3 min delay on search

Question

I have created a simple 2 page site with an Access database
in asp. When I search, the results come without a problem. If i
search again (same or different query) I get this error:
Error Type:
Provider (0x80004005)
Unspecified error
/msds/display.asp, line 15
If I wait for 3+minutes, I can search again without this
error, but again after the 2nd search, I have to wait another 3
minutes. This occurs when hosting the site on a server. There is no
connection problem or search problem if I run it locally. No error
messages appear. All System DSN connections are the same on server
and local. Any ideas?

Alexander,
Do you use column view in your Finder windows? If so, how fast of a Double-Click speed do you have set in the Mouse preference pane of System Preferences? I believe that the slower the double-click speed you have chosen, the more the Finder will seem to "lag" when selecting a different item in column view.
That 3 second delay after your first mouse click could be the Finder waiting to see if there will be any more mouse clicks before the end of the specified double-click interval. If there are more clicks, the Finder will know to group those clicks with the first one, thereby interpreting the entire event as a double-click, triple-click, etc. If there aren't any more clicks at the 3 second mark, then the Finder knows it was only a single click, and it will then "register" the click and show you the contents of the selected item in the column to the right.
The new user account most likely has the double-click speed to the default, which is fast enough so that the Finder doesn't seem to lag when you select items.
Try raising the double-click speed to a higher setting to see if that might help.
