Is it possible to connect my laptop to a Digital High Def. Plasma TV. The model TV is a Panasonic . TH-37PX60U. If so where on my laptop do I connect to and what type of cable/adapter do I need.

Install Disk for Windows XP/License information 3000 V100

My hard drive is having some problems. It is working but my paging file is not working. Once my ram is used up my system starts having resourse problems. I have ordered a replacement hard drive. I will try to reimage my hard drive but I am afraid it won't reimage properly and will have to reinstall XP professional. Where do I get the original operating system software? My original license information on the bottom of my Lenovo 3000 V100 have rubbed off. So where can I get the install disk or software for XP professional and also get all of my original license information?

3000 v100 random shutdown

Hi all: I think some one already posted a similar problem but it was a n100 notebook. I have had the v100 for over a year and my battery has also died. But the problem is not that. Problem is that even on the AC adaptor, the notebook shuts down randomly, some times a few minutes after booting ang some times a day after booting. There does seem to be a correlation with how many apps I am running with the shut downs. The laptop does get very hot on the left side where the fan is. I have tried the compressed air to see if the fan was plugged with dirt. Didn't seem to helpl so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did instal temprature monitor software but do not know what the normal range is and what constitutes a "high" temp for the processor.

I have a similar problem but with a slight difference.
I have two users using Lenovo's 3000 v100 laptops of type: 0763-27U.
Both laptops experience daily shutdowns around 11:30am to 12:15pm.
It happens daily, whether I take the battery out and leave it plugged with the AC Adapter.
Also they can leave the laptop ON with no apps running on it and it will still shutdown everyday around the same time.
Any suggestions?

Windows 7 on Lenovo 3000 V100

I had 100% success installing Windows 7 Professional 32bit on my 3 years old Lenovo 3000 V100, model 0763-46G (Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz, RAM upgraded to 2GB, HDD upgraded to 250GB).
Almost everything works out of the box in Windows 7 (USB, LAN, WiFi, Audio, Sleep, Battery Indicator, Fn Hotkeys, Bluetooth, SD Card Reader, DVD burner), except of the webcam, which requires a driver to be installed, touchpad works, but the driver is required for advanced features such as scrolling etc.

I just upgraded to windows 7 pro from vista. Everything seems to be working fine except the webcam. I installed the driver below:
Bison Webcam driver for Windows Vista v6.32.0.2 works perfectly in Windows 7: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-68283.
The OS sees the integrated camera, but it doesn't work. The green light above the lcd comes on.
When I run the integrated camera application, it starts and I get a message that ffdshow is unavailable, then
when I click OK and try a screen capture, i get an error 80070003.

Premature death of battery--3000 V100

Ever since I got my Lenovo 3000 V100, a little over a year and a half ago, the computer has run too hot to actually put on my lap. Last week, much to my surprise, the battery (the one with extended time) refused to charge anymore. Of the half dozen notebooks I have owned in the past, none has ever had a battery problem. Thus, I checked for a recall notice. There wasn't one. One hundred and twenty-seven dollars later, I have a battery that works fine--and an amazingly cool (literally) computer sitting in my lap. Because the original battery ran hot from the get-go, I have to believe that either the battery or the computer was faulty to begin with. I'm a little nervous that another meltdown is just around the corner. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Donna, while searching the web for an issue with my Lenovo 3000 V100 laptop battery no longer charging, I found your post. I have noticed my V100 seems to run hot on the bottom before, but now--about 22 months into its life, my battery has died.
I have been resisting buying a new battery b/c I'm not sure that's the issue, but it sounds from your post it may be.
My symptoms: plugged in, the laptop works fine. I can pull the battery out (FRU P/N 92P1220) and it is currently completely cold. If I plug it back into the laptop, the "charging" indicator shows in the systray/power meter, but then 2 seconds later, it stops showing "charging" and the battery won't charge. It sat for 12 hours without charging. I assume since laptop works without battery when plugged in, that the problem isn't the power adapter, but I will check the voltage later with a multimeter as I read in another thread.
So, a question to the Lenovo pros: before I drop $150 on a new 6-cell battery, is there any way to be sure it's not a charger circuit gone bad inside the lapp, without needing a friend with a lenovo battery to verify? Or, of I do buy a new battery but that's not the problem and the new battery won't charge as well, can I return the battery for a refund, since I'll need to replace the laptop at that point? Thoughts?

T7200 in Lenovo 3000 V100

Can I update a Levono 3000 V100 with a T2500 CPU to a T7200 CPU so I can run windows 7 64 bit OS? Anyone running 64 bit Windows on this type of machine?

Looking at THIS Lenovo web page, the answer is yes, since
the T7200 was an optional cpu for V100.
If you do the upgrade, let us know how it goes.

Problems with integrated camera of lenovo 3000 v100

A have a problem with the camera of my notebook, when I open the camera the image that it show me in the screen of the notebook it's a many colors, the light afects the image and it apears to be green an some metalic colors. I already tryed to instal the driver but it didn't work, can some one help me??

Lines, it would be better to get a new battery. Search online with battery FRU number or call Lenovo to purchase from Lenovo.
I would suggest you buy a wireless usb adapter too which won't cost much more than the headache.
It's not the brand, batteries can be unpredictable, as any electronic product can be. I had been using my laptop for last 2 years and it has been doing perfectly fine as it was when i got it; except for the battery which was battery manufacturer's problem i guess.

Non-branded Cell Batteries for Lenovo 3000 V100

the orignal 6 cell battery from lenvo is for 140 $. but there are few available on ebay that are alot cheaper. one of them is from Nova PCs. It is for 51 $. I am reluctant to buy it though. plz can anybody share the experience like how is the quality and life of this battery or any experience with other non-branded batteries.

Lenovo 3000 V100, problems with integrated Camera

Hello,
I bought this Lenove a couple of years ago ( autumm 2007 ).
equipped with Windows Vista, Location=Swedish.
Since then I have had problems with the camera, on and off.
The Camera was not working when I got home, I then got help from
the support desk. Then later on it stopped working, now it is only showing a black
box - either it could be after a Vista update or after a Lenovo update - I don't know.
Is there anyone who could help me out here.
Would like to use that camera, since it is integrated.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the integrated camera is not getting enabled even after trying to install the drivers for the camera. I suggest you to make sure the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) is installed in the computer, if not please download it from the below link by selecting the exact Model Type of your G580 Laptop:
Drivers and software - Lenovo Ideapad Laptops
Then press Fn + Esc after installing the LEM in the computer this is the shortcut key to Turn on/off the integrated camera, now install the drivers for the integrated camera from the above link. But while installing while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Power Connection

I have a lenovo 3000 v100, which fell on the floor. It landed on the power connector, breaking the inside part of the connector on the computer. Anybody know if this is a part I can purchase and replace (I'm assuming it's soldered to the mobo, but I haven't yet pulled it apart)? Or does it require me to buy a new motherboard? In either case, is there a place I can get parts? How about an external battery charger (haven't seen one for this model). Any ideas appreciated.

Since the iPod Classic does not come with a "power supply" (it only comes with a cable), the first question is what exactly are you plugging the iPod into? If you are using a third party "power brick" it may not work with the Classic. Since the iPod charges when connected to your computer, it is unlikely that the issue is with the iPod's connections.
It's best to use peripherals manufactured by Apple or other well known brands (Belkin, Griffin, etc.). "Generic" peripherals may not work, or may even damage your iPod.

V100 Modem Problem

Hi All
A lenovo 3000 V100, and I think my modem is fualty.. please check it out..
When I was trying to dial up or send a fax a funny noise came up from the modem, there was no idle sound or anything like it,
then an error appeard "Loop current to high....... " and asked me to check the line, the modem box reported a poor line quality.
The line is ok (it's my ADSL...). while trying to dial up even without a cable connected, the modem makes a bad noise for a second ..

please check the modem with another line.
ADSL line provides digital signal which can be heard as noise on analog (fax) line.
I have got from my ADSL provider in installation set together with modem also filters which allows connect analog telephone or fax to the ADSL line.
I don't know whether it help or not anyway you can try.

Lenovo 3000 and a secondary monitor

I have a Lenovo 3000 V100 Laptop. I want to use a secondary monitor/display. I see the display on both the primary and secondary monitors until windows finishes booting and then the secondary monitor goes blank. I try FN F7 to no avail. I am using windows XP. I assume this is a setup problem.

Not having your exact model, try this.
Go to your desktop display.
Position your pointer over part of the display without any icons, open windows, or tasks.
Right click.
A menu should appear, click on "Properties" or "Graphics Properties" whichever is on the menu. This should open another menu, one tab on which can be selected to allow you to display the same thing on the internal and an external monitor. The graphics adapter software on my Lenovo displays its menu this way. I'm not sure if going through the Control Panel selection will get you to the same point.

Can i connect an external display using HD3000 after the discrete gpu has stopped working?

Say for some reason the HD 6490m is fried and I can only use the HD 3000; will I be able to connect the laptop to an external 1080p display via thunderbolt?
Technically it should work, i know. But i've tried it with gfxCardStatus 2.3 and nothing happens until i allow the radeon to work. My question is: after the amd stops working, will the computer allow the HD 3000 to connect to an external display? Is there some kind of limitation so that only the 6490m can use the thunderbolt port?

So i assume this is because Apple uses a custom processor or because of the motherboard that inhibits it somehow, right? I'm asking that because some hd3000 chips in other systems are able to support a second display.

Subsequent drop in no. of Socket connections

I have created one application which uses lots of threading and socket connections (Both TCP and UDP).
I am using Linux Server with following configuration
1. Quad core processor
2. 8 GB RAM
3. Enough bandwidth for 10,000 simultaneous connections
In this application I need to connect to more than 5000 different Servers at a time. But I could not succeed . The application is quite stable with around 3000-3500 connections and works fine in all aspects.
Now when I tried to connect to 5000 connections it becomes quite unstable .
Initially it was showing that Out of memory Error . Then I changed some VM arguments .
My current VM arguments are

You should be able to support around 1,000 - 3,000 threads with an up to date version of Linux.
I think you have done very well if you have one thread per connection.
If you want more connections you need to use non-blocking io and then you should be able to cut the number of threads to one or two per CPU.
