Accessing My Old Page With iWeb

I have put up a website using iWeb on a .mac account::
web.mac.com/jupiterspaceport
But I a while back had to clear my disk and re-install the whole system.
Ever since then I cannot get back to my page using iWeb. For when I start it up
the program asks me to create a new page, and does not remember my old page
that is already published.
How do I re-access my old web-page using iWeb?

All the information iWeb needs to create your websites is in one file known as the Domain file. The Domain file's default location is ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb (the tilde (~) represents your home directory) If no Domain file exists, you will be prompted to create a new site.
Your iWeb project is gone! You have to rebuild your site. Visiting your website online and copying/pasting elements into iWeb may help to rebuild your site a little faster.

Problem publishing Photo page with iWeb 08

I have a problem when publishing photo pages with iWeb 08. Upload starts and then I get the error message that iWeb encountered a problem while publishing. The funny thing is that I can see
the photo page in Safari. The only problem is that when starting the slide show I can not see the
forward/backward buttons. Publishing a photo page with iWeb from a .me web photo gallery works without any error message, but still when starting the slideshow the navigation buttons are not displayed. Actually if you click on the place where the navigation buttons are supposed to be,
you can go picture forward/backward. Any idea ?

I am having the same issue, except I do not get any error messages when publishing to a folder. Clicking on the "index" file within the folder will open the photo page in both Safari and Firefox. Everything functions as designed except no forward/backward/pause buttons are visible below the slideshow. There are text box outlines with a question mark where these buttons are supposed to be located, and I can pause, advance or reverse slides. Eventually these question mark outlines disappear and stay disappeared.
The end result is there are no intuitive graphic indicators on the slide show to even suggest to the viewer that he/she has some control over the presentation. I don't believe I can add explanatory text boxes to the slide show to compensate for the missing icons. This lack of visible control elements in the slide show is a huge issue. I am reasonable sure the problem does not reside within my computer. I've also reviewed inspector control options for a photo page/slide show and haven't gotten any combination of check boxes to make a difference.
I'm beginning to think this may be an unexpected conflict that was contained within a recent software update. It might well be worth a close look at programming code by Apple technicians. In the meantime, can anyone offer a clue as to what might be going on?

2) Can't get Quicktime "start/stop" slide to start and finish a section within a long piece of music (classical for example). How does one work the slide bar to do this?

Yes the audio file plays on the iWeb page when I click the play button. I even made sure it played both without the “little boxes” that surround the icon (don’t know the technical name for those), and when I click the music icon without the little boxes.
I did note that the iTunes window that appears when I open the Inspector is not highlighted until I click the music icon and those little boxes appear. Then the Start/Stop, Auto Play, Loop, and Show Movie Controller are highlighted — and work properly.
One other thing. I see that the iWeb icon I am working from says “Domain copy.sites2.” Does that have a bearing on anything?

Can only access certain man pages with sudo

I can only access certain man pages with sudo. They aren't accessible as either root or normal user. I can't be a 100% sure but it would appear that the man pages I have problems with are those located in /usr/share/man. I can't see any differences in file or directory permissions with those located in /usr/man. Anyone else having this problem. Or have I commited another noobish mistake.
man pacman is an example.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

After opening the email it shoud of had you enter the Apple ID and password. Using certian web browser's can cause errors. You can adjust securty settings (big pain) or you use another browser. Using Firefox or Safari should do the trick.
Let me know if using Firefox or Safari resolved it.

Using a Word web page with iWeb

I want to create a web page with Microsoft Works, and then import it to my iWeb application. How can I do this?

Please be patient, I typed out these directions as I did it on my computer in approx 3 minutes...if anything is unclear...let me know
Open your word document
Click file > save as web page > save to location of your cboice…in my case, on the desktop for easy access
Right click on the file, and click open with, choose textedit….it hopens the html code, just to make sure it’s right
Upload that to your idisk in the “sites” folder
Log into .mac account via the web
Click on “homepage” subtab at the top of the screen
Click “add new page”
Click “advanced” tab on the left hand side
Click “external HTML” (the only option for pages in “advanced” tab)
Click the file you just uploaded to idisk sites folder, then click choose
It will show you a preview of the page, and then click publich..
Get the URL, and link to it from your iWeb site…they’ll n ever know how you did it

Can't access all internet pages with new wifi

I just moved and my apartment complex has free Wifi. I can access most web pages but can't open for example fox.com, abc.com. A message says I am not connected to internet. I have to login to the wifi service and I am recognized. I don't know if it is my computer or wifi. Thanks

Im willing to bet its the wifi. Reason being is I have had a similar experience with my old wifi router. I would get a dropped connection and i thought it was my macbook and PC. Turned out it was my router and once i upgraded to a Airport Extreme, everything has been fine and i have not had a single dropped connection. If its in an apartment complex, Im willing to guess they have a normal router from wherever its transmitting from and the router cannot handle the load. Perhaps someone is also trying to access the router not knowing passwords and this causes the router to lag and kick people off. Try bringing your computer to a friends house with wifi and try loading the pages there.

in short... i made a web page using iweb 09' on my desktop... it is with a domain name that is with godaddy.com... i have it all working... forwarding to my web page etc.... but... how do i edit my web page using my laptop and iweb.... i can't seem to import or load the page into iweb on my laptop? it was created on my desktop and i can modify and change things on it but not my laptop... what am i doing wrong?

How can i access my old correspondense with old password in Mozilla Thunderbird? How can i check out from my password?

Accordingly, i changed a password, and when i checked in on my computer the first time with a new password, i stupidly checked the box "remember me on this computer", but i lost access to all my old emails that were laying in Thunderbird on my PC. As you have modified the IMAP mail account and it is currently accessing the new hosting server, so cannot display anything on a different server, I would leave it alone because it is working just fine.
What you could try is to create a new IMAP mail account with server settings to the old host server using the old password.
File > New > exisitng mail account
Enter name, email address and password
click on 'Continue'
If you do manage to get access, then synchronise the subscribed folders to get a copy downloaded to Thunderbird Profile folders. As those folders are constantly updating to match the server, once you have the emails downloaded, go into 'offline' mode and move them into 'Local Folders'; you will need to make new folders in Local Folders account for those emails.
However, it is possible that you may not get access as that contract has ended. There is no obligation for the old host company to keep your emails if you do not have an account with them. In which case those emails will be lost.
After creating new imap mail account, if you get access do as advised to get emails into Local Folders, once emails are in Local folders you can remove/delete the imap mail account. If it does not work, you can delete the imap mail account.

Is there are a way to delay the display of a page with iweb 08?

I have a page with a lot of content (SportsOutreachOnline.com -> Sports). The page takes a little while to load and look very unprofessional while doing it. It loads each piece and displays it piece of the website one at a time. I would like it to load like 70-90% of the way before displaying any content.
In other words, I would like the page to load most of the way before displaying itself. Is this possible to do with iweb 08?

Designing Embedded HTML Page with iWeb

I designed a html page with with an embedded html page within it. It all looks fine in iWeb, but when I upload the page to the intenet and I try to view this page it does not come up properly. Although I initially see the page come up as I designed it (for a fraction of a second) it then disapears and I only see the page I embedded on my page.
I added the following codes in HTML Snippet:

HD quicktime movie create page with iweb and host externally?

I made a 3
min HD movie the file is 1.5gig I have an account with
blue host that allows me 300gigs of space. I uploaded the movie no problem.
Now i want to make a web page with a link to that movie using iweb.
So in other words i design the simple page on i web and than upload it to
bluehost. How do I size a quicktime movie to be the correct size example
852x480? on the templates the movies are to small?

How did you fit a 1.5GB file into 300MB's of space?
What viewer is going to wait two or three hours (weeks on dial-up) to view a 3 minute file?
Your best solution is to link to file and let your viewers download it. Just use the complete URL as your link.
