11.5.10.2 fresh installation problem

Hi, All
I install the 11.5.10.2 in AIX 5.3. There is no problem in installation process. But when I try to login the EBS, The login page is not displayed.
Any one has experienced this problem??
Thanks in advance.
Devon

Check if all your application process are up by doing a "ps -ef|grep <install_user>".
if every thing is up, then check if you are able to ping to the server from your Destop.
try pinging using the hostname instead of IP. In some cases you may need to add the IP address & hostname in your local "c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts" file.

There's a way to fix this forever?
Often when i need to edit some files, like /etc/pacman.conf or xorg config file, arch tell me: You do not have write permission to modify... that file
Searched another workaround.. and also this i must do every time after each boot:

    Ok guys,
think solved by change my /sda6/ (root) by /mnt to / and adding a slash / before home, boot, var.
Rebooted and try to edit the same file /etc/fstab and no warnings
    Now is like this:
    # /etc/fstab: static file system information
    # <file system> <dir>     <type>     <options>                <dump>    <pass>
    tmpfs                    /tmp        tmps        nodev,nosuid             0                0

    /dev/sda6                  /             ext4                  rw,relatime           0   1

With this the NwSapSetup.log ends with:
    16:26:23 NwSapSetup 1 Return-Code: 145
In the next logical step within our environment a uninstallation of the SAP GUI gets started:
       Commandline:
    '"C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SapSetup\Setup\NWSapSetup.exe"  /Silent /Uninstall /Package=PEACY'
    This operation gets done with:
    12:35:47 NwSapSetup 1 Return-Code: 0
After that the installation of the SAP GUI gets started again with:
       Commandline:        '"C:\peacy.sys\source\SAPGUI730PL8\source\setup\NwSapSetup.exe"  /noDLG /norestart /Package=PEACY'
Now the Installation gets done with:
    12:52:12 NwSapSetup 1 Return-Code: 0
Every first installation of SAP GUI 7.30 PL8 is affected. This is a cross-platform issue (Windows 7 and Windows 8.1). If there was our older package version (SAP GUI 7.30 PL4) installed, the installation of SAP GUI 7.30 PL8 gets done without problems.
Every new client with the SAP GUI 7.30 PL8 assigned or the re-installation of it, and every first installation of the package on a client without SAP GUI leads to the mentioned issue - package gets installed with the mentioned error, afterwards the uninstallation gets started by our environment and finally the installation gets done with the second try. This is not a practicable method for our support staff.
Are there any hints how to resolve this issue. (A upgrade to the newest patch level of SAP GUI is not a practicable solution)
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards
    Christian

    Hello Christian,
For older releases of the SAP GUI client a good approach is to create package for uninstalling old SAP GUI.  Depending on the state of the old SAP GUI's you're upgrading those may not be "clean" enough to warrant upgrading in place.
The older GUI's have component's no longer provided with the newer releases so most recommendations are to uninstall completely an do a fresh installation.
I credit Matt Fraser for this information and suggest reading his documentation.  The last 4 articles are germane to you're situation.  I hope this helps you.

  • Fresh Installation Boot Errors

I'm new to trying to work with Solaris 10, and to a lot of Solaris in general, so while I'd normally be happy to do a lot of reading (and have tried searching for answers on google a good deal already), I'm having a problem after a fresh installation of Solaris 10 on a Sparc T3-1 server that I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to solve.
During the install I told the text installer I wanted to do a ZFS installation using both of my disks (only 2) in a mirrored configuration. I selected the default set of core system packages.
After the install seemed to be done and the system rebooted, I'm getting the following when it comes up:
Boot device: /pci@400/pci@1/pci@0/pci@4/scsi@0/disk@w5000c5003a04f911,0:a File and args:

After doing a new install off of the install media (cd) I would have expected the system to be able to boot without errors, but obviously I've missed something or done something wrong, and I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction for figuring out what that is and fixing it.
I'm happy to provide any other details if there are questions.

I do see a few messages in the installation log that give me concern. The first is:

  • E-Business 12.1.1 Installation Problem

I am having problems installing Oracle E-Business Suite Application version 12.1.1. I am running Windows 2003 Server. I did the following when I tried to install the Application:
    1.     I downloaded the software from Oracle edelivery website.
    2.     I unziped the software creating the E:\StageR12
    3.     I downloaded and installed Cygwin and Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Edition.
    4.     I started the rapidwiz without any flags. When it was performing the check, I had a (!) mark next to Systems Tools complaining that it could not find Gnu Make. Did some research on the net and found out that my Cygwin application was not fully installed; therefore, I downloaded ALL the packages and installed them. Renamed gnumake to make.
    5.     Rechecked and this time it was complaining about the Cl.exe not being available. The Cl.exe is the Visual C++ Command Line complier so I searched for it and it exist in E:\VCPlus\VC\bin. So trying to be smart, I copied Cl.exe to the E:\cygwin\bin. I think this copying was a very wrong move?! I probably should have added the E:\VCPlus\VC\bin into the $PATH environment variable and it would have probably found it.
    6.     The System Check Passed this time. But in the middle (Step 2 of 5 – about 20%) I had the famous generic error:
RW-50004: Error Code received when running external process. Check log file for details. Running Database Install Driver for VIS instance.
Obviously I have either Abort or Retry. I Retried just to see what happens and the same error popped again?!
    7.     At this stage I Aborted the installation and the Wizard went through Validating System Configuration. I had an “X” mark next to all of the items except for two items that had an exclamation mark “!”.
    Now my question is this:
    1.     Was the copying of the Visual C++ Complier to Cygwin folder and the absence of E:\VCPlus\VC\bin in the PATH that caused such a crash. I admit the copying was a stupid move to say the least
    2.     If you need the logs file, please specify where I can find it. I went to E:\Oracle\VIS\inst\apps\VIS_r2d2
and only found a configuration file called conf_VIS.txt. This is obviously a configuration text file and not the installation logs. So my question is this: Where I can find the installation logs? The document 121oaig (Oracle Application Installation Guide) did not mention where to find these logs except how to start/restart your installation and pass the hostname parameters to rapidwiz command.
    3.     Now what is the best approach to do next? Should I start the installation all over again but first do a clean up? Please direct me to the clean up document and to do an installation clean up? Is removing the E:\Oracle\VIS folder enough to clean the installation or are there registry keys and DB Services and other sort of things that I need to worry about?
    4.     Another approach is to add the E:\VCPlus\VC\bin in the PATH and run rapidwiz -restart? Would this be a good option?
I appreciate the help to this installation and I am kind of surprised that Oracle wrote their application on Linux even though they are a big supporter of JAVA. This is evident since you need the Cygwin and the Visual C++ compiler as a prerequisite to install the Oracle Applications?!
BTW, I have Oracle Database 11g installed on my machine already this is why I assigned it a different port by setting the port pool to three to avoid any conflict with the existing Oracle DB installation.

    Hi,
Please check and provide error from log at:-
    1. Was the copying of the Visual C++ Complier to Cygwin folder and the absence of E:\VCPlus\VC\bin in the PATH that caused such a crash. I admit the copying was a stupid move to say the leastI also think this is wrong move and copy will not link the libraries. Logs will tell you about it.
    For cygwin check below MOS:-
Note 414992.1 Using Cygwin to Maintain E-Business R12 on Windows
    2. If you need the logs file, please specify where I can find it. I went to E:\Oracle\VIS\inst\apps\VIS_r2d2 and only found a configuration file called conf_VIS.txt. This is obviously a >configuration text file and not the installation logs. So my question is this: Where I can find the installation logs? The document 121oaig (Oracle Application Installation Guide) did not mention >where to find these logs except how to start/restart your installation and pass the hostname parameters to rapidwiz command.Check for log files from below metalink note:-

    paste error here:-
    3. Now what is the best approach to do next? Should I start the installation all over again but first do a clean up? Please direct me to the clean up document and to do an installation clean up? http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B53825_03/current/acrobat/121oaig.pdf
to cleanup failed env, pls follow below MOS:-
How to Cleanup Windows Environment before Restarting a Failed Installation [ID 156487.1]
    I would suggest to:-
    1) Clean up exsisting env using MOS i mentioned above.
    2) Run MD5 checksup to test your stage area, check bleow MOS:-
MD5 Checksums for R12.1.1 Rapid Install Media [ID 802195.1]
    3) Make sure you have all the pre-req tools etc(check guide i mentioned).
    4) Start fresh installation.

  • Oracle 10g RMAN is not working in RHEL 4 after fresh installation

I downloaded Oracle 10g R2 from OTN at home for self study.
I have problem with the RMAN after fresh installation Oracle 10g in RedHat Enterprise Linux AS 4. (x86)
Everything seems works fine, database mounted including EM, SQLPlus, iSQLPlus etc.
But when I attempt to execute RMAN command on the terminal, nothing is happening. No RMAN prompt, No error message!
I ran the "relink all" command but no helps.
    Please advice.

I guess you are a common Linux 'victim', you don't invoke Oracle's rman, but a Linux executable:
    http://linux.about.com/cs/linux101/g/rman.htm
Check your PATH variable, you may move $ORACLE_HOME/bin to the top.

    Hi
This is a known problem with 10G Release 1. Why not install release 2?
I had the same issue last week and it turned out that the problem was that I was logged in as a domain user (with local admin rights). I created a local user on the machine with administrative privileges and used that user for the install and the database creation without any problems.

I have 30 day trial DVD from adobe, it is Master Collection CS4 and can't install it. Double clicking on setup.exe goes nowhere, just no response at all. You can see and hear DVD working, but nothing is happening, no response. I've been searching on forums, everywhere, no solution. Tried msicuu2.exe, also tried WinCS4Cleanupscript. Even registry cleaning tools. No progress.
It is HP Pavilion dv7, core 2 duo, 2.2GHz, 4GB ram, 320 GB Hard Drive, Windows Vista SP1 (fresh instalation).
Also tried with all current (july 2009) microsoft updates.
Obviously because it is a trial version I can't contact adobe support.
It is strange, I was able to install it on my old Windows XP laptop, but I can't do it on vista.
Strange is also that I can install separatelly 30day trials of Photoshop CS4 and After Effects CS4 from adobe.com.
As I said, this is fresh instalation, so there was no previous adobe product installed at all.
    Please help.

yes I expected as much.  But I wasn't getting any good answers on vista either.  I have several users who will be moving to 7 in the fall and need to see if it will work.  thanks for the response.
Since my last post, I may have found the answer (no thanks to Adobe).  Most of us having this issue are in using fresh installs of our OS.  Since the setup is very heavy Java, I downloaded the Java Runtime from Sun and POOF I can install now.  The error above went away and the install is running.  InDesign failed, but everything else has installed so far.  One would think that if the installer is so dependant on a Java VM being in place they would check for it and either prompt the end user or if an error occurs, post that in the error message.  But I have noticed that most of my Adobe problems in the past do not have good QA or error message support.  Usually I get a generic error message and am left to hunting for some kind of answer.
So to those who are having this issue.  Load or re-load your Java VM and try again.  That helped me.

  • [SOLVED] Pacman is broken on fresh installation

I've just performed a fresh installation that seemed to go fine, following the Official Arch Linux Install Guide.  However, I get the following during my first login:
    Arch Linux 2.6.39-ARCH (myhost) (tty1)
    myhost login: root
    Password:
    [root@myhost ~]# pacman -Sy
    :: Synchronizing package databases...
error: local database version is too old
error: failed to init transaction (database is incorrect version)
    try running pacman-db-upgrade
    error: transaction already initiated
    [root@myhost ~]#
I realize the error recommends that I run pacman-db-upgrade, but it seems very out-of-the-ordinary to encounter this error after having installed fresh with all default options.  Could someone give me a hand?

benash wrote:Thanks.  I appreciate the responses.  I ran pacman-db-upgrade, and that appeared to fix the problem.  I'm now having some trouble downloading packages (1 out of 10 seems to be failing), but I just found the documentation on selecting appropriate mirrors.
What exactly do you mean by "failing"? Please post the errors you get.
But first, grab a fresh mirrorlist http://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/ and try to update again.
I agree with picking an updated mirror. If packages are "failing," then the mirrors may be out of sync. Also, the list of mirrors included on the ISO CD may be out of date.

  • ORA-27102 IN FRESH INSTALLATION

    Hi Forum
I have a problem with the fresh installation my environment is:
Solaris10 and Oracle DB10g R2 and the box have 4Gb RAM
The installation can`t continue and stop in the Database creation 2% with the error message ora-27102, the manual quick installation say:
    ==========================================================
On Solaris 10, use the following procedure to view the current value specified for resource controls, and to change them if necessary:
To view the current values of the resource control, enter the following commands:
    # id -p // to verify the project id
    uid=0(root) gid=0(root) projid=1 (user.root)
    # prctl -n project.max-shm-memory -i project user.root
    # prctl -n project.max-sem-ids -i project user.root
If you must change any of the current values, then:
To modify the value of max-shm-memory to 6 GB:
    # prctl -n project.max-shm-memory -v 6gb -r -i project user.root
    ==================================================
But when I change the shm-memory and reboot the box, the value is the same default 998MB.
Please could anybody help me to resolve this problem
    Thanks and regards,
    Wilson

Please, could anybody know about this issue??

  • AIR installation problem

I had to repair XP and some of the programs need to be re-installed.
When trying to bring up TweetDeck, I'd get this message:  "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.  Please download the latest version at . . ."
So, I did, and the Adobe site says it installs successfully, but the problem didn't go away.
Then I tried to uninstall AIR to do a fresh installation and the same error message comes up.
So, while the software appears to have updated correctly, it is unusable by other Windows programs/features.
I'd be interested in any help that you can provide.

This is the forum for Adobe Reader.

  • U410 running really slow even after fresh installation

I bought an ideapad u410 a little over an year ago. It came pre loaded with windows 8. It had been running slow for some time. The machine would almost take 10 mins to boot up. Any time i try to access something for the first time, it would take almost 10 mins for it to open, be it files, file explorer, web browser, media file or any installed app or program. Once it opened if i tried accessing a second time, it didnt take long. I installed the lenovo solution centre and did a hardware scan to see if there is an issue with the hard disk or RAM or any other hardware. The scan came out clean with all the hardware tests passed.
I made a recovery disk and then reset the pc to get s fresh installation of the windows. I reset the system from PC settings. After getting a fresh installation when the problem persisted i reset the pc using the recovery disk. The recovery process took 30 hours to finish but that didnt solve the problem. When i tried to reset again it said that there is a partition error and partition could not be found. So i cleaned the hard drive using diskpart, made a primary partition and the. N formatted the HDD. When i tried to install windows 8 using recovery usb it says that it cant find active partition. So then i installed a copy of windows 7 which was very slow and took almost 3 hours to install. After installing windows 7 my laptop is still running very slow and it takes at least 5 minutes for me to access any file or to even right click and refresh the desktop.
How do i resolve this issue and how can i get a clean installation of the pre loaded windows 8 which i am not able to install from the recovery disk. In the beginning there was one drive of 1TB on which i created more partition to get 1 drive of 450 GB and another 200 GB using the default windows disk manager. Could this have led to the issue of the Laptop slowing down?

You might want to check the ssd cache by following the command shown in the picture.

  • Adobe Reader XI Installation Problem

I just performed a fresh reload of Windows XP SP3 on one of my computers. After downloading and running the installer for Adobe Reader XI I get the following error pop up:
    Internet Explorer Script Error
An Error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line:     1
    Char:    10570
    Error:    'ActionLaunchReader' is undefined.
    Code:    0
    URL:     http://127.0.0.1:2469/app/_js/adobe.js
Again I am running Windows XP SP3 with all the patches applied, JRE 7u10 (set as the default for both IE and Firefox), and scripting is enabled in Internet Explorer. I get the exact same error when trying to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player as well, however, Adobe Shockwave installed just fine.
I am new to this forum, so forgive me if this problem has been posted before. I did not find anything similar in a search. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
