Your Quicken files should already be in the correct format.  Can't remember details because I converted some time ago and no longer have my old files.
Can't understand your comment about being left "high and dry."  It's been common knowledge for six months that Lion won't support PPC applications and it's been common knowledge for several years that Intuit is abandoning the Mac.
I will warn you that, even if you are able to convert now, the conversion does produce errors.

  • In Mountain Lion: Convert Chinese doesn't work

Convert selected simplified Chinese and Convert selected tranditional chinese doesn't work.
    Anybody has the same situation?

    Thanks very much.
However, I just erased whole disk and re-install a clean, new 10.8 system.  The problem has been solved I think. But the new problem is that if I selected all text and right-click on whole text or file which include english, simplified chinese and traditional chinese character (actually it's a .srt file).  "Convert text from simplified to Traditional chinese" and vice versa won't appear.
If I just selected couple sentences or lines, the functions works fine.  It's like OSX's auto detection? Not sure, but it really bother me.
Do you know why sometimes that function doesn't appear? Region? Language prority setting? All I have tried.

  • How can Mail of OS X Mountain Lion read Chinese Characters?

Mail cannot read Chinese characters. Message looks like a series of "??????". However, Safari can read Chinese characters. What setting can make Mail read Chinese Characters?

    Pippi10 wrote:

Normally that indicates an encoding glitch, where the email headers are not telling Mail the right encoding to use.  The first thing to try is Message > Text Encoding and see if UTF-8 or one of the various Chinese encodings give the right display.
Also go to View > Message > Raw Source and tell us what you see in the headers that say "charset=  ".

  • Chinese Language import issue - TCPDB

    Hi All,
Need to import Chinese Language in 4.6C. Not sure if I am doing a mistake. Any help would be appreciated.
    What I did was:
    1. I first added ZH & ZF in SE38->RSCPINST and did the simulate and activate actions.
    2. Then I imported the Chinese ZH Alone in SMLT and English as supplement (Since the language CD did not have ZF and I mistakenly added it in RSCPINST).
    3. Now I go back to SE38->RSCPINST and delete ZF because I did not import it and click Simulate and then activate it does not do anything. It just gives me the following messages and does not go further.

  • MBP downgrade to SL from Lion without backup drive

    Hi there,
I bought my 15 inch MBP only about 4 weeks ago with SL installed already on it.
Yes, I have made the mistake of upgrading to Lion and I have not made any backups at any point.
I am experiencing monitor crashes when I resume from sleep.
My MBP also did not come with a SL installation disc.
My question is simple - if I buy a copy of SL from the Apple store and install it - will it work?
    Thank you.

As I answered in the other copy of this question you posted:
Purchase replacement discs from Apple: Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information. To contact product and tech support visit online support site.
Purchase a copy of Snow Leopard which may work provided your computer doesn't require a special build of Snow Leopard.
However, I suspect reinstalling Lion may well fix your problem:
    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • How to config JDK 5.0 to use ENGLISH locale on WinXP (chinese)?

Hi, I have just uninstall my JDK 4.0 and install JDK 5.0 on my laptop, which has a Simple Chinese Windows XP on it.
When I type "javac -help", "javah -help" or "jar -help" (in fact, all .exe files in JDK/bin), I get a 'Simple Chinese' version of help. Even the compiling errors/warnings all turns to be Simple Chinese! Since I need compile my program under console whose codepage is 437(OEM-US) for some reason, that will be very inconvenient.
I'd prefer to have all the .exe files just show me ENGLISH information.
JDK 5.0 is announced as "Multilanguage", don't you agree it is kind to let user choose their own language during the JDK setup?
It will be very kind if someone can give me some advice.
Forgive me for my horroble english. I hope i have made my problem clear.
    TX.

Thanks for your kind reply, java_2006. I've just try as you said, but it seems not work yet, very unfortunately.
Maybe Sun thought that the JDK use the same language with OS locale would be a perfect idea for the developers. And I am the minority who just hardly accept this big favor :-(

  • Backdate from Mavericks to Lion?

I made the mistake of upgrading from Lion to Mavericks on my 2011 MacBook Pro. I want to restore my OS back to Lion since Mavericks is incredibly flawed & causes problems with performace & screws up syncing my brand new iPhone 5c. Is this at all possible? After the OS change, I cannot use internest restore with Lion, its only giving me the Mavericks option which I do not want or need at all since the people at Apple Inc are refusing to fix problems & issues. Personally, since Steve Jobs passed before his time, Apple Inc has followed Bill Gates' & Microsoft's failed business model & are screwing their customers who paid top dollar for top equipment.

    FreeBird74205,
if there were no grey installation DVDs in your box, then either you did not receive everything that you should have, or you have a Late 2011 (or newer) model. If you have an Early 2011 model, you are going to need to purchase a replacement pair of grey installation DVDs for your specific model from either Apple or iFixit to be able to get back to Lion. If you have a Late 2011 (or newer) model, then you could use OS X Internet Recovery to reïnstall your original version of OS X, which in the case of the Late 2011 model was Lion. If you have an Early 2011 (or older) model, then you will need to use the grey Mac OS X Install DVD as a stepping stone to get back to Lion; if you’ve already paid for Lion from the Mac App Store, then you will be able to redownload it gratis.
Apple has never been perfect; you need only check to see how many discussions have been posted here before Jobs’ death to perceive that. Apple’s support policies have not changed since Jobs’ death: if your machine is under warranty or you have an AppleCare plan, you receive (essentially prepaid) support; if it is out of warranty or no longer covered by an AppleCare plan, you can receive support by paying for it. If you are no longer satisified with Apple’s products and policies, there is nothing stopping you from selling your Apple products and eschewing future purchases from them to demonstrate your dissatisfaction with them.

  • OS X lion dosn't view fonts in character viewer, this is big problem, OS X lion dosn't view fonts in character viewer, this is big problem

character viewer cant' view fonts, so my language have 52 letters all this letters are not listed in character viewer, so i cant pick that letters, and i installed fonts have that letters, that is big mistake of os x lion, then i am using another pc windows7  for that.

What language are you talking about?  You should not need to see fonts in Character Viewer to input any language using the standard Unicode encoding -- input is done via a dedicated keyboard layout.
PopChar is an app that can input characters from individual fonts.  Also you can transplant Character Viewer for Snow Leopard to Lion and run it as an independent app if you want.
