Accessing info?

Hi....I am having problems locating my bosses info button on his Apple laptop. On my ICAL I have a i icon on the bottom right hand corner (next to the To Do list pin icon and search results icon) which I can hit and it brings up all info for selected, calendar, event or to do items. I can't find it on his....any ideas?!

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The Info button is a feature of the Tiger version of iCal. It appears as if your boss is using Leopard, and iCal 3.0.x no longer has that button. The Leopard user can edit/access the event info by using keyboard shortcuts (⌘I/⌘E) or the application menu to access the Info pane.

The purpose is to get all the information from Info.plist from actionscript. I need to access all the information from Info.plist: like CFBundleVersion , CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion which are all 'Reserved iOS InfoAdditions settings'(which are all auto generated). If I unzip the .IPA I can see Info.plist file with all these information. So I need to access all the values of Info.plist in dictionary format. Hence I am trying the access Info.plist by using ‘File.applicationStorageDirectory', but I am not able to get the file path.

"mail" server access info and messages deleted

Earlier today through an errant instruction, the server access info for Mail 4.6 was inadvertently deleted. This process also deleted all the messages viewable in
Mail's mailboxes: In/Sent/Trash !
From Time Machine, I restored the server access information and the deleted messages!
All of the restored messages now appear as nnnn.emix (as expected) in Home/Mail/POP email address/INBOX.mbox/messages. Similarly for Sent Messages & Deleted Messages.
However, only new messages since restore appear in Mail!!! The restored messages do not appear (although they appear as nnnn.emix in Finder)!
What am I missing here?

My statement above about seeing current messages in Mail is only "partially correct." I find that if I close out Mail... then reopen the program, the messages that were there have disappeared... and, they've similarly disappeared from the nnnn.emix files in Finder!
So... something is clearly amiss!

My iPod was stolen! I need to access info it saved to the iCloud!

A couple of weeks ago, my iPod Touch was stolen by my downstairs neighbors. Long story, but I know it was them. I had been using it as a motion-activated surveillance camera. I was using an app called iVigilo SmartCam+ with the extra addons, like motion sensor and video recording. So, one of the options in the app allows for these videos to be saved to my Camera Roll, Apple's iCloud, and iVigilo's Cloud. That's three different places.
Now, I've managed to access the files saved from iVigilo's Cloud, which was 99% of the video. According to an admin of the app, the last "event" only showed up as a photo instead of a video, was because the app or device or internet was interrupted before the video could be saved to the cloud. The app first takes a photo when motion is detected, which is then used as the thumbnail to the video in the app when reviewing the saved events.
So, the admin told me that there is still a small chance that even part of that video could be saved to Apple's iCloud. Now, he told me that this is possible if using a Mac computer, but I unfortunately do not own or even know anyone with a Mac. I only have Windows computers. Now, when I open iCloud on my pc, if I click on "Manage..." it pops up a new window and shows me that I have some backups saved, mail saved, but also that iVigilo has what looks like all three days' worth of footage saved, but all iCloud lets me do is delete it, but I sure don't want to do that. I've been told about the "Mobile Documents" folder that gets saved by iCloud on a Mac, but how do I get my info of the iCloud with a pc?
Or, is it possible somehow to force my iPhone to use the iPod's backup? Maybe the video I need got saved to my Camera Roll in time?
Oh, and I had the Find my iPhone thing turned on on the iPod and used the Lost Mode for it from my iPhone, but either the theif wiped the iPod, just isn't telling it to connect to WiFi (I had auto-ask to join networks turned off), or they short-circuited the device when they stole it because the power cable was plugged in at the time and they either riped or cut it right from the cable. I immediately called the cops at what turned out to be 5 hours after the theft, but the cops said that without proof and the neighbor denying it, they couldn't do anything about it. The neighbor denied to the cop about even knowing the device was there, which turned out to be a lie because the last actual video I have been able to access shows her going down the stairs, stops next to the device (which is at this point in a black fabric case I made myself and this fabric case is zip-tied to the metal stair railing. The entire device is covered except a hole I cut out for the camera.), she then bends over to look at the front of the camera, and then continues down the stairs, goes into her apartment, leaving the door open, talks to her sister that's inside the apartment, and you hear her clearly say, "There is a f***ing camera setup out here on the stairs." Then, barely two minutes later, when the camera detects the next movement is just the photo taken, showing that sister coming out of the apartment towards the device. How is this NOT enough evidence to get her??? So, if I can even get just a little bit of that missing video, there couldn't be anymore doubts!

You can restore the iPhone from an iPod backup as long as the iOS version on the iPhone is equal to or greater than the iOS version on the iPod. If you restore from iTunes backup all the apps have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup.that iTunes makes.

Problems accessing info in Outlook for mac

Hi,
I have used Outlook for Mac ever since I bought my first macbook pro and it has been fine, but since I upgraded to my macbook pro and migrated files across to the retina, upgraded to Mavericks etc, I don't seem to be able to access files that should ahve trnasferred across. the file structure are there but when I try to open something, the folder looks empty. Going into Get Info and I get "outlook can't open the file because it is 'not associated with the deafult identity'.
I know the first reaction of apple is - this is not an apple product so we don't help, but I think this is a cop out as in this modern world where we're trying to get stuff to work seamlessly, that shouldn't really make a difference and in any event Apple were happy to sell me Outlook when I bought the laptop. I will be posing the same question in the microsoft community. But does anyone else recognise this problem and have a solution in language that someone who isn't very techy can understand?

These are user to user forums, and I think if anyone can help they will, regardless of whether the product is made by Apple or not. LDAP access info in datasource xml file for multidomain Test Connect fails.

I've gone through the video that explains how to setup the multidomain conf.
I have my service users but when it comes to enter the ldap access user I'm not sure what info to enter.
My ldap user is created at the company.com level not at the domain1.company.com level as is indicated in the video.
I entered the following values
ume.ldap.access.server_name> server1
ume.ldap.access.user> [email protected]
ume.ldap.access.base_path.user> CN=USERS,DC=COMPANY,DC=COM
ume.ldap.access.base_path.grup> CN=USERS,DC=COMPANY,DC=COM
And when I try to test connection I'm getting an error. So I have two questions:
Should the ldap account be created at the domain1.company.com level?
And how do I get the correct info to populate the base_path fields? Not sure where to get it, I just followed video.

Couple of things.,
1. What LDAP you are using
2. What kind of hierarchy (flat or deep)
The hierachy will decide the user path and the group path.
Given you have all the right values then you populate the values for the foolowing.,
- Server Name or IP
- Server port number
- LDAP user name by (used for connectivity and access which should have enough rights)
- Password for the LDAP user
- User path
- Group path
With all the above given right the test connection should succeed.
Optionally SSL can be enabled for LDAP connectivity and can specify unique attribute for UME unique ID (this field will be uid for SUN LDAP and samaccountname for MS AD)

Cannot access 'Info' when device connected to computer.

Don't know if this is a Q for the iTunes section or the iPhone section, but will give it a go...
Whenever I connect my iPhone to iTunes and it has finished syncing, in the devices section, I cannot access the 'Info' tab. Each time I do it crashes and won't respond. The error message just says that the AppleMobileDeviceHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close. I end up have to shut it down manually and restart my computer, otherwise iTunes doesn't run properly if I just re-open it.
Any ideas anyone?

Cannot Access Info Tab

In addition to not being able to update to 9.1 (which is zero fun), I cannot click on the Info Tab when my iPod Touch is connected. I can access Summary, Applications, Music, etc., but when I click on the Info Tab...nothing happens. Thanks, Apple. Any suggestions? Unfortunately, I seem to have Apple Care on speed-dial lately, and I'll probably have to phone them in the morning.

Trying to access Info tab causes crash

Whenever I click on the Info tab in iTunes 6.0.4, the app crashes. This is not the case with any of the other informational tabs (Lyrics, Artwork, etc.). This only started with 6.0.4. I've repaired permissions, checked for corrupt fonts and used Prefs Overload to check for damage to the preference files. I'm not sure of how to reinstall 6.0.4 since it's already there.
Any ideas?

Do you get this crash when trying to access the info tab on EVERY song or just a few? There could be corrupt data within the ID3 tag of the MP3 that could cause the crash. iTunes could also have bad data in it's library XML file (if you by chance happened to edit it yourself).
Let us know if have any more info that could help diagnose the problem. Good luck.

Accessing info. in Azure Dashboard from Rest API or powershell command let

Azure management portal shows CPU utilization aggregated at role level when I click on a hosted service.
Is there any way to access this info. using REST API or Azure powershell command lets?

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro last updated to Mavericks OS. The screen died and it's not worth replacing. How do I remove the hard drive and use a drive sled to access info I need?

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro last updated to the Mavericks OS. The screen died and I took it into an Apple store and was told replacing the screen and the hardware to repair everything would cost almost as much as buying a new laptop or a cheaper model. I was told that I can use a drive sled to access data I need on my hard drive. How do I remove my hard drive and use a drive sled to get to the information I need? What makes matters more complicated is I need to update my iPhone and my iTunes/App store purchases. How can I accomplish this?
My wife has a late 2008 Macbook Pro as well, which I am assuming I need to run my hard drive. Is there a way to just access just my hard drive without interfering with hers?

the device you need is an External enclosure for a 2.5" (laptop form factor) SATA drive.
A USB-interface enclosure will be slow, but is adequate for this task and for re-purposing as a backup drive later. A firewire-interface drive would be faster, but is harder to find, more expensive, and faster than needed for this purpose.
The drive will mount as an "extra" drive on your wife's Macbook, and you can drag and drop whatever you wish. You could create a separate Account for yourself on her computer, and use Migration Assistant or just copy your stuff over to the new account. Then it would not interfere with her files.

XML basic, how to access info by tag

One quick question:
I have an xml file, and at the very beginning there are these tags with data that i need to get. I have learned how to access nodes to retrieve information-like employee, name, age, id, but for these tags that appear only once, I am lost as how to process them. For instance here, I only want the string 15-09-2008.

The main xml file holds employee data:

and going from there getting the name, age, id stuff
however, this <employee> information is preceded by other information such as <Day> and <meeting_dt> which i need. However, this is not repeating information and appears once. That is my problem. I try NodeList n2=NodeList nl = docEle.getElementsByTagName("JAVS"); and then looking for <Day> but this failed.

Bought seagur backup plus and used it to back up my Imac.Plugged it into my laptop and it only appears on the desktop and I can't access info/files on it.

I bought a Seagur back up plus to back up all the files etc on my Imac.However when i pluggedit into my laptop(HP) it mshows on the desktop but I can't access the photos,music etc on it.I got the EHD that was for mac or pc.

Finding ARD access info in logs...

Our old network consultant accessed our network and changed all of the passwords causing a great disruption to business. There is criminal legal action under way and we need to gather some evidence of his activities. Is there a particular log in the console that would show ARD access? If not in the console, how do I find it?
