Access CDF MetaData from Region Template

How can I access the MetaData of a CDF from the Region Template?
I have read that I can use DOC_INFO, but this does not seem to work. I tried:
DOC_INFO.dDocAccount and got nothing.
I tried:
executeService("DOC_INFO")
DOC_INFO.dDocAccount
Thank you in advance for any help.

If you're looking for the CDF that's assigned to the region template, use:
<!--$#active.[metadata field name]-->
For example, <!--$#active.xDescription-->
If you're trying to get from a different CDF, use:
<!--$dDocName="[Content ID]"-->
<!--$executeService("DOC_INFO_BY_NAME")-->
<!--$#active.[metadata field name]-->
For example,
<!--$dDocName="CONTENT123456"-->
<!--$executeService("DOC_INFO_BY_NAME")-->
<!--$#active.xDescription-->

  • Access custom metadata from another plugin

    I was wondering if it would be possible to access the custom metadata from one plugin from another plugin.
    I know you use the _PLUGIN object when you read or write the metadata with a plugin.Is there any way to pass the varible to another plugin, maybe stored in a xml or text file in the modules folder? I also see where you can use the "unique identifying string" or plugin.id. Is this id differant for every installation of Lightroom?

    Allen, I'm pretty sure the answer is no - you can't access another plug-in's custom fields.
    I'm sure I have read this limitation somewhere - even if I can't now see it stated explicitly in the documentation. If anything, the docs imply getPropertyForPlugin can do so by specifying the LrToolkitIdentifier value (which you may be able to pass as a preference). So this doesn't work:
         getData = photo:getPropertyForPlugin("uk.co.beardsworth.missing", jbMissing )
    It is an important point though that one plug-in should be able to access another's custom fields. Obviously one can think of many ordinary circumstances where it would be handy, but I'm more worried about the longer term DAM viability of custom metadata. Let's say I decided to release a plug-in based around custom fields and users entered metadata which had some value to them - whether that's just input time or business data (eg client or agency account number). Now move on to LR3 and the plug-in no longer works - I've disappeared, driven mad by SDK changes, or you're unwilling to pay my extortionate plug-in upgrade fee.
    Now what happens to that valuable metadata? The data is still in the database but you can't read it because the original plug-in's unavailable, and Adobe's built-in "All" Plugin Metadata panel only shows data from enabled plug-ins. It's not in the XMP either. You're stuffed - unless you're resourceful enough to reverse engineer chunks of the plug-in. Assuming that I encrypted my plug-in's code, that means you're going to have to dig around the SQL to figure out my plug-in's ID and its field names. Only then can you create a plug-in to rescue your custom data. And you've got to hope to hell that my plug-in didn't encrypt or obscure the values you entered.
    For me what this shows is
    1) You're taking a big risk if you store valuable custom metadata - if you can't sort it out yourself, should you do it?
    2) You should ensure any plug-in with custom metadata stores its field definitions in unencrypted files
    3) The All Plug-in Metadata panel needs to show all plug-in metadata
    4) The SDK should allow you to get custom metadata from other plug-ins
    4) Custom fields should be mapped to XMP
    Short answer - No.

  • Access FLV metadata from Spark VideoPlayer

    Is there any way to access FLV metada in Spark VideoPlayer? There was metadataReceived event in past. But now there is no any event for metadata.
    Thank you

    I don't know PHP, but if PH can introspect the file and send
    that data to Flash in an XML format, then yes, you can do what you
    are asking. The key is PHP getting the data and then formatting it
    so that Flash can consume it.
    good luck!

  • Accessing MetaData from Bex - Document Links?

    Hello experts,
    This is a two part question.
    We are interested in BW's ability to provide metadata access to report users.  We are familiar with the Metadata Repository in the Admin Workbench but this will not be accessible to the majority or report users.
    Issue 1:  Is there a way to access BW metadata from the Bex report?  If not what possible workarounds can you suggest?
    One workaround that was suggested was to create a document link within the Bex report to access our own technical specifications.
    Issue 2:  Is it possible to create a document link for a Bex report?  If so how?  Is there more flexibility to access metadata via Web Reporting?
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Adam

    Elaborating on point 2 -
    You can attach a document to the BEx query. This can be done in properties section of the query. You can also attach documents per characteristic in AWB. Whichever of the above suits your requirements.
    I am not sure what exactly you mean by "...more flexibility to access metadata via Web Reporting?". It is possible for documents to be available over an HTTP content server.
    Anil.

  • MetaData from FLV - AS3

    I am having trouble accessing the metadata from an flv on FMS 2.0. My script is ignoring my onMetaData function ever since I switched from a local FLV (which worked fine) to accessing the FLV using RTMP. This makes me think that I need to do something different with remote videos. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ian

    Thanks for the tip, but this article discusses Excel-ODBC connection and my issue is with MS Access.
    My next try was to upgrade my database to 11.1.0.7 and now I'm getting a more detailed message when clicking on the "table" node in the import metadata wizard:
    <ol><li>MS Office Database Module doesn't find the table 'ALL_SNAPSHOTS'</li>
    <li>ORA-28506: parse error in data dictionary translation for an internal reference stored in sys.hs_all_dd</li>
    <li>ORA-28559: FDS_CLASS_NAME is ODBC11.1.0.7.0_0006, FDS_INST_NAME is dg4odbc</li>
    </ol>
    Very strange ! Why does OWB ask a ODBC source.for ALL_SNAPSHOT. But even when selecting manually ALL_TABLES I'm getting an error. Btw, the ALL_SNAPSHOTS entry in HS_ALL_DD is empty.
    So, I would like to get a statement if it's possible to read Access metadata at all. I found several examples with Excel in the Internet, but no mention of MS Access.
    It's quite urgent because I have to demonstrate OWB to a customer on coming Friday and one of his sources is a MS Access database.
    And I don't like to promise features which I can't deliver !!
    Please help and regards

  • How to remove Editable region from nested template?

    I'm trying to remove an editable region from a nested
    template while retaining it in the parent template. DW doesn't want
    to let me do this.
    Example:
    - I've created an overall template call ALLPAGES.DWT
    - In it, there's an editable region called "related links".
    - The "related links" will stay the same for all my main
    pages (welcome, news, info, etc), so I'd like to create a nested
    template called MAINPAGES.DWT where the field is locked.
    So here's what I did; I started a new page from ALLPAGES.DWT
    and then I created a template MAINPAGES.DWT from it. Now I want to
    remove the editable region "related links". According to the DW
    manual, I should be able to highlight the region and go to
    Modify > Templates > Remove Template Markup, but that
    option is greyed out!
    Apparenlty the only way of removing the editable region is to
    create a smaller editable region within it. But that's unnecessary
    and sloppy. How can I remove the region entirely?

    simple and

    I really disagree with this.

    I spent quite a bit of time using them, tweaking them,
    understanding them,
    and watching the problems that others have had here on the
    forum. My
    compelling conclusion is that there is nothing you can do
    with nested
    templates that you cannot do more simply and with far less
    trouble by using
    other methods, some involving other kinds of template
    regions, and some
    involving simple use of Library items, or better, server-side
    includes.

    This is not only unkind, it's completely erroneous. Far and
    away, I am the
    single most enthusiastic proponent for the use of templates
    on these boards.
    Perhaps a read of my book would help you rid yourself of your
    attitude, too.

  • How to insert a widget in a editable region from a template

    Hi there,
    ok so basically I am trying to create a HTML page from a template i have already designed.
    when I try to insert a widget (Lightbox Gallery) in the editable region I get the following error.
    "the widget requires code that must be inserted into the head of the document. insertion cannot happen because this document is read only"
    I saw a previous thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/901299) that had the same problem with a solution but cant seem to make sense of it.
    Not exactly sure where and what to paste in the header of the HTML page.
    Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Murray,
    ha funny you would say that is the exact answer you would give me seeing you posted it
    I understand the logic behind it though not sure what i need to copy and where.
    Basically i craeted a "dummy page" and inserted the widget-no problem there.
    next step- what code do i copy from the dummy page and where do i paste it? in the template or HTML page.
    Dummy HTML with widget code

  • Can't create Project from the Template or access project template

    Dear Experts,
    We are facing a issue while trying to access the project template/create the project from project template.
    we have 4 project template in place and of these two are working perfectly fine but
    From remaining two we are not being able to create project and even templates are not accesible , whenever we are trying to access the project template system rotates a circle for some time and keeps us on the same page.
    Even when we are trying to create project from the same template, system does the same again rotates the circle for some time and keeps us on the same screen.
    And System is not throwing any error for the same (we have checked in the log as well) just not letting us in and not allowing us to create project.
    Any Help Will be Highly Appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rakesh Daiya

    Dear Experts,
    We were able to find out the issue,
    We added 3 groups to the template with "Reviewer" access with "Document Only" Type in the project template.
    When we changed the type to "Template and Document" from "Document Only" and  system started allowing us to create projects from the template.
    Can anyone please help me with one query,
    Can we add a group(which includes all the buyers) with reviewer access and with Document only type?
    Does this really be a reason behind projects are not getting created from template?
    Any help will be appreciated
    Regards,
    Rakesh Daiya

  • Access page method from template

    Hi,
    I'm using JDev11/ADF and I need to implement this scenario : A have a page fragment based on a page template. This page has a backing bean with a class exteded from a generic class. I have some generic buttons in the page template. Theses buttons need to call a method in the base backing bean class through the page's backing bean. I read Frank's solution to access the page's binding from the template :
    [http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/11/23/adf-faces-rc-implementation-strategies-for-global-buttons-in-page-templates/]
    but is there a way to access a method in the page's bean from the template (A listener for instance ?)...
    tks.

    Hi,
    what is missing is a method attribute like in declarative components. This however does not exist for templates yet. So there is no other solution yet than to invent some kind of contract.

  • Metadata from MS Access

    Hi,
    is it possible to read metadata from an MS Access (2007) database ? I have a successfully tested location, but when trying to read tables in the metadata import wizard the hourglass cursor hangs on the tables node. It's possible to cancel and to continue working. Documentation says that's possible to read metadata from Excel, so it should be possible to Access as well. I experimented with 2 locations: one defined via host:port:sid, the other via database link, both wit the same negative result.
    some ideas ?
    regards
    Thomas

    </ol>
    Thomas

  • How can I create a navigation bar in the template so I can change the down state of a button on a page made from the template in DW3?

    We're creating pages from a template in DW3. The template includes a header, footer and a navigation bar. We've made the navigation bar an editable region so that we can change the down state of the buttons on pages where it is required. However, when we make a new page from the template and try to change the behaviors of the buttons in the navigation bar it will not allow us to make those changes.

    Have you considered using CSS styled text/list menus instead of image rollovers.  It isn't hard really and it's actually a much better choice for   web accessibility and for search engines to find and follow your links.   Here are some links to several CSS menu systems you can try:

  • Region Template in ContentPresenter - JDeveloper

    Hello together,
    is it possible to use a SiteStudio Region Template in the Content Presenter, when I add the Content Presenter in JDeveloper to a jspx page.
    Here is a screen shot from the properties:
    http://s14.directupload.net/images/140122/fxmb3mog.jpg
    The senario:
    I use a query to select a Contributor Data File from the Content Server and now I want to select a suitable template from the Content Server as well.
    What do I have to do? Is this senario actually possible?
    Thanks for your answers.
    Lukas

    Hi.
    In official documentation Creating Content Presenter Display Templates - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0) you'll find following:
    Oracle recommends that you use Content Presenter ADF templates to integrate Site Studio and WebCenter Portal instead of Site Studio region templates. The recommended flow is:
    Develop region definitions in Site Studio
    Develop ADF templates referencing region definitions using JDeveloper
    Publish the templates and import them into Portal Server
    Use Content Presenter to render the content and to enable users to contribute content
    Why recommends this way?.
    Performance and caching.
    Site Studio will be deprecated in the future.
    Integrates perfectly with ADF / Portal in terms of Framework, access and allows you to pass parameters / variables.
    When to use Region Template?.
    When you have do internal or use complex functions of UCM.
    As backward compatibility with old Region Templates built in Site Studio.
    I hope it helps.
    Regards.

  • Convert metadata from Analytic Workspaces to CWMLite

    Hi,
    I'm trying to connect to Oracle OLAP using Dynasight. DynaSight Developer, which seems to use ODBO/MDX architecture, only can "see" SH-schema (Sales History) cubes. I have tried Oracle versions 9.2.0.7, 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.2 but only CMWLite data can be queried.
    In order to be able to "see" and query the cubes using Dynasight we must create a catalog and add objects to this catalog. The metadata created can be checked at the following tables from OLAPSYS schema:
    CWM2$MRALL_CATALOGS
    CWM2$MRALL_CATALOG_ENTITY_USES
    Is there any API to create cwmlite/CWM1 metadata? I think dimensions and cubes can be created using the Enterprise Manager (in Oracle 10g cubes can only be created using the Enterprise Manager Web) but I don't know how to create the catalog metadata (I still haven't tried Oracle Warehouse Builder).
    AWM 10.2.0.2 is very nice but the analytic workspace created can not be queried using Dynasight. Is there any way to "translate/convert" the metadata from the AW to CWM1?
    If there's any way to do this then which could be the best way to deploy the objects created between our environments (dev, QA, prod)?
    Also, same question using AWM: which is the best way to deploy objects between environments? I saw we can create templates in XML format or export objects to a EIF file, any other options?
    Thanks,
    Rubén Martí.

    Scott,
    the Dynasight connector for Oracle OLAP has a very bad performance and returns wrong data (we are waiting for feedback from Dynasight support). On the other hand, the Oracle OLAP DML connector works fine and let us see the AW in object view mode (not in model view mode). Also, the cubes created using AWM can not be accessed using Dynasight connector.
    Your comment about setting up the AWs to be queriable through relational views sounds very interesting. Could you please provide the steps required to do so? Will this allow us to see the dimensions, cubes, etc.(metadata) or it will materialize the cubes using snapshots (so that we won't have metadata)?
    Cheers,
    Rubén.
    P.S.: I had to change the OTN user to this because I lost my password when trying to change the email (which is not possible, but I realized too late!)

  • Upload Accrual Reference from External Template

    Hi All,
    I'm working on CRM Funds and Accruals management module and I'm investigating about the possibility to upload sales volume from external template. My scenario is the following one: since for indirect customers the reference volumes for the accrual calculation are not from CRM but will be from an external template, how can I do to take into account also these volumes during the accrual calculation job performed in CRM side?
    Does anyone of you know a way to update the Accrual Reference Table with these volume?
    Any documentation about the Accruals is welcome.
    Thanks in advance!

    When I go in and select the new region template for a region, it removes all the images and outlines from the region. I see the color changes take place, so I am assuming the my pointers to the images needs to be changed? I am on a hosted server so I don't have access to the images directory. Do I need to upload pictures and then reference the uploaded images to make them visible?No. If the images are already on the server then they just have to be referenced in the CSS using the correct URLs.
    background-image: url("../images/sRegion.png");This is a relative URL specifying the location of the image in relation to the style sheet. There's no image at this location relative to a style sheet in the page template header.
    In this case the best idea is to specify the image in relation to the fixed point of the APEX images folder <tt>/i/</tt>:
    background-image: url(/i/themes/theme_3/images/sRegion.png);
