Ability to change format when transferring to pla

Has the ability to change the format of files as they are transferred to the player been requested?
I transfer a large number of audio books to my player. I'd like to keep the original ripped files on my PC in a high quality format, but convert them to a much smaller format when transferring.

Not specifically, but it could happen.
Is there a good place for making such suggestions? I have a few suggestions, mostly about keyboard navigation.
There's no specific place, but I have a public wishlist page here. Other than that, email your suggestion to support, but unless there's a huge number of people wanting it it's unlikely it will be changed specifically for that reason.

I have Word 2011 on Mac 10.6.8. I write my papers and save them as .docx I submit them to my school online but every time My professor opens them he says the margins are set wrong. He said to save them as a Word-Pc format. How do I do this? Do I save it as RTF or as PDF? He has to be able to make comments on the paper after along the right side. I can not ask him to download anything t make it easier for me. I should be the one doing it correctly. I just do not know how. Can you please tell me how I should be saving my papers so that they do not change format when he opens them on his PC?
And I do recheck and open and repen my paper to check and recheck my margins before I submit it and all is fine on my end.

I've been reading thru the discussions and yet to find a clear answer on how to transfer files from my external HD to time capsule.
If it is directly connected to your Mac via USB or FireWire, Time Machine will include it in the backup.

Date Dimension changes format when in dashboard prompt

I have created a report in OBIEE 10g wherein a dimension is DATE. It displays as MM-DD-YYYY. I also created a dashboard prompt using this dimension.
However, when I select a value from the prompt in the dashboard, it says that:
"A date value was expected (received "2007-01-05 00:00:00")"
I hope you can help me with this problem.

Hi,
In the physical layer, go to the properties of the field(Your Date dimension column) and change it's type from Timestamp into Date. Hope this will solve your issue.

Where are you seeing this odd behavior? Are you using ExportPDF to convert PDF to Word format? When you convert a file, your original is maintained (wherever it was when you converted it). But the converted file is uploaded to your online account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. So, if you're converting files you should have both the original on your computer, and the converted file in your online account.
Please let us know if that isn't the case.

How to change format when wrong export

I think i have first given the wrong edit format-setting by importing clips in th timeline. It looked nomal so i did't notice that.
I imported a DV 16:9 movie.
After export the summery gave 768 x 576. That looks normal to me. (DV)
but in de inspector: 982 x 540 NTSC!
I don't understand that; NTSC and not PAL (in wich i always work, Europe) and the other figures.
The mean question now is:
how and were to change settings in fcpX that the export to .mov is 16:9 and PAL version?Or: w(I can't find nothing to do so.)
What other can i do (exept editting it all over again...)

Thanks! I chose file/ project properties and than something happend but i could nothing change to it. But after a while: in the inspector indeed: PAL and 720 x 576 DV.
Then by share/export: 768 x 576.
I hope it will be o.k. now, it is making a .mov file now.
But how can this change has happened because i did 'nt. And why do you not see that in time?
Any idea?

Why am MP's changing greatly when transferring files from iPhoto

I recently purchased Aperture and transferred about half of my iPhoto files over to Aperture.
(1)
I noticed that all my TIFF photos that I did years ago with a Nikon Film and slide scanner are being greatly reduced in file size and converted to jpeg.
The average file for the TIFF's is 4.0 MP and they are being reduce to 0.5 MP in Aperture.
(2)
My jpeg's that I took with a digital camera are being increased in size.
I have not checked every one, I did a sample of about 20-25 pictures.
I did a lot of a PP with the files using PSE in the past, I cannot say for sure each and every one of the 25, but probably most of them.
Do I need to change some import setting ?
Please understand that I am not a great computer person so please be patient if I am not perfectly clear.
I can hopefully answer any follow up questions.

Bug? HTMLDB changing formats when no_translate setting!

This question relates to version 1.6.1.00.02
I have my database,apache and DAD set to NLS_DATE_FORMAT='MM/DD/YYYY'
for the DAD, It is done this way...
dad calls this procedure for each connect (via "PlsqlBeforeProcedure" in dads.conf):

BEGIN
DBMS_SESSION.SET_NLS('NLS_DATE_FORMAT','"MM/DD/YYYY"');
END;
It works and is verified if I call a procedure outside of htmldb via the URL method that just does
begin
htp.p(sysdate);
end;
it prints it in the MM/DD/YYYY format
however inside HTMLDB, the same print: htp.p(sysdate); in a pl/sql area prints in the DD-MON-YY format.
If I change my application attribute called:
"Application Language Derived From"
from "NO_NLS APPLICATION NOT TRANSLATED" to "USE_APPLICATION_PRIMARY_LAUNGAGUE"
Then I get the date inside HTMLDB returned in the MM/DD/YYYY format
However, the first setting is telling it to "not translate" yet evidently HTLMDB is translating.
What gives? Is this a bug or a misunderstanding.

In addition to the bug question (my primary question), my goal is for everything to default to MM/DD/YYYY. I have many apps, can I set MM/DD/YYYY in one place for all of HTMLDB apps (including PL/SQL areas)...or is some other method I am not following an option.

This is not a bug.
By default, modplsql pools database connections. Every page view in HTML DB uses one of these connections, does its stuff, and then the connection is returned to the pool.
HTML DB sets the NLS settings (language and territory) for every page view and submission. If it did not, then your page view would "inherit" the NLS settings from some other user's previous page view.
If your Application Language Derived From is set to "No NLS (Application not translated)", that means that HTML DB will do no processing to derive your application langauge and territory settings. But this doesn't remove the fact that you could still inherit some other user's NLS settings, so we must reset it to something. That "something" is the NLS language and territory of the database.
The language setting of HTML DB determines how the NLS_LANGUAGE and NLS_TERRITORY will be set for a particular page view. But for all page views in HTML DB, NLS_LANGUAGE and NLS_TERRITORY must be explicitly set to something.
For evidence of the previous bug in HTML DB where we did not properly reset these NLS settings, check out the first few comments at:

So you have at least four choices:
1) Change the database settings. Via SQL*Plus, you can issue "show parameters nls" to see everything you can set.
or
2) In HTML DB, set your application primary language to some language which has territory settings corresponding to NLS_DATE_FORMAT of MM/DD/YYYY.
or
3) Add an application level before header process which performs your DBMS_SESSION.SET_NLS procedure
or
4) Add an application level substitution string, let's say called DATE_FORMAT with a value of MM/DD/YYYY, then any place you display dates (in reports, as items), set the format mask to &DATE_FORMAT. (including the trailing period).

Completed QT movie changes format when imported into iDVD and DVD Studio

I made a few movies and I simply want them on a DVD. I convert them into QT movies and everything looks great. I filmed both movie using my Canon Vixia M30 in 60i and maximum quality. When I move the files into iDVD, it squishes the actual movie into 4:3 even though the original QT movie is 16:9 and iDVD is set up for 16:9 and the quality is horrible. I check the "Project Info" and my 3.1GB file has shrunk down to a 376MB file. I tried to put the file into DVD Studio and the same thing happened.This has happened with the last two movies I made. I'm really getting frustrated. What am I doing wrong? Help!!

A DVD uses the highly compressed MPEG2 codec. So it is impossible to have it look exactly the same.
Nothing you can do about that, the DVD video specification is strictly set out.
First of all, export from FCP. Self contained with Current Settings (same as the Timeline).
Bring that file into Compressor and apply one of the time based DVD presets that the running time of your video fits into -for example: *DVD 90 mins Best Quality 16:9*. Import the resulting MPEG2 and AC3 files into DVD Studio Pro. You must also tell DVD SP that your film is 16:9.

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

Change pointers. Change pointers are R/3 objects that mark changes to SAP master data. Change pointers are managed by mechanisms in a Shared Master Data (SMD) tool and are based on Change Document (CD) objects. CD objects record the changes occurring to master data at a field level. These changes are stored in tables CDHDR (header table) and CDPOS (detail table). ALE configuration provides a link between CD objects and change pointers. Internal mechanisms update tables BDCP and BDCPS, which host the change pointers. While CD objects are application-data-specific, the processing status of change pointers is message-type-specific. Also, the ALE change pointers are activated first at a general level and then at the message-type level.

Changing the Bitrate when transfering to iPod

Is it possible to change the bitrate of a mp3 file when transfering files between itunes and my ipod? I have a lot of mp3 files encoded at 256 kbps but because I have so many of them I want to transfer them at 128 kbps. I know you can convert it to AAC and make a second file, but is there a way to not have to make another file in order to transfer it but that it will do it automatically and put at 128 kbps on the ipod and leave the 256 kbps on my HD?

Welcome to discussions, Craig! There is no way for iPod to make an "on the fly" change. I'm sorry but you will have to make the change in bitrate in iTunes first, then transfer the lower bitrate songs to iPod. You will have duplicates but the duplicates can be separated from each other by use of a smart playlist, I believe.

Lose of formatting when changing pages

I started using the new forum. There are quite a few changes and it will take me some time to learn to use it again. So far I think it looks like it may be an improvement.
One thing I have been noticing is the lose of formatting when I change pages. Usually if I reload the page a second time the formatting returns. Is this a problem for me only or is it possibly something to do with new forum?

I scan book by scanner in Photoshop and afterward i insert scanned pictures in MS word doc and then i use Acrobat Pro 9 for making PDF.
I downloaded some Ebook that was created in PDF.
There is a likeness between my PDF and those PDFs:
Both made by scanned pictures of paper books. their stracture only made by bitmap images.
There is a diffrent between my PDF and those PDFs:
When in prefrences -> (accessibility --->Document colors Option): i changed background color:
1) in my ebook background of scanned images will not be changed and stay in white color!
2) in those ebooks background of scanned images will be changed to choosed color!
