22 million minute lockout ipod touch

My kids turned our ipod on and we got this ridiculous message.  After working on this all night I've gotten almost nowhere.  What is clear is that MANY people are experiencing this problem.  An explanation of why it is happening and more importantly a fix for it is in order.
After looking on the web I've figured out to totally delete the drivers in my computer.  At least my vista windows machine, on which the ipod is associated with itunes upon, will now recognize it correctly when plugged in.
Now when it is restoring and updating through Itunes i get an error because the new driver won't work.  Apple mobile device (recovery mode) is flagged as not working in my system properties.  I've restarted itunes with administrator priviledges and that isn't working, either.
If anyone has insight into this problem and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it.  Just please don't tell me to uninstall every apple program on my computer!!!  That would be a TOTAL pain in the ....!!!

And it wont go into recovery mode

  • Brand new iPod touch restarts itself all the time

Hello, my dad just came home from Japan, with a brand new iPod touch.
I managed to register it in iTunes, but when i updated the firmware i got an error message. I tried again and i think that i succeed. Then i started to sync music and the rest of the stuff. The syncing stopped after a minute, and when i tried to navigate on my iPod i realised that the touch screen didn't respond. So after several attempts, i made a hard reset.
But now, the iPod touch restarts itself. The Apple logo comes up, and then the screen turns off in a dramatical way, and then the Apple logo comes up again. If i hard reset my device again, the process continous.
I sometimes the iPod shows the "charge battery" screen, and then I can charge the battery. BUT after 5 minutes, the iPod touch starts restarting itself again. :S
Does anyone have a solution to this? Extremely strange.

I suspect you have a hardware problem. Probably a non-functioning battery (over or under) and causing a hardware reset. Bring it to an Apple Store for replacement.

  • Changing ipod touch to a different user

My husband just got an Iphone and I got his Ipod touch. How do I reset it so the email and itunes will be in my name and not his?

    Hi,
Just connect the iPod touch to the computer and click on Restore within the iTunes window. After some time (it will take some 10 to 15 minutes), the iPod touch will become clear and ready to assume a new identity. If you have another computer or a different account within the same computer, disconnect after restoring and reconnect when you get to your computer or after changing to your account.
I hope it'll solve your issue.

  • IPod touch 2g Crashes

Hi I have had my iPod touch for 2 years with out apple care and for some reason every 5 minutes my iPod touch would flash a white screen and then just die. I know apple cant do anything because I am out warrenty =( any suggestions?

Yep. That is exactly what I am thinking and I am certain that it is. You do have several Options at this point.
    1. Take it to an Apple Store for service
    2. Send it out to an independent repair shop which are all over the internet
    3. Or buy the right battery and install it yourself (This one is a tough one and do not recommend it unless you are extremely comfortable doing so. Several websites show how to do this job).

  • IPod touch 5.1 Wi-Fi Software Update doesn't work

    Hi.
My existing iPod touch (firmware 5.0.1) Wi-Fi connection to my router works fine.
However I tried to update to firmware 5.1 now. No success. The Software Update starts showing 174 MB to go, but the progress bar doesn't fill. After #5 minutes, the iPod touch shows a failed upgrade message.
When I connect this iPod touch to an iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot (which is connected via 3G to the Internet), the update starts!
Are there any known issues doing a Software Update using router?
    I use a FRITZ!Bos 7390.
    Thanks,

You have to restore and thus erase your iPod. that is how it works.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • HT1212 My IPod Touch is locked & I cannot enter password or even slide to unlock. Is there a way to correct this. It also says I can try again after 23 million or so minutes.

My granddaughter had not used her Ipod Touch for a few weeks & when she attempted to turn it on it was locked w/ a message indicating the Ipod touch was disabled & to try again in 23 million + minutes. I cannot even attempt to unlock it as the slid function does not work. Are there any ideas as to how to reset or correct this problem?

  • My iPod Touch has been locked out for 22 million minutes, and will not let me restore it?

I hadn't used my iPod in at least a few weeks prior to turning it on and charging it. After I did, it gave me a notification that said, "Disabled for 22, 311, 091 minutes." So I looked into it and decided to restore my iPod using iTunes on my computer. However, after attempting to restore it, it told me that I would have to enter a passcode on it. I do not have any access to other computers, and it won't connect to the Internet to use Find My iPhone unless I used voice command to access FaceTime -- which only works when it is unlocked. I know the password, but I really don't want to wait for a month or so to access it. How do I fix this?

  • IPod touch disabled for 23 million minutes and won't connect to iTunes

So my iPod touch has been dead for a while now. I bought a new charger and when it finally turned on it told me "iPod is disabled try again in 23,000,000 minutes". I've tried recovery mod but when I try connecting my iPod to the computer nothing happens. No message pops up, nothing.

    - Try Recovery mode and then restore a couple of more times.

    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
