Accessing Profile Option

Hi,
I have a validation to be made in the Controller of a OAF page.
If the uSer is Logged in with XYZ Responsibility and if the value for a Custom Profile OPtion for that Responsibility is 'True' ... Do certain things.
How to achieve this? How to get the responsibility name and the value of a profile option at responsibility level for that responsibility?
Thanks

pageContext.getProfile("<Profile Name>")
You need not specify responsibility. Framework is smart enough to get the profile value based on the current responsibility context.

  • Cannot Access Profile Options in New Verizon Webpage - Poor Tech Support

    I just started with Verizon this past Thursday for phone and internet DSL. Everything went smoothly except for the fact that there is a new webpage that Verizon is using that presents the customer and/or user with Profile options.
    Every time that I try to access these options, a message appears that states that these options will be available when my installation is completed.
    I have already installed the latest Verizon software on my PC, spoke to countless HSI support people, and am told that I would have to wait 48 to 72 hours for this to hopefully be resolved.
    Each time, I am given a scripted response where each rep uses screen sharing to try and resolve the problem. They waste my time by spending over an hour checking options, and then tell me that it is a webpage problem not my PC.
    I have never seen a new webpage rolled out and Beta tested while the old one was closed. In other words, every competitor of webmail Hotmail to Outlook, and Google with their new webpages, always keeps the old webpage active until they have worked out all the problems of the new one. They even allow you to try the new one, and then roll back if you were not satisfied.
    Verizon, you did a very poor job with this roll out by not presenting these options to the user. In your rush to implementation, you run the risk of losing customers because of the time wasted by scripted customer service reps who don't have a clue as to what is going on. I left Time Warner Cable to come to you for specific reasons, and in regard to Internet, you pale in comparison to their customer support. It never took them days to resolve a problem.
    I guess Internet services is not important enough.

    I am sorry to hear about the problems with the website. Are you still having difficulties? Please reply back if so that way we can assist further.

  • Can't access Tools/Options/Applications in FF 12.0

    Every time I try to do the following in FF 12.0, the browser stops responding/hangs/freezes/basically says "sorry, dude:"
    1. Download files either by right clicking and choosing "save" or clicking directly on it. This includes email attachments, videos, etc. I also cannot attach files to emails since the same thing happens the moment I hit "Browse."
    2. Cannot access Tools/Options/Applications, usually getting the same results. In my various attempts to resolve this, I have been able to open that window, but the space where file associations are listed is empty.
    If it's any help, when I've reverted back to FF 3.5.1.9, I can do all those things ... I just can't get "Words With Friends" to load in Facebook.
    What I have done in an attempt to correct this issue:
    1.) Everything, including deleting the various .rdf files, etc.
    2.) Tried starting in safe mode, using every possible variation.
    3.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox around a hundred times, removing personal settings and cleaning the registry each time.
    4.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and Java three or four times each.
    5.) Everything.
    I am at my wit's end, thus the request for help. Unfortunately, if someone offers a solution, I've probably tried it.
    Additional information: I did use firetune once, returned to the backup configuration I created, used it again and returned to the backup again. This seems to be right around the time the problems began, but I'm not positive.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Running WinXP Media, 512MB RAM, 32-bit, etc.

    Actually, Matt, I have tried that, but I certainly am willing to try again. Do you suggest deleting the current profile and all its settings, deleting the profile and keeping the personal settings, or just adding another complete profile in addition to the one that currently exists?

  • How to track the User who has changed the System Profile Options

    HI ,
    The system profile options are changed by one User (Ex: XX123).
    Here, the user XX123, he is not having any sys admin responsibilities .
    He is having only I-proc responsibility attached .
    Is there any chance to update the system profile options , through I-proc.

    Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions, along with which profile options have been changed.
    AFAIK, IProc responsibilities do not have access to change profile options.

  • Dynamical change read only property of  columns based on a profile option

    Hi,
    We are attempting to change a Oracle iProcurement(ShoppingCartPG) which has certain readonly columns by default.
    However, we need to make these columns updateable based on a responsibility level profile option. The code goes something like this.
    if readonly_profile_option = "TRUE"
    {make columnA property = readonly}
    else if readonly_profile_option = "FALSE"
    {make columnA property = updateable}
    I read the guide about switchers and it seems confusing (to me). So if someone can provide an example with some pseudocode that will be helpful.
    Also, can I dynamically add an LOV to column A if readonly is false? Of course the LOV should be disabled if readonly.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
    Thanks for the feedback.
    Tapash,
    Switchers definitely don't make sense.
    Raffy,
    Didn't know it was that simple. I always thought that the controller fires--> then the page renders --> then the VO attributes get poulated. Basing my understanding on this flow, I though that the bean properties can only be set in controllers and not in VOs(via SPEL). I'll try it tomorrow.
    Aprreciate your comments on the following.
    Our requirement is to make an Oracle seeded field(SupplierName in iProcurement) updateable and with an LOV . Oracle has seeded it as ReadOnly.
    I have two options.
    1. If I change the readonly property in jedeveloper(I cannot access it via personalization) and add SPEL that would be upgrade 'unsafe' customizing - I think.
    2. So I thought I'll extend the controller, substitute it and use
    messageLOVInputText SupplierNameBean=webbean.findChildRecursive("SupplierName");
    if{profle=not_read_only)
    {SupplierNameBean.setReadOnly(false)};
    else
    {SupplierNameBean.setReadOnly(true)};
    This is more upgrade safe. I have talked to the iProc development team and they are fine with it.

  • Profile option is obsolete in R12

    Hi
    We have recently migrated from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3. Before migration, certain users were able to see the output and log files submitted by other users. But now this is not working. They are not able to see the output of requests submitted by others anymore. This profile option is obsolete in R12. Is there any new profile option to replace this.

    Change the Profile Option value for Concurrent:Report Access Level. Default value for the profile is "User", which means View Output is only accessible by the particular user that submitted the request. Set it to "Responsibility", now the View Output button is enabled from responsiblity where the report is registered.This profile option is no longer used in R12 and it is replaced by RBAC -- Please see the doc referenced above for details.

  • Will the iPhone 5 support BT Message Access Profile (MAP)?

    Will the iPhone 5 support BT Message Access Profile (MAP)?

    According to this article: http://www.macworld.com/article/1167240/ios_6_features_you_might_have_missed.htm l
    It does...  I saw a photo of the relevant slide that was put up during the iOS 6 announcement, but am too lazy to look for it now.
    It's possible it may not have made it into the final release. Apple never made any statements about it as far as I know beyond the slide referenced.
    Near the end of the iOS portion of the keynote, Apple showed a slide listing a host of other features included in the iOS 6 update. Among those were Game Center challenges, the ability to connect Game Center friends from Facebook, VoiceOver improvements, personal dictionary in iCloud (for adding your own terms to the dictionary, which can sync between devices), and per-account signatures in Mail. Also on the list was improved privacy, which—as a new option in Settings—will let you control which apps can access which bits of personal data, like your Contacts, Calendar, or Photos. Other features on the list included autocorrection for every keyboard,Bluetooth MAP support (which is commonly used to help cars better offer hands-free communication with Bluetooth devices), kernel ASLR (which aims to make data even more impervious to snooping from malicious attackers), custom vibrations for alerts, redesigned stores (for the App and iTunes stores), IPv6 support for Wi-Fi and LTE, word highlights for speak selection, improved keyboard layouts, alarms with songs, and faster JavaScript in Safari. Apple also says iOS 6 includes a global HTTP proxy option, which would supplant the current approach, limited as it is to per-connection proxy settings."

  • Recommandable Profile Option PO:Workflow Processing MODE (Background/Online

    Hi
    We are using oracle11i 11.5.10.2 on windows 2000 server
    which Value is Recommendable for Profile Option PO:WORK FLOW PROCESSING MODE (BACKGROUND or ONLINE)?
    for PO Approval
    Thanks
    With Regards
    A-Z

    Hi,
    It is advisable to Set "PO:Workflow Processing Mode" profile option to "Background" which is a default value
    If you set it as Online, it completes an entire approval workflow process before letting you proceed to the next activity, but provides you with an updated Status (for purchase orders) as soon as it finishes.
    When this profile option is set to Background, you must start the Workflow Background Engine, which you access through the System/application Administrator responsibility. It is recommended that you set this process to run frequently (Schedule), if you are using it for Background mode approvals.

  • ISE Profiling options for VPN clients

    I'm trying to mull over what profiling options are available for VPN users.  I have an environment using ASA VPN in conjunction with ISE IPN to allow full posturing for VPN clients prior to allowing network access.  The use case here is we want to allow BYOD-type devices in for VPN (using software clients), but want to allow them to be exempted from ISE posturing requirements.  I don't see an easy way to distinguish these device types that cannot use the NAC agent from the O/Ses that can.  Since the mac address isn't sent to the headend, I can't use any of the traditional DHCP-based profiling criteria.  So the net effect is these devices are stuck in the "unknown" posture state and have very limited access.  Any way around this catch-22?  Incidentally DHCP profiling is on and working fine for the wireless users on the network, but doesn't help me here since I only know the machines by their mac address.

    Chris I ran into the same issue. Netflow doesn't work and use packet captures to see if anything was worth while. The only option I see is filing a enhancement request to see if the asa can send the device platform over ot ise via radius (much like the device sensor feature on ios).
    I also tried to use a span session and the catch with is that the asa doesn't assign the calling station id attribute to the tunnel ip, but the public ip the user is connecting from. So ise doesn't apply the user agent attributes to the current session.
    I was able to find a way around this by modifying the messaging via root patch to have the users click a link instead of retrying their request when they hit the cpp portal as a mobile device.

    hi ,
    You can search the table that profiles options are saved,Using the application id in that table ,you have query it....

  • Disable profile option updation at user level

    I want to disable the profile option HR: Security Profile or for that matter any other profile option at user level. The user should be able to see the value set by the system administrator (Field should be grayed out) and user should not be able to update it.
    How to do it??

    Try a personalization combined with custom PLSQL, like this:
    1) Acces System Profiles
    2) Help->Diagnostics->Custom Code->Personalize
    3) In the newly displayed Form Personalization form, create a line with a description like this: Prevent modification of USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    4) In the Conditions tab, set Trigger Event = WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
    5) Set Trigger Object = PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    6) In the Condition text area, enter:
    apps.xxror_test_sysprofile(:PROFILE_VALUES.USER_PROFILE_OPTION_NAME,'USER')=1
    7) Set Processing Mode to Both
    8) Switch to the Actions tab and create two actions:
    first:
    type = property
    description = Don't update
    Language=all
    enabled=yes
    object type=Item
    target object=PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    property name=UPDATE_ALLOWED
    value=false
    second:
    type=property
    description=Don't enter
    language=all
    enabled=yes
    object type=Item
    target object=PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    property name=ALTERABLE_PLUS
    value=false
    9) Repeat steps 3-8 if desired for other levels, such as:
    Prevent modification of SITE_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of APPL_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of RESP_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of SERVER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of ORG_VISIBLE_VALUE
    paying attention to update the corresponding names for xxx_VISIBLE_VALUE.
    10) Create the following PLSQL function:
    CREATE OR REPLACE function xxror_test_sysprofile (
    prof_opt_name in varchar2,
    lvl in varchar2
    return number
    is
    v_ret number;
    s_prof varchar2(1024);
    s_uname varchar2(100);
    s_lvl varchar2(10);
    begin
    -- returns 0 if the user "uname" must be granted access the profile named "prof_opt_name" at the "lvl" level
    -- returns 1 if the user "uname" must be forbidden to access such a profile at such a level.
    -- important assumption: the "lvl" parameter may have only one of the following values:'SITE', 'APPL', 'RESP', 'USER', 'SERVER', 'ORG'
    -- or else this function will return 1, thus forbidding the access
    s_uname:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(fnd_profile.value('USERNAME'),''))),1,100);
    if s_uname in ('MY_ADMIN_1','MY_ADMIN_2','SYSADMIN') then
    v_ret:=0; -- no restrictions
    else
         if s_uname in ('MY_POWERUSER_1','MY_POWERUSER_2') then
         -- restrict to only the below mentioned profiles
         s_prof:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(prof_opt_name,''))),1,1024);
              s_lvl:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(lvl,''))),1,10);
              if
              (s_prof like '%WHATEVER%')
              then
                   if s_lvl in ('SITE', 'APPL', 'RESP', 'USER', 'SERVER', 'ORG') then
                        v_ret:=0; -- level acceptable for these users on these profiles
                   else
                        v_ret:=1; -- unknown level, so reject
                   end if;
              else
                   -- these users may not access these profiles, so reject
                   v_ret:=1;
              end if;
         else
              if s_lvl = 'SITE' then
              -- no way any other user than those above may modify site-level profiles
              v_ret:=1;
              else
                   -- any other user than those above may modify lower-level profiles, but
                   -- for now reject all
                   v_ret:=1;
              end if;
         end if;
    end if;
    return v_ret;
    end;
    Pls be aware that testing first on a test instance is always advisable.

  • Gray out site-level profile options

    Hi All,
    Kindly let me know if there is any sql statement for graying out site-level profile otion for all the profile optinos.
    So that the dev user can only modify the profile options at user or resp level but not at the site level.
    Kindly help me out with some sql query which can gray out the site - level field at profile options.
    Thanks is advance.

    Hi,
    But they can simply login to Application Developer responsibility (assign it to themselves if they do not have it as they have access to System Administrator) and revert all the changes :)
    If each use has his/her own username, you should be able to know who is the one who updated the profile option value.
    As mentioned in my first reply, update the site updatable columns in the table, this should stop the users from updating those profile options (try this on a test/dev instance and take a backup of the table first -- please do not apply the same on your production instance).
    One other possible workaround/solution would be using forms personalization to hide the system profile option values at the site level but again if some one has the apps password and System Administrator responsibility he should be able to disable the code.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
