And idea on what is causing this? This OAS installation is not new. It's a test setup so I don't check it often but it was working as far as I knew.

"500 internal server error" when trying to use F4 help in the variable sele
Hi Experts,
I am getting "500 internal server error" when trying to use F4 help in the variable selection screen (in WAD).
How could this be resolved?
Quick reply would be very helpfull.
Thanks in advance !!It seems you are using wrong client ID. Make sure your logon pad has right details. You should verify this with your basis team.
If the problem persists then try re-installing. But before you do that you can execute sapbexc.xla which is in the c:\program files\sap\bw. Type c:\ in cell c3 and click "start button". Any red flag means you have wrong version dll/ocx on your local drive, in that case you should reinstall with right patches.
if this solution helps u then pls assign points -

500 internal server error when trying to create users
I am getting a 500 internal server error when trying to create users. What is the cause? We tried reinstalling the latest java jdk release and that didn't help.
Check whether your DBControl or ASControl service is still running or crashed. EM is not able to connect to the Management Server.
For instance in Windows, you may see that the Servise is not started. Then check for error logs in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/logs for any related error messages in the log files -

Error 500--Internal Server Error when using BI Publisher within OBIEE 11g
I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2BP1 on a Linux x86-64 server and it has been working just fine. We recently started playing around with the BI Publisher component of that installation and every time i go to http://hostname:port/xmlpserver and try to log in with an Administrator username and password, the following error shows up:
Error 500--Internal Server Error
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
*10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error*
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
I have looked around for solutions and tried a couple of them (created a new Admin user in Weblogic Console and checked the opmnctl status) and they did not help. I'm looking for an answer other than upgrade to the latest and greatest
Any help is appreciated.Do you have any SSO setup as that might be preventing the ability of the user to log into BI Publisher, hence the Internal 500 error message.
Are you using FMW security model for BIP and OBIPS integration which is by default. Check the xmlp-server-config.xml file from the repository [\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\clients\bipublisher\repository\Admin\Configuration\xmlp-server-config.xml] and see what your security model is pointing to?
Also what happens when you try to access from Administration>BI Publisher >Manager BI Publisher ?

500 internal server error when opening EP
Hi,
We are facing issue while opening EP in our landscape. We are facing the below error
500 Internal Server Error
SAP J2EE Engine/7.00
Application error occurred during request processing.
Details: java.lang.NullPointerException: null
Exception id: [005056A0354D001F000000650000100C0004904D0B0E33C7]
We are facing this error immediately when we try to open http://<hostname>:<port>/irj.
But if we refresh the page once or twice the login page would appear as usual.
And below is the error in default trace
#1.5 #005056A0354D00500001437700001A7C0004905E0B7A5099#1284633500727#com.sap.engine.services.security.roles.SecurityRoleImpl#sap.com/irj#com.sap.engine.services.security.roles.SecurityRoleImpl#J2EE_GUEST#148446####86451addc17e11df9405005056a0354d#Thread[Thread-388,5,SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_Group]##0#0#Error#1#/System/Security/Audit/J2EE#Java###: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role [ : ].#3#ACCESS.ERROR#service.jms.default.authorization#administrators#
Any help?
Regards,
BrahmeshwarHello Brahmeshwar
The defaulttrace error you are looking normally is just a warning, and can be simply ignored.
Please search the Exception ID which you are seeing in the page, like "005056A0354D001F000000650000100C0004904D0B0E33C7"
And check the detailed exception there.
And please check whether you are getting any issue when accesing other J2EE apps like http://<host>:<port>/useradmin or /nwa.

HTTP 500 Internal Server Error when promoting
Hi All,
We are on HFM 9.3.1 and trying the use the process management feature.
In the HFM Server and Web config window we have specified an smtp server: mail.comp.com and restarted the services.
When we try to promote an entity, a new window pops up with a "HTTP 500 internal server error". For some reason this window cannot be maximised.
Now I am not 100% sure the smtp server we are using is correct.
Has anyone come across this? The entity is still promoted even though we get this error.
Which log should I be looking at for further info?
Thanks for your help.
SebHi,
We fixed the problem by applying the following on the HFM web server:
1) open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd) and type the following commands
cd \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
regasm /codebase "C:\Hyperion\FinancialManagement\Web Server\Mailer.dll"
Restart server
Thanks,

500 Internal Server Error when I add struts portlet in the portal
I'm using jDeveloper 10g and have created a sample struts app which is working fine when using the regular struts-html.tld tags and struts-bean.tld tags .I'd like to get it working using the pdk-struts-html.tld taglib though so that I can deploy it as a portlet.
When I run the jsp page as follow:
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/pdk-struts-html.tld" prefix="pdk-struts-html"%>
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean"%>
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GBK"%>
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=GBK">
<title>untitled</title>
</head>
<body>
<pdk-struts-html:errors />
<pdk-struts-html:form action="/portal/SaveNewBlog.do">
<bean:message key="userid.prompt"/>
<pdk-struts-html:text property="userid" />
<bean:message key="password.prompt"/>
<pdk-struts-html:password property="password" />
<pdk-struts-html:submit />
</pdk-struts-html:form>
</body>
</html>
However, there are some thing wrong with it ,I don't know how to modify it :

Thanks in advance,
vHi,
We were also having the same problem; but we couldnt find a specific solution for that problem.
But when we upgraded the ESS support packages to SP13 for some other reason this issue was also got resolved.
May be helpful i guess.
