Accessing E-business suite in another network without configuring DMZ

Hi
How can i enable to access E-business sutie externally or to a different location.I dont want to setup the DMZ configurations and reverse proxy.Our Company have another Remote branch and they are not in same network.How can they able to access the E-business suite without enabling DMZ and reverse proxy.Is there anything like make the
IP of the Apps server as public will solve the issue ?

To make it public, you just need to change the IP Address of the application and the database servers to the real one and follow the steps in the following notes. Once you are done, the system will be accessible to the users then.

Adf mobile app accessing e-business suite 12.1.3

Hi,
I'm very new with ADF development, let alone with building a mobile app. We are in an exploratory stages of building a mobile application on top of the e-business suite using ADF. Ideally, we will use the ebusiness suite login (FND USER) to login to the mobile application. I understand that we need the ebiz suite Java SDK to make this possible.
Now, our ebusiness suite (release 12.1.3) is only run through the intranet meaning no DMZ is installed to access it via the internet. The question is, if we build a mobile application, do we need a DMZ server so that the mobile can access the e-business suite in the internet? Is there any option in place other than installing a DMZ to access the application externally by the mobile app?
Any advise is going to be very valuable to us.

You'll need to set up some type of server infrastructure that allows you to install WebLogic and an "ADF" environment to serve your mobile applications, preferably fronted by an HTTP server like Oracle HTTP Server (It's usually the HTTP Server that might be placed in a 'DMZ', with firewall rules governing how network traffic is allowed to move between the HTTP Server and the WebLogic Server.)
A good intro that can give you an overview of a deployment topology is one that I've referenced in the WebCenter documentation from time to time:

.. there is obviously a lot more in that document than you wll be using (i.e. you won't be concenred with SOA, WebCenter or even the database), but there's a nice drawing there of the HTTP Server and a WebLogic environment to host your application and some discussion about what and when you'll want to consider clustering, etc.

Automatic removing Midlet suite by another Midlet without user intervention

I would like to use a Midlet to remove another Midlet which is already installed on the device.

That's a different matter. The second MIDlet is launched by the Application Manager at the scheduled time, not by the MIDlet that books the PushRegistry alarm. And there's no way you can possibly
go back to my midlet again.Apart from which, many devices will ask the user's permission before launching an application scheduled by PushRegistry, so even the first part of your requirement can't be guaranteed to be seamless.
Why do you think you need this? There may be an easier solution, like using related classes with only one MIDlet.

Networking without configuring stuff is fun!

Everyone who is responsible for computers knows those stupid little jobs of configuring printers, setting IP adresses and gateways, configuring DNS servers, etc.
In this thread I would like to sum up applications that make live easier, applications and settings that enable a kind of automatic configuration in the network.
A few examples to start the thread:
[*] cups: use CUPS Browsing to find printers on the network, no need to configure printers on the client hosts in the network, just listen to broadcasts
[*] dhcp (of course): configure IP addresses, gateways, dns servers and even ntp servers and lots more automatically
[*] avahi: zeroconfiguration, multicast DNS for the local network
These are the most popular ones I think, but are there other applications like these for other services? Interesting applications that use avahi? Please share it with the other Arch users!

If they keep making PCs simpler, it will put me out of a job. Seriously, though we have come a long way. It is getting to the point where a user can connect an ethernet cable and automatically see everything on the subnet.

Oracle E-Business Suite access from the Host machine

Please, after installing E-Business Suite and going through Post-configuration details, I would like to get access of my applications portal from the host system.
I have tried several ways of doing that and would not know the steps to follow in order to access the portal directly from the physical host machine.
I took the normal steps as when configuring end users and can ping the virtual machine from the Host system but can't do the same form the virtual machine of the host machine.
I can ping another server and other machines int he same network but not the one on which the virtual machine is installed.

I am confused first clear what is hostmachine and what is virtual machine.....
call the machine which will access the application on virtual machine as CLIENT
call the machine which is hosting the virtual machine a VIRTUAL MACHINE HOST
call virtual machine as VIRTUAL MACHINE
You mean I should change my host IP? It has so many applications using that localhost name.Is ther any setting done in the network and have you ever accessed an application installed on Virtual machine from the host machine?>
changing of ip doesnt have any impact if ur applications are using hostname..if they are using ip then there is a issue,Yes i have acces EBIZ installed on virtula machine many times.
And if ur working in a organization then ask ur network admins to check whats the issue..may be some were firewall issue also ..thats why i asked u to chnage ip.

Issue with Integrating E-Business suite with Oracle Webcache server

I am trying to configure webcache to E- Business Suite.
Webcache sits on some other server, and configured both the sides means webcache server side as well as E-Business side.
Now issues is i am trying to access E-Business suite via webcache server i am getting Jsp pages as well OA Frame work pages but i could not able to open forms from function click.
Here when we are trying to launch forms from function click we are getting nothing
At that time i hope this will hit FND_ICX_LAUNCH.runforms for launcing the forms.Here is the problem i guess, we are not getting any
pl/sql pages(modplsql).

Thanks for your reply. I need the integration of E-Business suite with OAM , in 10g we have to integrate the E-Business suite with OSSO and the WE need to integrate the OSSO with OAM 10g.
I heard that now we can integrate the E-Business suite with OAM 11g with out OSSO, is it correct ??

E-Business Suite 11i on Internet Explorer 8 running in Windows 7

Hi Guys,
Need your help IE8 keeps on crashing while using or accessing E-Business Suite. I already tried some of the workaround like copying the jvm.dll of the sun JRE1.6 to Oracle Jinitiator directory but still it is not working. Also I tried disable some of the add-ons but still not fixed the problem. Currently, im doing windows update and hopefully this would fix the problem.
Does anyone also encountered this problem?

Metalink doc id 290807.1 says that Internet Explorer 8 is now ccertified using Sun JRE 1.6.0_03 and higher. I have JRE 1.6.0_07 with Internet Explorer 8 for my Oracle 11i and the windows are freezing up consistently and works fine with IE 7, but i have users in IE 7 and IE 8, could you anyone help me with this issue. my full version is oracle 11.5.10.2 and my desktop in Windows XP.

If this element is present in the configuration file, Oracle BI Presentation Services displays the menu option that allows users to create a Navigate to E-Business Suite action. Users must have the proper privileges to access E-Business Suite from Oracle BI Presentation Services.
The following example is an ebusinesssuiteconfig entry.

My issue is resolved. Problem was that the EBS DB user that I was using in RPD didn't have access to all the required packages and because of that it was giving error that NQ_SESSION>ICS_SESSION_COOKIE has not variable definiation.
If you are using APPS user that you should not have any problem but if you are using other DB user and its not super user that check if the user have Execute privileges on the following packages:
FND_GLOBAL
fnd_run_function
fnd_function
APP_SESSION
this should resolve the issue. I hope you already know that both EBS and OBIEE should be on same domain and use same HTTP protocol like HTTPS or HTTP.
Is it your case ?

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 with HACMP

Hello,
I'm planning to make a dtsirbuted installation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 like the flollowing configuration :
- Node 1: Web and Forms
- Node 2 : Concurrent Processing.
The two nodes NODE1 and NODE2 are going to be in cluster HACMP, if Node1 goes down for example the Web & Forms Services Will be started on Node 2 and vice versa.
- Node 3 : DB physically clustered with an other Machine Node4(empty).
I need to know is this a possible architecture in a technical point of view especially for the application? and what are the configurations to perform?

How can I use Airport Express to create a standalone Wi-Fi network without Internet Access so I can browse web pages on the local network? I will be using MAMP as my server (Apache)

I would like to create my own Wi-Fi standalone network at an upcoming tradeshow where there will be NO internet access.
Currently, I run and develop sites on my iMac use MAMP to manage my sites locally. Using MAMP, I run my sites as though they are on the internet although everything is local.
I purchased an Airport Express hoping I could create a standalone network so that the iMac would broadcast its website to whatever device connects to it such as my iPhone, iPad and MacBookPro.
However, after setting up the network successfully (I have a green light on the Airport Express, and there is NO internet going through it), I am not able to go any further by logging into the iMac's websites from the other machines. Form my MacBookPro Finder, I can look at files and folders using afp://10.0.1.2, from the Find/Go/Connect to Server utility, but I can't browse the website that is running on the iMac via the Safari browser.
Can anyone help me configure my MacBookPro (or iPad, or iPhone) to run the website on the iMac when they are all on the same network?

Does someone already create a new Wi-Fi network using its TC connected by Ethernet on a modem/router device ? How do you set up the DHCP (and NAT) ? Which range did you use ?
This is easy enough to do..
Plug the TC directly into a computer.. without other connections to do the setup.
Using the newly installed 5.6 utility.
Bridge the TC.
Create a wireless network.
This is an older screen shot and I would set security to WPA2 Personal only not WPA/WPA2 Personal as shown above.
I do recommend you use wireless names that are short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Update the TC..
Now plug it into the modem router.. it will be a part of the network without doing NAT and DHCP itself.. which you do not want.. that leads to double NAT issues.. but it is a WAP that provides access to devices on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands directly to the main router.

How can I access my itunes library from another computer in my home. The computers are on a wireless network. The computer that we have used as our main computer and that has our library on it is running Windows XP. The laptop that I want to use to access the library is running VISTA. ANy ideas?
