59 An unexpected network error occurred

Hi everyone,
This is a strange one.
We are using a TMG for a VPN (amongst other things such as web publishing etc)
We are using some software called 2X  to connect to something on a part of our network,  internally this works ok, but users on our VPN cant connect to it, but they can connect to everything else.  2X is a program that connects on port 80.
From the VPN we can ping the host that the 2x software connects to, we can even RDP to the servers the 2X software is pointing to (once we set up a standard 3389 rule for this) but it wont work as it should via port 80.  Its something to do with
this port 80 connection.
In TMG logs we get - 59 An unexpected network error occurred.
I have tried a block and allow rule, in various orders but cant get it to work.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

Hi,
If I understand correctly, the VPN users cannot connect to the 2X software via port 80 as something else is
using port 80, right?
In addition, there would be multiple reasons for system error 59. Would you please provide the entire error
message or other related information in TMG logs? I would appreciate it if you can also share the publishing rules or other rules on the TMG server for us.
Based on my experience, TCP port 80 is often used by HTTP. You can run “netstat -ano” at the command
prompt on the server which hosts the 2X software to find PID which is using local port 80. Then based on the PID, to find the related process in Task Manager.

Susie

I have installed SQL 2012 on a clustered file share. When I try to add space to extend the log file for a database I get the following error

The SQL service is running under a local domain account that does not have administrator rights to the system.  The service account does have full disk and share permissions and the service starts without any problems.  I have applied all the cluster

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

The LDF file is 16 GB
Free space on the drive is 62 GB

I have several instances on this cluster, some are installed to drive letters and others to the clustered file share.  The error only occurs on the SQL 2012 instances that are installed to the clustered file share.
I installed them to the clustered file share because I am running out of drive letters in the cluster.

  • The document could not be saved. an unexpected network error occurred

I have several users on a terminal server that access a PDF from a file server. This PDF has many fillable fields like Name: with an empty text box next to it.
Sometimes when the users open this PDF everything is missing except the fillable text fields. If they try to save the file they get the error in the subject of this ticket:
the document could not be saved. an unexpected network error occurred
Obviously, this sounds like a networking error, but 2 things.
    1) The terminal server and the file server on both virtual servers on the same host, using the same SAN. Very unlikely to have a networking error.
    2) This doesn't happen to every, it seems to be only affecting 3 of about 25 right now, and it is not all the time.
Any thoughts? I have checked to see if there were any hidden lock files, but that wasn't it. Google-fu turned up nothing.
    Thanks for your help

    Hey jdorimoto,
Could be please confirm if you are using Adobe Reader or Acrobat (what version) to open a PDF form.
What version of OS are you using?
Try saving the form to any other location with administrative privileges and then check.
    Hope to get your response.

  • An unexpected network error occurred

    Dear all,
I have a DC Windows Server 2003 which is a File Server too. There is a shared drive and I used the NET USE command in the Server in order to open the shared drive/folder in the client computers Windows XP and Windows 7 when they turn on their computers.
It was working normally in the past. It is about two weeks that when the client turn on his/her computer the shared drive does not open, when double-click on the share drive from client computer we receive the error message "An unexpected network error occurred"
and we can not get access to the share drive in the Server. of course I can ping the server, if I try to connect to DC by \\servername or \\Server-IP address, still I got the same error message.
Would you kindly help me, and thanks in advance for support.
    Best regards,

    Hi Ahmad,
    Thanks for posting here.
So is there any error or warring can be verified form this Windows Server 2003 domain controller ? have we check the time on both side and is it synchronized?
According to current symptoms It does look like the issue in the KB article below if this server does have a AMD based CPU , can you confirm that ? have we patched service pack 2 for this server already ?

  • Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.

    Hello
I have been receiving this error message for the last two weeks while trying to transfer files from a network drive into my laptop. I have a 3TB WD My Book Live connected to my home network through a netgear DGN2000 router. I also use it to stream videos
    to a smart tv.
I didn't have any problem ever since I connected it the first time. However, it has started showing up this error message now. I can't copy or move files either way. I tried a number of options, such as reset my router, shut down and reconnected the network
drive but none seem to have worked now. Now, I can't stream videos. Also, I am not able to upgrade the firmware of the network drive.
    Any help please.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you have some anti-virus software installed and set to scan network drive, temporarily disable it, check if that is the cause.
I also suggest you update the firmware of your router.

  • Unexpected Network error

I have a fla document open and when I try to save it I get an
error message: "An unexpected Network Error Occured".
The file was opened across a network and I have been able to
export the swf across the network to the same directory.
I have tried to save it on the local computer instead and I
    have tried renaming it.
If I close the program I know I'm going to lose this file -
    which would be very bad.
    Help please?
    Thanks,
    Doug Collins

    Bentley,
Thank you for your reply. I find it odd that you would not be
able to safely open a file across a network. Understanding that the
Flash program itself was open locally, I don't know why it couldn't
save it locally even if the network connection was lost. But what
    do I know?
However, I am happy to announce that I did manage to recover.
I simply opened a new file and cut and pasted everything from the
file that was in trouble. I was then able to save it no problem -
    even across the network.
    Thanks,

  • Publishing Universal App - An unexpected network error has occurred

    Hello,
Each time that we tried to "Associate App with Store" or Create App package" via Visual Studio 2013 to publish our Windows Phone 8.1 Universal app, we have the error "An unexpected network error has occurred. the app list cannot be refreshed.
Please retry by pressing the refresh button".
Our account has more 100 WP apps, and we saw that it could be the problem?
With Silverlight app, it was easy to generate a XAP. But now with Universal Apps, due to this issue, we are blocking! Please Microsoft, can you correct this bug?
    Thanks

    Hello Sroye.
I have been struckling with the same problem. Copying large data amounts between my MacBook and my Airdisk works perfectly (though slowly).
But copying data amounts larger than about 300MB from my XP to my airdisk suddenly stops with the error you get. Hereafter I cannot access the airdisk until I have re-started both my AEBS and my 500GB LaCie HFS+ formatted disk drive.
I use the new 7.1.1 firmware version in my AEBS.
    Have you solved your problem?
    Kind regards Thomas.

  • Ical unexpected network error 60 when restoring

When trying to restore a 19.8 MB backup file to iCal, I get an "unexpected network error 60".  What does the error mean?

Turns out, I think, that an error 60 means "communication stopped."  This occurs if a backup file is being imported (restored) and any significant change has occurred to the caldav server.  When backing up a calendar it must be performed by individual calendar to be able to import it onto a new server.  This may seem like it would take longer, but trust me, it is the way to make it work.
For information, the backup is a "bundle", (file extension ".icbu") and inside the bundle are various files and plist (parameter list) files that contain various information so that things can be restored exactly the way they were when they were backed up.  The plist files include the server URLs.  Although it is feasible to edit the plist files, it is not trivial.
So when an import/restore is performed from an ".icbu" file, synchonization is lost as the new plists are read in.
An ".ics" file extension is an ICal save file, and has only one mail box in it.  It can be loaded into a different server with ease, as when it is imported iCal asks which mail box to put it in.  The mailbox must already be created.
Make certain to provide time for the spinning wheel to stop after importing before you start doing any other activity on iCal.  It might seem like iCal is multi-tasking, but at least the OS X 10.6.8 version is not!  If you interrupt the server synchonization process, either the spinner will never stop or you will get an error (exclamation mark).  I have found that quitting iCAL and then restarting it will usually get things going again.  However, give it time and you shouldn't have any problems.
And if you search for iCal error 60 you will find a lot of questions but few if any answers.  I hope this discussion helped and will save you from my many hours investment.

    Dear all,
I am now facing a very unusual problem that, when I try to open a pdf file from internet, it says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?". Here's my situation:
    Browser: IE8 (or Chrome 35.0.1916.153)
    Adobe Reader: 11.0.0
    OS: Win7
1.Directly open from IE. Says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
2.Try to download(Save AS). In IE, says: "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"; In Chrome, nothing happened, but still can't download.
3.Try to disable the "PDF Reader Addon" in IE8. First the browser needs to download the PDF file, but failed, see point 2.
1.I can open the same PDF file from another network, that is, out of my company.
2.I can open another PDF file in the network of my company, but the pdf is created by another scanner
3.All PDFs from both scanner can be opened locally.
So, here's the possible problem, the network settings, and(or) the PDF. Does anyone ever meet this situation, please help?

    Rave,
    IE: 8 & 9
    Adobe Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Reader 10.x & 11.x
    Chrome: work fine
So the answer is to manually enable and disable websites based on whether the pdfs open within the browser.  That doesn't seem like a great long-term solution to have have our users to manually enable / disable browser integration.  We have web applications that work better with browser integration turned on.  Is this something that Adobe will fix or is it an IIS/IE issue.
It appears the Adobe removed the #1 config option that you lised in the new 11.x versions of both products.  The manage Add-ons does not disable the browser integration on the new Adobe versions.

  • A network error occurred while trying to communicate with the server.

    Hello All,
I am getting some new error messages when opening the server app on my Mac Mini server running OS X 10.8.2 and Server 2.2.1. First I get a message that says "A network error occurred while trying to communicate with the server." and then after trying to open some of the service panes, I get additional errors that say "Multiple errors occurred on the server while processing commands." The services don't load and I just see "Error Reading Settings" in the server app.
I started to get these errors when I added a new website to the server. All the services are working fine but I cannot access them in the server app.
In console I'm seeing these errors when I try to access various services:

I have already restarted the server and used terminal to stop and start postgres. Any more thoughts on how to repair this?

Just as I had suspected, the whole GUI crashed because of certificate problems. After two and a half hours with enterprise support, it turns out the com.apple.servermgrd certificate in the server keychain had become corrupt.
We determined this by typing https://127.0.0.1:311 into Safari and we could see all the server modules and interact with them through the web interface. All the services were working properly as well so we knew that it was just the Server.app GUI that simply couldn't read settings that was causing the problem.
So, first we closed the server app. Went into /var/servermgrd and deleted all the files from this folder. Then, in Keychain, deleted the com.apple.servermgrd certificate. Did a search for com.apple.servermgrd in Keychain and deleted everything else that came up for it.
Then restarted the server. Now the server app was able to properly connect to the services in the background and read them properly. This was the jist of the troubleshooting that solved the problem. It also seems like DNS is causing problems because that is the only service that will not read right but is functioning properly in the background.
I will post an update once Apple figures out what is wrong with DNS. Hope this helps anybody else having these problems.

(If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
