  • Battery for Pavilion DV6 6170 Win 7 64 bit

from where can i purchase battery for  Pavilion DV6 6170 Win 7 64 bit in New Delhi, India or in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India.

    Hi drjainpulkit
You could search in this link for nearest HP authorised stores: http://m.hp.com/in/en/store-finder/index.do
You could also contact HP directly and ask for the nearest store address:
    Call: 18001801810
    HP online store: https://www.hpshopping.in/HpOnlineStore/Common/Online_contactus_page.aspx
    Email: [email protected]
    This is your product manual:
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842252.pdf
Go through page 10, 30-31 for the battery specifications and exact part number you've to buy. There are 3 battery capacities listed in the manual tested. You could go with any of them.
If you're under warranty and you suspect failed battery , you can contact HP directly with the error you've received, they'll probably replace it with no cost.
If you're not under warranty, you could also try searching for the battery in online stores like eBay, amazon, flipkart with the part number mentioned in manual, and get it online, which ever is cheap.

  • 48Wh 6-cell Battery for X250 ?

I am looking for the 6-cell 48Wh optional Battery of my new X250, to get ~10h work time at least.
According to http://www.pro-com.org/media/pdf/LENOVO-X250-Datenblatt.pdf there should be three different Battery options available.
I find only two of them, the 3-cell with 23Wh and the 6-cell with 72Wh.
Does the 48Wh Battery only exists on paper?

  • 3 cell vs 6 cell battery for Netbook

I am going to buy a Netbook in the next couple weeks and had a question about the difference betwween the 6 cell and 3 cell lithium battery. Things like weight and runtime especially.
    Thanks to all who reply.

The weight difference between different size Netbook batteries depends on the model. And also whether it is from a third party vendor which presents other issues (may not fit as well, and may not deliver advertised battery life0. The official manufacturer batteries are best, but at times I have dabbled in third party like for my Asus EEE where I bought the big 9-cell from the company in the Netherlands. It  looked very nice and does work, but never approached the longevity advertised and it also is tricky to latch on one side (and when your battery slips and you're not plugged in, it is a bummer).
Specs on weights are difficult to come by from third party companies as they don't want to scare off folks who have a svelte netbook. Original netbook vendors' specs are easier to find.
Some models of the Acer Aspire netbooks have a 2.19 pound 3-cell and a 2.78 pound 6-cell. A jump to a 9-cell may approach double the weight of a 3-cell. One thing to be aware of is the bigger battery is slightly uglier, so you pay for the extra juice. It may interfere with fully reclining the screen also although normal viewing angles are fine.
The question I have is...what Netbook are you considering? I have seen a few models (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Asus, Acer). Out of those I like the Asus and Toshiba best for battery life and reliability and the Dell and HP lagging a bit. I don't think I would buy an Acer based on some I have come across, but YMMV and the price is definitely attractive. In any case budget $50 to imemdiately pull the little 1 GB RAM module out and get a 2 GB replacement. It will be 15% faster and well worth it.

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion dv6-6042eo Entertainment Notebook Computer. Here is the HP Pavilion dv6-6042eo Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers page for your computer. Here are the most current AMD Chipset Driver (Chipset, SATA/RAID, USB 3.0).
If using the HP Recovery Discs set you created when you first setup your computer or an HP Recovery Disc set you ordered from HP, you shouldn't need any drivers to return the computer to a factory like state.
If you are trying to use a generic copy of Windows 7 to do a clean install, you also shouldn't need AMD specific drivers to complete the install. You may wish to see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" for instructions on downloading the Windows 7 SP1 Media Refresh image, creating the Windows 7 SP1 installation media, and installing Windows.
I reccomend using Windows SP1, as it has newer and more complete driver support. This may get you past the issue you are having. You may also wish to post images, as to aid us in assisting you.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-7010us Entertainment Notebook PC

My motheroarbd went out on my DV6 7010.
I had to wait awhile before I could get another MB so used the HD from it for another computer (HPG-60)
Now I am putting it back in my DV6 7010US.
The problem is it seems that the windows from my other computer is on this.
I am on it writing this (DV6 7010us) so can get online etc, but I wanted to re-install the oporiginal software that came with this computer.
I can't do a recover due to the stuff from the other puter being on the HD now.
I have a recovery disc set but thinks its for the other computer.
I have tried Windows and HP Updates, but still doesnt seem to reload.
I tried to get the website to auto detect and it said it couldnt detect this computer.
So no sure what to do. Am I going to have to order another set of discs, or do the discs I have work for almost all the HP laptops? The driver disc also, is it specific to a model or just general drivers?
I am downloading and installing all the drivers I can from HP driver download, but it still is not going back to the way it was.
    What can I do?

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr Entertainment Notebook PC -- No webcam detected

    My name is Sarah.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr Entertainment Notebook PC
    Model: A6Y00UA
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I first realized I had a webcam problem today when I tried video chatting on Skype. I do have a built-in webcam, as there is a lens above my screen with the words "HP TrueVision HD" beside it.
I opened CyberLink YouCam (it came standard with my laptop) and received this message:
From here, I found the Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) help page via Google. I followed "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer in Windows 7," but got no results. I followed "Can't find the webcam or webcam software," but got no results. I then followed "Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, etc.)," but got no results.
Next, I found the Testing a Webcam Using YouCam help page via search on the HP website. I followed the instructions until step 2 "Verify the webcam hardware is recognized in Device Manager" when I had to stop here:
I returned to the Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) help page and followed the instructions for "Webcam is not listed in Device Manager (Windows 7)," but again got no results.
I did not use Microsoft System Restore because 1) I don't know exactly when my webcam went from working to not working, and 2) I am unsure what a system restore will do in terms of me losing any data or programs.
If anyone has any advice or knows exactly what I need to do, I appreciate the feedback.

I would guess one of two things-either the webcam has failed or the cable that runs from the webcam is unplugged from the motherboard.

  • HP pavilion dv6-61 48nr Entertainment PC crashed and get error OxcOOOOOOf

Idifoblem with my pc-ware it had been hacked. Took it to a local businessman who agreed. Got it back and before I really cheup.ed it out--had a new router with a new password installed by internet provider. The IT who worked on it said he was going to "Reformat and reinstall windows". He called me to ask if I had backed up my personal files. I told him " no but remove everything ". He saved all kinds of files and reinstalled them. Within a day I started having problems again. I realized quickly that someone had remote access to my PC. Within a couple of days there was a hidden network set up using my router. My ISP said I was connected but I wasn't. They said it was my problem and should be reported. I was never able to get my settings to match the ones on his hidden network--naturally, since my pc was being remotely controlled. I was totally locked out of many files. There were a lot hidden, but I found a way to get them to show up. I could not get online and I got so angry that I opened the registry using the command regedit. This person probably thought I was too stupid to know anything. Anyway, I started deleting his files and crashed the PC. I had my back up discs and was going to reinstall. (Couldn't use them first time because whoever had hacked it had done something to the CD/DVD drive and it was stuck half open/half shut. The local guy put a used one in. I didn't check it before I deleted half the registry.
I ran the diagnostic tests and the hard disk passed, as did the memory test...both the quick and the full. So I put my recovery disk in and ggrrrrr it gave me the message "Status: 0xc000000f.  Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible."   At this point I was ready to destroy it...then I got on iPad, which I hate,  and did a search on the status/info I got and found hundreds had the same problem--all seemingly originating from different problems. Now I am wondering if there IS a way to restore it without spending a fortune on it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!  Lexi

    Hi @Lexi_25 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. Sorry to hear about you getting hacked and I will be happy to help with the “boot selection failed error message”. • HP Pavilion dv7-1020ea Entertainment Notebook PC

My HP Pavilion dv7-1020ea Entertainment Notebook PC is not working properly, can anyone help please?
problem description : After traveling with my laptop I started it without a power supply. It worked ok, but then when I plugged in the power the next day the power light came on on the side of the laptop but the battery power did not stop going down and the computer did not register the presence of a power supply. Once the battery power ran out the computer did not start up again.
Now when I start it the laptop sounds like it is booting up for about 5 seconds before it sounds like it powers down. The lights on the keyboard light up and stay lit, and the caps lock light flashes but nothing happens on the screen.
troubleshooting : I took the computer to PC World and the tech guys plugged it into a monitor and it didn't produce a signal. Also a tried removing battery and power supply and pressing the power button for 30 seconds and it did not work.
Can anyone give any advice please?
    Thanks very much,

If the catch is defective, take it back to Wal-Mart.
If there is a program or some back-ground task that's causing the problem, then re-installing the OS with the recovery partition may solve the problem.
Take it to a computer repair store and ask them if they have another drive around that you could try.  At least that would tell you if it's a hardware problem.
Most drives come out with one screw.
Also try doing a hard reset. Unplug everything from the laptop and remove the battery.
Hold the power button down for 60 seconds.  Only plug the adapter back in (do not install the battery at this point)
Boot up and the next time you shut right down, install the battery. Do not install the battery in sleep or hibernation mode.
I'm thinking a hard reset may stop what ever weird function or program that's causing the problem _ assuming that is the problem.
