A very annoying problem.

For some strange reason, on my home screen/display just below where it says "Blackberry", it normaly just say's 02.
Since yesterday it still say's 02 but now has UK local area codes after it. i.e 01752, 01579, 01822 etc etc. Any ideas you good Blackberry folk.

Ok, to stop the mad rush to help I have found the solution myself.
For some reason in options/advanced/cell broadcast, cell broadcast was enabled for some reason!! Anyway - I turned it off and this most strange,well, more annoying really, problem dissapeared.

I have a very annoying problem that occurs since 1-2 years. Now I want to get finally rid of this.
I bought the app "AllSport GPS" via BlackBerry App World in 2010. After the uninstallation of this app due to new devices one or two years ago I have the following problem:
On each (!) update of my list in the BlackBerry World app or after the reset and reload of the content of installed app I receive 1-5 (different amount) of mails with the following content:
AllSport GPS license key for your BlackBerry
Thank you for purchasing AllSport GPS from BlackBerry App World. The license key for your device is:

This is VERY annoying! I also informed the publisher of the app (Trimble Outdoors) but they told me to contact BlackBerry. During the last 1-2 years - because I often refresh and look after new updates for my apps (I have many installed on my device) - I received, no fake, hundreds (!) of this annoying mails!
I bought the app with my older 9700 or 9790. In the meantime, on my Bold 9790, the app is not available any longer for this, so it is not shown in my BlackBerry World environment. In this case I could make a new clear installation and deletion of the app. But this is not possible.
It would be great if anybody of BlackBerry is reading this and could reset or delete the resending of this mail.
Are there other other thay also have this problem? Any suggestions?

Actually, this is a user-to-user forum. There are some BlackBerry employees who read these posts, but in most case you are only talking to other BlackBerry users.
So to solve your question, you will need somebody from BlackBerry, as most other users will not really be able to solve the problem. If you contacted BlackBerry Support, I guess the best thing is to wait for their answer. You can try tweeting to @BlackBerryHelp, in some cases they can reply to you faster. Or you can have their attention much faster.
I find it weird myself that you haven't contacted them before, as you say the problem is since a couple of years now.
I am afraid that you will not receive a lot more information on this forum (as this is a rather specific problem in my opinion). Except maybe if one of the BlackBerry employees on this forum notices this post.
I hope your problem is solved soon!

I have Lion and iCloud. There are two very annoying problems. mFirst, in the middle of writing or research the window gets yanked to the right. Sometimes it can be retrieved and sometimes it can't. sec on, in the course of research on Safari, or work

I have recently upgraded to Lion and iCloud. There are two very annoying quirks that i don't know how to fix:
1-When working with word, documents or emails in the middle of a sequence the picture or window suddenly is yanked off the screen to the right. More often than not it can't be retrieved. This happens often
2-In the same mode as in #1 above the print size will suddenly increase maybe by a factor of 3x or 4x. it happens spontaneously.
3-There are many other problems with the upgrade:
-With sequence emails the secondary emails are not printed. When one tries to open those emails it often fails.
-The new address book format is crap. it is very difficult to go from single listings to group listings and back.
It's obviousto me the Apple software designers are not users.
So how can i fix #1 & 2 above.

Microsoft Word? What version and service pack?
Microsoft Office 2011 SP2 includes Word version 14.2.2. Some Office 2011 updates addressed problems with Lion.

Very strange but very annoying problem?

Hey everyone, quick question about something that while not a big deal is very annoying. For some reason even though im the only person who uses this laptop its my brother that os x seems to think is the owner. In other words any scenario where os x has an auto fill or something it always puts my brothers name or email in. Incredibly irritating and ive no idea how to fix it.
There are no other accounts besides my own and ive created a card in the address book for myself and set it as "My Card", that is all i can think to do.
Any help appreciated.

Actually in Safari its fine, its more programs that are the problem. Say iMovie for example it will fill the wrong details automatically into the template because somewhere on this thing it has my brother as the primary user/owner.

Very annoying problem....

im having a very annoying issue with iTunes....
with almost evrery song in my library i try to play i get this message....
"The song "[whatever]" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
then i need to go find the song and all that mess.... not fun. what can i do to fix this? all the songs in my library are stored elsewhere on my computer, so why arent they playing?

Small but very annoying problem

I am running with a GF4 ti 4600 128mb and Windows xp home edition.
My problem is that after I go to color correction and change the contrast/gamma/brightness and click "apply" then activate a game any game the properties go back to the original settings I had before. Which is the hardware default btw.
So how can I keep the brightness up? It's really annoying when you try to play a game and everything is very dark.
My monitor is also up to its full contrast also.

If nothing else works, try changing the refresh rate of your monitor; usually lower refresh rates have a brighter image.
BTW have you tryed to use the on-screen controls of the monitor?

Since upgrading to firefox4.0, my NVIDIA kernel mode driver frequently not responding, turning monitor black, then successfully recovered. The Firefox browser would then crash afterwards. Please help solve this very annoying problem.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded to Win 7, no problems. Then I upgraded to FF 4.0, and I kept getting Nvidia Video Card crashes. I always undo my last computer change/install when something like this happens, so I immediately uninstalled 4.0, and went back to my older version of Firefox. No problems ever since.

Very Annoying Problem Installing i-Tunes Ver 8.02

This rambles... But bear with me...
So I moved from London to some small village in the middle of nowhere. I had broadband before moving and when I got here I found that I COULD NOT GET IT HERE ONLY DIAL-UP. Now I know that some of you are rolling your eyes and coming up with quick fixes to my problem but when I stopped using i-tunes I had version 6 on my PC which has worked fine till now. I received a shiny new touch for Xmas from my son and so I downloaded i-tunes 8 as per the literature and needs of the machine (yes it took 6 hours). Now the problem I have is that when I try to install it, it keeps starting the install then going through the motions before telling me twenty seconds later that its installed version 8.02.
The cunning thing now is that it hasn't so what is going on.....?
I've tried all the tools within Windows and that hasn't worked. I've also tried uninstalling Quicktime and i-Tunes ver 6 but all that has left me with is no i-Tunes.
I've tried some of the kind suggestions already posted to other forums in the vain hope it will work but nothing..... PLEASE HELP

Very annoying problem with parametric EQ

I'm having a problem in AA3 with the parametric EQ that is present on every track strip. I opened up a session to work on, and one of my drum tracks has an EQ curve set. When I try to alter the curve, it pops back into its previous position as soon as I hit play. It won't let me change it for some reason. I've had this happen a number of times with different songs now, and its extremely frustrating. Anyone else have this happen?

No, but you have to bear in mind that any change you make to the EQ has to be written to the automation system in order remain changed. If you put the track automation into write mode, and change any EQ settings at all, the changes all replay perfectly here. So I'd suggest having a look at the track's automation settings initially to resolve your problem.

Very annoying problem reparing permissions on 10.5.2

I recently installed the 10.5.2 update and it has been a disaster. After the installation, my cpu would not start up and hung on a dark blue screen.
I booted from the leopard dvd, ran disk first aid and it showed a handful of problems with the disk permissions (it did not show any other problems.) Disk first aid said it repaired the problems, but it still would not boot. I ran disk first aid again and, again, the same problems were listed.
I tried booting in single-user mode and ran a bunch of the command line things from one of the apple docs. When I tried to reboot, I was finally able to log in as System Administrator, but still could not log in under my normal user name. Every time I try to log in on my normal account, it still goes back to the blue screen (though then goes back to the log in screen.) Using the system administrator account allows me to access all my files but, of course, none of my preferences are set properly, none of my bookmarks, my itunes library, etc., etc.
This seems like something I should be able to fix without having to take the time to restore from my TM back up (plus, not all of my drive is backed up as I have it set not to back up some of my larger media files.)
Any thoughts on what is wrong and how I can fix this? Also, if I do restore using TM, should I avoid the 10.5.2 update afterwards?

Have tried booting in Safe Mode? Hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime, and see if you can then log in to your regular account. If so, there may be some third-party something you have set in your regular account that is not compatible with 10.5.2.

Printing Defaults on SL 10.6.1 Very annoying problem

Hi,
Ever since I have updated my system to Snow Leopard I have had a problem with printing, basically every time I try to print (safari, sticky notes, preview, etc. not ms word though) the page orientation is set to landscape, i have tried setting a new print pre set saving it as different unique name, setting is as default, all failed the page orientation is always changed back to landscape!!!
I have uninstalled the printer (cannon ip2500 connected over airport extreme) and changed the print pre settings, and guess what the bloody thing is still going back to landscape its driving me crazy!!!

Help with Quicktime. (very annoying problem)

I am a newbie to this forum. I searched the forum and couldn't find the answer I was looking for so here is my question. When I try to open either iTunes or the Quicktime player I get a error message that reads "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." (it is one of those 'send error report' messages. Anyone who has windows has probably seen them before) Since it is happening with both Quicktime player and iTunes I can only assume that this is a problem with Quicktime. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times. Every time I try to uninstall Quicktime it tells me "a fatal error has occurred during installation" and never uninstalls. The only way I can uninstall is to just remove all the program files. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I need help.

P.S. Also when I try to just uninstall Quicktime buy hitting the "uninstall quicktime message" it starts to uninstall and then says "The installer encountered errors before the requested operations for quicktime could be completed."

if you are having issues uninstalling quicktime on XP, follow this guide:
Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed in steps 1-7.
Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
Restart your computer.

You may also want to use a registry cleaner to get rid of any quicktime references (or Use Regedit (ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING))

Yahoo Messenger *very annoying* problem

"I am using Version 3.0 beta 1 (build 18274), and I just recently started getting this problem: when I type, all of a sudden the mess window shoots back to the TOP, it happens when I type or anyone else does, and I have to scroll back to the bottom to read it. Its getting really anoying and I tried to delete the APP and start again, NOPE still does it"
This is how someone describes this problem that i have. He got this answer:

either get used to it or un-install safari 3!"
I thought Ok. This might be the problem... because i remembered that the time when i installed safari 3 and my messenger went crazy, kinda coincided.
So i uninstalled Safari. Even deleted ALL the files related to it that i could find. I did the same with ymess and then i reinstalled it.. NO succes at all. NOW im desperate;)
If someone had/has the same problem or knows how to fix it pls feel free and share

If not, backup now, and carefully restore only the documents you need after reinstalling the system.

Very Annoying EXPORT problems

The first time i installed Lightroom, all the things went well, but i don't know why, one day i tried to export a photo and it appeared one of those common errors with "Send Error Report/Don't Send Error Report".
I can't do anything besides the preset export settings. I installed windows again, and the first thing i did besides installing the correct drivers for my pc, was to install Lightroom. I tried all versions of Lightroom, including Lightroom 2 Beta. I don't know why it worked once, and after a while it didn't work. If it never worked i could have said that my pc is a mess, and i need a new one, but why did it work at that time? (i tried to go back with all the installations i made since it worked, but nothing).
I really need help, because it's a very annoying problem.

Have you tried to repair permissions using Disk Utility, and trashed GB's ".plist" and ".cs" files, then restarted the computer?
And about the looping, just do it in GB and avoid all this mess. LOL!

I am experiencing a recurring, very annoying problem with my ipad. When i touch an icon ap and start using it, i am often kicked off it and returned to the icon screen. What is going on and does anyone have the same experience and any solutions? Thanks.

If it's happening on all apps that you've downloaded, but not on the Apple built-in apps, then try downloading any free app as that appears to reset something - you can then re-try your apps, and you can delete the free app.
If it's only happening on one or two apps then try closing them completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with any of the affected apps 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the apps to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
