[865PE/G Neo2 Series] Can use Intel IAA v5.0.0.0132 on 865PE Neo2-PFISR board?

I am currently using Intel IAA v3.5.3 configured as RAID 0 on my two SATA HDD.
I've decided to re-format my HDD and reinstall Win XP SP2 and I am wondering whether I can use the latest version of the IAA driver (as shown on Intel website for 865 chipsets). The official driver on MSI's site is only version 3.5.6.6282.

My M/B have updated to version 3.A (latest as per webiste). I will try to use the new Intel IAA driver v5.x.x when I re-installing my system. I am a "sucker" for updating drivers, etc. I just want to know whether there will be any incompatibility ie. have any one try later versions than MSI's official drivers. Will post after my re-installation. Wish me luck.....

I am not sure that I have a complete understanding of your question. Are you attempting to use LabVIEW Events (Functions >> Application Control >> Events) with your Advantech DAQ board? This will not be possible. Could you expand upon the functionality you are trying to achieve?

NI 9853 C Series CAN module Synchronization

OK, this is goning to be long to explain...First of all Im using a CompactRIO 9004 system with 9104 Chassis and the NI9853 high speed CAN module. Ive been able to perform a loopback test between CAN0 and CAN1 ports of the 9853 module (with standard and extendend IDs). I also have a fully functional CAN network consisting of Microchip hardware, specifically two dsPIC30F4011's with the MCP2551 CAN transceiver and one 18f4553 with an MCP2515 CAN controller and a MCP2515 CAN transceiver, this network also works well within itself (I send messages through the CAN network and the PICs are able to control some servos). Im trying to interface the cRIO and NI9853 with this CAN network, but neither the NI9853 module will successfully transmit or recieve from any of the PICs. Funny thing is that I connect everything to the same physical bus (twisted pair cable with 120ohm terminators) and Im still able to transmit from CAN0 to CAN1 of the NI9853, and also the PICs are able to transmit/recieve within themselves. I think it all has to do with sync issues, the thing is; Ive gone as far as programatically writing the BTR0 and BTR1 registers of the NI9853 module (which has a Phillips SJA1000 CAN controller) to match those used by the Microchip hardware, and still no communication. Im trying to transmit at 1Mbit/s, using 20Mhz clocks on my external CAN network, for this Im using 10 time quantas to represent the nominal bit time, from what I understand from both CAN controller datasheets (MCP2515 and SJA1000) the definition of the segments and the sampling point for the bits is what is of importance (as well as the scaler value), Ive matched both to identical values by manipulating the BTR0 and BTR1 registers of the SJA1000 (NI's 9853) CAN controller. From what I know the FPGA on the cRIO runs at 40Mhz, with this a 20MHz clock for the NI9853 is possible. Here is the thing, when selecting the properties for the 9853 module and selecting a preset from the "Baud Rate" drop-list for any CAN port, if the "Advanced" button is pressed the "Specifiy Baud Rate as Bit Timing Registers" value changes accordingly to the preset value specified in the drop-list, that is, if I select 1000 kbits/s, BTR1 gets the value 0x14 and BTR0 gets 0x00; if I select 500 kbits/s BTR1 gets 0x1C and BTR0 gets 0x00. Also on the same properties window for the 9853, there is a "Module" tab, with a drop-list labeled "Module Clock" the values I can select here are 20Mhz and 10MHz. Turns out that the value of the baud rate as specified in the advanced tab by the bit registers is not affected if I select 10Mhz or 20Mhz; also in order to have a 1000 kbit/s speed with a 0x14 value on BTR1 a 16MHz clock speed should be used (according to the definitions of the SJA1000's datasheet for BTR1 and BTR0). Also all documentation I could find regarding nonstandard baud rates on the NI site apparently refers to the CAN controller NI hardware series 1 used (Intels 82527, which actually runs at 16Mhz) from what Ive been able to research this chip has identical Bit timing registers to the ones of the SJA1000 controller, proof of this is the document labeled "How to Configure CAN Ports for Custom Baud Rates" (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4304), which shows a map of the registers of Intels chip, and is identical to the one found on the SJA1000s datasheet. On other document titled "How Can I Set Nonstandard Baud Rates in NI-CAN?" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/CBA1FC627FFA0F8F862564DC0071B3A7?OpenDocument), the same information appears regarding the way the NI-CAN driver handles baud rates (again using Intels chip, which by the way is incorrectly specified to be running at 8Mhz). Using 20Mhz and the BTR1+BTR0 combination 0x1400, the SJA1000 yields 1.25Mbits/s, not even a possible speed on the CAN bus. Bottom line is, I think I cant interface my CAN network with the NI 9853, because of this strange issue. Im just wondering if anybody has any idea how to do this, or at least what is the speed the 9853 module runs on, with this I think I could at least try and find a value to match the 1Mbit on my network. Finally Ive attached the project Im running on the fpga target (Ive set the Module Clock on 20Mhz, disabled auto-start for both CAN ports and specified to run the Baud rate from the time registers using BTR1: 0x34 and BTR0: 0x00 values for the timing registers). Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance...

One final thing, this is the only thing regarding external sync that Ive found so far....its the "NI CAN Product Compatibility and Feature Table" (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5859#_ftn1) take a look at the footnote it says a digital module is needed, would it be a digital 9401 module? Ive also got one of those.

The accuracy and performance is the same for both the PXI and PCI 6602s. Intel HM77 Express/C210 Series Chipset using eSATA port multiplier

I have just purchased a Zotac Nano computer which uses Intel HM77 Express chipset and has an eSATA port. I was surprised to notice my 8-bay hard disk enclosure did not work on this machine. I have read online that the Intel chipset supports eSATA port multipler in hardware but that the Windows drivers do not have it supported. However, some reports are that it should work under Linux.
Does anyone have any idea about getting the on-board eSATA port to work with port multipliers?

For $7 it is worth it to see if it works. The problem on some newer model laptops is that the only dual band card listed does not actually exist. This one appears to exist.

In order to install Lion you have to have Snow Leopard and then update to 10.6.8:

Personally I suggest that you stop at Snow Leopard. It still is the most efficient OS that Apple has devised and it still works great. Go to the Lions only if there are feature that you really need. There may be a price to pay in slower performance though.

using BIOS IDE setup: Native Mode configuration with S-ATA only, both P-ATA keep Enabled and no RAID which is the only configuration that my Linux installs or starts and USB Legacy Disable for starting a Windows XP installation otherwise it crashes after a CD-ROM boot in the first blue LOAD screen of the bootable Windows XP.
so I would like to discuss the failure problem that I have:
Sometimes I push the pc's power button to power on and the system gives power to the peripherals (CDs, HDDs, FANs, etc) but the screen does not open at all and the front HDD's orange led stays always ON still. The "D-Bracket 2" shows at once started 2 green leds (2nd and 3nd) and two yellow (?!?!?!) or 2 red (2nd and 3rd) and two yellow (?!?!?!). I'm surprised about the yellow!!! I tried out several setups after failure like: barebone, just the CPU installed with no memory, GPU or HDDs etc, another different type of PSU or unplugging any cable (from the USBs' or the D-Bracket's to the Power/HDD/Reset Leds and the FANs') but nothing changed at all. Finally if I "Clear CMOS" using the Jumper JBAT1 as the manual's information, everything goes well and the pc starts excellent again but then, in a random time after a power on or a restart it does the same failure. I do this post because this was happening really rarely in the past but now this is happening usually (once in a week I can say) with no hardware change since a while. Thank you in advance for your time and I will be thankful for any help.

If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.
{With the correct disc installer, you can use it to change a password and other
things including re-install, and perform disk utility functions, etc.}
There is a chance you may be able to get a white-label Replacement 10.4 DVD
or Replacement 10.5 DVD from AppleCare or the online Apple Store (800myapple)
from a Mac OS X system specialist; these have been available yet hard to get
as not all persons involved with them seem to know if they still exist until someone
is asking. These aren't retail stock, are special discs for computers who could use
a system later than original old discs; these are complete install discs not for one
specific series of Mac. Generally they'd work in supported PowerPC G4/G5; but
do not replace specialized original install DVD, such as an early Intel mac requires.
You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.

I am very happy with my Portege R835, except for the sata-issue....severely limiting my SSD speed, as I as many others bought this computer specifically because I thought it supported Sata 3. It is absolutely horrific of Toshiba to limit the sata speeds without telling their customers about it!! They will definitely lose thousands of customers on this rather stupid move of theirs. Unbelievable!! Why ruin such a good computer. Sell customers a Ferrari not telling them it's speed limited to 80mph. Toshiba; be up front about such vital information to your customers!!!

[865PE NEO2 PFISR] Won't boot with added memory

Recently I upgraded a few items on my PC which has been running fine for 18 months or so. I changed out the video card and bought double the memory of the same brand and type it had in it. I went from 1gig (2 sticks) and added two more sticks. But now it won't boot. The power is on but no output whatsoever.
I RMA'd the memory thinking that might be the problem but it's the same with the new set. I tried all sorts of memory/slot combos. Basically, the new memory works fine if you swap it out in bank A with the old stuff. That's how it's running right now, so I know all of the sticks are good. I can take a third and put it in either slot bank B and it'll boot, but obviously not run properly. But any combination of these four sticks and the system won't boot!
Please help!

What brand, model, and speed are the RAM sticks. Did you check your Test Report booklet which came with the mobo. If you can't find it, you can go to the MSI website and look for your MOBO and get the test report that way. Some brands/models will that have been tested are shown in the report to be okay in all 4 slots, some only test okay in 2 or 3. Check this report and if it is one of the brands/model/speed tested you will see how it fared. It may well be you the MOBO doesn't like your RAM in 3 or 4 slots.
Maybe I missed it, but did you try each slot with only one stick at a time? You may also have a bad RAM slot.

At home, my computer is running 64 bit Windows 7, has 4 GB of RAM, a 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and can be turned on and online 24/7, such that if necessary, it can direct traffic sent to it.
My router/modem at home is (I believe) a Westell 327W, I can get more information by looking at it later if necessary.
At school, as of last year (and probably the same this year), the computers run Windows XP, and I am able to run programs installed on a flash drive on them, though cannot actually install programs on the computers themselves.
