3.6.7 update won't finish downloading

Using FF 3.6.6 on XP SP3. FF started downloading the update. After about an hour (dial up connection) the progress bar was completely filled and the dialog box said only a few more seconds. However, the downloading had stopped and the dialog box remained open. Finally, I just quit FF.
Now whenever FF is open, in the Help menu it says "Resume Downloading Firefox 3.6.7..." When I select this, the dialog box says "Connecting to update server..." but it never connects and the downloading never starts.
How can I find the file that was downloaded and get rid of it so I can download a new copy?
== Operating system ==
XP SP3

Lou
I followed the instructions in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/627335 this thread], see the post from Costas Athan, and after closing Firefox 3.6.6 then deleting the updates folder plus the two xml files and restarting Firefox I was able to update successfully.

My film I rented from iTunes has frozen half way through downloading and won't finish downloading, any ideas?

TRy to close itunes by double tapping the home button then slide up all of the open apps and try again.
another option is to turn off your ipad, logout from your itunes account and try again downloading the movie. If it still gives you error, call apple support and ask for itunes agent to see if there is something wrong with the movie you are trying to download

I have downloaded Japanese calendar to my calendar already.  Can't I download more than one holiday calendar?

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • HT201272 my movie won't finish downloading

I just bought a movie through iTunes and it won't finish downloading on my iPad....anyone know why?

Check your purchase history to be sure you have purchased it.
You can click Store>Check for Available downloads to see if it is still waiting to download.
If not, then report the issue. Apple should resolve in a day or less:

  • The ipod won't finish downloading updates.

I am having trouble getting my ipod's (2 of them) and my iphone getting updates.  Here is the problem.  I connect them, click to update.  The computer says 4+ hrs to finish download.   All is well but it seems to stop when the computer goes to sleep.  As long as I messing on the computer, it all goes according to plan.  This happens to the phone and to each of the ipods so it has to be me doing something wrong.  The same thing happned when trying to restore an ipod.  It started and says going to take long hours.  Leave it alone and it just fizzes out.  What am I doing wrong??  Thanks!!!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Movie won't finish downloading and won't go away!

My daughter started a download of a movie and was planning on renting it for a single showing. The movie has never finished downloading and everytime my ITunes syncs up when I start the computer, the downloading resumes and then I get an error message. I really don't want this movie anymore and I have tried to delete it, but it always seems to come back. How do I kill it once and for all.

Try reset your iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

Double click the home button and bring up the multitask bar, swipe to the right until you see the play controls for music, right next to it is the lock icon for the orientation of the screen, tap on it to unlock. Close the task bar again by hitting the home button.

  • Mavericks Won't Finish Download

I've been trying to get OS X Mavericks to download on my 2013 iMac. When I go to the purchases page, it says it has 8 minutes remaining but that it failed to download. It's not on my launchpad at all and I can't figure out how to get it to finish downloading. I had no problems installing it on my Mac Air.

  • Need help with an app that won't finish downloading to my iPhone 5s

This app will neither finish downloading, nor will it delete. The app is called Google Translate. please help me. Thank you all in advance.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

I tried everything, restarting my computer, restarting my ipod, updating itunes and then retrying the update, NOTHING WORKS. if you have any idea on how can make this thing work please let me know!!!

What exactly happens when you connect the iPod to your computer and update via iTunes? Error message?
If the iPod is not responsive then:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT201272 A book I downloaded using iBooks seems to have frozen and won't finish downloading. What can I do to get it to resume?

It says its downloading but there is no progress what so ever.

    Hi Bradyfromidaho,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below should answer your question.
You can click on the link to see more details and screen shots.
I've highlighted the pertinent information for you below.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725?viewlocale=it_it
If your download was interrupted on your computer
You will be prompted to resume your download the next time you quit and reopen iTunes. You can also manually restart the download with the following steps.
    Resuming downloads from a computer
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
    Click the "Check Downloads" button.
Click the Resume or Resume All button, or the resume arrow to resume the download.
If you believe that the item downloaded completely but it is not appearing in the Purchased playlist, click Library on the left side of iTunes to see if the item appears there.
If your download was interrupted on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You can manually resume the download on your device with the following steps.
Resuming downloads from an iOS device
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes icon.
For iPhone/iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
    Click the "OK" button.
Click the Resume, Resume All button to start the download.
If you cannot complete the download on your device, you can finish the download in iTunes on your computer and then sync it to your device. For instructions, see the following articles:
iTunes Store: Where can I download and sync my purchases?
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    Additional Information
If your purchase does not resume downloading after following the steps in this article, you can also try the following steps to troubleshoot the download issue.
    Restart your computer or device.
Check for updates for your Mac or PC and install any software updates. Also, check for and install updates for any security software you may have (anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall, and so on).
If using Wi-Fi for Internet access, try using a different Wi-Fi network when downloading. If you are connecting to a home network, try restarting your Wi-Fi router. Also, check for and install any firmware updates for your Wi-Fi router. (Refer the manufacturer's website for your router to get information on updating its firmware).
If you are on a computer, try using an ethernet cable for wired Internet access instead of using Wi-Fi. If the issue is still unresolved and you're using iTunes for Windows, follow steps in iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • ITunes App Won't Finish Downloading. Help please.

I have been trying to download "The Bard's Tale" game app from iTunes for a couple days now. The app is 1.3gb in size. The download will start, but then it stops at 362.5mb and says "err -3259 The connection has timed out". I have the latest version of iTunes, the latest iPod update and a solid internet connection. I have also tried disabling my firewall completely with no success as well as disabling any antivirus software (which I don't really even have).
Also, get this: I tried downloading the same app on a friends computer (using the same wifi internet connection) and it still stopped at 362.5mb. I have tried everything. Other apps will download just fine on iTunes but this app won't. And it can't be the size because the last thing I downloaded before this was a 777mb iPod software update. Any ideas at all? Thanks!

Hi Do a Reboot Press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you will not lose any data. Cheers Brian
