Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

- New cable and different USB port

Besides locking in a safe or giving it to a trusted person, all you can do is use a complex screen-lock passcode to protect your personal information. Someone still can erase the iPod by placing in recovery mode and restoring via iTunes but they will have to enter your ID and password to use the erased iPod

If i rent a movie through itunes, but do not transfer to ipad how can i download it to ipad without itunes and not be charged again?

I rented a movie via itunes and downloaded it to itunes at the time of rental. i was unable to transfer it to my ipad while connected to itunes due to a size constraint...i now have room on my ipad but am not near my itunes computer (2500 miles away), is it possible to download the movie directly from the iTunes Store to my ipad without having to rent it again and be charged a second time?

No, rentals are only allowed to be on 1 device at a time, so you would need to move it from the computer to the ipad. This applies to rentals from the computer, if rented on a device (ipad) it is only viewable on that ipad and cannot be transferred elsewhere.

HT201401 battery is not holding a charge i can see it going down with phone off and sitting on my desk, no apps are opened.

My battery charge is not lasting. No apps are being used or opened. The phone is losing power without using it. It is sitting on my desk not being used and is now reading 58%. Fully charged at 100% this morning (8:00). Help!!!!!!

1. Plug phone into AC adaptor and charge for at least 30 minutes
2. If not on, reset phone: press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
If no reponse to above, there is hardware damage and you need to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Is the iPod Touch a Phone too? what carrier does it use? Does the iPod Touch have 3G,4G any type of wifi? How does one get this hooked up? Is it hard to get hooked up to the internet using the iPod Touch?

Just for awareness, the camera in the iPod Touch is less than one megapixel. It does 720p video, but still photos are not the greatest.

And also for awareness, there is a product which attaches to the iPod Touch to give you cellular voice capabilities and (slow) internet. Since that product does require you to jailbreak your iPod Touch it can't be discussed further here.

I have an Ipod 4th gen. and when you plug it into the wall it is stuck on the charge/lighting bolt screen and it wont charge, and when you plug it into a computer (PC) the lighting screen wont even apear. Please help I have had this problem for forever.

Will not power on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

After at least 15 minutes, if the display turns on and…
The home screen appears, the device should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen: . Then disconnect the device from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears even after the iPod touch has charged for at least 20 minutes: See the "iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or low-battery image appears , continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPod touch did not turn on, reset it while connected to an Apple USB power adapter. If the display turns on, go to step 4.If the display remains black, go to the next step.

apple pretty much keeps their prices set where they are. Sometimes you may see 'old' models being discounted a bit after a new one is released...but that's not universal. Sometimes it doesn't happen.
As to when there will be an iPod 6....only Apple knows. And they ain't tellin. (not to mention that speculation about apple stuff is a forbidden topic so nothing anyone here can do)
