I am currently unable to save a scanned document to PDF after scanning. I choose save or save as and nothing happens. No screen pops up asking where to save the scanned document.
Windows 7 64bit and 32bit, Kodak Scanner I30 I40, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. Any help would sure be appreciated.

I am sorry. Thought I was very clear. Where this is taking place is in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. I assumed you would know I was trying to save the scanned document to  PDF after using the create a PDF from a scanner. That is why I listed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. I am able to print the scanned document to a PDF. This is happening on multiple machines with the configurations I listed in my first question. Windows 7 64bit and 32bit, Kodak Scanner I30 I40, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. Enough Information?

  • Hey, q about scanning documents to pdf.

    Hello all
I want to scan documents to pdf, everday we have about 400 documents shipping documents from our waerchouse and we want to archivizate them in pdf. We need a programm who can scan this documents to pdf and write them in seperate files, on the documents are barcodes, the barcodes could be used to seperate the document. PLZ help and sry for me English.

If you have a scanner, it should come with its own scanning software.  Alternatively you can download it from the manufacturer's website.
You can also use Adobe Acrobat to scan documents, which allows you to do text recognition (OCR).  However, I have found that the original scanning software allows you much more functions than Acrobat does.

  • Convert scanned document into PDF

I have PDF Pack and am trying to convert a scanned document to PDF and ultimately to MS Word.  How is this done?

    Hi georges,
If the ultimate goal is a Word document, I would recommend against the additional step of converting to PDF first, if possible. What scanning  software are you working with? Does it save in a format that Word can open?
If you don't have access to the scanning software, and saving to PDF is your only option, then you would use ExportPDF (part of Adobe PDF Pack) to convert the PDF file Word. (To convert the file to PDF, choose Create PDF on the menu bar when you're logged in to PDF Pack at https://cloud.acrobat.com.)

  • Saving Scanned Documents as PDF's

I have a new HP Officejet L7590 All in one printer. My last
HP 6210 had an option in the "Scan To" window under the "File
Type"/"Save As" drop down menu for PDF's. My new HP only has "Save

  • Acrobat - Convert Office documents to PDF so that it is crawled/indexed by SharePoint search

    Hi there,
This is a hybrid question between Acrobat and SharePoint and I'll post on both forums....
    Background:
In a fairly complex application we have a publishing server that utilizes Acrobat to convert Office documents to PDF using the Convert to PDF functionality.
We then publish that PDF to a library in SharePoint.  We would like to have those published PDFs searchable by SharePoint search.  Unfortunately there is something about these PDFs where SharePoint cannot crawl the content.
Note:  I do realize that PDFs are not indexable by SharePoint out of the box and I have installed and configured the iFilter utility.  I have been able to index and search for other PDFs, so I know the mechanism works.  It just seems to be these
    particular PDFs.
I have also manually "Saved as PDF" directly from Word/Excel and those PDFs are crawled by SharePoint....it just seems to be when Acrobat does its conversion.  I'm sure it's just a simple configuration somewhere... I just don't know what I'm
    looking for.
Another note:  When I open the published PDFs, I am able to use Acrobat's search to find the text.... and the text is selectable; so it's not as if the conversion changed it to an image.
So....would anyone happen to have encountered this issue?  Or does anyone know what makes a PDF indexable by SharePoint search?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that the PDFs which are converted from Office documents by Acrobat cannot be crawled in your SharePoint 2010.
For your issue, please make sure these PDFs version is 1.5(Acrobat 6.x) or above.
You can take steps as below for verifying:
Open your PDF using Adobe Reader.
    Go to File -> Properties.
Check the PDF Version under Advanced section.

  • Acrobat Help | Creating and distributing PDF forms

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/creating-distributing-pdf-forms.html

Unless I am reading this incorrectly, in Acrobat Help, webpage http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/acrobat/using/creating-distributing-pdf-forms.html, it looks like step 5 under header "Distribute (send) forms to recipients" is incomplete. Step 5 ends with "...do one of the following:" and that is simply followed by a notation, not two steps.

  • Scan document to PDF Preview

I have scanned some pages in as PDF's. How do I get it so I can "mark them up" you know.....highlight words or underline. I have done it on PDF's that people have emailed me. But I cannot seem to do it on ones that I scan in. Any thoughts???

Some programs will OCR the scanned image. I don't know which ones support which file formats.
If your scanner software outputted a PDF, I am surprised that it wasn't converted to text by default.

  • How can I scan a document to PDF in Windows 7 Professional

I have a Canon MX892 which I previously used with Windows XP. I was able to scan documents to PDF very easily using the Canon Solutions Menu EX.  I am now using Windows 7 Pro 64. I downloaded the associated version of Canon Solutions Menu EX, but it is completely different from the Windows XP with far less functionality.  Is there some way to scan documents to PDF with Windows 7 Pro?

    Hi daberg,
There is a program called MP Navigator that comes with the printer that can assist you with scanning a document in as a PDF file.  Once you are in the MP Navigator program, please follow these steps to scan and save a document in PDF format:
     1.  When MP Navigator opens, click on the ONE-CLICK option at the top of the window.
     2.  Click on the SAVE AS PDF FILE button.
     3.  Place the document you want to scan on the Platen, then select your Document Type (either Color or Black and White Photo or Document), Size, and Resolution.
     4.  In the FILENAME section, the default name for the file will be IMG; you can change this to something else if you would like by highlighting the IMG and then typing over it.
     5.  In the SAVE IN section, you will see the folder path and location that the file will be saved to when you scan it; if you would like to change the location, please click on the SPECIFY button and select the location where you would like the file saved to.
     6.  Below the SAVE IN section, there is a checkbox titled SAVE TO A SUBFOLDER WITH THE CURRENT DATE.  If you leave this checkbox checked, then whatever folder location you select will have a folder with the current date of the scan placed in it, and inside of the currently dated folder will be the file that you scanned.  If you do not want to have the program create the subfolder, please uncheck that box.
     7.  Click the green SCAN button.  Scanning starts.  When scanning is completed, the file will be saved in the location you specified.
     8.  You can then close out of the MP Navigator program and go to the location where you specified the file to save.  You should find the PDF file in that location.
    Hope this helps!
