Access permission to the Project server workflow tasks in project server 2013.

Hi All,
I am creating an OOB Project server workflow, where it contains few phases and each phases have some stages, there are few approval levels of the workflow.
Scenario - 1st stage - when project is submitted, a task is assigned to resource, when the resource click on the task link provided in mail, it redirects to the project server workflow task list.
1) When users view the task list, for all user the delete Item and approve button is enabled even we have given permission as edit, view permission in sharepoint group for that user.
2) Task list should be viewable by specific user but in my case even after giving the permission it can be apporved by any one who is not authorised also.
3)  then i tried below things
1. deleted the user in pwa
2. deleted the user in sharepoint site.
even after doing the above, the user able to do all activity in the stie content page, have access to the sharepoint portal. how this is possible?
When checked with not existing user permission there are few defalut permission set for that user after AD sync. because of this he as access, even if he is not in pwa or in sharepoint site. how to retrict this?
Can anyone faced the same issue?
How to fix this permission issue?
Thanks in advance.
Sunitha

Hello Treb Gatte,
I ma creating Data Connection from SSRS Report, and then creating Data Set for "Project
Server Workflow Tasks".
And then when I pull data from the database, it is returning empty. For any other sharepoint list this
is working absolutely fine. I am facing issue only wrt "Project Server Workflow Tasks" list.
Thanks,
Shanky

    Hi,
It seems that your configuration is Ok. By the way, the workaround for this error is:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[Transparent gateway for ODBC][H001] The environment variable <HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO> is not set.
    * Set HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO in the hs{sid}init.ora file to the data source name.
    Example: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = <ODBC DataSource Name>
    * Make sure the hs{sid}init.ora file exists in the ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin directory and has the same name as the SID in the LISTENER.ORA.
Example: If SID=hsodbc in the listener.ora file, then the hs{sid}init.ora file would be named ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin/inithsodbc.ora

  • What is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0

what is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0?
enterprise or standard? can I install it on datacenter?
please provide me with the reference.
    thanks

Workflow Manager will work with either SharePoint Enterprise or Standard.  It doesn't work well with Foundations since it depends on User Profiles to pass user identity to the workflow.  And yes you can install it on Windows Server datacenter edition.
Here are the supported platforms for installation
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj193487(v=azure.10).aspx
This article talks about integration with SharePoint and states that Foundation is not supported, but it doesn't differentiate between the Server editions, so any edition will do.

  • SP2013 Customize Workflow Task Form with InfoPath 2013 - Unknown error occurred

    Hi everyone,
After creating "Collect data from user" workflow using SharePoint designer, I need to customize the task form. But when I open the .xsn file (SharePoint generated), without editing anything (for testing purpose), and publish it, I got the message
box: "An unknown error has occurred. The form template has been published to the server but it can only be opened in InfoPath Filler". I test the same scenario in SharePoint 2010, and it worked. It really annoys me.
No exception in the log file, and no solution after much searching around.
    Please help.

    Hi john_d
I got the solution to customize the Workflow task form. We cannot customize the workflow task form from InfoPath 2013, and if some how you are able to publish the task form it then when you publish your workflow then it your workflow will overwrite
the default task form to your customized one.
So the solution for it is that whatever fields you want to add to the task form you can just in "TASK FORM FIELDS" and it will display in your task form when you publish your workflow.

  • How to provide View access for all the projects to an employee?

We’ve a requirement to provide view access to certain employees to all the projects. They are supposed to have only view access to the project information (HTML Interface). We don’t want to assign these employees to the projects.
In this regard we created a menu that gives users only view access to project information. We assigned the employee/user the profile option “PA: Cross Project User View” and set the value to “Yes”. However the user is only able to view Project Overview information. The moment I assign the user to a project (non scheduled member), the user is able to view all project information.
We’ve tried bouncing the apache post assignment of the profile option to the user, but no luck. Is there something else required to be done? Why is the profile option not working? Please advice.
Note: We don’t want to give the user Project Authority as it by default gives the user rights to modify information in the project.
Any other suggestions to achieve the said functionality is most welcome.

For 10.1.4, there are two ways to reference a document :
    1. Path URLs which takes the form :
    http://<host>:<port>/portal/page/<dad>[lang-<language>][ver-<version>]/<page_group_name>/<page_path>/<item_name>
    More info : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b13809/apdxurls.htm#BEIBFDBH
    2. Durable URLs which take the form :
    http://<host>:<port>/portal/page/<dad>[lang-<language>][ver-<version>]/<item_guid>
The advantage of durable URLs is that they will not change even when the object name changes. The durable URL is available in the properties sheet of the item.

  • Unable to access calendar, because the calendar server is not running.

    Hello everyone.
I'm new in posts (not in read them) and I need some help.
This subject message appears when I try to access my iCal on Wiki Page.
We have here 2 Intel xServers, one with Web and features and other with Gateway and network management.
My Web Service, has Wiki, Blog, Calendar enable services, all up and running normally without errors, but the iCal I can't access showing that error on page.
I Installed the Mac OS Server Snow Leopard from the begin (formatting...), configured all things and ok.
But since starts the calendar was with that error.
The server is updated to 10.6.6.
I will really appreciate to be helped. Thanks from now!

    Hi,
Note this is a 10.5 forum and so 10.6 problems may not correspond.
However, I noted the following log entry:
http://calendarserver.tap.caldav.CalDAVServiceMaker#info Setting up document root at: /Users/dincaoadm/Desktop/test
For collaboration service with wikis, the document root should be located at /Library/CalendarServer/Documents
Which leads me to suspect your iCalServer is not setup correctly for wiki/calendar service.
Before selecting calendar service in the web setup ensure the iCalServer service is running correctly.
    HTH,
    Harry

  • Why i can't access apex on the unix server.

    hi
I have created an Apex successfully, and
    SQL> SELECT STATUS FROM DBA_REGISTRY WHERE COMP_ID = 'APEX';
    STATUS
    VALID
I can connect to http://192.168.3.97:7780/ to see the 'Oracle HTTP Server - Welcome ' page,
however I can't connect http://192.168.3.97:7780/pls/apex/apex_admin, it just show:
    The webpage cannot be found
    HTTP 404
    Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.
And i use HTTP server + mod_plsql method to create Apex.
Can someone help me and give me a little bit enlighten?
    Thank in advance!

  • Change the description of workflow/task

    Hi Workflow experts,
I am working on CATS workflow, where the requirement is to change the description of task. As in my case, as the workflow comes into the inbox of supervisor, the description it shows should contain the short-text which is maintained in CATSDB table for the respective entry. Is there any FM to change that. It is not displaying the vriable, which i am passing through binding from workflow to TASK.

    Hi Santoshi,
I have a workflow, i have a task and rule and methods associated with that also.  CATS workflow is created by me according to the requirement. Now a new requirement has come up where i have to display the value of CATSDB-LTXA1 also.
In task, there is a tab of task description. Here we write text which gets displayed when a workflow comes to the inbox. Along with the hard-coded text, i need to display value of CATSDB-LTXA1. I am paasing this variable through the event container to the task container (in triggering event tab of task). & i am giving it in task's description tab. But it is not getting displayed when the workflow comes to the inbox.
Please let me know if there is any FM to change the text of Task's description dynamically. I will use that in the method.

  • Cannot download the Exchange Server 2013 SP1 ISO file from Microsoft Website.

    Hello Guys,
I cannot download the Exchange 2013 or Exch 2013 SP1 ISO file from the Microsoft Website.
Before downloading i have register on the Site.
Purpose of downloading the ISO is to upgrade the Active Directory Schema before installing exch server.
We get .exe file instead of ISO.
I am searching it for 2 days now no help.
    Suggestion and recommendations highly appreciated.

    Hi David,
    Thanks for the reply...
If we extract .exe file we get .data , .rsrc , .text , .Certificate files by which we cannot upgrade the schema.
As CU7 is available could you please share the link.
So now schema can be update at the time of post installation.
    Thanks...!!

  • Project Server 2013 Project Site Permission

    Hi All,
Q1: We are using project server 2013, most of the time the projects are created by the PMO coordinators and it will be assigned to the project manager. Project coordinator and Project Manager belongs to "Project Manager" group. After assigning
the project when the project manager tries to access Project Site, he is getting "why you want to access this site". When I checked project site permission only project coordinator name is added to the Owners group. Normally the project owner should
have the permission to the project site, how to fix it.
Q2: We have different enterprise project type with different site templates. When the project type is changed from one type to another, is it possible to delete and recreate the respective project sites automatically.
    Thanks in advance, Taj

    Taj,
Q1) this is a question related to how your security is set up. If you are using Project Server Permission mode, people in Project managers groups, who have edit ability on your project will get added to the Project manager Synchronized group on the project
site upon publish. You just need to make sure your secueiry ctegories and groups are set up as such.
Alternatively, you could set the owner of the project to be the project manager once they take ownership.
Q2) This will be a manual activity. You need to disconnect the site under server settings, then delete site. Then you can create the site, which will pickup the new EPT set project site template automatically.

  • Project Server 2013 - Approved Tasks not applied to Project Schedule

Environment Details: Microsoft Project Server 2013 SP1
When an Resource completes a tasks within the Task or Timesheet page at the end of each day, the tasks is routed to the Project Owner for approval. The Project Owner (Project Manager) approves the task. During this process no errors are displayed.
When the Project Owner (Project Manager) goes into the Project Professional 2013 client to view how the project is progressing, and update the project completion date, the updates is not applied to the project.
This worked for some time, but has recently stopped working with no changes made to the environment. Any help would be great, as our project manager's are manually updating the tasks prior to approving them so they can report back on the project each week.

    Hello ProjMgrMatt
Sounds pretty serious, but I think something is missing somewhere.
Make sure that the Status Manager field is the same as the Project Owner.
Check to queue to be sure that nothing is stuck and waiting.
Create a new project, publish, submit, approve, etc and see if it still happens.
    Cheers!.

  • Approve/Reject Working Time through the Enterprise Portal Workflow

    Hey Everyone,
We are currently working on a project to rollout a number new portal services.  I was wondering if anyone in ECC or Portal has experience with enhancing the Time Entry Approval process.  Is it possible to trigger an email notification when a manager rejects an employees time for any of the configured reasons.  I would like an email back to the email to let them know they should change their hours or that their overtime was rejected.  I have been spoiled by the deeper config options available for Leave Request.
In the standard workflow task the Item does turn red when rejected, but if employees aren't reviewing their entries they may never know it was rejected before they check their pay stubs.
I would be pretty surprised if the BADI or workflow task would be unable to know there was a rejection because it clearly asks you for a rejection reason and changes the colour of the request in the Record Working Time screen.
    Thank you in advance,
    Doug

    Sid,
I believe we are or have looked into RSWUWFML2, but I will confirm.
After trying a number of different options we are currently looking at using the Rejection check-box and determine if BASIS can redirect the messages to the employee's IT0105 subtype 0010 email address.
Here are some of the notes we have looked at.
