occurred. These are the errors as they appear in the installationactions... file in my
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs folder:
    Calling Query netQueries10.1.0.2.0 getHostNameForIPAddress
    ipAddress = 24.51.224.63
    Query Exception: UnknownHostException
    Query Exception Class: class oracle.sysman.oii.oiil.OiilQueryException
    It appears that the getHostNameForIPAddress
cannot and probably should not be able to derive the hostname using a dynamically assigned ip address.
    Solution:
    1. I removed Oracle 10g from my machine and all references to it(registry). You might not have to do this
but I wanted no problems with the re-installation.
    2. I turned off the cable modem.
    3. I re-installed Oracle 10g and rebooted. This time the Oracle 10g OEM worked. The oracledbconsole and the emagent services were started successfully.
The ip address host was resolved to the localhost(127.0.0.0) not to the ipaddress assigned to me by my ISP because the internet connection was not active.
Note. You must leave your cable box disconnected or turned off until the oracledbconsole and the emagent services are started else you will start having the same problems. Everytime you startup your machine oracledbconsole or some other process executes the getHostIPAddress and getHostNameForIPAddress functions. That's why you have to wait until those two processes( oracledbconsole and the emagent ) are running before you can turn on your cable modem. Look in the processes tab of the windows task manager to verify that these two processes are running.

    Hi gene731;
WARNING I just received word from the IBM CERT Team that the security for Microsoft Live has been breached. Their recommendation is to have nothing to do with it until Microsoft is able to redo the security. At the present time the hackers are able to defeat the Microsoft Live security one third of the time.
You may want to let your mom know how much danger she is letting herself in for using Microsoft Live since the security has been breached.
