Why does my itunes tell me my connection was lost during sync
I am trying to sync and backup my iphone but my itunes keeps telling me the connection was lost why?
Because you deleted, or renamed, or moved a file or folder involved with iTunes organization?
Because your computer's directory is becoming corrupt and it is losing track of files? -

In "purchases" while in my App Store, Mountain Lion says, "an error has occurred" and the green 'download' button is grey and I cannot re-start the download. I was abroad when I purchased this app and during download, my internet connection was lost. At the time, Apple was still offering the e-chat, so I did that and the man was very helpful and it was a quick fix, so my download button turned green again, and I was able to begin the download. BUT during the download, I was kicked offline once again, and I decided to wait until I was back in the USA. I will go in to an Apple store and ask assistance, but if there is something I am missing, I'd like to try that first. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I just updated itunes and started to update my phone to iSo5 when wireless connection was lost on my laptop, I can't get it back and it says there are no networks available-router is working fine, am using it on my iPhone now. Help!
Reboot your router. You by chance dont have a netgear N300 WNR2000 router do you? I had one of those and would lose wifi on it constantly, Switched to a Cisco wifi router and it works much better.

I recently updated my IOS using the beta found on an iTunes account link... Ever since then I've been unable to log into my iMessages and FaceTime account through my iTunes. The only explanation it gives me is that my connection was lost.... What to do?
It was downloaded through my iTunes account... So im sure it wasn't pirated. It's nothing more than a beta test to work out the bugs. But do u have any suggestions as to how i can about redownloading the same iOS but now the 'bugs' should be all worked out....

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

HT201210 iTunes can't sync my iPod because the connection was lost.
I have been having some issues with backup and sync for the past week or two with my iPod Touch. I am being told by iTunes that it cannot sync with my iPod because the connection was lost. I tried a different cable and still no luck.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:

Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer -
Unable to check for available downloads. the network connection was lost
in my downloads window in iTunes it shows i have "28 iTunes downloads available". when i try to download them, i get the error "Unable to check for available downloads. the network connection was lost."
my connection is fine though, as i can individually download purchases by clicking on the cloud icon.I followed the advice on Holgr's link, i used screen flow to capture the error message, and then made the video available to apple support. My issue was immediately escalated, and my account started working again shortly after.
I received no additional messages from tech support, i had no idea the problem was resolved until i tried it again. -
My IPOD was corrupted during updating ITUNES.
My IPOD was corrupted during updating ITUNES. Now all I get on the screen is USB up arrow ITUNES. What can I do?
If not successful try the remaining actions of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
Store sign in error "network connection was lost"
I'm trying to sign into my iTunes account and it keeps telling me: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection was lost."
But I am still connected to my network and able to get on the internet. I have rebooted my Macbook and I am still getting the same errors
I am running MB Pro, Snow Leopard 10.6.7, and iTunes 10.5.2.
I get this error if I try to sign in or out of my iTunes account.Yeah, I also reset the router and cable modem but that didn't do anything. It's so frustrating, everything that Apple does is so intuative and usually so user friendly but iTunes has been one big headache for me from the beginning, between me, my wife, 2 daughters and son, we have 3 iPhones and 5 iTouches, and I have the house iTunes account, and a work one, my wife has a work and my daughters have ones at their stepmothers house also, now trying to keep these all synced is a nightmare!! All I want is to be able to plug in whatever I have an update the software of drop daughter A's Cody Simpson CD on daughter B's iTouch... but since it's synced with her mother's computer she's out of luck, and that *****.

Can't purchase: the dreaded "network connection was lost" error.
I'm suddenly having iTunes problems, but they haven't been prompted by anything. I have 2 iTunes accounts: one works just fine for purchasing, the other generates this error message when I click "BUY" or when I click "Purchase" from within my Wish List:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the ITunes Store. Please try again later.
I just updated to the latest OS, and re-downloaded the latest iTunes hoping that would help, but no luck. One account still works just fine, the other won't download at all.
I found similar issues in the forums, so I also repaired disk permissions, and also did a Keychain First Aid. Those didn't help either. I looked at my network settings, and nothing has changed in there either.
I also read that it could be a MobileMe issue: my Mobile Me account name is the iTunes account that's not working, but my non-mobile-me account name works just fine.
I'm completely & totally stumped. Googling for the possible answer only yields threads from 2-3 years ago. Has anyone had this problem recently, and perhaps found a fix for it? I'm stuck!
KirbyI'm still stuck on this one. I've tried repairing permissions, doing Keychain first aid... nothing helps. I've also installed the most recent version of iTunes, hoping that would fix the problem, but no dice. I even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, but that didn't work either.
I'm not running any kind of virus protection software on my mac, and I don't have any custom firewall settings: they're defaulted to whatever they were at original startup.
It's not my cable modem, because my laptop can download without a problem from either account, but my desktop keeps hitting the wall of this error. I've scoured the web high and low, and unfortunately can't find any fixes. But I've encountered plenty of people who've had the same problem. I feel like there must be an errant file somewhere, or corrupt preference file, or a box ticked that shouldn't be ticked: something is making this error message pop up over and over again. I've also read that it has something to do with MobileMe users (which I am) but I don't understand how that would impact my ability to purchase a song.
I'm truly stumped, and I'm usually good at this stuff. Help!
Kirby
