4:3 to 16:9 at this point?
Hi!
I am working with a video project in Final Cut Express.
I imported 4:3 videos and 16:9 videos.
Since I didn't preset the 16:9 format for the whole project, I still have 4:3 and 16:9 videos in the same timeline.
Can you help me please? Can I still change the settings so that all the 4:3 videos turn to 16:9?

You can easily change the sequence settings in the browser, when in List View (select the browser and then View/Browser Items/as List): just toggle the sequence Anamorphic field; a checkmark should appear and the canvas window show a 16:9. Note that after this modification you'll see the 4:3 clips stretched horizontally and 2 dark grey bands on top and bottom of the window, whose size is left unchanged. To change also the canvas window size you have to reset the window (e.g. using ctrl-U or similar); this will remove the 2 grey bands and adapt the canvas and viewer windows to the new form factor.
But I'm not sure I understand: currently you are editing 4:3 and 16:9 clips in a 4:3 sequence. This means 4:3 clips are using the full frame, while the 16:9 clips are letterboxed (have top and bottom black bars). Is this really your case ? If so you must decide whether this is OK for you, or if you prefer to have a 16:9 sequence with a mixture of 4:3 and 16:9 clips. If so use the tip above; if not keep the current settings.

Hi all- I'm new to this online community of Apple support; my iPhone 5s is stuck on a screen that has the connect to iTunes icon, this started after I upgraded to IOS 8.1.1 from the beta to fixed version; I don't use iTunes and have an IPad, home PC, office PC, and Galaxy Tab, and I went through (failed) the process of installing itunes on my office PC but needed to update windows; after going through all redommendations I could find, including Apple phone support, I still haven't had success. Does anyone know a way to get my phone past that screen? I downloaded the new IOS 6 on my IPhone 3Gs as it prompted me to do so. so that took 45 mins then told me to connect to Itunes in which i did, then it took 39 mins for itunes to "restore" my phone and after the 39 mins it told me Apple unable to restore IPhone and shut me out. Next a screen popped up on my computer screen and said that i could report the problem to Apple if i wanted to. But at this point my phone is completly locked out. So all i get from my phone right now is the Apple on the screen and the download bar under it and or a block screen if i unplug it and the battery dies. which when i did the upgrade my phone was just off a fresh charge! i need help like ASAP i leave out of town on thursday it is monday and i need a phone with GPS and that can make calls! i am pregnate and have a 2 year old i am traving with and we have no house phone so my phone is very important! THANKS!

Several attempts to upgrade to iTunes 11 have failed. After an upgrade to 11 the error message reads: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly." At this point--after the upgrade to iTunes 11--my PC running Windows XP loses audio playback for all functions--in iTunes, in the browser and the volume icon disappears from the System Tray. Only by removing iTunes 11, and then using System Restore to turn back the OS settings can I return the PC to normal functioning.
I did that. I reinstalled iTunes 10.5. Everything seemed fine, but when I try to plug in and copy a CD to my iPhone 4S an error message reads roughly: 'iPhone 4S requires iTunes 10.5 or higher to work.'
What might be the problem with my audio configuration?
Why doesn't my iPhone 4S work with iTunes 10.5? It used to work with iTunes 10.5.
Please advise.

In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in

I HATE my new MACBOOK PRO, it will not let me open any PDF files and I downloaded the ADOBE READER three freaking times and it keeps saying that all the files are corrupt or damaged. I would rather have my 2008 Dell at this point. what is wrong with this thing
Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder. -
I created a pdf form and then imported it to Forms Central for distribute. It is now loaded to my website and setup so a person clicks on the link to open the form. At this point they then have to go to upper right to open form using a different view. I would like the form to open directly in Adobe Reader form to make it easier to enter information. Thanks, Ike
If you created it in Forms Central, you have to edit it there. I believe Forms Central is similar to LiveCycle Designer in that the form created is no longer able to be edited in Acrobat. I might be wrong, but that is my understanding. You add the submit button in Forms Central. Within Acrobat, you should be able to go to the forms menu and Manage Data to save the data to an Excel file. Others better with forms should be by to clarify things, but this should get you started. In the future you might find it better to post a forms question in the forms discussions.

We've installed a new Audiocodes Mediant 1000B gateway for our customer. They only have about 6 users enabled for Enterprise voice and using Lync for all calls. They have an intermittent problem whereby the first call attempt to a number on the
PSTN fails with 12000; reason="Routes available for this request but no available gateway at this point". There is only one PSTN gateway installed. All routes point to this gateway. What I found initially is that the calls
were failing after 10 seconds which is the default "failovertimeout" in the OutboundRouting.exe.config. I found this post http://voipnorm.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/lync-2010-gateway-timeout-call-failures.html and
changed the value to 20 seconds. Subsequent failures failed after 20 seconds (the new value). The interesting thing is that the second attempt even a couple of seconds later succeeds. My Lync server event log has 46046 "A call to a PSTN
number failed due to non availability of gateways." for the failed call and 46047 "A PBX gateway is now responding to requests after some failures." for the successful call moments later.
My environment is Lync 2010. A single enterprise edition Front End with collocated mediation. The server is virtual and in a different physical location to the gateway. The two sites are connected via a LES1000. The RTT between the
sites is very low so it isn't necessarily networking.
In the Syslog output on the Audiocodes we don't see the call even reach the gateway. It's likely that Lync has simply marked the gateway as down and doesn't route the first call. Then it wakes up and marks it as up and routes the next call.
Update wise I'm on 4.0.7577.183, 199 and 217 for those that are up to date and the only components that are behind say that 223 is available. Those being Core Components, Lync Server, Conferencing Server and Web Components.
As I said, this is intermittent, apparently doesn't happen for every user (which I don't buy), but is easily replicated on request.
I definitely think changing the failovertimeout value has reduced the number of failures. But realistically I don't want users sitting there for 20 seconds before their call fails. Or 19 seconds for the call to route.
I've found a few posts on this and similar issues. I don't get the 25051 or 25052 errors.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

I installed this OS, and it looks nice, but it's terrible to use. I randomly have the volume controls get disabled, and sometimes the volume menu in the system tray does nothing when adjusted which I've never seen in an OS before. The trash won't empty. When I try to drag and drop newer files over existing ones, nothing happens. The old ones just stay there. I have to delete the old ones and then move the new ones. And when I go into the protected files to manage audio plugins (I make music), the first thing I hit are error codes galore, and password prompts that either don't popup when they should, or don't execute the command after I provide my password.
What can I do now that I installed the flames of **** onto my computer?Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar. -
In activating Photo Stream in iPhoto on my iMac, I followed the instructions up to this point: 2. Click Turn On Photo Stream (on the right). There is nothing on the right. So, how do I now turn on Photo Stream?

I updated ipad 4.3 to io7 but now when I go to set up it keeps asking me to restore - I have done this from itunes several times but it still gets stuck at this point in set up - help!
All media and apps should be in iTunes on the computer. Simply select the content desired to sync to the device and sync it.
FYI, backups have never included media or apps.

I have two arrays of points, when i plot them there´s an intersection point, but this point doesn´t belong to any arrays. I need to find the both value of this point, X and Y. I attached my problem in a very simple example. Thanks.

It generates a Boolean array that indicates between which indecies an intersection has taken place. Then, all you need to do is use triganometry to work out exactly what the intersection point is.

when I close firefox, it will not allow me reopen it unless I CTRL-ALT-DLT and force it to actually close, which at this point it is using up an average of 300,000k-450,000k. also, almost none of the links I click, open. i have to right click and open in new tab.
