8 pin dock cable to usb 3.5mm stereo

So i was wondering if a cable like this exist. I know for the 30 pin they do have it but i cannot find one for a 8 pin. I want it to be like you are connecting your phone to a dock but without a dock. Something i'm talking about is like this but for an iphone 5.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_(connector)
the pinout suggest that unlike the pin30 the lightning connector don't carry analogue audio
so for it to have a 3.5mm mini active electronics would be required and likely an ac power source to power that DAC and protocol interpreter

How do I use my ipod in the car without it constantly charging?  I have to use a docking cable into the USB port because the 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack I bought doesn't work with the ipod (although it does work with an MP3 player).  My ipod is a 5th generation 80GB classic.

I know this is old - but did you ever get this working. Thinking of getting a 780 ti card and I have an older mac with the mini-displayport too.

  • Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable PROBLEM

I had my iPhone plugged into my Mac book at the coffee shop this weekend using the dock connector to USB cable. After a while, I kept getting a message on my phone that said "This accessory is not compatible with your device. Would you like to turn on Airplane mode?"
I thought this was odd since the connector was an Apple product; I've never seen this message before, and I've had my iPhone plugged into my laptop several times before.
I didn't think anything of it, so I kept selecting 'No' after getting this message repeatedly. I had no reason to question the integrity of my iPhone or its accessories since I don't misuse or mistreat anything ever.
After a while, I looked down and noticed white smoke coming out of where the cable connects to the phone! I immediately unplugged everything and noticed the burnt and melted section of the connector part and in the phone itself. I left my phone unplugged until I could get to the Apple store.
I have to say, I believe these cables are not made very well. Luckily, the Apple store replaced my phone and my cable for free without any hassle. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Is Apple doing anything about this?
    -Still an iPhone fan.

Doing anything about what ? Other people's faulty computers which go over voltage and fry iPhones ?
The initial message you got is indicative of a short circuited or dirty dock connector so it was probably dirt on the connector or iPhone which caused the problem. No they aren't likely to. I've never heard of this before but I am glad they replaced your iPhone so swiftly !

  • Dock connector to usb cable

Just wondering about the dock connector to usb cable that came with my new iPhone 4S:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA591G/B?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ
I have an iPod 5th Generation (Video), part number MA147LLA which has a very similar connector. I'm wondering if the two are interchangeable. The white part of the iPod dock connector looks a little bigger than the one for the iPhone 4S but the actual connector itself still fits. I'd like to keep one in the car for when I need to do a charge when I'm away.
Anyone else using this same cable with both, their iPod and iPhone?

  • USB/dock cable

We have an iPad 2, 4th gen. iPod Touch and 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th gen. iPod Nanos. Will the current USB/dock cable support all models to both sync and charge them? Or do I need older cables for the older Nanos in order to charge them? At which point did the dock connector change?

the cable support all of them!

  • Dock cable broken after only 1 month of use

I use the dock cable to connect my ipod classic 80gb to the sony stereo in my car with the usb port. After 1 month of use the cable doesn't connect to the stereo anymore and say Usb not device and only if i put the cable in a strange position it works for sometime and than again usb not device , than it works and after a bit it doesn't work anymore.I try to connect to itunes but the problem is the same. The cable cost €19 and i don't want to buy another because surely after a month it will be broken again so i just want to know why this happen.Someone can give me an advice?

Can you try eBay for the docking cables, since you sound like a cable destroyer.
I think on eBay, the cables are less than €9 or if from some Oriental countries less €1 which maybe where your fragile cable comes from.

  • Connecting my iPod to my Car's 30-pin Dock but Being Able to Control It from Within the iPod?

I have a 5th Generation iPod nano. I own a 2008 VW Eos which has a 30-pin dock. It functions but, my car's UI for iPod is nefastous. I wanted to know if there was a way to control the music within the iPod.

Not using the dock connection.  That is for data, and your car audio system is "in charge" of playing the songs.  However, if the car audio system has an auxiliary audio input that is a standard mini-stereo jack (looks like headphones jack), you can connect the iPod there using a commonly available cable, like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Auxiliary-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B002 AR5XIK
Then, play your iPod through the car's speakers.

  • Any difference between Apple MA591G/A or MA591G/B dock cables?

I have just ordered an Apple Universal Dock (Model MB125G/C), and need
to order a USB dock cable to hook it up to my Mac.
Apple is currently selling the Apple Cable MA591G/B ... but I was wondering
if the previous Apple Cable (MA591G/A), would work with the newer Universal iPod Dock?
I will be using the new dock with a 3rd gen. iPod Touch.
    Any info would be appreciated.

So are both 30 Pin ... and it's just more or less a "design" issue
    with the end connector shape?
Or ... does the newer cable (MA591G/B), have some advantages with
newer iPod Touch's or iPhone's being released as the 4th Gen. versions?

  • How to diagnose a broken 30 pin dock connector?

Is there a "diagnostic" application to determine if my Iphone 4 — 30 pin dock connector is fully functional? BTW - all lint and dirt has been removed (delicately). This iPhone has been able to perform TV/video out and mirror display with a (still) fully functional 30 pin to VGA connector, VGA cable and VGA equipped monitors. This phone currently cannot perform the same task. Only other variable is a conflict with iOS 6.1.3.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Dual Display Issues, Mini Display Cable, Firewire, USB, Nothing Works

I am working on a project for my supervisor, the specifics of each machine are listed below to the best of my ability:
    Machine 1:
    iMac9,1 Intel Core 2 Duo
    Version: 10.6.8
    Build: 10K549
    Machine 2:
    iMac10,1 Intel Core 2 Duo
    Version: 10.6.8
    Build:10K549
I have a iLuv Mini DisplayPort Cable, a 9-Pin to 9-Pin Firewire Cable, a M/M USB Cable and an ethernet cable.  What I have been trying to do is link these two computers together so that each can be used as a seperate processor but their screens can be shared.  Before anyone tells me this is impossible, these two monitors have in the past been connected together so there was the ability to dual use the computer monitors.  I do not remember if I actually had the processing power of both available.  When I plug the minidisplay port cable from one computer to the other the screen on Machine 2 will blink black to blue and then go back to an independent screen.  The displays tab on neither computer shows two displays and none of the command f2 or f3 prompts are causing either computer to respond.  I have tried connecting them with firewire and USB and can only get disk transfer mode from the Firewire.  I know these computers used to be able to support being connected to one another and now I have no idea what is going on.  I don't personally remember having a minidisplay port cable in the beginning so its possible I am going about this all wrong.  I have called Apple Support many times and they suggested an OSX reinstall.  I found the reinstallation software for 10.6.3 for a macbook 13 inch and each computer recognized the disc but said that the operating system could not be installed.  At this point I have done everything I can think of including running a hardware test through the diagnostic tool at startup and on both computers the test came up with no error codes.  Please please help me get these computers working again for my boss!
    -Alan

Both the 9,1 (Early 2009) and 10,1 (Late 2009) iMac's only support Target Disk Mode using FireWire.
see > Target Disk Mode vs. FireWire networking | Macworld
or > Apple Tips Using Target Disk Mode
Adding that if the Late 2009 is a 27" then it supports Mini DisplayPort input for use as a monitor from another Mini DisplayPort Mac.
see > iMac: How to use your iMac as a Target Display Mode display
An Ethernet cable can be used for Networking and File Sharing the two iMac's.
see > Mac Basics: File Sharing
Plus connecting two iMac's together with a USB cable, will do nothing except trip the USB port overloads or something worse.

  • Male 30 pin to female 30 pin extension cable

Does anyone know who makes a male 30 pin to female 30 pin extension cable or converter. Can't find one online and the reps at the Apple store were not helpful. I can't attach any accessories that need to be flush with the 60g IPod (such as the FM Transmitter, docking station) without taking it out of the case which increases the chance of scatching it.
    Thx

If you just want something to lift the iPad a little and make it charge with other older style firewire based chargers, maybe you want this -> Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPhone 3G
A quick Google search shows results for the male to female 30-pin extension you described.
