5610 help!!

I juz bought a 5610 & discovered tt despite having saved names n mobile nos. of frens, there's no name reflected when smses come in, i don face prob wif names on in/out-goin calls. I even upgraded to latest software V04.81, no help(*Note: There's no change to my tones & all). Went to Nokia Care, i dunno wat e they do, the prob is gone but all my themes, games, ringing tones & even music player's themes & equalisers are all gone!!! Furious, i checked wif e staff but they juz dismissed me sayin tt the software upgrade doesn't support those tt i'd lost. They even showed me e version, it clearly shows V04.81. Isn't tt e version i upgraded myself? It's nonsense telling me tt V04.81 doesn't support themes and all.. I'm so desperate, it's a new phone yet i can't do anything to get my e default themes, ringing tones, alerts, music player's themes and equaliser. Is tis e best Nokia can giv us me? Selling me a problematic ph telling me 1-to-1 exchange is nt their policy. I'm truly GRATEFUL to those who can guide me as to hw i can retrieve the default themes and all. Devastated..
Hope aft reading tis, buyers can check not only functions but whether Smses reflect saved names, seldom will people check it. Thanks!

you just go to Nokiacare and tell them to 'FLASH' the software again. But you'll lose ur all datas. you can backing up from mobile phone to ur PC b4 going to nokiacare.

Nokia 5610 help!!!

Hey,
i have a nokia 5610 and i have two question:
1) above the screen, there are two things, one of them is the camera , what is the other thing and what does it do?
2) behind the slider, ( the on that goes to music player and radio ) , there is a light that keeps flashing, there is no missed call or anything that would cause it to flash. It doesn't flash all the time, from time to time it starts to work. why does it flash?
3) is there anyway that i can make the flash of the camera to work as a flash light?

three questions perhaps?
1. It's the light sensor. - it optimizes the screen ligth due to the light around you.
2. I am pretty sure this is the breathing light. How ever I am not sure how to turn it off - as my little brother had it a short time - a long time ago I googled it, and it seems like you can follow these steps: just go to setting>lights>lights effects on/off

Help me with this spastic problem on my 5610

I have not used a nokia phone for the past 5 years.
Recently I got a Nokia 5610 becasue I need something small for work and can use it for music.
But I have this irritating problem - If I store a contact (let's say 91234567 under the name Spastic) without the +65 prefix, the sms will not show the associated name. IE, the sms will show its from +6591234567 and not Spastic.
However, if I store the number as +6591234567, the sms will show the associatd contact name. But when 91234567 calls me, the phone will just show 91234567 and not the name
Its driving me nuts. Help!!
How do I get the phone to display the name in both sms and call display?

I bet you have to live with that. The problem is, that your provider is sending you the Caller ID in a different way then the sender of text messages (as you might know +65 is the international code). One thing you could try is calling your provider.

Nokia 5610 Slide button repair help

The slide button on my Nokia 5610 express music has cracked and fallen of. I was wondering if any one had managed to successfully repair the button themselves.

The 24 month warranty should cover its repair free of charge. Just take it to a Nokia Care centre near you with the proof of purchase.
I took my daughter's 5610 for the slider button to be repaired today and they fixed it the same day under the warranty! Also, since the 5610 was only launched in the UK in Q4 2007, they didn't even ask to see the proof of purchase in my case probably as it's obviously less than 24 months since launch.
Of course it probably helped that it clearly looked well cared for other than the missing slider.

Help on 5610

My 5610 does not power on. I'm not sure why. It hasn't been used for a while, but before I stored it, it was working properly. When I charge it, it charges well enough, but I'm getting no response from the end button. They buttons light up when I click on the call and soft keys but not with the end key. Any ideas?

I already have a 5800. I just missed the feel of a keypad for a while. LOL. I'm thinking of giving it to my lil sister though so I turned it on to see how it is. Anyway I've never had problems with this before and I guess the problem is caused by it being stocked up for a while after being extensively used, as with most electronics. Ok, I thought there was something I could do to fix this myself. I'll take it to a care center.

Help xpressmusic 5610 prob

i have a problem with my xpressmusic 5610, i hope this is the right section to share n solve my prob….the prob is begins like dis….when time i using my videocam….after a few minutes my xpressmusic getting stuck its say “unable to save video”….so i shut off my xpresmusic…and open it again…then the problem is happen… my screen getting blink2..and white blank..no have view…
after a few second it shut off automatically…..so i can u all tell me what is a problem…

Help in phone update for 5610

Hi,
My mobile version is 4.81.
I checked the "can i update" column with my product code. It showed that the latest version is 8.3. I downloaded the software and flashed my phone.
After updating my phone shows version as 6.6, but not 8.3
Can anyone help me out how to flash tothe latest baseline.
And also help me with ur comments on the new baseline.

i too have a 5610, comments on the new v8.30 firmware are in the Software Updates forum part of this discussion board.
there are ways to upgrade to v8.30 however as it is an illegal process, so these methods are not discussed here. the info is out there though on the net....
however, unless you are extremely techsavvy i would suggest that you visit a Nokia Care Centre or authorised repair centre instead.

Nokia 5610 camera help ??

hi. when i used to take pictures from my mobile it didn't make that sound while taking the pic. but few weeks ago , i've plugged my mobile to the computer and the software updated to "firmware 4.81". since then , there was that camera sound going on while im taking the picture. i want to mute that sound. what do i do ? i've searched all over the mobile settings and haven't found anything related .. even changing my profile to silent didn't help.. any help please? thanks alot ..

Privacy laws in some countries make it illegal to be able to photograph people without their knowledge and consent. By not making it possible to mute the shutter release sound, Nokia is simply complying with laws.
This does depend where you are, though. Here in the UK I can mute my N95's shutter release no problem, although I haven't yet upgraded to the latest firmware version.

Can nokia 5610 have a virus ???

No it cannot. There are no known viruses that can infect series 40 models like the 5610. This is because it's a closed operating system.
The memory card of the phone can carry windows based viruses if it's been used with an infected computer. These viruses cannot infect the phone.
If you are having a problem with your phone it is being caused by something else.

all you can do is wait for a firmware update for your region, latest is 8.30 but may differ for your region. check via nokia software updater in nokia pc suite for the firmware update
