4.3.2 iPhone upgrade and dropped calls.

Since upgrading to the 4.3.2 OS three days ago, I've been experiencing numerous dropped calls on the order of one every minute.  Calls linger in limbo before connecting and then drop.  Antena signal reads 3 bars.  I'm missing calls too.  I live in the same area and have NEVER had a problem with dropped calls until this update and it is really causing problems.  Why?  Is the phone failing?  Is this an update problem?  Is this a network problem?  Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am experiencing the same issue here in Germany, Network is T-Mobile.
Since upgrade to 4.3.2 I have dropped calls regularly with my iPhone4!!
This is getting more and more annoying.
What happens is: I am starting a call or am receiving a call. The call stays up for 1-5 minutes. During that time (randomly differs from 30 seconds to 5 minutes) all of a sudden the person on the other side does not hear me anymore! I am still able to hear him/her! After around 5-10 seconds after that happening, the connection is lost/cancelled. This is happening independently of the amount of bars, meaning it does not matter whether I am having 5, 3 or just one bar.
Please Apple solve this!! I cannot use my phone anymore the way it is supposed to work! Never had this issue before the upgrade in the same places - in fact, before the upgrade, I did not experience ANY dropped call whatsoever!!
BTW: I tried reboot, reset of all settings, backup, etc. - no positive effect.

  • HELP!! My iphone 6 keeps dropping calls and I have a verizon extender

    Hi,
My iPhone 6 my Carrier is Verizon my iPhone 6 has been dropping calls I think it’s only when I’m home and also we have a cellphone booster aka Verizon Extender and it does connect to that also but when someone calls me it connects then drops right away and then I try right away to call them back and then the call goes though. I have tried a hard reset on my iPhone 6 I have tried just by turning on and off the airplane mode and I have tried resetting the network settings which I just did. I thought of maybe doing the part when you take your sim card out and put that back in but I have not done that yet! I don't know what to do if this keeps happing it is really annoying! Can you please help me! Thanks Also I have looked online of how to fix it but have not come up with anything yet

  • Is anybody having drop-out and dropped call issues?

    hi
i'm on my second 8gig iphone and am still having (after 2days) horrible drop-outs on almost every call and dropped calls. the signal is showing full strenght-4bars while this is happening. any ideas? my previous cell (blackberry on att) had perfect reception at all times at same location. drove through the neighborhood this afternoon and same thing. i areas where i used to get perfect reception i now get drop-outs.
    thx,
    mk

you are correct - hence my previous post that my att reception on my previous phone - a blackberry in exact same locations - was perfect. on the other hand i think this must be an isolated incident of bad luck receiving 2 phones in a row that have bad reception. i met at least 10 people at the apple store on friday night that live in my area (within 1/2 mile) and nobody has complained (so far) about reception issues and dropped calls.

  • When is apple going to fix the "no service" and dropping calls on iPhone 4s?

My iPhone 4s keeps losing signal dropping calls and displaying no service when is apple goin to fix these issues what ever about a weak battery I think these other issues are far more important

Since you said MY IPHONE the answer is that Apple is never going to fix it unless you call them or take it to a store for diagnosis. MY IPHONE has none of these problems. And it doesn't have a battery problem either.

  • 1.1.3 and dropped calls: Less mW (milliwatts)?

I've continued to wonder about what could be causing my dropped calls in the same spots along I-84, and a "No Service" showing up at my house when before I had 3 bars.
The number one gripe anyone has ever had about the iPhone since day 1 is it's battery performance.
If Apple decided to reduce the overall mW transmit strength in favor of reduced battery consumption, this would entirely explain why calls continue to show on the display as still being connected because the phone is still getting a good RX signal from the tower, while the TX drops out trying to unsuccessfully re-establish the connection.
The person on the other end of the call will often say they lost me at a certain point in a conversation about 1 minute after the call drops. Which of course means I have to repeat everything I said for a minute's worth of a dropped call. Hello annoying!
Are there any benchtesters out there with the right kind of equipment to compare 1.1.2 mW transmit strength vs. 1.1.3 mW transmit strength with an established call to the same number from the same location?

Ok I am sitting in the basement with 2 friends watching football. They both have
4 bars and I have 1or none. All 3 phones are 3Gs phones about a week old or less.
I showed them redlaser and they both tried to get it from the app store but couldn't.
The message was they needed to update their software. They had not synced their phones
yet and I had! So did 3.1.2 make my reception worse. 3.1 sure screwed up my old phone.
The Apple ads making fun of Microsoft aren't as funny as they once were.....seems Apple
has it's own problems to me.

  • Iphone 4 constantly dropping calls or "call failed"

I've been having nothing but trouble the past couple weeks with dropping calls or getting the "failed call" showing up when trying to make a call. It happens more times than not and i spoke with Apple today and was told that after you try all the resets and restore options it should be fine. If that doesn't work, its more than likely a SIM card issue and needs to be cleaned or replaced. I did all the restore and backup and all the other garbage they advised me to do, and still did not work. Took the SIM card out and im not sure if its supposed to sparkle in the light, but its pretty **** clean. Re-inserted it, and still dropping calls or "call failed". Next option is getting a new SIM card tomorrow and i'll update what i find out.
Previously, in July, some moron from Canada was beaking how its a service issue and he's on Rogers network, blah blah blah and he's never dropped a call and its superior to AT-T and mentioned something about how all the ppl would have no trouble if they were on the Rogers network.
Well i'm from Canada and work with 2 other ppl, surprise, from Canada who are having the same problem with the iphone 4........its not a network thing whatsoever, because ppl on Telus and Rogers are having the same problem. Im assuming he was from Toronto where the center of the universe is and he was basically just being an idiot, so for that moron, i apologize to ALL who are having issues with the iphone 4 and hopefully Apple gets their act together and solves this issue!!

Hey everyone, I think I finally got the solution for this. It appears to be a NETWORK ISSUE with the phone provider. I am a Telus subscriber and after speaking to a cool tech guy from Calgary named "Corey", he performed the following task:
He told me he had to reset 4 settings on the network for my account. A few of which were under something called "STF viewer" "PLMN" and "PRL"...
Aftewards, I had to go to my iphone: General > Reset > Reset network settings
I am now able to complete phone calls (and apparently my reception sounds better to my call recipients/callers too). The problems is not related to a "faulty device" or "something" you did... If the problem happens again, I'll call my provider and have them investigate the ticket further as it could be a bigger network issue (with GSM) but chances are it just requires a simply settings reset on the backend of your provider's data support team.
After doing the reset, all I had to do was reconfigure my wifi password. No other settings were lost. (and more importantly, I didn't have to re-restore my iphone, didn't have to go to Apple and sound like one of those "iPhone 4 vs HTC cartoon characters" and didn't have to yell like a child to anyone. Just be cool when you call your provider's tech people, these guys are good hard working people and will help you and will have a better chance at success if they empathize with you and don't feel annoyed by you (I'm in IT, I know how it is).
I was also told that if I had to call back and if they had to reinvestigate, the next steps would probably involve having my SIM card changed but based on the previous tech's experience, it would be highly unlikely. I will update you further should I encounter any further issues. Just don't be hating on the iPhone 4 as most people do coz it is a sweet device if you can understand the tech specs behind the underlying issues.
Hope this helps you guys and anyone else who got frustrated by this problem!

My 3G constantly drops calls...it is almost of no value to me. Every single call that come in to me...within 10 seconds I will hear 3 beeps in ear and then the call is dropped. Any ideas...?

Call AT&T to see if there is a local network problem
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    Replace SIM card from AT&T
    Disable 3G - Settings > General > Network > Enable 3G > OFF
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    Restore as a new iPhone
Get phone checked out at an Apple Store Genius Bar

  • IOS 5 problems - Voicemail/Missed and dropped calls

I'm using the Iphone 4 and recently updated to the IOS 5.  I have not had any issues with the iphone prior to the update.  Now I experience calls going directly to voicemail without ringing.  I have numerous dropped calls.  When I try to get the voicemail it dials the voicemail as opposed to the voicemail playlist that normally comes up (I eventually get access to the playlist after up to 20 minutes after a call is received).  Any help, answers?

I'm having the same issue but I have the 4s and I'm on Verizon. Sometimes the VM won't even come in until I shut the phone off and power on again.
If you find out what it is let me know! I'll post this question again, too.

  • New iPhone upgrade and messed up backups

I upgraded four iPhones recently, and I backed up all of the phones to my computer, then did a restore from previous backup. All went well until today, when I wanted to back up my iPhone, when I noticed that it was backing up every new phone that I bought. I checked the summary and it showed all apps from all the other phones being backed up, which was strange, but, I then deleted all of the previous backups from iTunes, then backed up the old phones again and then tried to do a restore from previous backup, and it was still restoring all apps from all phones. If anyone has any idea of what happened or how to correct it so that each individual phone backs up and restores only what is on that phone. Thanks in advance.

Try ti reinstall the iOS software so it is AS a ny iPhone and the install the back-up to the iphone. And rember that you Can mack the back-up to icoud. on the iPhone and that Way when you signet in to yous Apple acount on yous iPhone Can get the back-up

  • Blocked Contacts for iPhone 6 and the call-waiting distinctive ringtone

Does anyone know if you block a contact on an iPhone 6 and you both have Verizon, will the call waiting distinctive ring still work (The caller hears a ring and beep if you are on the other line)? Or does it only work for non-blocked contacts? Thanks!

        Hi 808iphoneuser,
Unwanted calls can be annoying! Just to clarify, which block are you using? There is a block that comes on the iPhone 6 that can be placed via the device, or have you placed the VZW Call & Message block  http://vz.to/MqEgqB  on that number?
    Thanks,

  • When do you know you have a problem with your phone and dropped calls?

My iphone 4 hasn't really been a problem but I've noticed and all the people who call me notice that my phone is dropping a lot of calls. It's almost dropping every other call, and that is awful should I go back to the store and take it back? I don't want to waste anyone's time or should I be angry. I try not to get ****** over a phone but my 3GS never did this.
    Marc

You have 30 days to decide. Albuquerque has good to moderate 3G coverage. It is possible that ATT has again been overloaded with a mass of new phones and may need to make adjustments to their service. I am lucky to live in S Florida where coverage is great. However, if your coverage was marginal to begin with you may have trouble. I would let it sort itself out by July 24 the 30 day mark for most and decide than. The only thing to be mad about is not being able to have the phone you want at this time. In spite of what appears to be a large vocal group on this forum, who are really have problems, most of the 1.7 million phones are not. Again see what plays out in your 30day trial and make your decision accordingly.

  • Verizon wireless sucks no reception and dropped Calle hell I can't even send texrs. I'm going back to T mobile and they can have their note 3 or I will crush it.

Reception sucks 98391 and they said they would look in to it. I'm not paying for something that doesn't work.

I can't send texrs either, maybe my phone is defective? However, my texts go through swimmingly!
I actually have crappy reception INSIDE my home due to the new green materials being used. All phones drop connection in my home. Walk outside and you get 4 bars. I wish I didn't have to buy the in home calling extender, my roommate got his for free from t-mobile. Also Verizon removed the VOIP calling from may SGS5 which would have saved me a lot of hassle.

  • HT4528 Is there any way to get rid of the recent iphone upgrade and revert back to default settings? Since upgrading I have experienced nothing but problems with Siri.

Since selecting the prompt to upgrade my iphone4s, I have experienced significant problems.  The "old" Siri disappeared and the new one is slow, ineffective and unavailable much too frequently.  The faded colors on my iphone screen are also troublesome.  I wish that I could revert back to the default settings
on my iphone4s.  Has anyone else experienced the above problems?

Apple does not support downgrading to a previous iOS.
You might first try a reboot:
press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple icon is displayed, then let go.
    If it doesn't help,  try
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settiings.
