Acrobat 9.3.2 crashes at every OCR attempt (Windows 7)

Title says it all. Every time I try to use OCR functionality I get a popup that says:
"Adobe Acrobat 9.3 has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
That's it.
This is EXPENSIVE software - it needs to work. Getting support is like pulling teeth.
I am very frustrated and getting increasingly frustrated with Adobe.
Any help appreciated.

Several months ago, I started working on this issue and thought that I had it resolved by uninstalling the "Internet Printing Client" from "Windows Features" (Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > expand Print and Document Services > uncheck Internet Printing Client). This change seemed to help at the time, as I was then unable to reproduce the issue and the end-user was unable to reproduce the issue for two weeks after (thus I closed the help desk case). But now it looks like the issue is back. Maybe the above setting will help someone else, but I'm now looking for a permanent fix.
PS: I have instructed our users on the "Save as PDF" option provided in Office 2010, but I don't think that is used all the time, and the PDF printer is there only option in other applications (IE for example).
Anybody had this issue and found a fix?

Acrobat 8.1.3 crashing when using OCR

We can scan in anywhere from 200 to 1000 pages and it will crash. The following error is what we receive. "Acrobat could not replace the current page with the new recognized page because of the following error. This file cannot be found. This could be due to either a low memory situation or low disk space.
I have 4 gb of memory on this machine and an 160 gb hard drive not even 1/2 full.
Anybody offering assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try scanning fewer pages. In the past, the limit was 50 pages in Acrobat. Anyway, I suspect the file size is the problem.

Adobe Illustrator CS6 crashes on every quit (on Windows 7 system)

Each time I close the program on my Windows 7 system Illustrator crashes. The program works fine while it is open and starts up just fine also, the problem on exists when closing.
After the program crashes this is what happens:

Firefox crashes on every startup on Windows 7 64-bit version.

I have a Toshiba pen-based tablet PC where I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 installed. I get the following information. I can't look at the about:crashes since Firefox won't start.

Ok I think I know the reason for this.
Toshiba provides a password plugin with their finger print manager software. After I updated my laptop with the finger print manager, Firefox stopped working, like described above.
Solution is pretty easy:
1) Boot firefox in safe-mode
2) Go into Tools->Add Ons->Extensions
3) Hit disable on the 'Automatic password input in FX 1.0' extension
4) Restart firefox in normal mode

IOS 4.2 update crashes at every update attempt.

So I'm trying to update my iPod Touch 3G but the iOS 4.2 keeps crashing iTunes once it hits the 99%. I've tried to install it manually but it tells me that it's not compatible. How do I fix this issue?

ITunes 10.5 crashes on every start attempt

I would just like to know if Apple is working on a fix. I have never had any problems with iTunes.....until I upgraded to 10.5 the other day. Since then the application has been totally unresponsive. I need this app for my work.Apple?

Turn off auto downloading for now. you have corrupt files, tmp, fragments taking up space, etc.
see how much free space you have.
Clone your entire OS or data drive or both. Paragon $19 "Clone OS" is excellent and the copy is bootable so just pull the old drive out and you should be up and running.
XP is on the EOL and so is Vista SP1. Sounds like bad drive sector and/or files to me, even a dirty OS.

Acrobat Pro 9.3 Crashes when opening multiple files

Acrobat Pro 9.3 Crashes when opening multiple files. I have not seen any solutions in forums that solves this problem. I have just done the most recent update and it still crashes.

Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 (CS5) is doing the same thing on my Windows XP SP3 with 3.5 GB of ram and 206 GB of my brand new 300 GB hard drive free.
It starting doing this at the end of last year before my hard drive died. Then after rebuilding the entire system on this new drive it worked fine, until I downloaded all the updates and now it is broken again. Anytime I open more than one PDF, Acrobat crashes. I send the error report every time.

Acrobat 8.1 Always Crashes with "admplugin.apl" reference??

I've tried everything, but Acrobat wants to close when I do any kind of manipulation -- "Optimizing" or adjusting "Document Propereties" and always indicates a problem with "admplugin.apl" file.
I've reinstalled Acrobat, but no help. Happens with every PDF file. I've found a half-dozen other messages about this, but no solutions. A "TechNote" said to exit "SpySweeper" but that didn't help.
If I call and pay Adobe technical support for help, you think any chance they could help? Thanks. Oh, I have "Creative Suite 3" Design Premium on Win XP.

I just did a fresh and clean installation of Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop (new partition, new format), and after I've installed 8.1.4 patch on Acrobat, it crashed, and kept crashing. I kept trying to update to see if Adobe had corrected this error, but to no avail. I just used your trick and it's working great!
You just saved me a headache by averting me on buying Acrobat 9! I hate doing upgrades (even on Windows, which is why I went retail instead of the upgrade)
I don't know if Adobe certified Acrobat 8.1.X for Windows 7, but far as I can tell it's working great. I even used the PDF distiller on a webpage to be saved in a PDF file, and that's working too.

I installed firefox beta 5 and flash crashed on every page so i reverted back to firefox 4 and now flash crashes on every page of firefox 4. how can i fix it?

well i fixed this for a bit by reinstalling ff4 and restarting but now the firefox 4 that i re-downloaded continues to very aggressively update itself to 5 beta without asking me. it just notifies me once its done it telling me to restart and once i close firefox, boom. flash crashes every minute or so and freezes my computer. When I called the support at AT&T they think the phone is shot and it is a hardware thing but i have a hard time believing that when it happened when I sync'd it to my computer. It did get progressively worse though, at first it crashed not that often and then got worse. So restores are failing, recovery, everything. Anyone run into this?

Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when closing a pdf

Adobe acrobat pro 9.2 crashes in windows xp sp3 when I close a pdf. This means that if I have multiple files open, all of them close. I get an error message from windows that the problem is due to windows' Data Execution Prevention (DEP). I tried making Adobe an exception to windows' DEP and re-started the computer but this did not help the problem. Any ideas about how to fix this problem?

So.. If we want to control the "hardware graphics acceleration", should it be done inside the Adobe Acrobat Pro ?
If yes, which part of option should we changed ?
If not, can someone tell me which way to setting this one ?
Do anybody have other input ? This problem makes me crazy

Acrobat 9.0 Pro crashes when trying to edit fields

Acrobat 9.0 Professional crashes when I try to edit or add text fields. I am running Windows Vista. All other functions of Acrobat work.

There was an update this last week, taking the current version to 9.3.2. The early versions often have little bugs like you describe, so an update is the first thing to try. If you download the updates from Adobe.com (the downloads>updates page), be sure to download all of them and then install them in order. If you use the updates under help, you can usually update the lowest number one they show and return for any further updates.

Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4 Crash.

I'm having an odd issue with computers that I deployed Adobe CS5.5 to recently using AAMEE 2.1, OSX 10.7.4. I just recently pushed out the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4 update using Munki.. On a large percentage of our computers where CS5.5 was deployed using an AAMEE 2.1 built package, Acrobat will open, then crash within about 15 seconds in, with no error message. Then the red Adobe Application Manager/PDApp icon bounces in the dock for three seconds, then closes. After sorting this all out, here is a PDApp log capture of what is going on when Acrobat crashes:

I've opened other CS5.5 apps and they all seem to be okay, except for Acrobat. Is there anything I can do to fix this without a total uninstall and re-install? I'm not seeing this error in two labs where the CS5.5 package I deployed was built using a JAMF Composer Snapshot, rather than AAMEE 2.1

I have now come across the same symptoms after deploying the Adobe Acrobat X Pro v10.1.6 security update. The target systems experiencing problems generally have Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium installed.
I have tried replacing/upgrading the Adobe Application Manager v7, reactivating CS5.5 via the command line tool, and upgrading Adobe Photoshop to v12.1.1.
So far, Acrobat X Pro v10.1.6 continues to launch and quit, AAM launches and quits, and the same log messages noted above are written. Has anyone found a working solution to get around this?

To see the behavior create a short Word 2007 document with a linked Visio file (e.g., create a Visio file with one box and text and insert it as a link into a Word docx).
No problem in Acrobat 9

There may be some of an issue with AA X on this, but part of the blame probably goes to MS also. I would suggest you simply clip the graphic from VISIO as a vector graphic (EMF will be used by default) and not do the link and do not embed the VISIO object. The linking and use of embedded objects in WORD 2007 seems to have been a major problem and is mostly a MS issue.
