7.5 web-auth client sleep timer feature

The 7.5 release advertises the ability to configure a timeout value so that guest clients which go to sleep are not re-prompted for web-auth. Does anyone know if 7.5 would only be required on the anchor WLC or must it also be on the foreign? We utilize web-auth for a guest WLAN and anchor it to a WLC in the DMZ. Preference would be to NOT load 7.5 on every WLC we have and only upgrade our guest anchor.

I was making some tests with sleeping client with a infrastructure like this:
- 2 foreign ( 5508 ) with the APs and client association
- 2 anchor ( 4402 ) on the DMZ
- radius for client auth
From my understand the :
- clients are associated to the foreign but
- the authentication is forwarded to the anchor
( I can see the request on the radius with the anchor NAS IP address and, before the client is authenticated, i get the status as REQ_D state on the anchor )
So I suppose the sleeping client feature should be on the anchor ( or on both wontroller ) and not only on the foreign. I'm wrong ?
If You've some Idea to let it works with only sleeping config on the foreign i will solve one big issue because my anchors are 4402 without sleeping feature available.
All is working fine on the foreign if I remove the anchor configuration ( by the way, like this isn't anymore a foreign )

Sleep Timer Feature in iTunes via Remote iOS app

I'm not sure this is the venue for this, but I would like the "Remote" iOS app (currently version 3.0.1) to let me set a "sleep timer" when I play a radio station on my iMac iTunes 11. I think this means iTunes must first have a "sleep timer" feature built-in before the Remote app can use it. There have been third-party "sleep timer" add-ons for YEARS, and yet Apple has not deemed it necessary to add the feature into iTunes. Unfortunately, these third-party add-ons cannot be accessed via the Remote app.
Anyone here found a work-around?

ok so the remote app is grouping all my album artists together under one Artist name: "various artists"
need to find a way to stop this from happening

Sleep timer feature

A sleep timer feature would be great. I enjoy listening to music while I'm falling asleep but I dont like it playing all night draining my battery or having to turn it off myself before i sleep.

Web Auth FAIL on guest wlan

We have a 2100 Wlan controller set up with multiple wlans.
We are having problems on the Guest VLAN in that everytime a user tries to authenticate via Web Auth, they fail and are redirected to the username/password page.
Local accounts have been added and the WLAN has been set up to use web auth but each time a user tries to authenticate the following message is in the log:-
NOV 21 09:47:21.852 pem_api.c:4513 PEM-1-WEBAUTHFAIL : Web Authentication Failure for station aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
If the box is rebooted it works for around an hour, then begins to fail again.
Any ideas?

Netbeans 6.1: Can not create Web Service Client

Hi
I am trying to create a Web Service Client in Netbeans 6.1. The error message is:
Web Service Client can not be created by JAXWS:wsimport utility.
Reason: Could not initialize class com.sun.xml.ws.api.addressing.AddressingVersion
Does someone have an idea what problems is? Note that I have created web service clients many times before without problems.

Sleep timer/idle shutoff, stop playback automatically when playlist is done

since this question's been asked and I was wondering if a new firmware released in the meantime added a sleep timer feature? Or as a workaround has an idle shutoff that will activate 30 mins or so after the last playlist is done playing? Cause on my friend's iPod (her first Apple ever) after all playlists are done the device starts playback from the beginning so if you listen to some audiobook at bedtime and slumber off the Shuffle will continue playback all night.

WLC 7.5 Sleeping clients with ISE and Central WEB Auth(CWA)

Is it possibe to use sleeping clients when using ISE and CWA?
I was thinking of enabling layer3 auth with web auth on mac auth failure, but will that work with CWA?
Or is the only solution to use LWA?

Controller-> General-> User Idle Timeout (seconds) = 50 000 sec.

Wireless 3850 and Web-Auth for Wireless clients

I can't get the web-auth feature to work properly on the Catalyst 3850 for wireless clients.
Internet is all tested and there is full IP connectivity.
Issue is when I enable the webauth feature on the SSID. Incidentally when I enable the SSID to use consent it works.
I am using local authentication for the guest users.
When user logs onto the wireless, they get to the landing page, and are able to enter the credentials then there is a 30 second pause. The client detail says WEBAUTH_PEND and then a pop up window comes back as seen below

Did you also define the global webauth parameter? I think I had to do this to get my 5760 "working" or as working as these new controllers can be.

Are you using a self signed cert?
I saw windows clients take a long time to load the page when using a self signed cert.
MAC clients dont seem to work if you use the IOS or OSX based logon. You'll need to disable the auto logon and launch a browser for the redirect. There was a bug ID around this MAC problem which was supposedly resolved in 3.3.1SE but I still have the problem.

I would suggest checking out http://www.logiforms.com. They have really good PDF support for both hosted PDF's and generating PDFs. You can:

Report Developed in Webi Rich Client Consuming more time in Data Retrieval

Dear All,
I am a BO Consultant, recently in my project I have developed one report in Webi Rich Client., at the time of development and subsequent days the report was working fine (taking Data Retrieval time less than 1 minute), but after some days its taking much time (increasing day by day and now its taking more than 11 minutes).
Can anybody point out what could be the reason?????
We are using,
1. SAP BI 7.0
2. SAP BO XI 3.1 Edge
3. Webi Rich Client Version :12.3.0 and Build 601
This report is made on a Multiprovider (Sales).
What are the important points that should be considered so that we can improve the performance of Webi Reports????

Please come back here with a copy/paste of the 2 MDX statements from the MDA.log to compare the good/bad runtimes.
& the 2 equivalent DPCOMMANDS clauses (good and bad) from the WebI trace logs.
Can u explain what u really mean in the bold text above..................Actually I didn't get you..........

Client Excluded ReasonCode on WLC for Web Auth

I wonder if you can point me at a table that defines the Reason Code(s) for Client Exclusion Failure? See the example event log entry below from a Guest Controller for Web Authentication failure (that was resolved - Internet router down) but I was wondering if the Reason Codes would be useful in troubleshooting. CSCsy88149 Chained certificate can not have Wildcard * character in hostname
Even if bought at verisign or any root CA, your cert has a good chance of being chained since they very often use an intermediate CA. I know wildcard certs are supported but this bug seems to say that it doesn't work for chained.

Windows 7 Clients Not Working With Web-Auth

I am using 5508 controllers, configured for WEB-AUTH passthrough, Windows XP clients work fine but Windows 7 clients are hit and miss getting redirected to the splash screen.
The login page is customised showing T's & C's with two buttons Except or Reject.
Do I need to Pre-Auth with ACL's? Has anyone had similar issues, or any good doc's etc.

Many thanks for your relpy, the problem is that this is a guest network that's also avalable to the public and I dont have any control over the end clients.
After doing a quick search on the net I found this.
NCSI : Uses a combination of DNS and/or HTTP look ups to tell if you are connected to the Internet. The way NCSI does this is either via a HTTP request for http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt or a DNS look up for dns.msftncsi.com that resovles to 131.107.255.255.
NCSI does this whether you are logged on or not.
Do I need to Create a Preauthentication ACL on the Guest WLAN interface:-
Configure a preauthentication ACL on the WLAN to allow wireless clients to allow:-
1. Permit DNS resolution (UDP/53) to 213.199.181.90
2. Permit TCP port 80 to 131.107.255.255

WLC Client excluded - web authentication failed 3 times

Is there any more I can do with the following? The customer only has 4400 controllers and WCS' both on the highest firmware currently available...
An example of the alert generated in the event of an excessive authentication failure is as follows:
Client '08:60:6e:35:7c:29 (172.16.235.133)' which was associated with interface '802.11b/g/n' of AP '25CS-AP21-24SE' is excluded. The reason code is '5(Web Authentication failed 3 times.)'.
E-mail will be suppressed up to 30 minutes for these alarms.
I need clarification of the following so that a process can be put in place to show if it is possible to deal with potential threats/attempts to hack into the network as the customers security are not accepting notification only. Therefore please advise:
- What does ‘excluded’ mean in this scenario? Is the client permanently excluded or only temporarily?
- If the client is not permanently excluded - if there are multiple occurrences of this alert for the same client can the client be disabled via the WCS console?
- If necessary could e-mail suppression be turned off - for this alert only?
Hope you can help but I think they need Prime and ISE to satisfy their security concerns myself!

Web Intelligence Rich Client Loading time

Hi all,
Need some help.
Anyone know what's the specification requirement to use the BO XI R3.1 Client Tools example for Web Intelligence Rich Client. I have an issue from client saying that their Web Intelligence Rich Client loading too slow before they can reach the login page (not connecting to the BO Environment, just opening the Webi Rich Client program used approximately 50 seconds before they can reach the login page as they told us). Is it because of the specification issue or it's actually others factor that causing this "trouble"?

Web Cal Client event update timming

I am running Calendar Server 2.2. I have windows Clients that use the Web Cal Client to access their calendar and some of them have delegates. When I delegate makes or updates an event, it takes about 5 minutes for the changes to show up on the owner web calendar client. Can this be configured to be faster or immediate?
The owners are physicians and the delegates are secretaries that make constant changes on the calendars and the owners need to see those changes quickly.

Same problem here! Apple should really get their act together if they are serious about groupware and their server software; all-day events are a crucial part of a calendaring system!
I wonder if Apple actually use their own software? I can't imagine that they'd let this one go on unsolved for this long
