Acrobat standard 6 user defined bookmark from word 2003

Hi..
I've been trying to convert word 2003 documents to pdf using acrobat standard 6. All seems fine except the user defined bookmarks in the word document.
The bookmarks work fine from the bookmark pane but when accessing them through the hyperlinks within the document the destinations are wrong. The pointer will jump to the page it is in or maybe 1-2 two pages adjusent to the page the bookmark actually is in.
Can someone help me with fixing this problem?
Cheers!

Steven,
If it happened after an uninstall as you indicated, you may have to go to the add/remove in the control panel and do a repair on Acrobat. If the printer works, then you need to check that PDF Maker also works (it uses the printer). Asking about the printer was the first check and it passed.
I am not good at the PDF Maker options, but looks like that is the problems.
For MrEclipseguy, you need to be looking at the same options. Check things out in WORD first and then play with the other part. In WORD, there are issues with enabling the toolbar that is highlighted in other topics. I do not remember the solution.

  • Import bookmarks from word 2003 into PDF

    Hello guys,
my english is not the best but i will try my best :-)
    My enviroment:
    Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with XenApp 6, Office 2003 SP3 and Adobe Acrobat 9.
    My problem:
I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 without Adobe Tabs / PlugIns for Office.
One user write a document in Word 2003 with many bookmarks. He try to convert the document into a PDF. But after converting the bookmarks are not included in the PDF.
He try to convert the document over the PDF printer and in Acrobat over create -> pfd from file. Both ways are not working.
So now my question: Is there any way to convert a doc into a PDF without using the Adobe Tabs / PlugIn for Office?
    Thanks a lot.

    - Open Word 2003, you should see a "Adobe PDF" or "Acrobat" menu item.
    - Select the option to change preferences
    - Select the Bookmarks tab
    - Select the option to convert Word Bookmarks

  • I can't create pdf files from word 2003 files in acrobat 9 pro any more

Until recently, i was able to make pdf files from word 2003 documents using the "create pdf from file" in acrobat 9 pro. Combining several word documents into 1 pdf was also a piece of cake.
Now, this doesn't work any longer. If i want to select the files, office 2003 files are no longer listed in the supported file formats.
    See the picture below

Try running a Repair Installation on Acrobat (via the Help menu).

  • Broken PDF Bookmarks from Word doc with Headings

This used to work with older versions of Acrobat Pro (I have the latest version of Acrobat 8 pro). I just author a Word doc which has headings, and then I use the Acrobat menu in Word to create the PDF, making sure "Create Bookmarks from Word Headings"is selected.
The resulting PDF does indeed have the PDF Bookmarks there correctly, but they do not point to the locations of the headings in the actual document. In other words, they're not really bookmarking anything.
Can someone confirm the workflow that is supposed to ensure the bookmarks will actually point to the heading locations? What else could be wrong?
Thanks in advance! Attaching source word file (rename xml extension to docx) and resulting PDF file.
    SK

Thanks Bill. I am using 8.1.4, and Word 2007. Don't really want to downgrade though (it's been around for several years now). One thing I've been wanting to try is re-installing to the latest PDFMaker COM Add-in (PDFMOfficeAddin.dll), but I don't know how to. The add-remove programs doesn't seem to allow me to re-install individual components.
Just to confirm, the PDF bookmarks are meant to point to the Word heading locations, correct? I was wondering if you could try converting the Word file (just rename the .xml extension to .docx), and looking at the resulting PDF bookmarks. If they work as expected for you, then it's definitely something about my particular system configuration.
The Word headings to PDF bookmarks feature is so basic, and Word 2007 has been around for several years now, if there was a problem with it I'm sure there would be a fix from Adobe by now.
    Thanks for any further insights!

  • Any Issues Upgrading from Word 2003 to 2007?

Hello. We have the option in my department to upgrade from
Word 2003 to Word 2007. My team still has some help projects in
RoboHelp for Word. Before we decide to upgrade, I was wondering if
anyone else using RoboHelp 7 (for Word) has upgraded to Microsoft
Word 2007, and if they have encountered any issues. Thanks for any
    input.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback, everyone. Here's an
update, just fyi. I loaded Office 2007 today, and seem to be
encountering one of the issues described by David Hurlston. When I
try to create a new popup, it takes a little over one minute for
the Insert Popup window to appear. Then when I select the topic to
which I want to link and click OK, it takes another 10 seconds or
so for the link to appear.
I also received the "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a
problem and needs to close" error five times in the past hour, when
just trying to add new topics. I ran Microsoft Office Diagnostics,
and it was unable to diagnose the cause of the crash. I'm using
RoboHelp for Word 7.0, Build 7.02.001. (I have the full Adobe
Technical Communication Suite with all of the latest updates
installed, and just loaded Office 2007 today, along with all of the
    latest Windows and Office updates.)
This is the perfect time for our team to upgrade to Office
2007 since we're at the very beginning of a release, so I'm going
to continue testing to see if I can figure out why it's a bit
sluggish and why it's crashing. I just wanted to follow up on my
original post in case any of this info is helpful.
On a semi-related note... I'm usually pretty good about
finding my way around in new user interfaces, but it took me about
ten minutes to figure out how to access the Insert Popup window
(due to the new Word UI). If anyone knows of a handy reference
guide for people upgrading to RoboHelp for Word 2007, let me know.
I checked the LiveDocs for RoboHelp for Word, but the version I
found currently contains the old icons I'm used to. (I'm hoping to
find some type of quick reference that explains where to find
things that have moved and/or changed icons. I found a great
interactive tool on Microsoft's site, but it seems to be specific
to Word docs, without addressing the RoboHelp-specific options.)
Thanks again for all the input!

  • How do I save bookmarks from word to pdf?

How do I save bookmarks from word to pdf?

    Eustace Mendis wrote:
Not convinced it can't be done... but then I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to do.
I believe what the original poster wants to do is preserve the bookmarks of a Word file into the interactive bookmarks feature of the PDF specification, so that the bookmarks appear as a clickable linked table of contents when that Word file is converted to PDF. You see this in every ebook or iBook. This is easy to do when converting Word to PDF in Microsoft Windows, but I am not sure it is possible from Mac Word because everybody complains about it on the Mac side.
Converting bookmarks to a clickable PDF TOC is easy to do in other software on the Mac, like InDesign. Apple Pages might do it too, but I'm not sure.

  • Abobe v8: Problems with converting from word 2003 to PDF

I use one of those free conversion tools, since i am a student. My problem is that i have a word document with a unique page margin. When i convert from word 2003 to pdf everything gets converted except the page margin which is much bigger then it's supposed to be. Do anyone know how i can fix that?, any help are appriciated.
    Kindly Erik

You cannot fix anything in Reader. If you have a problem with the tool
used to create your pdf, please ask in their forum.

  • I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC andf upgraded from Acrobat XI. When I instalkled it on my PC the print Production Tools were there and functional. I installed it on my Laptop and those tolls are not there. What do I need to do to have Print Pro

I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC andf upgraded from Acrobat XI. When I instalkled it on my PC the print Production Tools were there and functional. I installed it on my Laptop and those tolls are not there. What do I need to do to have Print Production Tools on both computers?

This is quite odd. I wonder if you could try something for me on EACH computer.
Use Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC.
At the top of the box it should say Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.
On each of the two machines, what does it say? (I think something odd has happened)

  • Calling PL/SQL user defined functions from ODI Constraints

    Hi All,
We are trying to call user defined PL/SQL functions from ODI. We are able to call them from ODI's User functions. But when we are trying to call them from ODI Constraints under Models, it is throwing an error 'ORA-00920 invalid relational operator'. Kindly let me know if anyone has faced the same issue and got the resolution for the same. Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Abhishek Sharma

    Hi Ace,
Thanks for the response, the same error was coming in operator also.
I am able to call PL?SQL user defined functions from ODI Constraints. We have to first call ODI User functions from the ODI constraints as we cant call PL/SQL function (compiled in database) directly.
From the ODI User functions, we can then call the PL/SQL functions.
Please reach out to me if you need further details reg this.

  • Importing tables from Word 2003 into Robohelp for word ^

Does anyone know how to import tables and boxex from Word
    2003 nicely into Robohelp 6

You can capture the table from your original word.doc and
save the image as either a bmp or gif file. In robohelp, insert the
picture where you want it to be located at. Have the table act as
    an image.

  • Conversion from Word 2003 changed format

Converted a manuscript from Word 2003 to PDF. The PDF changed the format/margins slightly, resulting in different pagination. How do I work around that?

Most likely what has happened is that the PDF printer resolution is different than your default printer. While you are editing the DOC file, change the printer to the Adobe PDF printer and go through the WORD file to get the pages the way you want. Then the resultant PDF should be the same. WORD usually reflows and document to best flow for the selected printer. So if you change the printer before you print (or select PDF Maker), then WORD reformats the document for output. This is the difference between a word processor and a layout program.

  • How to Pass User-defined Parameters from Forms to Reports

Hi!I am trying to launch an existing report from a form then spool it into a PDF file. I have been successful in passing the report properties using SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY built-in and I am also able to launch the report using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in. My problem is, I cannot seem to pass the user defined parameters from my form to the report eventhough I am using the same variable names.
this is a part of my code:
    repid := Find_Report_Object('ACPPRACS');
    Set_Report_Object_Property(repid, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,BATCH);
    Set_Report_Object_Property(repid, REPORT_DESTYPE,FILE);
    Set_Report_Object_Property(repid, REPORT_DESNAME,'C:\TMP\ACS01.PDF');
    Set_Report_Object_Property(repid, REPORT_DESFORMAT,'PDF');
    Set_Report_Object_Property(repid, REPORT_OTHER,'PF_NBO_CD='| |'"'| |:acs.nbo| |'"');
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
Hope you can help me soon. Thanks!

first of all u will create a paramlist
    then add_paramter to this list
and then pass this list to the report
    by using run_product.
    i think this is all.

  • Acrobat 9 will not import bookmarks from Word 2000

I have a customer who creates sophisticated Word 2000 documents including bookmarks. When converting to Acrobat using 8 professional, the bookmarks convert fine. They are there and point to the correct locations. She insisted that she needed 9 Professional because it handles creating text and check boxes much more efficiently, but 9 will not bring over the bookmarks from the very same document. Our current solution is to have 8 and 9 on the pc simultaneously, create the document in 8, then open it again in 9 to modify all the input fields.
This happens for all users, local admin or not. I have uninstalled, cleaned out the registry, installed, upgraded, used different profiles, etc. and the result is always the same.
What could possibly be causing this? I have checked all the bookmark settings from within Word, and they are all correct. I've searched everywhere, and apparently no one else on Earth is experiencing this issue.

Acrobat 9 does not work with MS Office 2000, Acrobat PDF-capable web browsers and PDFMaker-compatible applications (Acrobat 6.x - 9.x on Windows and Mac OS) .

  • Acrobat Pro 9.2 crops text when converting from Word 2003

When converting a Word 2003 file to PDF, using either PDF Maker or directly from Pro 9, the converted file crops a few lines of text at the top of some pages. Converting the same file by just printing to PDF is a work around, but this method does not create bookmarks, so is not preferable.
I create an updated version of a particular file monthly, using the old file as a basis.  The file will always have tracked changes in Word which are all accepted before converting the file, and the file always has a watermark, which is removed in Word and the file saved before converting to PDF.
Now here's the weird thing, if I remove the watermark in Word, save the file and convert to PDF, the cropping occurs.  But if I leave the watermark in the saved file, convert to PDF and remove the watermark in Acrobat, no cropping occurs! This is an OK work around too but I'd rather not have to do the workaround at all.
I've tried all the variations and settings I can think of, but I still end up working around the problem every month.
    Any ideas?

    They won't show up unless
you have click on each text box
    Go  Format  > Shape
    click on lines
chose desired line color for the borders.
once the Borders a colored they will show up in the created PDFs.

  • Links not creating in Acrobat 8 from Word 2003

IT Admin here - I have a laptop, freshly reinstalled with XP Pro and all XP/Office2003/Acrobat8.3.1 updates, due to this one problem.
There are 2 laptops, one can create hyperlinks, the other cannot.
The document is basically an Index on a fileserver that links to other documents on the same fileserver in various folders.
The Word file is around 14 pages @ 600k using relative linking.
The PDF is created, the links show as blue and underlined; but there are no actionable items, just text.
All the settings on both laptops seem to be the same.
Both run the same versions of XP, Office, and Acrobat Standard.
I've googled the issue to no end. I've double-checked so many setting that my eyes want to bleed.
I've dealt with the Word data & add-in registry entries.
I have played with the normal.dot file before and after the complete reinstall.
There are only 2 fonts, TNR and Arial.
Conversion settings is checked for adding links to pdf.
We do not use the "print to pdf", we always run the full conversion with the intent to make the links work.
We've tried starting conversion from both Word and Acrobat.
But it takes the 600k word file and makes an 89k pdf with no links, where the other laptop makes a 700k pdf with links.
    Argh!
    What am I missing?

The object is a png "frame" that allows the images to match the design elements in the header of the page. I am building out the design here:
Adept Digital | Small Business Web Development
I have figured out how I will make this animation responsive along with the rest of the objects on the page, I just need to get it to function the way I want.
I have an assortment of image rotation options available but I want to apply motion tweens and links to the images so it has a more dynamic look and feel. I am hoping that the time and energy I have put into learning Flash will not be wasted since it seems that it is becoming a dinosaur in the web design industry. I really enjoy working with it but I had to leave it ever since Apple blocked it from working on it's devices. My hope is that with this more recent version of Flash CC the bugs have been worked out enough to make it useable again for small business web development.
As it stands now the entire process for getting the coding to work is far too annoying and buggy to bother with, but like I said I have devoted too much time to this to write it off without a final look. If I cannot get an object in Flash to operate as a simple link, then what is the worth of the CreateJS tool? Pretty animations without functionality?
I am unfamiliar with what you mean by "interactiveobject defined". Please explain?
The links are testers that are going to be replaced with links both within this site and to other sites that I want to open in a new tab/window. This is a proof of concept exercise looking to verify that this will work on Apple devices before I trust it to include it in my workflow. If I cannot have a single image do multiple things, then why should I bother with Flash at all?
    Thanks for the help.
