Accounting Document No Number Ranges

I have got a requirement wherein the client has asked for the Accounting Document Numbers has to be at Plant Level, & not the Company code level...
Kindly inform me is it possible to allocate the different Number Ranges for Plant Level

hi ASHWIN,
how many plants are there? If not too much, say less than ten, you can create separate document types for the plants. To the different document types you can assign different number ranges. On the other hand you have to write exits, that the proper document type is used in case of MIRO posting for example. You need to create validations as well, that a specific document can only be used for a specific plant (in case of manual posting).
hope this helps

  • Table for document type Number Range interval

    Hi,
I want to know the number range interval for document type in the production system but I do not have authorisation for SPRO in the prd system.
Kindly let me know the table name to check this number range interval for the document type.
Table T003 stores only the number range and not the interval.
    Thanks
    Suresh

    Hi,
The table which has document types is T003 but the number ranges are stored in a Structure IRDP. The number ranges are maintained directly in the production system.

  • Document types, number ranges in ECC 6.0

    How r u.
I have a question in ECC 6.0. When we are defining document types and document number ranges what is “Define Document types for entry view in a ledger”, “define document types for general ledger view” and “Define Document Number Rangers for General Ledger View”
    Please explain clearly
    Thanku

In New GL functionality introduced by SAP we have the concept of Leading Ledger (used by Classic GL or ledgers used before ECC) and Non Leading Ledger (multiple ledger concept). So the Document Type for these 2 Ledger types needs to be defined seperately
For Classic GL or Ledger used before ECC use the : Define Document Type for Entry View (Classic GL means GL Functionality available in R/3)
For Non Leading Ledger use: Define Document Type for Entry View in Ledger or Define Document Type for General Ledger View (Applicable only for New GL Functionality)
Similarly the above classification is also applicable for Document Number Ranges.

  • Document types - number range

    Hi Experts,
    I have following query.
I am doing project  which has three company codes and each company code has a manufacturing plant.
I have created document types for P.R., P.O.,Contract,Scheduling agreement and assigned the number ranges for the same.
Client requires that for each plant whenever any document is created in the system, it should start with the initial number and it shouls appear in sequential manner. Ex. if a P.R. is made for three plant the in each plant the P.R. number should be 1000000.
    It should not be 1000001,1000002,1000003.
Please guide me how the same can be achieved for document types of P.R., P.O.,Contract,Scheduling Agreement etc.
I there any customization for the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Aditya.

  • Sync of Material document and accounting document during MIGO

    Hi Friends,
Can we synchronize the Document numbers between Material document (WE) for GR (101) and Accounting documents created for the MIGO transaction????
We have 50 is assigned to WE. But, we have a gap in numbers of Material document number and Accounting document numbers??? though the document type WE is common for both.
I have seen that "Buffer" is the culprit. But, not sure how to fix that.
Appreciate your help in this regard.
    Dev.

When the document type is same (WE) for both, how come the accounting doc has continuous numbers and Material doc has breaks ( from buffer)????
document type WE is same for GR for material document and accounting docu but number range are stored diffrentely.
OMBT is where u store the number range for material document
and this number range is assigned to group of materia doc we wf wo ww
OMBA is where u create diffrent number range for accounting document hear U assign WE to ur transaction code and in turn WE is assigned a number range what is created in OMBA, this number range is nothing to do with number range u have created in OMBT.
when ever u post the docunemt in system
SAp hav efixed the document type for GR that is WE
it goes in OMBA in the group of Material documents for goods receipts
check what is the year and number range assigned and current number so it assignes this number first
than it go to OMBA  cheks what is the Tcode u are using and what is document type u have assigned to that tcode and it can be any WE or what ever u have assigned to that tcode
taking that doc type it goes and see what Number range is assigned say 50 and then checks company code and year for this 50 and get the number for accounting doc
so i think its is clear that material and account are 2 diffrent ranges
skiping of numbers might be due to buffer
also go throught following post it will be helpfull
    GR NO SEQUENCE - MISMATCH
    hope this helps

  • GR Company code wise Number Range

    Dear All,
I want to know is it possible to maintain material and accounting document different number range Company Code wise?
If it is so, then explain.
    Suppose Company Code 1000 -
    No range 5000000000
    & Company Code 2000---- No range  6000000000
    Thanks \
    Akshay

    Hi,
upto my knowledge number ranges are independent of company codes. even though if you have created new document types and assigned to transaction codes these tcodes will worl  independent of company code .   so its not possible to have material documents on company code wise (Material document number ranges will be on  client level)

  • Invoice and Accounting Number ranges

    Hi,
I have a requirement where the invoice number and the accounting document number should be same. Ie: If I generate an invoice with number 101. The same number should be populated for the accounting document as well.
    Regards,
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
Yes. The path is SPRO -> Sales & Dist -> Billing -> Billing Documents -> Define number ranges for billing documents.
I dont think you can have an external number range for a billing document. Infact the provision is not available in the billing document type config screen.

  • Error in purchase document number range

    good wishes sapgurus,
while creating PO via requisition assignment using t.co.me58.
      I am getting this error
*Document number range (i.e PR no.)is not within the defined number ranges*.
I have followed all the steps in this method of creating PO.
I have verified number ranges(which is defined as internal number ranges by default) defined in IMG PR Define number ranges as well as Document type   number ranges.
I seen that the PR number which i created falls within the defined number ranges.
I have tried by defining different number ranges with creating different PR's whose number range is
        within the defined number range.
But my problem is that The error message is recurring and i stuck up there
hence pls gurus help me in overcoming this error message
            thank u

    Hi Rishi,
Are you able to create PR  then u can go ahead for PO creation
1.) Hope you might be given number range as external so that system is looking for that pattern of number range, plz check thoroughly.
2.) At  the node of the define document type for PR  use standard document type NB and use the same number range so this error will not get repeat.
Please let me know for futher details
    Thanks...

  • External Number Range for Billing documents in CRM

In CRM, billing document external number range can only be numeric or alpha, but NOT alphanumeric. Is this a bug or is there some legitimate reason to have this limitation.
This question stems from a data conversion where the legacy system invoice numbers are alphanumeric. So when we try to convert those invoice numbers, CRM cannot handle the external alphanumeric number.
