Question

I have a MSI 790FX-GD70 and bought the OCZ3BE16000C8LV4GK memory to go with my Phenom II 965 BE CPU. Memory is supposed to work with 790 chipsets and BE CPUs. It is not listed on the "Test" list for this MOBO. When I set the AOD BEMP the system will not even boot. I checked OCZ and they setting they gave me didn't work for me. It seems to have worked for a couple of people.
Of the memory that is on the "Test" for this MOBO most of hem are for Intel, why's that?? There's only 1 brand 4GB stick that will run at 1600????

The Phenom II CPU's memory controller natively supports up to 1333mhz memory speed. To run faster memory, you must overclock the memory controller. And these faster sticks are also not 'natively' 1600mhz etc, but are 'overclock rated' sticks.
Start with the basics: insert 1 stick of RAM, clear CMOS, power on your PC, enter BIOS settings, and make sure memory settings are set to Default or AUTO. If your memory has SPD settings for 1333mhz, then it will start with those settings. Make sure everything works fine at these settings, then add the other stick.
If this works okay, then you can start tweaking the settings to get it to run at the faster speed.
