Acrobat Updater Error 1300

Hi,
I have Adobe Acrobat Std 9.2 installed on an Acer tablet running Windows 8 Professional. When I attempt to install the 9.5.4 update, I receive the following message: "Cannot install the update. Please run Adobe Acrobat Repair. Error: 1300"
I have already tried installing the Adobe Acrobat Updater and removing and completely reinstalling Acrobat Standard on the tablet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can not typically update in one step, but by installing each update up to where you are going to end. It is not clear how you are trying to update. The typical was is from Help>Updates in Acrobat. If there are more than one, install them in order. I am not that sure what you will see since I typically download the updates separately. However, I think that what you are offered with this approach are typically cummulative sets that skip some of the downloads I indicate below.
You can also download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (similar for MAC). In the latter case you need to install each update in order unless the download indicates otherwise (you should be able to skip 9.3.1&4 and 9.4.1&3&4&7 - easy to check by starting at the top and checking prior versions required). After each update you can generally continue and only reboot after the last one.
I suspect this multiple update issue is the problem you are having.

  • Installing Acrobat Update error 1013

I received an Adobe Acrobat update this morning, and tried to install it.
Towards the end of the process, I received an error alert (1013).
Checking with Adobe, their recommendation was to enable the root user to complete the installation.
Checking with Apple, there were three different articles about enabling the root user, and each one of their instructions referred to
"Add" or "Edit" buttons in the System Preferences/Users and Groups/Login Items.
There are no such buttons or menus in the Login Items window.
Apple's instructions refer to items that don't exist in the Login Items window.
How do I enable the root user?
    please advise.
    Thanks

Apple instructions are missing a step: they do not instruct the user to "Login Options" in the Users & Groups Menu, where Network Account Server lives, and the "Join...." button is located.

Running into the same issue over here. It seems like it has to do with applying a transform to the installation, so it could be related with a particular setting put in place using the Adobe Customization Wizard.
It's really kind of hit or miss, because it appears to affect those with previous versions of Acrobat or Reader installed, but that isn't always the case.
Had this happen to systems that haven't had any sort of Adobe product installed prior.
It's always the same thing too. Error 1603 is spit out after it can't remove select files in C:\Windows\Installer
After digging through the system, the files that it's looking to delete aren't even there to begin with.

  • Adobe Acrobat Update Error 1612

I work in IT and I am trying to get Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.3.3 to update to the security patch, 9.3.4.  It is not working at all.  It comes up and says it will download and install but comes up with this:
When I click details it sends me to this link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/852/cpsid_85258.html
This was no help at all as my error code was not even included.  I have tried uninstalling the program and a pop-up box comes up that says the same thing as the window above.  I tried running a repair or reinstalling it with the same result.  Please Help!  I need a solution so that I can get this updated and know what to do if this continues to be an issue.
    Thanks!
    Nate

You can try to validate all values in the SourceList registry under the key that looks like the one below:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\68AB67CA3301004F7706000000000000
Depending on the flavor of the Acrobat installed on your system, it may look a bit different, but
68AB67CA3301004F7706000000000000 portion always starts from 68AB67......
By validate I mean you need to make sure that all referenced pathes exist.
There is one more file that Windows Installer Service is relying on - this file is the original AcroPro.msi or AcroStd.msi file cached in the C:\Windows\Installer folder and renamed to something like 9f32196.msi (numbers are random)
For Acrobat Pro it should be around 6 MB - almost the same size as in the original installer package.
Double check that the file exists.
If it does not help, your best bet is to cleanup Acrobat from the system using recommended tools and start over.
Do not delete any files manually - it will corrupt your system further.

  • Acrobat updater error

I got error message while installing Acrobat 9.0 "adobe updater install manager has stopped working" working on Windiws 7 64-Bit.

Forget the update feature built into Acro bat and go to Adobe.com>downloads>updates and download ALL of the updates for AA9.0. Then install them in order. That way you will always have them available if issues in the future require a reinstall.

  • Acrobat update Error 1513

    Situation:

An error occurred. Please check for updates again later. Error: 1513
After the first time this happend I've wiped the harddrive and installed everything fresh. There are no other applications yet installed other than MacOS and CS5.
    Any help welcome.

I've downloaded the manual installer but at the section where I have to select the existing Acrobat folder to upgrade I couldn't select anything.
In the end I deleted the current Acrobat installation and re-installed it again. And then the autmoatic updater just started working. No idea why, but hey it's working now.

  • Acrobat X Pro: Check for Updates Error 1007 Updates have been disabled by your system policy

Because of another Acrobat problem (I won't go into here), today I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 10.1.9 and re-installed Acrobat 10.0.0. I thought I could get back to 10.1.9 by selecting "Check for Updates" after installation. My system is Win7x64 and I'm running as a named user with Administrator rights on a machine that is not part of domain.
When I select "Check for Updates", I receive a window titled "Adobe Acrobat Updater" that says "Update failed Updates have been disabled by your system policy. Error: 1007 <Close>" About ten seconds later, Acrobat X terminates, leaving this window hanging around.
What do I do to enable checking for updates?

Thanks Bill@VT and LeoAdobeX. It's still not working though.
Over the last few days, Windows System Restore says I have done 4 (four) Remove/Install Pairs. I tried the helpful cleaner you suggested. I knew I probably had some Acrobat9 cruft, so I ran the Acrobat9 and Reader9 cleaners, then the AcrobatX cleaner (I never had ReaderX). I also uninstalled absolutely every Adobe program from my system: Flash Player (three versions), iFilter, Adobe AIR, Amazon Music Importer (relies on Adobe AIR).
I tried it both as 10.0.0, and installing 10.0.0 and then the 10.1.9 MSP you pointed me to at the "update link" above. I installed as "Trial" mostly, but once with my registration key.
Starting up Acrobat X still fails epically. Also, every time I've looked, it hasn't solved the "other Acrobat problem" that initiated all of this.
The most that I've received from Acrobat X today is the splash screen came up once. Only once. Even after a restart of Windows 7, launching AcrobatX from the Start Menu, Desktop or even directly from the EXE under "Program Files (x86) does nothing. I thought it might just be slow the last time, so I took a 15 minute coffee break after attempting to launch. Nothing.
Ergo, I am looking at Windows System Restore. I miss two days of not being able to read PDF's even if the "other Acrobat problem" remains.
However, I got a whiff that I have another problem headed my way. I bought update version of Acrobat9 and AcrobatX. I've now wiped all traces of Acrobat9 (and will shortly do another wipe of AcrobatX). The Cleaner log reports "** Info : Installed product not found for upgrade code". The MyAdobe website has all my install codes back to Acrobat4, but I'm not sure I could locate my Adobe 4 CDROM or the intervening CDROM's that would be required to source me back to a full version (maybe Acrobat6?).
As I understand it, System Restore will do many things but not actually install the program files that I've been writing and deleting from my disk over the last two days. So, I'm going to have to do some install of AcrobatX after I do the System Restore and I now have little hope that even that installation will work to "just put things back the way they were".
Is AcrobatX supported on Windows7x64 Ultimate? Is there some place to track down what may be the "issues due to the 64-bit system"?
I have checked the policies under Control Panel->Administrator and there is more to check there. My account is a member of Administrators, which I would think would give me the rights to do just about anything, but when I click on the "Local Security Policy" shortcut, I get a "Group Policy Error: Failed to open the Group Policy Object on this computer. You may not have the appropriate rights. <Close> Details: Unspecified error". I'll chase this down if the System Restore does not make this error go away, but this part is clearly not a problem with Adobe software. All of the Other Admin/MMC Tools like Computer Management open fine.
Thank you very much for the responses. I found them to be very helpful but I still feel I've got a big problem ahead.

  • Error:1602 , Adobe Acrobat Updater - Update Failed

My operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
After installing Creative Suites 4 and downloading updates, I received an Acrobat Updater notification that Updates were available.
I clicked on the Adobe Acrobat Updater icon and ultimately got the following Error.
Adobe Acrobat Updater, Update Failed, Error:1602
This was solved by going to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.2\ARM
I deleted the contents of the ARM folder and then ran "Check for Updates" from Adobe Acrobat. This re-populated the ARM folder with the correct folder and files. Updater ran and I followed the instructions to restart my computer and now it works well.

  • Error Message reads: "Adobe Acrobat Updater Certificate failed to install."

I am unable to make any updates to my Adobe programs (including creative suite CS3). Everytime I try, I type in my password, but I always get the same error message: Adobe Acrobat Updater Certificate failed to install.
I believe this is happening because I actually inherited my Adobe programs, including the MacBook Pro the programs are installed on. The owner used to be a relative who, sadly, passed away. I thought I had changed everything to be under my name as the owner, but having never done it before it's possible I missed something? Perhaps my relative's name is still recognized as the owner?
Please help as this is wreaking havoc in many "little" ways...
    Thanks.

Had the same problem. Found two updaters on the computer. Go to "applications/utilities/adobe utilities". Threw away the folder "Adobe Updater5". Ran the "Adobe Updater6/Adobe Updater.app". Problem gone.
