  • Difference between doc date, posting date and invoice date

    hi bw guys
can someone give a brief on the difference between doc date, posting date and invoice date.and the invidual definitions
    thank you

    Hi,
Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.
Document Date: The document date is the date on which the original document was issued. Ex: Inv date, Bill date etc.,
Invoice Date : Usually the date when goods are shipped. Payment dates are set relative to the invoice date.

  • Invoice verification Invoice date,Posting date and Baseline Date

    Hi Sap Gurus
Pls Tell Me in detail what Dates should be entered at MIRO transaction,
Invoice date,Posting date and Baseline Date
i presumed that the date on the Invoice slip will be Invoice date,
But in the Invoice the Date is very long back, say a month Older,
the month of Posting as Posting date, but any posting Date made in MIRO will be Paid after 2 or 3 months so in this case what should be the Posting date.
at Base line date in the present company Senario the Discount on Vendor payment is literally valid for all the time , say
In Invoice if the condition is 10% discount if paid in 30 days is given.
but in actual sense the Vendor is paid 10% less even if he is paid after 4 or 6 months also, so in this case what should be the Entry in Baseline date
another senario is the vendor has sent only one Invoice for 2 POs how can this be accomadated in SAP
    Pls suggest its Urgent,
Age may have a Bar, But Points No Bar
    Thanks and Regards
    Sathish

    Hi
LIV is nothing but You are getting Invoice from the Vendor for your PO   and GR.....and you are checking the Invoice for Price, Qty,Amount etc. by refering the PO  and posting the Invoice...
    Invoice Date :
The date of Vendor' Invoice...ie) Date at which the vendor Raised the invoice for his supply against your PO...
    Posting Date :
The Date at which you actually Verifying Vendor's Invoice and doing the Posting...
    base line date :
        Generally the Posting Date...
The Imp. of Baseline date is for eg)
If in the Payment Terms if some conditions are maintained like say
10% Discount for Payment With in 30 days, if
    PO created on 01.11.2007.
    GR done at 10.11.2007.
Invoice slip Received at 30.11.2007 but having the Date on it as 20.11.2007...
So as per your terms you will get 10% Discount if you make the payment on or  20.12.07....
Here if you keep  inv. Date: 20.11.2007  and Posting Date : 30.11.2007  and Baseline Date as  30.11.2007 ( you cannot maintain baseline date earlier than  Posting date)....even though as per terms the you are  eligible for discount if you make the payment on or before 20.11.2007.....as per the system you are still eligible to get the Discount if you make payment on or 30.12.2007( since you have maintained baseline date as 30.11.2007)...
this way Baseline date is Importane...
Generally we use to maintain always Posting Date as Baseline date....
    It is advantageous..

  • Post park ivoice M8079 'Reversal value greater than value invoiced to date'

I create a Service purchase order number is 8200000747 in our products system, and service entry sheet number is 1000026152, material document number is 5000306476.
When I create a park invoice reference this Service PO, the system can not clear GR/IR account with that service entry sheet(1000026152). When we want to post this park invoice, system generate message M8079 'Reversal value greater than value invoiced to date'. But, this item never been verification invoice , I can find this not cleared  GR/IR data in MR11, this item not a multi account assignment , no foreign currency.
What happened? How can I carry out the correct GR/IR account data in park invoice?

    Hello,
Instead of reversing the invoice try posting the Credit Memo through MIRO .

  • What is GL account, difference bet. Doc.date and posting date, etc.

    Hello Experts,
Currently I am supporting reports/programs for FI module. Can anybody please help
me or give me walkthrough on what are the terms like posting key, document date,
posting date, type, account, etc. I am currently modifying a report which posts in
transaction F-02. Any tips and guides will be highly appreciated. Thanks guys and take care!

    Hi,
<b>GL Account:</b> This field contains the number of the G/L account to which the transaction figures are updated.we use One gl account for Salaries in an Orgn, and for expenses one GL like that.
<b>Document Date</b>: The document date is the date on which the original document was issued.
<b>Posting date:</b>Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling
The fiscal year and the period for which an update of the accounts specified in the document or cost elements is made, are derived from the posting date.
When entering documents, the system checks whether the posting date entered is allowed by means of the posting period permitted.
The posting date can differ from both the entry date (day of entry into the system) and the document date (day of creation of the original document).
<b>Posting Key:</b>The posting key describes the type of transaction which is entered in a line item.
For every posting key, you specify properties which control the entry of the line item or are noted in the line item itself.
The most important properties which are derived from the posting key are:
    The account type
The allocation to the debits or credits side
The possible or necessary specifications which are to be entered in the line item.
<b>DocType:</b>The document type classifies the accounting documents. It is stored in the document header.
Attributes that control the entry of the document, or which are themselves noted in the document, are defined for each document type. In particular, the number range assigned to the associated documents is defined on the basis of the document type.

  • Can we change the doc date in a purchase order ?

can we change the doc date in a purchase order ?
i have created PO with wrong dates but now want to correct it, but its not letting me do it ...why ?

I don't think DOC DATES can be changed. You can only change the posting dates of the Goods receipt and Invoice documents as that is what matter for your financial consolidation.

  • Change AR invoice due date

I have a transaction that  a user accidentally posted with a doc date and due date of 2007.  I don't care about the docdate so much, but I need to update the due date to be 2009.  What table(s) and fields do I need to update in sql to do this?  I need my aging to put this doc into the right aging bucket.

Even if you could change the tables directly, there is no way that you could keep database consistency.  That is much more valuable for a report.  You have to find a way from front end.  It is not true that no way to do it from front.  The invoice can be canceled and reconciliation can by restored.

  • Difference between Document date & Posting date

    Dear Gurus
KIndly clarify me the difference between the document date and posting date in GR(MIGO)
    Thanx
    MK

    HI,
Document date:The document date is the date on which the original document was issued.
Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.
    Example:
There is goods receipt happening on 9th sep, 2008 along with it the invoice also comes dated 8th sep, 2008.
Suppose u post the entry on the same date in ur SAP system the day u recvd the goods, i.e. u credit the vendor on good receipt date, then the document date in this case will be 8th sep, 2008. the posting date will be 9th Sep, 2008.
The entry date is the actual date on which u make entry in SAP the system date. So entry date can be diffrent from posting date in this case

  • A/P invoice and stock posting

    Hi
I have some issues with understanding the following:
I have received some item without having issued a PO for them. For these items, master data exists .
As common practice with a lot of suppliers, there is no Invoice attached to the shipping, only a delivery note.
If I post the items to stock using 'Goods receipt' and use A/P invoice some days after when the invoice arrives, I have doubled the received quantity by posting the items to the stock twice.
What is the solution to have the items posted to stock immediately for further usage and adding the A/P invoice later but without stock posting?
    Thanks
    Franz

    Hi Franz,
When an AP Invoice is based on a Goods Receipt PO there will be no double posting, not for Warehouse quantites or in the accounting.
An AP Invoice that is based on a Goods Receipt PO where nothing was changed between the Goods Receipt and the Invoice the AP Invoice will NOT post to stock. The stock posting was already done on the Goods Receipt.
Most documents can be cancelled, either by basing a reverse documents or by cancelling. For every each one of them the quantities and accounts postings follow the logic of continuous stock.
Goods Receipt PO -> Reversed by a Goods Return
AP Invoice -> Reversed by an AP Credit Note.
Please note that there are NO double entries anywhere when a document is based on another.
    I hope it helps.
    Jesper

  • How to find whether an Invoice is been posted for a particular PO

    Hi,
How to find whether an Invoice is been posted for a particular PO.
I have a scenario where I fetch data into an internal table T_CDHDR(It has PO and other details). For each and every entry(PO) in that internal table I have to see whether an Invoice is been posted or not. They told to use <b>EKBE(Purchasing document history)</b> table. But, I don't know which field to check for and based on what conditions.
Can someone help me with sample code or some valuable inputs.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Paddu.

    HI,
    TABLE IS RIGHT.
IN THAT TABLE FOR THE FIELD BEWTP CHECK WHETHER ENTRY IS "Q".
Q STANDS FOR IR-L THAT MEANS INVOICE IS DONE.
ON THE SELECTION SCREEN OF EKBE TABLE ENTER THE PO NUMBER.
THEN CHECK WHETHER IT HAS ENTRY FOR BEWTP 'Q'.
YOU CAN CROSS-CHECK THIS DATA FROM TABLE WITH THAT IN ACTUAL PO IN T.CODE - ME23N.
ENTER PO NUMBER ,THEN IN ITEM DETAILS , IN HISTORY TAB SEE FOR THAT INVOICE NO.

  • How to inactivate Error Message - 'an invoice as been posted at a later da'

    Hi, Experts,
When posting customer invoices - a mssg comes up and states that an invoice as been posted at a later date.  Would we be able to remove this comment as it is an extra keystroke that we do not need - takes time to address and we always have invoices that we post different dates.
    Thanks!
    Lorrie

    Hi Lorrie,
This warning message is hard coded in the application.  It is a good reminder for most users.  Although you may feel it is unnessesary, quite a few people found it is helpful.
When you delete any files, you always receive warning.  Do you think that is not neccesary even if you know it is right and you have to delete quite a few files?
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • PO creation Date and Invoice creation Date

    Hi,
Can any one help me regarding which table I can look for PO creation date and Invoice creation date. I require these fields for my reporting requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arvind.

    Thanks for your response Bala.
I got the Table which I require. I have one more question on this.
Can you tell me Invoice Creation Date is RBKP-BLDAT(Document Date in Document) or RBKP-BUDAT(Posting Date in the Document) and PO creation Date is EKKO-AEDAT(Date on which the record was created) or EKKO-BEDAT(Document Date in Document).
    Points already rewarded.

  • Invoice List data(VF21/VF22) as IDoc

    Hi,
We have a typical scenario of converting Invoice List data in SAP into IDoc and to transmit it as an XML to the third party system. In the data to be transmitted, sub-totalling at the material (in the invoice items) and material+invoice date level is required and the sub-totals are to be populated in two kind of segments (for each of the sub-total type) in the IDoc.
That is, a new IDoc structure will be defined with the segments/fields that the customer wants viz., a header segment with only few fields from the invoice list header, an item segment with only few fields from the invoice list item, and a sub-total segment with two fields, each to hold sub-total at material and material+date level respectively.
We have output types which, when assigned in the invoice list should create the required Idocs.
Invoice lists will be created for several partners, but each list will have only one partner.
What are the steps to be carried out in order to achieve this objective? Please stress upon the FM parameters to be provided and NACE options to be selected.
    Vish.

    Hello ,
Your requirement is very simple ,However before posting into sdn please do  a proper search on idoc.
Now coming to your requirement as of now you have the invoice data coming up.
    1. In the NACE transaction create an output type related with the respective partner data.
2.Create segments with the required fields and set its status to release.
3.create  Idoc type and message type ..link the message and segents.
4.Now link the message type and idoc type .
    5.
    6. Now assign process code to the partner function by defining a logical system and in the process code
put your custom function module where you put your custom code which will filter and
cumulate the data coming from the invoice into different fields
    using normal abap code,
Now once you are done with the abap coding the
function module has few parameters which you can pass  them as it is .
control_in need to be passed to Control_out as it is.
Now fill the segments with the required data and append the segment data to the
EDI_DATA structure which is a exporting parameter for thefunction module .
Now once you execute the invoice using this partner function and message type
system would internally call the custom function module which you have assigned to
the process code and would create an idoc.
also go through saptechnical-com site for addition details on idoc creation.
