5800:Cannot install S60v3 applications - Cetrifica...

I have a 5800 with firmware V21.0.0125 and I can install applications S60v5 apps like Google Maps, etc (I have installed several) but when I install S60v3 apps is issues 'Certificate expired', or when I set the date back too far 'Certificate not valid yet', even when I change the date by a few days.
Before that I have set
Application manager -> Installation settings ->
Software Installation : All
Online certificate check : Off
Default web address: None
I have heard that the 5800 does accept S60v3 apps is that true ?
Nokia 5800
FW 30.0.011

yes you can.....
this error can be due to many reasons
the file youre trying to install isnt "signed"
to install apps to your device they need to be "signed" (digitally approved by
symbian)
you can sign some files yourself....
https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page
click on "open sign" and follow the instructions
secondly the application may be signed but may be past its "timeline"
to install them you'll need to change the date on your phone to USUALLY
2007 or 2008 jan 1st
hope this helps

  • I cannot install an application in the Applications folder without removing it first

For some time now, I have noticed that I cannot install an application into the application folder without first removing it from the folder. If I try to install it by dragging the icon to the application folder, I get a warning that the application can't be moved because the folder "Applications" can't be modified. I click on authenticate and enter the root username and password. I am warned that the application already exists in the location. I am asked if I want to replace the item. The options presented are "Keep both files", "Stop", and "Replace". I choose "Replace". I am then prompted for an administrator's name and password. I enter "root" and the root password. I then get this lengthy error message:
The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again.
I checked the permissions and "locked" was already deselected. The permissions grant my regular user read and write permissions, "staff" read-only, and "everyone" read-only. If I add "admin" with read and write permissions, nothing changes, i.e. I get the same error. If I try to enter my user credentials, they are rejected. My user is not an admin user. Previously, when I enterered the root username and password, the operation would complete successfully.
Now if I first remove the application from the Applications folder, then drag the application to the folder, I am prompted for an administrator's name and password. When I enter it, the application is copied successfully.
I have tried fixing file and directory permissions from the disk utility, but that doesn't fix the problem.

When you say, "locked" was already deselected, I take it that you mean the small icon at the bottom right of the Get Info window displayed an open lock picture.
Have you tried locking it, then unlocking it again?  I expect you will be able to lock it by simply clicking on the open lock icon, but to unlock it again you will need to supply an Admin password.
Odd that DU didn't fix it.  That would be my first thought also.  Suggest trying it again, if you haven't already done so.
Speaking of DU, have you verified your HDD?
My Applications folder permissions read -
    System          Read and Write
    admin           Read and Write
    everyone      Read only

Cannot install any application from new Winows market. I click "Install" and... that's all... nothing more...

Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Don't worry, no special etiquette, we're all friends here
What was the software that you installed that claims to "enhance the speed of your system"? The logical thing to do would be to uninstall the application and hope that it hasn't caused wider ranging problems. The SW, if only halfway reputable, should have come with uninstall instructions. Follow the instructions, reboot and see if your download problem is fixed.
WRT to the slowing down that prompted your (misguided) installation of this SW there are many things that may be the culprit but the most common and easiest to fix is the remaining space on your HD. What size is your HD and how much free space is there? This info can be obtained by selecting your HD and keying Command (Apple) + I (the letter 'eye').
Post back with the SW concerned and the remaining space and we can take it from there.
    Good luck,
    Adrian

  • Cannot install Mail application after downgrade Mac OS X 10.9 to 10.7.5.

Dear Mac fans, maybe somebody can help me with expirience or advice how to install Mail application on Mac OS X 10.7.5.
After I made downgrade from Mac OS X 10.9 (Maverick) to 10.7.5. (Lion) Mail application didnt work properly and report some errors.
During installation of Mac OS X 10.7.5 I use Time Machine and all other program and/or data working properly. Only Mail application not!
I find some information that Mail application is part of MAC OS X and tht is neccessary to reinstall whole MAC OS X to get mail application.
Will somebody have procedure or way how to solve this issue?!
    Really thanks in advance,
    Rusmir

That is correct. You must use OS X Recovery to restore OS X in order to reinstall the Mail app.
OS X: About OS X Recovery
There is no standalone download available.

  • Cannot install Adobe Application Manager

When I install this, I first get an error saying another instance is already running.  The installation then proceeds and goes through the motions installation but at the then, I get an error saying "Adobe Application Manager failed to install".  I've combed through my Windows Task Manager for things like "PDApp.exe" and "setup.exe" but I couldn't find any.  I have a bazillion processes running and I don't have time to go through each one trying to figure out which is the right one.  How do I install the Application Manager?  It seems like all the CC apps needs the updated version of Adobe Application Manager in order to install.

Problem resolved.  I called the 800 # and spoke with a technical support person in India.  The steps to resolve were to rename the directory paths (2 of them) that pointed to the old Adobe Application Manager, then download the Adobe Cleaner Tool and use it to remove the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App.  I logged off and then logged back in and re-downloaded the Creative Cloud Application manager and I was able to download (finally) Photoshop CC.
The old Adobe Application Manager came with my CS6 installation.  It was probably running but it did not show up in the Windows Task Manager as either an application, process, or service.  It also could be be uninstalled through Control Panels without having to remove CS6 altogether.

  • Cannot install AIR application when the system date is set beyond 10/31/2017

I created a native time-stamped installer for an AIR application. While testing the installer with different system dates, I noticed that the installer does not work when the system date is set beyond 10/31/2017. I tested the same with a self-signed certificate as well as a Verisign certificate and found the behaviour to be consistent. Why does the installer stop working after this date?

Thanks very much for keeping this issue alive.
    Let me restate the issue:
We have a AIR 2.0.4.13090 sidecar application. Installing the application for the very first time seems to work. Any uninstall or update after that runs into issues on the problematic Windows 7 64 bit machine. The installer logs all point the finger to Windows Installer having problems writing to the temp directory.
We've gone through many, many things trying to resolve this, including resetting administrative access to the temp directory and flushing the temp directory out entirely. I'm reporting this news secondhand, so it's not possible for me to directly relate the exact measures taken, step-by-step. The ONLY thing that reliably worked for running and installing updates on this AIR application was the following:
    1) Create a new administrative level user.
    2) Log in with that user.
    3) Disable firewalls.
    4) Run the updater.
    5) Log back in as normal user, delete temporary user.
if the user account created in step 1 is not deleted in step 5 and is used to attempt a further update or uninstall, it will fail. This seems to tell me that AIR is able to utilize the temp folder via Windows Installer correctly only once. After that, it dirties this directory somehow and is unable to use/write to it, and subsequent uninstalls/updates fail with error 0.
Again, the failure all show msi issues writing to the temp directory. They result in an "Error 0" alert dialog in AIR.

  • Cannot install new applications IN applications folder. Why?

    Dear Fellow Mac users,
This week I have tried to install 2 new applications to my Powermac G5 which runs Panther 10.3.9. The applications were Firefox (for this version of OS X, of course), and Skype. BOTH applications downloaded fine--when I double click to launch the dmg file I get this window which prompts me to drag the install file off the deskop into the applications folder. THIS is where the problems begin: I can't get it to work! Instead a 'shortcut' is made in the applications folder--to the dmg file which INSISTS on staying on the desktop--like it's a hard disk volume or something! Weird. So I gave up trying to install Skype. I got Firefox to work this way, but it *****...it runs like crap this way. Why is this happening and what do I have to do to fix it??? Oh--and one other maybe useful bit of information: last January 2007 I put this computer into long term storage when I went overseas...it wasn't until just two weeks ago that I came back, brought it out of its box and started it back up again. At first everything seemed to run fine...except Safari, which began to continually crap out and crash at start up...hence my deleting it entirely and going for Firefox. That's when I first noticed this apparent inability to install applications properly. Please, somebody heeeeeelp! I am so stressed out by this! Thanks so much in advance, Steve

THIS is where the problems begin: I can't get it to work! Instead a 'shortcut' is made in the applications folder--to the dmg file which INSISTS on staying on the desktop--like it's a hard disk volume or something!
It is a mounted disk volume. Open the item on the desktop and drag the application inside to the Applications folder; if you see a brown package icon instead, double-click it and follow the onscreen directions.

  • Cannot install Native Application silently

I have an existing Native Application installed that I'm trying to update silently, i.e. without being prompted if I want to replace the application. In command prompt on Windows 7 x64 I have tried the following:
    C:\NativeAppUpdate.exe -silent
The command fails with the following message:
    failed due to bad configuration
At this point I Googled the error and came across a post on this forum of something experiencing a similar issue. Adobe suggested using the ARH tool to get a better understanding of what the error was. So I tried the ARH tool as follows:
    arh -installAppSilent NativeAppUpdate.exe
Unfortunately that failed too with the following message:
    Failed (consult log)
So I looked at the log and found the following entries:
[2012-07-02:17:04:35] Application Installer begin with version 3.1.0.4880 on Windows 7 x86
    [2012-07-02:17:04:35] Commandline is: -silent NativeApp_1_0_1.exe

[2012-07-02:17:04:35] Application Installer end with exit code 7
It says it's not an AIR file, which is correct. However if I run the update file without the silent argument, it asks me if I want to replace the application and installs fine. So why does it fail when the silent argument is used and is there any other way around this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just tried again now but it didn't work.
With AIR Runtime 3.1, here is what I did:
    1) Create a Flex Project (Desktop Application with Flex SDK 4.6.0)
    2) Export Native Installer package, called NativeAppTest_1.0.0.exe
    3) Edit the application xml file and change <versionNumber> value "1.0.0" to "1.0.1"
    4) Export Native Installer package, called NativeAppTest_1.0.1.exe
    5) Copy both installers to C:\
    5) Install C:\NativeAppTest_1.0.0.exe
    6) From command prompt, run "C:\NativeAppTest_1.0.1.exe -silent"
    The following is returned:
    C:\>NativeAppTest_1.0.1.exe -silent
    C:\>failed due to bad configuration
With AIR Runtime 3.3 installed, the same thing happens. The log file says:
[2012-07-25:15:58:40] Bootstrapper begin with version 3.1.0.4880 on Win x86

  • Cannot Install Any Application

I'm new to the forums, so I apologize if there is proper etiquette that I am unaware of using.
I tried to enhance my slowing Tiger OSX with software that claims to enhance the speed of my system. Since then, I have not been able to install any software, whether it is from CD or downloaded off the Internet. The installer seems to just disappear as the software tries to initialize the installtion process. I have run a full range of hardware diagnostis and fully ruled out the possibility of hardware failure. It sounds like generic operating system corruption from the software that I used previously, but I would rather not reinstall the operating system. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
