8820 email account error

I'm getting an error: The computer does not know its message account address. Either the messaging system is not configured properly or this messaging system is not supported". I am using desktop version 4.3.017.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Blackberry Desktop Software uses your messaging system on to your PC Computer.
It recognizes Novell Groupwise, MS Outlook and Lotus Notes messaging systems.
Google Mail is not supported by Blackberry Desktop Software.
In case you're using Google Mail setup MS Outlook to work with your Google Mail account.
And after that setup or reinstall Blackberry Desktop Software to let it be connected to the MS Outlook.

Anyway, Safari is one of the strictist browsers when it comes to rendering pages and scripts. I would first try another Mac browser, such as Firefox, to see if it is Safari that is the problem or if it is because there might be some Windows-specific coding involved. Let us know what happens.

2nd email account error - cannot get mail

I have both email accounts set up the same however when trying to access the inbox of the second account an error message comes up

What should I do please help?

You can try deleting and recreating the offending email account on the ipad.
But first, have you tried a restart? Hold down the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo appears on the ipad screen.

I just launched my new site and when I am adding one particular email address to this website, I keep recieving the following message
"Error Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created"
This email was my client's old email address and now he is loosing all messages!!!

Hey guys, I've found a way to fix several of these problems. Well, it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others.
Problem #1: "Error Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created."
Solution:
Login to the admin console with the username and password of the e-mail account you are trying to setup.
Hover over the users name to the top right of the screen. "Eric Platt" in my case.
Click on "My Details
Change the "Default Site" drop down to the site you are using for e-mail.
Click Save
Try to setup the e-mail account again
Problem #2: No activation e-mail / password setup e-mail
Solution: After you create the e-mail account for a current site admin and you don't (I never did) receive the e-mail it says it sent, do the following.
Login to the admin console with the username and password of the e-mail account you are trying to setup.
Hover over the users name to the top right of the screen. "Eric Platt" in my case.
Click on "My Details (NOTE: You will now have a link for "Web Mail" that works, but that's not the point of this)
Change the password (you can change it back to what it was immediately if you want). This syncs the e-mail password with the admin password.
Now you can login to webmail (mail.YourSite.com) or setup Outlook, Mac Mail, iPhone etc..
Hope this helps others avoid the stress I went through!

Check the parameters in your email account against what is recommended by your email provider.

I'm unable to access my yahoo email account using updated firefox browser, i keep getting error page when I use the mail link on yahoo pages

Since updating Firefox browser, i am unable to gain access to my yahoo email account. I can access the email with Interent Explorer with no trouble. Whenever I click on a mail link on the yahoo sites to check my mail, I get rerouted to an error page ..... "Sorry, we can't find "ca.mg4.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.gx=1". Please check the spelling of the web address." is what is said at top of page whenever I click on any mail links.

This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.

You have to go to SMTP settings for your email account and enter a password there. Sended and receiving are two different activities managed by 2 differet servers, and each may require a separate user ID and password.

What worked for me was resetting my password on my email then rebooted my iPhone 4S.

I get this error message frequently when logging into my email account and trying to get new messages.

Error message says: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure your file system allows you to write privileges and you have enough desk space to copy the mailbox.

Unable to open attachments in my aol email account, i get a run time error. I am able to open them in ie. Also unable to open up a downloaded doc in word.

Since updating to firefox 15. whatever and now 16.0.1, i have been unable to open up any email attachments in my aol email account. I am able to view them via internet explorer. Initially the attachment will open (i can see it) but then a message of "run time error" comes up and when I close that window, the document goes blank. Also, today I clicked on a link via an aol news story and the same thing happened. It went to my firefox downloads, I was able to see part of the document and then that window with "run time error" message in it popped up. Help!!!!

This is a tip I got from ehow.com:
"While less common in Firefox, runtime errors can still occur on that browser. To prevent it from happening again, merely uninstall and reinstall Firefox on your computer."

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
