11.1.2 update will not download.

I have iTunes 11.1.1 on a Windows 8.1 computer. I checked for an update. The update permissions window asked if I wanted to update to 11.1.2. I clicked downoad and install. The download window opens and I clicked the button to install the update. The window flicked quickly then returned to the same question asking if I want to install. This repeats without downloading the new version. I tried closing and reopening iTunes with the same result. I tried rebooting the computer, but the same thing occurred. Ideas?

I solved my problem. I downloaded the latest iTunes version from Apple and installed it over my existing version. This time the new version successfully installed. I was gunshy on deleting iTunes. Although I have done this successfully before, I am running a recent update to Windows 8.1 and have had problems with other programs not functioning fully. I tried the delete and restore method and found that the latest version would not install and returned a "Not compatible with this version of your operating system". Thanks for bearing with me and my MS woes.

seems the 10.5 iTunes versions are corrupted on Windows XP.

There is an issue with the security certificate of Apple's download site which your browsers may have a tendency to block it.

Certain Windows updates will not download on any PC on our network

We've had a problem that seemed to develop a couple of months ago in that certain Windows updates will not download to any PC on our network, most notably IE11 and .NET 3.5.1 updates. Most others will download and install with no problem at all.
I have tried running the Windows Update Fixit, I have tried deleting the /Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder, I have tried the System Update Readiness Tool, I have added the various Windows Update server URLs to our firewall whitelist, I have
tried a clean boot, but to no avail. Downloading and installing the affected KB patches manually works fine though.
When I connect any of our PCs directly to an external router the updates download and install fine. It's only when connected to our network (which comprises a Peplink WAN load balancer, Cyberoam CR25iNG security device, Windows 2003 domain controller
& Arista 10Gig switch) that the problem exists.
Most updates download successfully but others only get to a certain percentage downloaded, most commonly 45%, although I'm not sure if that's a meaningful figure.
For example, the most recent batch of updates all download and install fine except for KB2982378, KB2894844, KB2972211 & KB2973112. Is there something those updates have in common that something on our network could be blocking?
I'm really unsure where to try looking next, so if anyone has any suggestions they would be very welcome please.

Hi Matt,
When you connect to an external router directly, does your network location change to private or still domain network?
I suspect this is related to some firewall setting, even related to your network security device.
Please check or upload the WindowsUpdate.log ( %windir%\Windowsupdate.log), we can find some information about downloading phase.

I am having a similiar issue, but I am not getting any error messages. The App Store tells me I have updates. I go to update all, then they just hang in limbo.
The first app listed was Pages which I thought was causing the problem as it requires Mt. Lion and I don't have that yet. None of the other apps would update. I deleted Pages from the ipad and tried again. When I go to the App store from my MBP, it tells me there are no updates, so I can't even download them to the computer. The ipad still tells me I have updates. I click the "update all" button but now, only one app loads at a time and I must wait awhile and repeat the update all to have another one load. I have not experienced this at all since I've owned it - over a year. Any insight would be helpful - trying to avoid Restore if possible. Thank you-

I am able to access the app store, browse and send/receive mail. so my internet connection is fine. Also my ipad works just fine over the same network.
The app is a very small file. (A flashlight app for iphone)

I gey update notices but they just loop and will not download, nor can I download at the itunes site.

One approach, if you haven't tried it would be to do a restore...then when putting your stuff back on after the restore, incrementally add the apps back in....

If that doesn't work, you could try dfu mode....I haven't tried this in iOS 6, but imagine it works the same...
DFU mode[1] is a state that you can put your iPhone into where it can interface with iTunes but does not load the iPhone operating system or boot loader (this is what really differs DFU mode from recovery mode). DFU stands for Device Firmware Update.
While connected to PC, running iTunes, hold down Home and Power( button on upper right edge) button for exactly 8 seconds.
Release the power button. Restore message will appear in iTunes. The device will be recognized by iTunes, but no display will appear on the device itself. The lack of a display on the device will verify that it is in dfu mode.

It's possible the AppleTV is being seen as a streaming only library - are you able to view streamed content under My Movies etcor My Shared Movies etc?
If the content is new and is HD it's possible you're downloading 1080p which ATV1 can't handle or sync.

I always enjoy looking at what applications are ready to be updated. Often times these updates bring about great new features to the device. I notice that were working an Apple device. Once you head into the App Store, it will advise to Update All or you may individually tap update for each app. I would ensure that a data connection or wi-fi connection is available while processing the update of applications. I'm sure you will find this information beneficial.

I'm sorry, I really do not understand what your issue is. Your first post indicates an issue with downloading the online installer, which requires an internet connection to download/install. User andys75622553 provided a link to the offline installer, which does not require an internet connection to install. You're response to andys75622553 is a bit confusing. Please restate your issue in a clear manner, preferably as stated here Read Before Posting: How To Get A Useful Answer To Your Question

I do find it interesting that you are running XP Mike, because I also run XP on this 'dial-up internet connected' computer that I type from at present - and interesting because I thought I had given up on Flash Player updates back last April when XP became obsolete - not that XP doesn't function, as I am still using it also, but that I could not update my Internet Explorer - so, I thought that because I could not update my Internet Explorer, that Flash Player was telling me that it couldn't update. And note that my statement could be warped by time, but something like that.

Received message that Adobe FlashPlayer needed to be updated. I try walking through the steps and it will never download. Cannot view news clips or videos sent to me. Receive a message "The plugin for this content has been disabled. Click here to manage." If I click, nothing happens.

Have you blocked a component called ''plugin_container.exe'' with your firewall by any chance? Check the logs.

Next, reboot and then go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ It should give you the option to install it immediately without the need to download it.
Be aware though that when you run the uninstaller, it will also remove Flash from IE8 (or 9), so if you use either of those, you'll have to go to the same site again and download it from within Internet Explorer.

Updates will not download anymore even though the computer meets all the requirements and it goes into and endless loop of connecting to the server, why?

Firefox used to update automatically as it's set-up to do. Now it shows an update for security and asks to download it. Then it won't download it. The box shows a bar that continually shows that it's in motion and the message says that it's trying to connect to the server but it never does. I checked the system requirements for the download and it has the requirements. Your help information doesn't give an answer for this problem. I would need to talk to someone who can help. Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac. Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

Itunes 10 update will not download

I have tried several times over the past month to update to itunes 10, the download will begin a small amount will download then just stop. After 45 min. to 1 hour still no progress. I have been having the same problem when trying to upate my ipod touch to the latest software.

I'm having the same problem with the iTunes update, the security update and the 10.6.5 update. They all start OK and then quick throttle back to about 2.4 kb/sec and basically stall out. I am on fiber optic and get highs in the mid 800s with averages of mid 600 to mid 700s usually. This problem only occurs with the Apple site or through Software Update, all other downloads from wherever work fine.
