A weird character becomes another one after saving it with RSKC!

When we load a master data from R3 to BW, get an invalid character error which shows the weird character is kind of like two vertical parallel bars (sorry I am unable to give it here since whenever I submit this question, it will become other characters which could confuse you guys), we run RSKC to input this weird character, when inputting it, it shows as it is, but after saving it, find it becomes ##. And the data load still fails.
Any solution?

don't have anything substantial to add to either the pro or con side of the issue.
However, what I know about Word is that it behaves a bit different and seems to have issues when you’re actively editing document that are stored
on the Desktop. I would speculate that the issue has something to do with the screen driver software.
When you’re editing a document, Word is actually using something like a dozen or more temporary hidden files and some of these are stored in the
same folder as the source document. If the source document’s folder is the Desktop, then there has to be interaction with the screen driver.
This interaction with the screen driver is one variable that makes the Desktop folder unique and possibly problematic and thus Word under certain conditions
makes the file Read Only.

Delete audio after saving presentation "with" audio

After saving a presention with the option to save audio "with" the presentation, I can no longer delete audio from any slide. Is there a way to delete audio in this scenario?

Seth answered about the choice when importing the PPT. You can add a click box to each slide, it will pause the slide at the end of the click box timeline, so be sure to adapt that timeline.
Do you want to add audio in Captivate? You have to know that every PPT-slide will be converted to sort of a video slide in Captivate, which makes synchronizing with audio not that easy.
Adobe Presenter would be easier to use (and be sure, I am a Captivate freak myself, but will rarely use PPT, but directly Captivate)

Thank you a lot for your answer, but my problem was not to replace "..." by "\ldots" after typing it, but how could I replace "..." by "\ldots" while I am typing it, just after I finished to push the last dot.
I have tried to set it up with the abbrev mode, but it seems to work only for words. So for example, if I enter the word such as, say, "arch", then it replace it automatically by "archlinux" after pressing the space key. I won't have to replace the string manually, it does it automatically with the abbreviation mode of Emacs. Here is an example of what I am talking about :

If you don't understand what I am talking about, try Vim, copy "imap <buffer> ... \ldots" in your .vimrc, and Vim will replace all "..." by "\ldots" while typing. I am sure I can do it with Emacs, I just don't know how.

Executing multiple IOS commands one after the other with a delay

Hi -
As part of my monitoring solution, I have scheduled scripts running on my routers to do various tasks, now I am trying to do trace route to about 10 routers from a seed router to track the path of the trace and if it changes i would be alerted.
What I am having difficulty is doing one trace commands from a text file. Example follows:
Trace 10.10.10.1
Trace 10.20.10.1
Trace 10.30.10.1
The command will stop right after the first line, is there a way in IOS to do a “wait” statement between each command to get this going?

Correct, you need 12.3(2)T or higher (for router IOS). Tcl is also available in many other non-router platforms. Yes, you do need to be enabled. for tclsh. For EEM, though, you do not need to be enabled. You can register an EEM policy, then anyone on the box can execute it. EEM is also built around Tcl, so the same code could be added to such a policy. Adobe reader not open the file immediately after saving it with Microsoft Office

I have an older version Adobe Reader 9, and worked fine until today. I did the upgrade to Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06).
I have Window´s Office 2010 on my computer. When I save a document on *pdf file, Adobe starts automatically and open the document (Open file after publishing.) After the upgrade, documents are not open automatically and shows the next message: "There was an error during initialization. An internal error ocurrred." and "There was an error opening this document. Access denied.". But if I try manually, files are open. How do I fix this problem.

I'm having a similar issue. The .pdf files open fine locally, but when I put them up online, they will not open and I get the same error message. If I download and save the files, they show a 1KB file size instead of 168KB.
Drive space is not an issue (looking at over 225GB of free space on the main drive).
In searching on-line, the main cause I am finding is receiving the file via e-mail and a decoding issue. This is not the case with these files as they were created on my machine and uploaded using Filezilla to the server. I'm using Acrobat Pro 7.0 on a windows box running Vista Ultimate.
Any ideas on what would be causing this issue?

Fillable Reader form reverts to blank after saving

My wife received this form when applying for a state job in Oklahoma - http://www.ok.gov/health2/documents/opm-4.pdf. She completed the form then saved it. When we reopen it the data appears for an instant then disappears. You can also see the old data by clicking File > Revert but the data still shows up for just an instant and it goes right back to a blank form.
For reference I am using Reader 11.03, Windows 7. I have also tried this in the Nitro Reader 3 and get the same result. I am not opening the document in a browser.
I contact the person that sent this form to us and she reports that she hears the complaint frequently.
Any idea how I stop the form from hiding the data upon reopening?

I downloaded the form from your link, and the same thing happened to me. Stranger, even, the original form was 816KB; after saving it with data, it was only 104KB.
Something is definitely wrong with that form, but I couldn't tell you what.
I would just send them the filled-in form; maybe the people who created it can read the data in it?

It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document" and then in paretheses the name of the document. After I click okay another trys to open. Any suggestions?

If you had multiple documents open and quit the app without closing all of the docs first, it will open them again when you launch the app. Open Word, and then close all the documents, you may be asked to save the document, if the document was already saved but you made changes to it before you quit the app, you may need to save the changes first, shorcut ( command and s keys). After you close all of the documents then quit the app and restart the computer. See if this works.

I had all of my video files that I work on in iMovie saved to an external hard drive exclusively to save space on my Macbook. I had just finalized a project, went to work on another one and files couldn't be found, were not deleted how do I find them?

I did not drag anything on the hard drive to the trash or move anything. How can I get those files? These are videos of my kids and I am devastated and willing to try anything!

Control click does not work - no option to find files. I have no idea what to do. When I look at the usage of the external drive the space is being used, but I cannot find the files. I am going to try MacKeeper's Undelete and see if I can make any progress with it.

IChat AV: Problems one after another

Hi, I had posted in one of the other threads but know that I am not supposed to hijack, so I hope you'll bear with me if I start another one.
I have been trying to set up an iChat with my brother so that my kids can talk to his kids (and so that the cousins can see each other while doing this, of course). Neither of us has done this before, but we're both reasonably proficient around our Macs, or so we thought, so we didn't expect it to be difficult. (And eventually we want to set our folks up so our kids can all talk to them as well.)
When we tried a couple of days ago, however, we got the dreaded Error -8. Now, after my having fiddled with portforwarding, we are getting an "insufficient bandwith" message. I don't know if this is a step forward or a step back, but we are tremendously frustrated.
As I said, I started setting up PortForwarding for my router, which is a Dlink DI524. The page is at http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DI-524/
I was able to do so for the first eight ports (5060, 5190, 5220, 5222, 5297, 5298, 5353, 5678). [I think I did it right, although I was not able to set up the static IP like portforward.com says to do, because when I try to enter a manual IP, I seem to lose all internet connection, no matter what I do.]
I was not, however, able to do this for the 20 port range 16384-16403: the Dlink DI524 control screen only lets you do one port at a time in the Advanced --> Virtual Server menu where portforward directs you, and because of the typo, portforward.com doesn't say what to do with the ports 16384-16403. And I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the insufficient bandwith message.
There is a way to enter a range of ports under the Advanced --> Applications menu of the dlink setup, but I would need to enter a "trigger" port to do this. Any ideas what this might be?
In any case, we both have iChat --> preferences --> video --> bandwith limit set to "none." We went to the system preferences --> quicktime --> streaming menu and tried first "Automatic" and then "1.5 Mbps" each (quitting iChat in between each time).
Here is our current error message (with addresses ***ed out), and any help, assistance, etc., would be tremendously appreciated. Sorry for the length, but I don't know which part of it is relevant, since it's all indecipherable to me. For now, we're using SightSpeed, which works well, but the picture is not great when you go to full screen, and as I understand it iChat, if we can get the **** thing to work, will be sufficiently better.

In this one we are talking about Internation Standards and who sticks to them.
Apple has decided that iChat fits the profile of an VoIP application and therfore needs to use the International Stand for making the connection using SIP.
The standard for SIP says this has to be on port 5060 (In fact 4 ports - 5060-5063)
Now technically to be VoIP you also have to be able to contact POTS (Plain Old Telphones Systems) numbers but Apple have never done this despite setting up their own SIP server (SNATMAP)
Now take Skype for instance - this is a combo Video IM and VoiP app but DOes Not stick to the SIP protocols (At least not for the Video or Audio IM side).
Consequently it does not use the ports 5060-5063.
What this does is allow it to use ports below 1024 (Above which you have to use UPnP or NAT + an opening method).
This means you can set up your network really badly (ignorantly even) and these apps will work.
SightSpeed is just a Video IM app and is not VoIP/SIP so the above does not apply until you get to the working port bits.
I hope this adds to your knowledge and is clear enough in these terms.
By this point you should be able to create a stable network with only one DHCP server if needed and able to set the modem up for any app including allowing your Children on line with the 1000+ ports that Rainbow Six: Vegas needs for the X-Box 360 game on-line (this is the biggest I have come across)

No. If you had configured Find My Phone in icloud.com, then you can lock it or erase it, but you cannot recover data from it.
There probably are third-party utilities that might be able to extract data from the backup file itself. Look for them at MacUpdate.

Processing JMS messages in sequence one after another

This is my use case which I wan to implement in OSB.
1. I have a queue which will receive messages in huge numbers from a single sender.
2. I have a proxy which will read each message and process the message and send it out.
In step 1 , I want each message to be read sequentially and when step 2 finishes executing then I want to read the next message from the queue.
I need to give an acknowledgment to JMS that the message has finished processing and it can make the next message available to the proxy.
What is the best option to implement this use case ?.

By default Weblogic JMS Queues are FIFO. But that is true only if there is only one consumer of the queue.
In case of a clustered environment that is not true and in case of OSB even with a single managed server multiple threads are created for a JMS listener Proxy(by default 16). So there will be 16 instances of the Proxy trying to read messages from the Queue and each will be handed out a message and sequential integrity is disturbed.
There are three ways to overcome this problem:
1. Unit of Order
This is suitable only when you want messages of the same group to be processed sequentially while multiple groups can be processed in parallel.
For e.x. you are getting multiple orders for multiple customers and you want to ensure that the orders of same customer are processed sequentially (in case a customer tries to change the quantity of an order then the latest one should be processed last). In this case you can set UOO as the CustomerID and each customer's order will be processed sequentially but orders of different customers will be still processed in parallel. WLS JMS achieves this by assigning a target queue instance on the cluster for each UOO value. It will assign Q!MS1 to CustID=1, Q!MS2 to CustID=2 and so on. All messages of the same UOO(of the same customer) will go to the same instance on the queue. Furthermore it will ensure that no two messages of the same UOO are released together to the listeners. So if a queue instance has 5 messages each of both Cust=1 and Cust=2, only one message each of Cust1 and Cust2 will be processed by the listeners even if there are 16 listening threads.
Pros and Cons:
Overall performance is improved since you can still achieve some parallel processing.
There will be a slight overhead of processing the UOO headers on the JMS servers.
Can not ensure sequencing of all the messages. (Although you can achieve that by setting the same UOO on all the messages)
If the managed server assigned to a UOO is down, if a publisher tried to put the next message for that UOO, it will fail since it will not try to send that message to any other managed server.
2. Single threaded processing
If you don't want to process even different groups of messages in parallel and if you want absolute sequencing (i.e. irrespective of the CustomerID you want all the messages to be processed in the sequence they arrive) you will need to process them in a single threaded model. The JMS queue should be deployed on only one managed server of the cluster. The JMS proxy listening to the queue should also be deployed on a single managed server(You will need to change the targeting for the EJB created for this Proxy in the Deployments) and there should be a Work Manager for this Proxy with Maximum Thread Constraint set as 1. In the Connection Factory which the Proxy uses, set the Maximum Messages per session to 1. Another approach for Single threaded could be to set the same value of UOO on all of the messages. This will make all the messages to go to the same Q instance in the cluster and also will make sure that even if Proxy has multiple threads, only one message will be processed at a time.
Pros and Cons:
Completely single threaded processing, will take more time since messages will be processed one after the other.
Load balancing will go awry as all the messages will be processed by only one server.
3. Using custom implementation
The most complex way is to create a completely custom implementation. Put all the messages in a DB and then process them one at a time based on timestamp.
Pros and Cons:
It will take more effort to implement than the other two approaches.
It will again need single threaded processing after the messages are put on the DB
Performance wise there will be more impact because of additional DB calls
More complex to maintain
Based on your exact requirements you can choose which approach you want. If you have SOA suite as well them it would be better to move this solution to SOA suite as OESB(Mediator) component of SOA suite has re-sequencing feature.

Displaying images in canvas one after another

Hi all,
I have a problem displaying images in canvas one after another. I am using for loop and when i run the application, all images run back in the and only finally only the last image gets displayed in the emulator. I also used thread.sleep(). But it din't work.
Here is my code:
