5800 loses default connection method

In Connectivity/Destinations, I have "Internet" as my default connection method, this is denoted by a tiny little tick at the side of it.
But every now and then, it will fail to connect, and when going into Connectivity/Destinations, the little tick has gone.
This is my 3rd 5800 and the 3rd one to do this.. any ideas why ?

If there are mobile networks on the default container, if you lose the connection to wifi, it would revert to that and may cost you...Hmm..never experienced this before....try to restore factory settings.

  • Connection method

    Hi Hussein and Helios,
What is the default connection method in ebs whether shared server or dediacted server?
    can i change that?
    Edited by: user3266490 on Feb 26, 2010 8:11 PM

    Hi,
What is the default connection method in ebs whether shared server or dediacted server?I believe it is dedicated server in 11i/R12.
can i change that? What is the point of changing it? I am not sure if this is supported, so I would suggest you log a SR to confirm this with Oracle support.
    Regards,

  • I lose the connection when closing the CMD

    Hi guys,
I have configured a standalone listener as following:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin> java -Dapex.home=D:\list -Dapex.images=C:\images -jar D:\apex.war
    Afterward,
If I close the CMD, I will lose the connection, and I have to reconfigure it again.
If I open APEX locally , I mean by using the shortcut "Get Started With Oracle Database 11g Express Edition" , Then I will lose the connection that uses the default port of the listener, that is 8080.
After I configured the listener I got this message on the CMD

    Regards,

    Hi,
I'm not sure I got your question right, but I'll try to find some solution anyway.
If I close the CMD, I will lose the connection, and I have to reconfigure it again. That's what happens when a shell is terminated - all associated processes will stop as well. However, if you have a apex-config.xml in your apex.home you shouldn't need to configure your APEX Listener each time your start it, but it would reuse an existing configuration.
If I open APEX locally , I mean by using the shortcut "Get Started With Oracle Database 11g Express Edition" , Then I will lose the connection that uses the default port of the listener, that is 8080.Now, if you have XE running on the same (local) machine as you have your APEX Listener running in standalone mode, you probably have a port conflict: By default, both APEX Listener in standalone mode and the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway (EPG) use port 8080. The EPG is activated as web server for APEX in XE after a fresh installation, the APEX Listener would be an alternative in that case. You can either stop the EPG, or reconfigure any of the two web servers to use a different port, if you want to run them parallel.
To change the port used by the APEX Listener in standalone mode, you simply add another parameter to the startup: -Dapex.port=8888 and you're done.
To change the port used by the EPG, connect as sys and run the following
    EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(8888);
COMMIT;If you want to disable the EPG, simply set the port to *0* .
After I configured the listener I got this message on the CMDThat's what it should look like.
No, since your topic is "lose the connection when closing the CMD", I assume you search for an alternative. You could run the APEX Listener as a Windows service, even in standalone mode. To do this, you create a batch file, e.g.
%JAVA_HOME%\java -Dapex.home=D:\oracle\APEX_Listener\_home -Dapex.images=D:\oracle\apex_4_0_2\images -Dapex.port=8888 -jar D:\oracle\APEX_Listener\apex_listener.1.1.2.131.15.23\apex.war >>D:\oracle\APEX_Listener\apex_listener.1.1.2.131.15.23\my_apex_listener.log 2>&1Note that you have to set JAVA_HOME as system property or replace the call with the absolute path to your JDK or make sure the JDK is in your PATH variable.
Of course, you can and should change the other directories as well to fit to your system.
Next, create a Windows service, e.g. using [url https://iain.cx/src/nssm/]NSSM (free) or [url http://support.microsoft.com/kb/137890]SRVANY (MS, non-free), that starts your batch as a windows service.
The command for creating that service using NSSM could look as follows
nssm install APEX_Listener D:\oracle\APEX_Listener\apex_listener.1.1.2.131.15.23\startup.cmdYou can edit the service properties afterwards, e.g. change the start mode from "Automatic" to "On Demand".
I hope this answers your question. If not, please point me into the right direction.
    Thanks,
    Udo

  • MacBook loses wireless connection when iPod touch connects to network

    hi
ever since upgrading to 10.5.5. on my MacBook i've had the "intermittent network connection" problems that have been described and discussed (without any real solution from what i can see) in another thread.
PROBLEM: every couple of minutes my MacBook loses connectivity to the network - the AirPort icon still says that i'm connected, albeit with one less bar than before, but i can't connect to anywhere, not even to the wireless router - and to re-establish a connection i need to switch off AirPort, switch it back on, it will then reconnect, and after two minutes or so i have to do it all over again because the network connection drops again.
NOVEL OBSERVATION 1: reinstalling the 10.5.5. combo system updater helped somewhat. i used to get an error in system.log about there being too many state transitions on the wireless network and about network traffic reduction measures being taken to overcome this problem, but after reinstalling the 10.5.5. combo system updater this message never appears in the logs and I get kicked off only sometimes (see what i say in point 2 below)
NOVEL OBSERVATION 2: now my MacBook will only lose its connection to the net if i switch on my iPod Touch and switch its wireless interface on. in fact, the only way to avoid the MacBook getting constantly disconnected is to make sure that the wireless interface on the Touch is switched off in the Touch's system preferences; if I just sleep the Touch (top button) without switching off its wireless network interface first in its System Preferences, then the MacBook will keep disconnecting even while the Touch is in sleep mode (presumably the Touch keeps polling the network or something, even while it's in sleep mode).
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 1: I have another wireless device (my Nokia E51, which has wifi capabilities) and if I connect it to the wireless interface then the MacBook's connection isn't dropped - i.e. the MacBook only loses its wireless connection when my iPod Touch connects to the wireless network.
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 2: I have upgraded my wireless router (before I had a Linksys WRT-54GC, now I have a Netgear WGR614v9) but that has made no difference.
DIAGNOSTIC NOTE 3: I have also tried altering the router's settings (i have played around a_lot with this, trying every combination I could think of - e.g. staple down particular devices to particular ip addresses, use only 802.11g versus automatic b/g, etc) but that has made no difference either.
    RANT:
The only thing that prevents these disconnections from occurring is to keep the iPod Touch's wireless switched off, which ***** because if I'm in the kitchen I can't have it switched on to monitor my email (yes, I've no life, i hang around waiting for emails), or if I go have a lie down and want to check out stuff on the net, or to browse the iTunes music store or whatever, then I know that my connecting my iPod Touch the computer will be disconnected.
This obviously *****, right? And a lot of people are having wireless problems with their MacBooks, right? And these problems seem to have been around for over a year, right?
So why hasn't Apple solved this problem yet? Or am I just being melodramatic?
Your thoughts on any or all of the above, or flames if that's your preferred method of communicating, are invited. =)
    Cheers
    dr.colekat

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

  • How to make Wi Fi Airport the Default connection

I have an Airport and a MacBook Air. There are a dozen or so WiFi nodes near me. I want to specify one (mine) as the default. Every time the MacBook sleeps, I lose the connection and have to tell it where to hook up all over again.
How do I —once and for all— tell my network to always link to my Airport?

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Network.
Choose Wi-Fi in the network connection services list, and then click Advanced. If Wi-Fi isn’t in the list, make sure you have an AirPort Card in your computer, and then click Add at the bottom of the list. Choose Wi-Fi from the Interface pop-up menu, give the service a name, and then click Create.
Click Wi-Fi. If the networks you expect to see aren’t in the preferred networks list, click Add at the bottom of the list, and choose the network you want. Enter the network password if necessary. To give a network the highest priority, drag the name of the network to the top of the list. This is the network your computer will attempt to join first.

    powerbook g4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Andy,
I just read your posting from two weeks ago and thought I would add some info.
Yesterday I had a customer suffering the same problem. They had just purchased an iMac w Intel and were attempting to connect to a Canon iR4570. They had other PPC Mac's which were running varying versions of 10.4 and were all printing okay. But this iMac was getting the error -9786.
I found that he was trying to connect via IPP, but entering the queue name as LP (which is what you do for LPR connections). By changing the queue to socket://ip address:9100 the error was resolved.
The thing to note about this situation was that since this was the first printer he was adding to his Mac, the protocol was defaulted to IPP. With the previous driver installations he had performed on the other Mac's, the protocol was defaulted to LPR. This would have been due to this protocol being the last one used previously. But the customer had only been taught to add the IP address and the queue name and wasn't aware of the protocol menu...

  • RemoteApp and Desktop Connection - Default Connection URL - Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi,
I'm building an Remote Desktop envoirement for our organisation wich includes the following servers:
2 Domain controllers with Remote Desktop Gateway, Licensing and Broker (1 broker functional, no HA, still in progress of building), RDWeb installed.
2 Remote Desktop Host Servers for the user logins (no applications just the desktop).
2 Remote Desktop Application Servers (RemoteApp) with all of our applications installed.
2 File Servers using DFS replication.
All of those servers are Windows 2012 r2.
Our purpose is to deploy RemoteApp's to the Remote Desktop Host servers using the GPO Default Connection URL.
The problem is that it won't apply to the users who log on to the Remote Desktop Host servers. I'm struggling with this issue for a while now and tried different possible solutions. Such as the delegation credential GPO, making the users local admin, making
the users domain admin etc etc.
My guess is that the GPO hangs on the fact that when i try to manually run the wizard to connect to the RemoteApp and Desktop connections, my credentials are asked. Which i think is odd because i'm already logged in as an domain user. I'm having the exact same
problem with the domain administrator account.
When i'm connecting manually by entering the credentials in the connection wizard everything is working as it should, it just won't connect automatically
Does someone has an solution for this?
    Kind Regards,
    Geoffrey van Meurs

so am I correct to assume that your issue is really with RemoteApps single sign-on (SSO)?
You have users which RDP to RDSH and again you're attempting to publish RemoteApps in that same environment?
I haven't done SSO but there is a lot of info about it on the web:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/ed4447b5-2958-404b-883c-9aefa038ad61/single-sign-on-remoteapp-and-desktop-connection?forum=winserverTS
Secondly, you may need to look at your GPO loopback settings to ensure the policies are being properly applied.  Use RSOP as well.  Try using a local GPO to see if it makes a difference with a non-admin test user.  Check event logs for GPO
    processing errors/conflicts.  Use gpresults, etc.
Something else worth noting here is that RemoteApp publishing is really not meant to be done inside RDSH, it's usually done on the user's workstation, therefore eliminating the need for them to even login to RDSH, reducing the number of hops and complexity.
For what you're doing, you're better off using RDWeb to publish the applications to them or using the old school method of just having app. shortcuts on the Desktop/Start menu in RDSH since they're already getting a published desktop anyway.  Or just
use RemoteApps on their workstations via GPO.  Just some thought if I'm understanding your goals here, but it sounds like you would need to read up on RemoteApp SSO.

  • Nokia 5800 Wi-fi connectivity - No Gateway reply P...

Me & my friend bought 5800. While connecting WIFI i am receiving No Gateway repy where as my friend able to connect. I had checked all possible options with my friends mobile. Kindly help regarding Wifi as what i am doing wrong.

No Gateway Reply for the 5800.
After spending days trying to sort this problem i think I have cracked it. 1. follow the instructions someone posted to enter the phone ip address, should be different to computers ip. then enter subnet same as pc then the gateway ip same as pc. the only real difference with my solution is that you have to enter the dns addresses as well, same as pc .
I am using XP open network connection, select the wireless network, on the left select view statusof this connection, tab will open, select support , then click details and youdns server numbers are displayed.  Enter these in phone setting in.
I am using linksys WRT54GS, I dont have this problem with a netgear router at my friends, that connects streight away, without internal config of phone.
    Hope it helps
was on phone to nokia for 2 hours being passed from one depart. to another. didnt get anywhere.
Below is  the post origionaly posted by dodgydave123
    Hello Guys!
After browsing the net for some time Ive found a fix for the "No Gateway reply" message when trying to access the internet!
Its also fix's the BBC iPlayer! (Atleast it did on my phone!)
I dont know if its already been posted?
    Ok so here goes!
ENSURE YOUR WIRELESS CONNECTION IS SET TO PRIORITY:1 on your n96
1st) On your phone go to..
menu tools settings connection Wireless Lan Options Advanced Settings
    Disable "Automatic Configuration"
    & Disable "Power Saving"
2nd) On your phone go to..
menu tools settings connection destinations Internet
On your wireless network Name (PRIORITY:1 obviously i dont know what that may be)
options edit advanced settings IPv4 settings options Change
all the detais can be copied from your computer. To find them on your computer go to Start Run
Type "cmd" in the run box
when you get the command screen type "ipconfig/all" here you will get all the settings.
The settings the phone needs is
1.Phone IP Address (enter your computer IP address, changing the last two digits to a number about five or six higher than than the original IP, for eg if my IP was 123.654.768.34 id put the ip in my phone as 123.654.768.39 to stop IP conflict)
2.Subnet Mask (copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
    3. Default Gateway (copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
    4. DNS Address (Usually called "DNS Servers" on your computer! copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
ENSURE ALL NUMBERS ARE IN THE CORRECT PLACES BEFORE AND AFTER THE "."
Then exit all, Turn off your phone and turn it back on again! And all should be up and running!!
Hope this helps! I know how much time i spent looking for the fix!

  • I lose bluetooth connectivity with lion on iMac 21.5. Have to reboot to get it to work again.

Since upgrading to Lion on my iMac 21.5", once a week I lose bluetooth connectivity and have to reboot to get my keyboard and mouse to work.

Backup up your data from both, and as long as you used Bootcamp to install the Windows partition you should be fine.
If you used another method, or have more partitons on the drive than Bootcamp, DON'T upgrade to Lion, unless your prepared to rebuild the entire drive, install Lion from boot DVD's you make from the installer and so forth.
Google "Egg Freckles Lion boot DVD" for details also Google for "Make copies of Snow Leopard install disks"
Snow Leopard is stable, Lion has issues with older Mac hardware ranging from video to wifi to slow downs to radical UI changes.
With all the effort placed in setting up Windows and OS X, to do that all over again to take a chance that Lion won't work on your machine is a a lot of risk for little in return.
When Lion is stable then consider it, but right now it's not.

I have music in icloud but the ipad "loses the connection".
The music is loaded onto my imac and I want to be able to access it from the ipad
The only way I can do this is to sync with the imac.  This does not use the icloud as I thought.
The library shows on the ipad but it does not play.

    - If it happened after an iOS update try:
Fix for “No Content” on iPhone & iPod after iOS 4.2.1 update
    - Next try resetting your iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then try restoring your iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and then to factory defaults/new iPod.  Then resysnc.

  • Nokia 5800 - Can't connect to the internet with wi...

I can't connect anymore to the internet with my nokia 5800, not with wi-fi or with 3G and i was able to do it before. When i try to open a page and then i select the connection type it gives me a message "Connection not available" and then another message shows "web: operation failed". I have never changed the configurations to any of the connection settings, so if it was working before why is it not working now? Someone can help me?

    Hi,
Don't know if this will help you, but I think I had a similar problem. Maybe this can help you.
Here's what my problem was, and how I solved it:
    Problems:
    * YouTube stopped asking what kind of connection I wanted, and always connected through 3g, which was OK when I was home, but not good when I was abroad and had access to Wifi.
    * After being abroad using Wifi to connect to Skype, GMail (Google's Java client) and Opera mini I was no longer asked at home if I wanted to connect via 3g rather than Wifi.
This was a problem as I don't have Wifi at my home, and I did not want to connect to my personal email etc through a public Wifi. I prefered using 3g at home as I'm paying a fixed rate to my mobile operator in any case, and don't pay per data amount downloaded.
    Solution:
Removing and reinstalling above programs (YouTube, Skype, GMail and Opera Mini) did not help. Neither did resetting the phone - option 1 in the suggestions below that resets the phone to store settings, but that still keeps all personal data.)
I did not feel like whipping everything on my phone so instead what I managed to solve the problems as follows:
    Under Settings --> Connectivity -->Destinations -->Options --> Manage --> New destination:
    Create a new destination name.
I made one I called Wifi. Then choose an icon from the suggested icons.
Then go into Internet (under the suggested network destinations), and one by one click on all network destinations that are wifi connections and move them to the new Wifi destination that you've just created. This is done by moving the cursor to the wifi point and --> Options --> Organise --> Move to other dest. --> <Choose your newly created Wifi destination>
Once this is done you should have your 3g access points left under Internet, while all your wifi access points are under your Wifi destination.
Now under the Network destinations menu (where you can see all your access points listed e.g. Access point, Internet, Multimedia msg., WAP services, Wifi (the one just created) and Uncatergorised) choose Options again and -->Default connection --> Always ask.
It will now always ask you which connection to use; if you want 3g choose Internet, but if you want to use wifi choose Wifi (the destination just created).
To those who wonder: I always had the settings set to "Always ask". However, in the past because both Wifi and 3g access points where all under the Internet destination I could not choose between them, and after being abroad Wifi always had priority over 3g, and I could not change this priority despite trying to, so I came up with this little hack instead. This works for me. Hope other people find it helpful too!

  • Default payment method issue in Additional Off-Cycle Payments

    Hello everyone,
I have an issue with Additional Off-Cycle Payments and running this in payroll driver.
I have maintained V_T52OCB  or "Define default values for payment methods" in IMG as Check (C) but when I run payroll for this employee I see that payroll driver is considering Infotype 0009 which is a direct deposit but when I run the same employee in OFF-CYCLE Workbench I see that the run is defaulted to Check and is not considering Infotype 0009 which is correct.
What I don't understand is the same record when processed through regular payroll driver (RPCALC) is considering Infotype 0009 but Off-cycle is considering default payment method for Off-Cycle defined in IMG.
Has anyone seen this kind of issue?
    Thanks,
    Hemanth.

    Hello Hemanth,
The value you maintain in V_T52OCB  is only for defaulting the Payment type in Offcycle Workbench Screen for the Reason you have choosen for the offcycle, it doesn't mean it would be run only by that payment type and you can overrite in offcycle workbench itself by choosing the other payment type.
For Offcycle run it always with the value entered in IT 0009, For off-cycle, if there is a valid record with subtype 5/6, it will be used otherwise subtype 0/1 will be used if payment method selected is according to IT.
If payment method is not according to IT a new record will be created in IT 0009 for the exact date.
For Manual check, the check number can be entered in Offcycle workbench.
I hope it clarified your doubt.
    With Regards,
    S.Karthik

  • All devices on network lose internet connection when Dell laptop connected

I have successfully setup my AEBS network and am using two wireless clients--HP printer and Xbox access point (both 802.11 G) and a wired iMac that also is connected via Airport (so I can move it around if i want). I tried connecting my Dell Latitude D830 wirelessly and within a few minutes of connecting the AEBS loses internet connectivity. Unplugging and restarting the AEBS restores the internet but it just drops off again in less than 10 minutes. My question is, what might be causing this and what can I do about it? One peculiar thing to me is that I am using the WEP security option since the Xbox doesn't seem to support WAP2. When connecting the Xbox it reports the network as WEP but the HP printer and Dell Laptop but suggested the network was indeed WAP even though I'm clearing using WEP security. Maybe it's nothing but wanted to add for completeness.
The Dell is running Vista Enterprise edition.
    Thanks for any help.

I've noticed a similar issue. Any time my HP/Vista laptop is connected to my AEBS it loses the network connection at inconsistant time intervals(~10-15 min).

  • I lose wireless connectivity when I connect the nano to my PC

I have a DSL modem connected by ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless router. My PC has USB linksys antenna. The wireless connection works fine except when I plug in the Nano, it takes about two seconds and I lose the connection to the router. If we are in itunes downloading it is suspended. If we are on the internet the next click and the Microsoft "you are not connected to the internet" page comes up. To reestablish the internet connection I have to remove the nano and reboot the PC. Needless to say this is very frustrating.
If I reboot with the cable attached I get an error unable to run an ____.exe that I believe is the antenna setup because the linksys monitor stays gray in the startup box.
I have tried to move the antenna to a different USB port on the PC with no luck. Everything else runs fine.
Does anyone out there have any ideas/fixes? - Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

    thanks deggie for your answer.
I had my ipod with autosync off ... I set it "manage like disk" .
I try to recover the music with 2 programs: "ephod" and "copy trans" ..
I can see all the songs listed, but can´t backup to disk or recover them......
I see than my ipod hasn´t the folder  "ipod_control" , which appears before I had this problem....

  • New 6500 E709n loses wireless connection when it or laptop sleeps... & other problems!

Just got this printer and am hoping we can get it to work because we really like it.  I believe we've done everything right - it is connected to PC via USB, and to laptop via wireless network.  Both computers are Dells running XP.  Our wireless router is a Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G.  We installed the disk on both.  Immediately after installing on the laptop by plugging in USB and then unplugging, we were able to get it to work.  We printed and scanned from both . . . UNTIL the printer went into power save mode.
When it sleeps it loses all the network connections (but will still print from PC).  Even the icons disappear from the laptop after it sleeps.  The only way to get it to work with the laptop again is to start all over, plug in the laptop, enter the WPA key again, and so on.  Then it's finebut for just a short while.  Now, when I registered my protection plan, I was on the phone with a techie guy and asked him if it's normal to have to keep entering the key every time you want to print, and he actually said that maybe I shouldn't let the printer sleep - wow! I want to conserve energy, so I may even want to shut it off, okay, and I don't feel I should have to go through this rigamarole every time I want the darn thing to just be available to the network.  Furthermore, what's the sense of having to turn "Wireless Radio" on and off all the time???
Anyway, there are other problems and the menus in the internal web browser is about as confusing as it can be.  Is the passphrase the same as a WPA key?  There's a passphrase in there which I did not enter, and I don't know what it is because it's been disguised with dots.  When I enter the WPA key on the front panel of the printer, it doesn't stick.  One thing I noticed in the instructions is to keep telephones away from it, so I moved ours (was right next to it) but it's still being ornery.
In addition, the scan function only works from the software, not as a standalone if I use the front panel.  When using the button on the front panel, sometimes it sees the laptop, sometimes it doesn't, and then it starts to scan, but a menu pops up on the computer asking to update the buttons, and then nothing happens.
Have we a clunker on our hands that should be returned, or is there a remedy?  All suggestions welcome!

Let me answer the easy stuff first:
Yes, the passphrase is the same as the WPA-PSK key.
No, it's not normal to have to re-enter the wireless security key over and over again.  Politely tell our service agent that he is mistaken on this point.
There's no sense in having to turn the radio on and off all the time to get the printer to remain on the network.
When the printer goes into power-save mode, can you still access the printer's internal web page by browsing to it's IP address?  When the printer loses wireless connectivity, can you wake the printer by pressing any of the buttons on the front panel?
I have a couple more questions:
What WRT54G HW version do you have (it'll be on the bottom label of the router)?
What version of FW does your router have?  You'll have to browse to the router's internal web page to find out.
Finally, change the WPA-PSK group key renewal period to the largest value possible.  Tell if this affects the frequency of printer losing Wi-Fi connectivity?
One more question.  After you have the printer connected to your wireless network and it's working, if you turn the printer off (via the power button), wait five seconds then unplug it then plug it back in and turn it on, does it connect to your network?
