64bit Vs 32 bit

Hi All,
DB version is 11.2.0.2. Two test database say A and B. A is in 64 bit server and B is in 32 bit linux server. A sql query which has same execution path in both the database. Tried different plan values, using hash join plan, using nested loop plans and stats but execution time of query in 64 bit is 10 mins faster than 32 bit server.
Is that due to two database in different bits as chunks of data processed will differ?
thanks,

Hi,
In read that, in that saw
Yes, that 64bit code tends to be a bit slower than 32bit code - but overall tends to appear faster IF you had ram cram before. Am not getting the second part of the line. What here i see is code is faster in 64bit than in 32bit.
thanks,

  • Changing Win7 64bit to 32 bit on Satellite Pro C660-16N

    Hello.
    >...Satellite Pro C660-16N - Windows 7 64bit Home Premium preinstalled...
Does anyone know what the best route is to change Win7 64bit to Win7 32bit. Does this model have a 32bit install option on HDD recovery?
Or will it have to be a clean install from a Win7 32bit DVD.
    Many thanks.

I presume this notebook is offered with 64bit version only (specification) and there is only one way to install 32 bit OS version you must install it using original Microsoft Win7 32 bit installation disc.
Please note: for OS activation you cannot use product key from the sticker. You must buy new licence for your own installation.
By the way: check also if this notebook model is supported for 32 bit version. You can do this on Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
If you have more questions you are welcome.

  • Any way to downgrade from 64bit to 32 bit Vista OS

Is there any option to downgrade 64bit machine to 32 bit vista OS...Most of the application is not working with 64bit and Its hard to keep purchasing all softwares for 64bit machine...

There are simpler VPN apps than Citrix, Hamachi for example. The compatibility mode is simply a case of right clicking the executable, going to the compatibility tab and setting the options. I've got a feeling the only thing you'll need to do is set the privilege level to Run as administrator. It's nothing to do with 64bit anything.

  • How do find out the ebs its 64bit or 32 bit OS

    hi GURU's
How can i find out the OS whether it is 32bit or 64bit please let me know
    Regards
    suresh

You should see the kernel version when you login and when doing uname -a. If you see i686 you are 32 bit, if you see x86-64, you are 64-bit. Also realize that only R12 is certified for 64-bit Linux.

  • 64bit or 32 bit ?

    Hi everyone
I want to know if my imac is 32 bit or 64 bit. can anyone tell me how i find this out. I have no idea where to start. i have looked around but have not found this information.
    Thanks for any help

Keep in mind that 64bit processing is still in infancy and really built for quad cores systems with tons of RAM.
    {quote:}seems that I have a 2.66 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo bought early 2008. So from what I gather that is 64 bit{quote}
Yes it is and most of your OS X app's are already 64bit.

    {quote:}I want to run Adobe after effects.{quote}
Your current Core2Duo with 4GB of RAM will run Adobe After Effects CS5 in 64bit, but to really take full advantage of CS5 and other 64 bit applications one really needs a system that supports 10, 12, 16GB of RAM.

    Hello
Is there a list of 32 bit plugins that will work with Windows7 64 bit and CS5 64 and 32bit?
    I use Xenofex2
    KPT3
    KPT6
    KPT Collection
    Eye Candy 3.1
    Andromeda 3D deluxe
    Flo's Undistort
    Redfield Plugins
    Mike Engles

    Hello
    Thanks for the reply.
It seems that I will need to spend £110 ($165) to find out. That would go a little way to buying a Canon MPE 65 Macro lens.
Very likely I will say where I am. Windows XP Pro SP2 is good enough.
    Thanks

  • Patch for 64bit and 32 bit

    hi hussein/helios,
We are about to start implementing an EBS R12.1.1 , Can u give me notes on what are the latest patches recommended on this latest release(e.g family pack, one-off-pack, CUP, RUP, etc, etc). My boss does not like to implement it since she said it is still "full" of bugs , she recommended R12.0.6 . But the client is insisting on the latest R12.1.1 because they said its the version Oracle delivered to them and what they paid for. By the way the server OS is 64-bit. Are all patches applicable to both 64 and 32 bit OS and EBS?
    Thanks a lot
    MsK

    Hi,
If the application is 64-bit, then download/apply the 64-bit version of the patch. If the 64-bit does not exist and you have the 32-bit version, you can apply this one.

  • Downgrade win7 from 64bit to 32 bit.

    Hi,
Just purchased a T520 with Win7 64 bit. I am anticipating problems with this as we use quite a lot of engineering software (often old) and would be better if we had a 32bit version. Can I get a set of disks from Lenovo for this?

I believe they will sell you some after they verify what came with the serial number you have.

  • DS Installation in Win2003 64bit-Oracle 32 bit Error

    Hello,
I installed Data Services 12.2.2 in a Windows Server 2003 64 version, connection with BW and DB2 64 bit is fine, but with Oracle 10g 32 bit is not working.
For testing I installed the same Oracle client in Win XP and DS worked fine accesing the database.
But in Win Server 2003 64, DS datastore can't find the OCI.dll file that it's in the Oracle/bin installation folder. The Path variable has the Oracle client path set correctly.
SQL*Plus can access fine the same database. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks.
    Fco.

is Data Services installed on location which contains (x86) in the path ?
is Oracle installed on location which contains (x86) in the path ?
if yes, then check the SAP Note 1295918

When I send a print to my Epson 3800, the first time I try it the print is ugly and looks un- or incorrectly- profiled.  Idf I resend the same image without touching the print dialogue settings (they're the same as the first print) the print looks great.  Current epson drivers, correct settings for PS to manage color, it all works fine with CS4...
    Thoughts?

  • BOXI3.1 32 bit vs 64bit Win

Any comments on deploying BOXI3.1 on 64bit vs 32 bit Windows OS?
Memory: since BOE would still run in 32bit mode, I'm not sure it can breach 2GB memory limit, which defeats the purpose of using 64bit infrastructure in the first place
CPU: I could not find any reasonable comparison of BOE running in 32bit mode vs running in 32bit mode on 64bit infrastructure. Some folks say it should be faster, but no documented results.
Storage: majority of i/o limits are driven by hardware, not software. So should not be big difference betwen 32bit compare to 64bit. Add again BO cannot exceed 2GB Virtual memory limit
What are real advantages to go with 64bit for BOE?

    Hello Oleg,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all BOE Administration queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Best regards,

  • I have to complain for once... (64-bit drivers are po

As a whole I've had very little issues with Creative cards, other than when I had a poor Via chipset to my socket A computer I've had almost no trouble.
The reason I've been purchasing Creative cards at all has been because I really enjoy EAX audio, especially in dark engine games (thief + 2 + system shock 2).
I've had Li've, Audigy + 2 and now for quite some time X-Fi extrememusic. I only use two channel analog outputs (X-fi digital out seems to distort at times).
Alright, that's a quick recap and something positi've.
Well then, I decided I should try to step into the 64bit world a bit early to see if my work and gaming can be improved by 4GB RAM.
So I try the 64bit Vista Ultimate and all I get out of the audio is noise...at very high levels no matter the sound levels used. Rebooting does not help at all. i've got no room on my motherboard to move the card around to another PCI-slot.
In XP64 Pro, similar problems occur, the sound can be heard but it's extremely noisy. Totally unusable...
Audio in Vista 32bit worked a bit better but I had some other issues with is so I didn't really want to use it, not going to use DX0 for quite some time.
    System:
    e6300 @ 300 (.275v), Scythe Ninja + Nexus 20, Gigabyte GA965-S3 (bios 8), 4xGB Kingmax DDR800 @ 880 (.8v), x900xt 256MB (Thermalright HR03 + Nexus 20 @ 7v), 2x Samsung t66 500GB, X-Fi extrememusic, 20." Philips 200WP7ES, Seasonic S2 500w
Overclocking has absolutely no effect on the audio problems.
So creative, if you wish to have me as a customer for future needs, work harder on those drivers(!)

Same here. I have 64 bit vista home premium and all I get is loud static /noise from my 5. speaker system. I am using the 2_5_0002 driver. I waited for about 6 freakin months for a?freakin fix just to get a driver with the same exact problems as the last one. I'm about ready to take this POS soundcard out and smash it into my dri'veway with a sledge hammer. By the time the Einsteins here write a driver that works vista will be on its way out!!!!!!! If anybody can recommend a sound card that actually works I'm listening...Message Edited by oldpaint on -04-20070: AM
