3.3 RC - need camera profile for Nikon D7000?

I'm kind of a knucklehead about Adobe so please be patient with me....
I have a Nikon D7000 (not a D700).  Downloaded 3.3 RC and can edit my RAW pics - works for me.
But there are no profiles in the camera calibration.  What am I missing ?  Is it a Camera Raw update?
Maybe one of you folks can explain this to me.
Thanks, Michael.

No, Lightroom does not use the ACR plug-in.  The camera profiles are part of the Lightroom installation.  I don't have a D7000, but I recall reading in another thread that there was an Adobe Standard profile available.  My guess is that this is preliminary support until the other regular profiles can be created.  I might be wrong.

need camera raw for nikon d750 for Photoshop cs6

Support for the D750 was added in ACR 8.7. Go a head and update to the latest version: Camera Raw plug-in installer. I'm running the D750 and ACR 8.8 on CS6 myself, and all is well.

  • Camera Raw for Nikon D7000

    Hi
My Camera Raw in Elements 8 does not support Nikon D7000
    /Bertil

    Hi
My plan was to buy Lightroom version 4, (I hope that ACR in LR4
includes support for Nikon D7000) can I than (after ACR editing) open
the file in elements 8? and use the edit function in Elements8? what I
understand lightroom does not have edit functions like Elements have?
(but maybe it's enough woth ACR edit function) But just now the
problem with light room is that I use windows XP, and LR4 need Vista
    or Windows7.

  • Is there a camera profile for Nikon D80 available for Photoshop/Lightroom CC

I am new to Lightroom and Photoshop. After watching a few YouTube instructional video's for Lighroom I looked for my Lens (Nikon 18-135 Zoom) but could not see one. One video suggested looking in Photoshop, there I can find the lens but not my camera. Several video's talk about downloading profiles from the internet, is there a place to do this for either?
Is a camera profile even used in Lightroom ?

    Thanks, this workaround works:
I copied appropriate lens profile from (the .lcp file)
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0
    to:
    /Users/<my username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles

  • Camera profiles for Nikon D810 reveal posterization

The following profiles included with LR 5.6 & ACR 8.6 reveal noticeable posterization with the Nikon D810 RAW files.
    Camera Standard
    Camera Landscape
    Camera Vivid
    Camera Monochrome
For more details, there's a large discussion of the issue on DPReview.com, here
Additionally, shadow detail recovery in LR & ACR is less useable with the D810 RAW files. I am forced to use Nikon's Capture NX-D for better shadow recovery with accurate camera profiles, which significantly slows my workflow, as I prefer to do all imports and edits through LR & Photoshop overall.
As a point of reference, LR & ACR's handling of D800E RAW files is wonderful; however the D810 RAW handling is not quite there yet. On the D800E RAW, I'm able to move the shadow slider significantly, revealing more detail with no compromise to image quality. On the contrary, shadow recovery in the D810, using LR 5.6 & ACR 8.6, is less forgiving; increasing the slider will sometimes affect other elements of the image, producing a less pleasing result.
It would be be greatly appreciated if Adobe could address these issues in an upcoming update.
    Thanks,
    Rumi

It is possible that the shadow recovery problems are profile-related and Adobe redoing them might fix both problems, but if all Adobe-supplied profiles have the same issue rather than just the subset that also has posterization problems, then I’d suggest you make a separate post about the shadow recovery issue, including screenshots of what you see and example NEFs from the D800 and D810 taken in similar conditions for others to download and replicate the issue with.
That NX-D does something preferable to LR is probably not a good enough reason for Adobe to care, because the Adobe raw engine is not the same as the Nikon raw engine, as both are proprietary products known only to their respective manufacturers, so comparisons between Adobe handling of the same scene in different cameras were one is clearly bad, might have a better chance of being taken seriously.

  • CS-4 Camera Raw for Nikon D7000

Using the Help -> Update my CS-4 saya there are no updates available at this time.  However, Photoshop and Bridge cannot show images for the Nikon D7000 or the Nikon D3100.  The latest Camera Raw update (for CS-5) will not install in CS-4.  Short of buying CS-5 is there a way to update Camera Raw for CS-4?

Cs4 doesn't support the needed 6.3 camera raw plugin, but
you could use the 6.3 dng converter to convert your camera raw files to
the dng format so cs4 and bridge can read the files.

  • Camera Raw Profile for Nikon P7800

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
In Camera Raw, using a Nikon P7800 created NRW raw file.

    Only Matrix is available.
In Camera Raw, using a Canon G16 created CR2 raw file.
    Camera Calibration | Camera Profile
    Adobe Standard
    Camera Standard
    Camera Faithful
    Camera Landscape
    Camera Neutral
    Camera Portrait
Why does the Nikon NRW raw file only have Matrix as a Camera Profile
while the Canon CR2 raw file has 6 different Camera Profiles?
    Thanks in advance.

I reported the lack of Adobe Standard or any other Camera profiles for the P7800, 3 months ago and nothing changed with the final release of ACR 8.4 or LR 5.4, but perhaps by that time, new-camera support for ACR 8.4 and LR 5.4 had already been determined, but if it's not in ACR 8.5/LR 5.5 then someone has dropped the ball:

  • Lens profile for Nikon 18-105 1:3.5-5.6 urgently needed

Does anyone have lens profile for Nikon 18-105 1:3.5-5.6. Currently I don't have that lens, so I'm unable to create a profile on my own. Any help will be appreciated.

Nope, the settings has config info.  The downloaded profiles for ACR6.1 are located at the first path, and are the same as for CS5 lens correction.  I followed this process for both my 16-85VR and 55-200VR profiles, later deleted them, and then re-downloaded in an attempt to figure out the vignetting problem.  I did not see a 18-105 profile listed.

    P.S. I'm also running W7 64.

  • Where/how to obtain camera profiles for Adobe Camera Raw 7.3?

Where can you get camera profiles for ACR?  And how do you load them into ACR?  Is the Sony A77 on that list?  Need help on this one.  Thanks.

Adobe Standard is the only camera profile available for your camera, then, if that’s all you see.
Adobe only makes the so-called “camera-match” profiles, with names like Camera Standard, Camera Portrait, Camera Faithful, etc, for Canon and Nikon and a select few others.  I suspect there is a lot of work involved in these and they don’t do it for cameras they see as less popular or less used.
They wouldn’t be the same as the Camera-Match profiles from Adobe but you can create your own proilfes with an X-Rite 24-patch ColorChecker Classic and the Adobe DNG Profile Editor or using the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport package:

  • Could´nt find a camera profile for the M9.

I have just bought a Leica M9 but I could not find a camera profile for the M9. In the folder "application support/adobe/camera raw/" there is only a profile for the M8. Do I simply not see the profile or is there none. I am using Lightroom 4.4. and Camerea Raw 7.6. on a Mac.

It isn’t on the list but it produces DNGs with an embedded camera profile so it wouldn’t need any specific support from Adobe, I don’t think, so maybe they didn’t feel the need.
If you download the sample DNGs from KenRockwell, you’ll see an Embedded and an Adobe Standard camera profile, which don’t appear to be different because switching between them produces only the tiniest variation in the histogram.  If something equivalent to Adobe Standard is already embedded in the camera’s DNGs that there wouldn’t be any other Camera-this or Camera-that profiles to match, hence only Adobe Standard is supplied.

I'm looking for a lens profile for Nikon's AF Nikkor 24-50mm 1:3.3-4.5  The profile doesn't appear to be in Lightroom, does anyone have a suggestion of either how to get 1 included or a workaround.
Yes, it's an old lens, but a beautiful one.

Yay that's great news ... and thanks for such a speedy reply.
Didn't know about the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader ... so have just downloaded it for Mac and found the lens profile.
Appreciate your help ... it'll hopefully be great for correcting the distorion i need.

  • Camera profiles for Sony A700

    Hi,
I'm working in CS4 (Mac) and I downloaded the latest camera raw 5.6. I have only the Adobe standard, ACR 4.4 and ACR 3.5 in the Camera Calibration -Camera Profile.
I don't see special camera profiles for my Sony A700. In tutorials they showed profiles for Canon or Nikon. How can I get the profiles for the A700? Do they exist?
    Thanks a lot
    Claudine

    Hi Claudine,
At the moment these are the only profiles made by Adobe for the A700. You can build your own profiles (or edit existing profiles) using the free DNG Profile Editor, if you wish. Another solution for a custom profile is the ColorChecker Passport, from X-Rite.
