6310i Nokia Inbox messages don't show sender number, even though there are saved on the phone.
In the inbox, outbox, Archive folder. I can read the senders message but there number agaist the msg doesn't appear.
I check to see if the numbers has not been entered twice on my mobile. stranger.
I have backed uo and restored my phone recently using oxygen??
pls help.

I think oxygen may have stripped away the sender details.

It is not a virus. It's a bug in Mail that fails to reset that count, so it keeps incrementing each time you send a message. When it says it's sending 6 messages, that really just means you're sending the 6th message since you last opened Mail.

How can I customise Thunderbird message columns to show sender raw address (not display name) and the "Received for" email address that was used to reach me?

I find it increasingly important to be able to see a sender's actual email address rather than just display name, as they usually don't show a company name - which a domain always would. Is there a way to customise settings/write a script/tweak files to add raw email & domain name columns? When dealing with a number of people at the same company it is hard to order or glance through a list of emails to find them. I also know 2 people with the same name at different companies and it is impossible to distinguish!
Secondly, as a related column addition, since a number of email aliases reach me it would be useful to have a column to show the "Received..for" part of the message source which reveals the actual email used in the To/CC/BCC which led to me. Again can this be tweaked or scripted?
I have programming experience but have not made add-ons and would be open to a suggestion which involves creating a custom add-on if adding columns with custom values is possible that way.

Extended message headers can be searched from Edit/Find/Search Messages, or the folder context menu, by adding custom headers to the search criteria. So, you might be able to create a search on specific properties of a message.
The method of adding custom headers to searches is the same as the one described here for filters:

Mail imported into INBOX.mbox don't show up in Mail InBox

I had to use another Mac while getting a newer iMAC, and I saved all the mail on that folder, networked the two computers, and dragged the mail into the Library/Mail/pop-server.../INBOX.mbox/Messages.
I can see the messages that I had on the iMAC originally, and now I've dropped in the messages into the same folder. I can open each one individually if I want in that Messages folder, but even after restart, they don't show up in my Mail InBox.
What am I missing?

You’re missing that tinkering with the contents of the ~/Library/Mail/ folder in the Finder is not the same as importing messages into Mail.
Mail 2.x keeps a reference to every message in a file called Envelope Index. You cannot tinker with the contents of ~/Library/Mail/ without taking Envelope Index into consideration and expect that to work. The right way to import mailboxes into Mail is doing File > Import Mailboxes.
That said, you may be able to fix the problem by rebuilding the affected mailbox, i.e. select the mailbox in Mail and do Mailbox > Rebuild.

I am having multiple problems with my iphone 4s, people can't hear me when I call, text messages don't always send, calls go straight to voice mail. I have all bars, have hard rest 3 times. I have called apple 4 times and gone to a store. No help.

I have had the 3g, 3gs, 4 and little if any problems. I made a major mistake buying the 4s. What a horrible phone. I must say, apple service is at best, BAD. Here are the basics. I am on the same network, I call the same people, I use the same text messages as I did with the 4. With the 4s, I will call someone and they will not be able to hear me. I have to hang up and recall. Or the phone just does nothing when I press call. Text messages acts like they send but when I go back the have been sent. Sometimes the calls go direct to voice mail.
Here's what I have done. Reset, did not help. Called apple, advisor said she would call me back in 5 minutes, after waiting for 5 days for the call, I recalled, they walked me through the same things I had already done, then said to take it to a store. So they set up an appointment for the only day I could get to it, 1 1/2 hours away, on my grand son's birthday. That was okay if they fixed it. So they hard reset it, we had to setup 4 email accounts, they would not allow me to restore because they said it was a software problem. So I had to download all the apps, lost a lot of data. No fun. But if it worked! So Monday back at work, guess what, same thing. When home and did another hard reset. Still no lick. Called apple again. They said they would replace my phone, all they needed was to put a hold on a credit card for $899 or drive a 1 1/2 hours to a store.
So anyone know a good andriod phone.
PS I got a email asking about the service each time and each time I told them what a horrible phone it was and how bad service was. I have yet to hear back. I guess they do not read them!

You're not speaking to Apple on in this forum, nor will someone from Apple see this post. We are just users like you and I.
Have you tried to restore or reset your phone?

Error message "don't show me this message again", I need it back!!!

Stupidly I click "don't show me this message again" when itunes couldn't locate my music on an external hard drive. Apple help couldn't helped, so does anyone know how I can get this error message back so I can so itunes where to locate my music.

It's application specific. You can re-enable the warnings in your preferences by clicking the Reset All Warning Dialogs button.

TS3672 Messages don't show the contact person name. Instead the number appears. How to get over the problem

All of a sudden, messages that I send and recieve from contact persons show the number instead of the name/ It happens to some of the contacts and when I open the list of messages to the person, the name show correctly above the list of the messages.
How do I overcome this?

Text messages don't always send; I get a red flag message. How can I make them re-send automatically?

This drives me nuts: Occassionally, but not often, I will send a text message and it does not go through. This happens both when I am using iMessage or regular text messages. It gets me into a lot of trouble: I assume my text message has gone through, then check my phone half an hour later and realize the message has not been sent. I don't even get a vibration or a notice that it hasn't sent; it's only when I check my messages that I see the red flag but my undelivered message.
How can I get the iPhone to just automatically keep trying to re-send these messages until it goes through, or at the very least to give me a notification buzz when the message doesn't go through so I know to manually re-send it myself?

At this time that option does not exist. The only workaround that I can think of is to watch and make sure the text sends before closing the app.

Contacts added in Messages don't show up in Contacts/Address Book?

Okay, here's what's happening:
1) A friend messages me for the first time
2) At the top of the message window I hit "Add contact"
3) I type in the details
4) Now, this new contact SHOULD show up in my Address Book/the Contacts app, right? But it doesn't!

If found a thread on stackexchange dealing with several suggestions, none of which worked for me. The last message in the thread is diappointing as it basically says "don't use the add contact feature in the Message app". Unfortunately that is the answer I'll be going with since the feature is obviously broken.

New IMAP messages don't show as "unread" in Lion

I recall fixing this problem in Leopard, but I can't remember how I did it.
I read my email on three devices (iMac, iPad 1, iPhone 3G). Since I upgraded the iMac to Lion, I've found that Mail frequently, but not always, retrieves new IMAP messages, but they don't appear as unread (i.e., no blue dot). Consequently, they're easy to miss, and the Dock icon badge doesn't show the new count, either.
Suggestions?

Mail Preferences > Viewing > Display unread messages with bold font.
On the top of the same preferences page is the option to use classic layout i.e. SL.
Mail Preferences > General > Make sure that Dock unread count is selected.

Problem: Sometimes Messages don't show up

Hello, I'm writing from Portugal. Sometimes i use the Messages service to talk to a friend online, in a kind of 'chat' usage. In some days, while we are talking, suddenly the messages that i write keep showing up in my computer, but stop showing up in my friends computer, so she thinks i stopped the conversation without warning, and went away. I may write several messages, and none of them is delivered. In the meantime, she continues to write to me, and i can see her messages. Then, i have to warn her by mail, to close Spotify and open it again, and then all the messages that are missing will appear. It as happened to me also, with messages she sends me. Can anyone tell me why, and how can we avoid this problem ? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem as well. My OS is Windows 8, and I'm operating the latest version of spotify (1.0.10.107.gd0dfca3a), and ever since I updated to this versions, new chat messages only show up when I refresh the App. Also, when I refresh the App and see the message someone sent me, the message notification icon doesn't fade away unless I refresh the App again.

This has happened several times, so I thought it was time to see if there was a solution.
When i am writing emails, the threads build up. Which is not a problem.
But sometimes, like the next day, I need to recall what was said in the email thread.
I type in the name of the person to find the list of their responses. All good!!
Then, for some reason the headers of the emails appear, but none of the message.
And sometimes with my reply message as well.
If I come back later, it may show them if I go through the same process, or it stays the same.
Any solutions?

'To' messages don't show up?

OK so I want to see if I sent this person an invoice or not -- so I type his name in the search box of mail, and select him in the drop menu that appears.
Then I click 'To' next to that in the search box. All I see are a few emails from more than a year ago. And some of those are not even from me to him, but from other people to him (where I was cc'ed).
Why is that? Before I clicked the 'To', I can clearly see many email threads back and forth between me and him, from much more recently.
The guy only has one email address, so it's not like I'm looking at the wrong one. And the messages are in my Inbox, which is where I was searching.
Is Mail just buggy or am I doing something wrong?

Hi all,
So I linked my Facebook account with my Skype account and I'm facing 2 problems.
1) Not all contact photos from my fb friends are syncing on my skype app, why is this?
2) [My Main Question] My messages from facebook friends are not showing up in my skype app; however they continue to show up on facebook itself. How can I fix this? I'm really wanting to cut the fb website out of the picture, I just want to stay in touch with my contacts.
