It sounds like you may not have it configured properly to use cookies or something else I'm missing but you might want to try this: a) login to OTN from the homepage to make sure your cookie is set b) navigate to the page you need to download from c) launch getright separately d) copy the URL from the download page and paste into Getright (File --> Enter new URL to download) This is assuming you have v 5.0.2
Let us know how it goes.

  • Invalid Zip archive error

I've downloaded Oracle 92010NT_Disk2.zip, when I try to unzip, it gives me an invalid archive error.

Generally, this happens because the FTP connection was dropped mid-way through downloading. Download the file again and it will probably work.
Note that the download page indicates the size of the files. You want to make sure that the files you download are the same size as the web site indicates they ought to be.

  • 92010NT_Disk1.zip fails to unzip

I have downloaded 92010NT_Disk1.zip as well as the zips for disk2 and 3. Disks 2 and 3 both decompress using PKZIP just fine, but the Disk 1 keeps failing on file 998 of 3204. I downloaded the 92010NT_Disk1.zip a day later, but it continues to fail the same way. The file size on both downloads matches what the web page says they are supposed to be. I'm using a cable modem at 768Kbps.
    The site is: http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
    The size is: 612,802,971
Anyone know what might be wrong here? Thanks!

I'm running in to a similar error. I've downloaded
    92010NT_Disk1.zip
    92010NT_Disk2.zip
    92010NT_Disk3.zip
    five times now
    from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
    I've created C:\9idb_9.2.0.1 folder
    and
    C:\9idb folder w/ subfolders disk1, disk2, disk3
I download 3 zip files to C:\9idb_9.2.0.1 and when I unzip these files to their individual folders they don't unzip all three come back as invalid file archive errors.
The knowlege base and previous answers on the forum w/ regard to this problem, suggests that my FTP dropped out b/c of the difference in file size. However I notice on the link above that
    92010NT_Disk1.zip is
    612,802,971 bytes
when I begin downloading the file, however it prompts progress of ___MB out of 584 MB not 612. Previous downloads of this file have been no greater than 582,162,809 bytes.
After the fifth unsuccessful attempt unzip these files, I tried using Winrar ( http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm ) instead of Winzip because Winrar uses a utility to test the integrity of the archive with a checksum. You will be able to tell if the archive is bad or if it's something else. When I extracting the zip1 file to disk1 path, I got a message reading "the archive is either unknown format or damaged." So I tried unzipping it in the same folder with Winrar, it unzipped the files successfully in the 9idb_9.2.0.1 folder but came back with an "unexpected end of archive" error. Starting to feel a little frustration...
    Help!

is corrup is ther a other link to download ? The link seems to be fine, do you mean to say the pdk.zip file which u downloaded is corrupted. If so, I'm not sure of the exact reason of corrupt file getting downloaded, but it could be possible that your download did not complete. I tried today, it is fine and functional. You could try downloading again.

  • Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.0.2.0.1) Disk 2 Need Help!

ok i just recently a couple days ago pretty much started downloading the 3 disk set of oracle 9i databse rel. 2 full thing for windows nt/xp etc anyways after 4 re-downloads using my internet explorer browser i finally got on my other pc and downloaded the 3 disks another 4 times with two download managers the best i think flashget and download accelerator... anyways i finally got disk 3 and disk 1 to download without any crc corruptions with weird files in the zips... but disk 2 i re-downloaded using flashget and dap again and again now always with errors usually jar files or similar stuff and usually about 5 broken files... anyways just now my latest attempt only gave me a zip with one corrupt file and winrar/winace/winzip all gave me this type of error:
! C:\Downloads\92010NT_Disk2.zip: CRC failed in stage\Components\oracle.p2k.xmldevkit\9.2.0.1.0\1\DataFiles\demo.1.1.jar. The file is corrupt
so if anyone can get me that file it would be GREATLY appreciated i am using way too much bandwidth on this downloading of oracle.. and after trying everything i could i am gonna try one last time in flashget to re-download the disk 2 zip file... but in the mean time if anyone found some solution like a different setting in flasget or DAP Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

yes!!! i finally got a good zip... after downloading from your west server which i only guessed existed since i downloaded from oracle-east all the time so i tried west... after re-downloading it from there i had one error which i talked about in my above/first post i only needed to fix about 1% of the file so flashget re-downloaded that 1% a couple times and finally i got a non-corrupt zip thank god!! ftp servers are an idea oracle-team but that's just my opinion well yeah bye... problem solved...

  • Unable to start intaller for Oracle 9i

I encountered difficulty in installing Oracle9i Release 2 Personal Ed onto my notebook. I was unable to start the installer when I clicked the "setup.exe" file in Disk 1 folder. Nothing happened.
    OS is Windows XP Home.
Here is the sequence of what I did:
    1. I downloaded all the 3 zip files into a folder in D partition. (D drive has 29 GB of free space; C drive has 39 GB of free space)
    A point to note here.
The size of the files that I downloaded were not the same as the ones listed on
the Oracle download website. I tried downloading a couple times, but still the same
result. The files sizes I got were
    598,441 KB for 92010NT_Disk1.zip
    525,005 KB for 92010NT_Disk2.zip
    248,495 KB for 92010NT_Disk3.zip
    2. I then unzipped the zip files, then extracted and saved the
contents of each zip files into respective folders, namely Disk 1,
    Disk 2, Disk 3.
    3. I double clicked on "setup.exe" in Disk 1 folder. Nothing happened.
    Please advice.

You are correct that Oracle does not put a space between Disk and 1. But I thought since it is only the name of the folder, it probably should not matter how you name it, and should not have effect on the installation as long as the same folder name is used consistently in the installation process.
I tried your suggestion by putting the quotes in the right places this time. But still nothing happens.
I did not create any CD for saving the respective disk files, but rather, I just saved them onto D drive. Do you think the issue stems from here?
Or, do you think the issue is due to the OS being XP home?

  • Installing 9i On Windows 2003: Unexpected end of archieve

Hi, I'm new to Oracle. Trying to install Oracle 9i on Windows 2003 Enterprise, but is having some troubles. Here's what I did:
QUESTION 1 unpacking the zip files:
step 1. downloaded Oracle9i 9.2.0.1.0 Database Release 2 Enterprise Standard Personal Edition for Windows NT 2000 XP. THere're three zip files:
    92010NT_Disk1.zip
    92010NT_Disk2.zip
    92010NT_Disk3.zip
step 2. I'm using WINRAR to unpack these zip files one by one - but always get this error message: "unexpected end of archive"
    QUESTION 2:
I was told that I must install:
"Oracle9i 9.2.0.1.0 Database Release 2 Enterprise Standard Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP"
on my windows 2003 box before I can install:
    "Oracle9i 9.2.0.3.0 for 32bit Windows 2003 Enterprise Server"
Is this correct? This is what I'm trying to do now, but I'm stuck at the unpacking stage! Help!

Sounds like your network connection is having issues. You may want to try downloading a resumable FTP client-- Oracle support has suggested GetRight http://www.getRight.com in the past.
