About SAPCAR

Hi guys ,
Iam working on SAP 4.6C, Oracle 9.2.0.5, Windows 2003 server.
I want to do a Kernel Upgrade to my system as it hasnt been done since long time. Our SAP Kernel Release 46D with Support Package Level 1674.
But i heard that before performing the Kernel Upgrade i need to have the latest SAPCAR.exe. I have searched the Marketplace and found this version SAPCAR_4-20000900.exe.
When i checked my SAPCAR version it is showing SAPCAR 2.0. I Have checked the version through SAPCAR -V in RUN command.
So if am correct till now then please anyone let me know how to update my SAPCAR version first please let me list the details steps to do this.

Yeah i think you are right, but before doing it back up the exe directory first.It will help you when you face any problem in the future.If you operating system is 32 bit on intel then its is right.

Hai,
Be sure that the SAPCAR belongs to WINDOWS, then try renaming the SAPCAR as SAPCAR.exe and then try the command with
SAPCAR.exe -cvf xxxxx
If you are not sure about SAPCAR you have you can download SAPCAR from Service market place.

Let's make thinks easier... (SAPCAR download)

Downloaded NWD studio for 6.40 which was already a longwaiting story with 1000 MB with 2kb /sec but anyhow managed to get things onboard in SAR format.
I used the download centre and searched for SAPCAR.exe with results as showed below:

I can confirm that for a server running Windows XP (32-bit), the correct SAPCAR file to use is the latest veresion from under 'Windows Server on IA32 32bit'. Note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/892842">892842</a> has information about the SAPCAR 7.00 version being downwards compatible and note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/212876">212876</a> contains general information.

Bw installation error about "checksum error"

Hi.I want to install the bw3.1 for oracle in windows 2003 .But in the process of the installation some error raised like this:

Unpack SAPCAR - z/Os

am trying to configure Standalone Database on DB2 server (z/OS) and I downloaded the ccmagent from the following path:
SAP Support Packages and Patches
 Entry by Application Group
 SAP NetWeaver
 SAP NetWeaver
 SAP NetWeaver 04
 Entry by Component
 Application Server ABAP
 SAP KERNEL 6.40 32-BIT
 z/OS 32bit
 Database independent
When I try to unpack the ccmagent an error is generated:
./SAPCAR FSUM7329 <(COMMAND) AND > (COMMAND) not implemented
does anyone know about that?

.PAT is "Patch". It´s ususally put in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in and installed/updated using SPAM or SAINT.
since you didn´t tell anything about where you got it from and what you intend to do with it we can´t help.

SAPinst using root dir whec sapcar extracting files - hp-ux

I've been doing lots of hp.ux+oracle installations, but I'm facing a new problem. Im running sapinst and using and x-server for it.
The thing is that i'm receiving this error in step 4 of installation:
SAPCAR: error writing to /usr/sap/DEV/SYS/exe/run/ssfrfc (error 4). No space left on device). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to /tmp/sapinst_instdir/ERPEhP4/AS-ABAP/ORA/CENTRAL/.

The thing is that /usr is not filled, the extract it's been doing on / (root), and running the installation as root.

I added an screenshot with file systems sizes, as you can see there, root is full because sted 4 unpack sap archives is been doing on root dir

How to use the command SAPCAR in AS400

Hi Gurus,
I try to install LSMW 1.8 in my AS400 server but the manul of instalation talk about command CAR for descompress the file .CAR , but in AS400 I haven't this command. The command in AS400 is SAPCAR but what parameter I need to descompress the file LSMW180.CAR ??????

I would say, you should then run it on windows ... this is the same, but works perhaps easier for you ...

sapcar '-xvf LSMW180.CAR'
Windows:
sapcar -xvf LSMW180.CAR
... easy, isn't it ?

URGENT : SAPCAR files in SAP note !

How the SAP notes containing these files can be implemented ?

SAPCAR files are nothing but External Transport Request which consists of CO/DATA files.
ask ur basis person to import there files into ur servers.
They can do it.
these files u have to Add to ur TP Buffers , which u cannt do it in Front end STMS.

Questions about Oracle client upgrade

Hello,
I have to upgrade my Oracle Client (to 9.2.0.8) on an HPUX server, in order to migrate the database to 10G in a later stage.
I read the note 1017418, but I did not understand it well ...
It's the case of a central instance and I understand that I have to perform the step 6, but there is no usage of command SAPCAR ! just several checks !
and what about the sentence "If at a later stage the database server would be upgraded to Oracle 10.x, you would need to install the Oracle 9.2 client as described in step 5 above." ?
Have I to perform this step 5 right now ? and only this step ?
I hope that somebody in the world already made this operation successfully ...

I'll try to explain:
The note mentions on the step 6:
 6. For application servers with database instance (DB Server), if the
database server is Oracle 9.2 please do the following:
On this situation you do not install physically the oracle client.
You already have the RDBS software installed ( lets say it is 9.2.0.8 as you are talking about installing oracle client 9.2.0.8 )
On the RDBMS software is already included the oracle client.
For this reason, insted of installing physically the client you have softlinks from the directories where the SAP kernel is looking for the client to the RDBMS software.

But, the oracle client delivered by SAP contains some bugfixes, therefore you have to check that also those bugfixes are installed on the database. That is point e
Point f only tells you that is valid while you have the 9.2.0.8 software installed on the server. If you upgrade to 10g, probably you will uninstall the oracle 9i software ( about 2 Gb to be freed ) in that case you must install physically the oracle 9.2.0.8 client

Sapcar -cvf & sapcar -xvf

HI All,
1.Can some one please explain what is the diff between sapcar -cvf and sapcar -xvf. It would be better if you can explain the usage with an examle.
2.While installing the oracle, is there any special with sapdata4 directory, I was going through one installation document and there I found some thing special with the sapdata4 directory such that all the extracted files go to this ...

Not really portal related, but I'll give it a try!
sapcar -xvf extracts files from a .SAR file. sapcar -cvf creates a .SAR file. These are SAP's compressed files. sapcar |help will show you other commands.
You should probably ask in one of the other forums about Oracle installation.

Adobe Bridge in Photoshop - How to install Bridge and camera raw? And what is it all about?

Hi everyone! I am actually in love with this adobe photoshop. I used PSCS2 before, but later on upgraded to CS4. But I feel tired in upgrading to CS5.
One time, I found a tutorial in youtube about camera raw, and would really want to use it. But I was wondering how to install the camera raw. I believe camera raw is a plugin? so I downloaded the plugin here, installed it in my PS. I downloaded a file Camera Raw.8bi and paste it on my C drive - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\File Formats.
I now am very confused, how will I open it? I do not have adobe bridge! After I installed the camera raw, I opened my PS. I clicked the file>then browse in bridge. I had an error, it's "error 2 photoshop11 undefined". Which is what I thought, I might have done something wrong with installing it.
My question is, do you still need adobe bridge installed in order to use camera raw?
If yes, how does it work? How am I suppose to open camera raw?
If no, how am I going to open camera raw without bridge?
And also, where will I download adobe bridge? I cannot find one here for CS4, only adobe bridge for CS5. I am wondering, is it okay to install adobe bridge CS5 and use it with my PS CS4?

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to HTTP/1.1.
The main difference from FTP as far as I can see is that it allows you to edit documents on a remote web server.

You need to talk with the tax authorities in the countries to which you traveled and that of your home country. We are all end-users liek you and not Apple agents.

I am trying to use itunes, it will not open at all, have uninstalled and downloaded new software and 64bit for windows. i have an old ipod nano from about 5 years ago. anything i can do, even to view my purchases and watch/listen to music etc?

ok i have a advent roma laptop with window 7. my itunes used to work fine, completely. every time i plugged in my ipod it was ok. recently my ipod was not working so i never bothered with itunes, however i have movies/tv prog that i purchased and would like to view them. i have an ipod nano from about 5 years ago, the problem with thet is, it switches on, but the circular control panel does nothing, all you can do is lock and unlock it - nothing else.
i tried to download new version of itunes, then uninstalled my origonal version, incase it was corrupted etc, i then again tried to down load new version and also version that is windows 64bit. still when i select the downlaod to open as son as it is finnished nothing happens. and now my desktop shortcut has dissapeared. before when it was there, id double click it, nothing, right click to open it, nothing.
im not the best technically minded but i just dont see what im doing wrong here, please help

I need to know these information about an ASSET:
Purchased orders,
Items from purchase orders,
which of these items i've received, i've paid (also date), i've not paid ( amount of debt related to asset)
payments in advanced (date),
wich of these payments have been cleared (clearing date) and wich not,
who is the vendor,
other expenses (such as delivery)
the amount of taxes,
invoices related and NOT RELATED TO purchase order
payments without invoice
Which transactions do i need to follow?
or
Which document flow?
or
Which tables? Wich keys?
or
Is there a standard report that can give me such information?
Any documentation and/or code will be appreciated.
I need to program a report to integrate all these information.
