Acrobat Web Capture cannot convert javascript links...?

In Matrix (Multiple Listing Service) Acrobat Adobe 10 Standard won't convert javascript links in newly created PDFs Documents from Matrix.   The Error message is : Acrobat Web Capture cannot convert javascript links and the link often does not work correctly when opened in the web browser...
Is there any javascript download or work around program that can fix this problem?
Thanks

Probably not. Pretty hard for Acrobat to handle all of the web JavaScript and possible function calls that could appear on a web page and be located in another directory.
If this is important to you, you can use the bug report/feature request page at adobe.com..

  • Adobe Web Capture

    Hi,
I'm having a problem using Adobe Web Capture to convert Portal screens to PDF format as it only captures certain parts of the screen and the layout of the screens gets mixed up.
Any idea on how i can get a perfect screen capture using Adobe Web Capture?
    Thanks in advance,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
I use regular print screen and it works fine.
The problem might be that portal takes away certain parts of the display if you try to print it, it could be similar with Adobe Web Capture?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended Web Capture Problem

There are three different ways to convert a web page to .pdf that I am aware of.  I have used the first for several years but it has stopped working.  The second now has corrupt fonts.  The third still works.  I have repaired Acrobat to no avail - does anyone have an idea of what might have happened?

Since there were no answers, I will take a stab at a reponse. For the 2nd method, I suspect you could simply select the print or press job options to get the desired results or turn off "use local fonts" in Acrobat. If you check the font list, the fonts are probably not embedded and that is likely the problem.
I noticed that you have both Reader and Acrobat installed and that might cause some conflict, but should not be the issue here. If you were to uninstall Reader, you would have to repair Acrobat. The conflict here is that you might have problems with the one opening when you want the other. If it works for you, then don't worry about it.
For technique 1, I suspect you may be using IE 9 that has apparently been a problem since it came out. I have refused to install it. However, it may simply be that PDF Maker does not work correctly with your browser, or got deactivated and needs to be allowed to run in your browser (IE I am assuming).

    hi WDWPhishFan,
Have you looked at [[The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed]] and [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]?
The first article has a lot of good troubleshooting steps that might help. The second article actual lists a couple of plugins that can be used for opening PDF files. I'd give both of them a try just in case.
    Hopefully this helps!

Cannot convert webpages to pdf using Acrobat X Pro with IE9 and Windows 7, worked fine until a few months and updates ago

I tried your suggestion, not knowing that the direct pdf printer would also "save as" PDF, but when I try your suggestion and use the Adobe PDF printer that is a direct creation of the PDF from the browser (IE9), instead of the "black out" areas I get when I use the "Convert to" button, I get missing blocks of the resulting PDF, and only get the first 1/4 to 1/3 of the webpage.
Just to clarify, when I said I print the webpage and then scan, that is a work around I have to do if I need a scanned version of the way a webpage appears on a particular date and time, instead of the one step process I used to be able to do when Adobe Acrobat would actually convert the webpage to a pdf without blackout areas or, if I try your suggestion, blank spots with a partial webpage. But the idea was one I had not thought of and I appreciated the thought.
Yes, Acrobat was updated, and is updated, and was working fine until a few months ago, Win 7 and Office 32 bit versions, Office 2010

  • Remove links from a Web Capture

Is it possible to remove all/disable links within a PDF created using Web Capture?  This feature is so much faster than creating individual screen shots of every page, but my client is requesting that the PDF doesn't include web/hyperlinks.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Acrobat Pro 9 not converting all images

Running Pro 9 that's been updated to 9.4.5.  When trying to convert a web page (our newsletter) to a pdf all the images are not showing up.  The images that do show up are older (ie:  images that are always in the newsletter).  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat.  Every month I convert the newsletter and this is the first time this has happened.
Any thoughts appreciated!  I was able to open the html in word and print to Adobe to convert it, but need to resolve this issue.
    Thanks!
    Lynn

Viewed the webpage via 3 separate computers.
    XP-MSIE 8, Vista-MSIE 8, & Vista-MSIE 8.
Only a few images display. Use of "show picture" does not retrieve the images that do not display.
Pulling the actual URI to the taget images and running them from the browser address bar fetches no image (using each of the computers).
    (e.g., http://www.parrottoyangels.com/newsletter/fantastic_rpb.jpg )
Just the red "x" - typically, this is symptomatic of one thing - the target file (the *.jpg) is not present were the link path goes.
n.b., web capture does not travel via the browser
    Web Capture using:
--| Acrobat 8 (8.30) — images present in output PDF.
(most of the images, in the PDF, have a black background that obscures the desired image - may want to redo the photos).
    --| Acrobat 9 (9.4.5) — no images, just the "?"
    --| Acrobat X (10.1.0) — no images, just the "?"
The images that do display on the webpage:

  • How would you convert ToC links to cross references?

    Hello gang,
InDesign CS6 can export to ePub, and can support the exporting of one ToC to ePub hyperlinks, but cannot support two. Is there a script or plug-in that you know of that can take a second or third selected ToC generated, and convert its links to cross-references, so that more than one ToC can result in an html-based link once we export to ePub?
    Many thanks for any pointers,
    Mike Witherell in Maryland

    Hi Ariel,
Can you let me know if your script could be useful to me? Here's my situation:
I have a ~250 page document with a lot of named cross references.
I want to generate a formatted list at the end of the document of all these cross references, in the order they appear in the text, in a format like this:
P<page no>, <name of reference>: Note about this cross reference.
(where the <page no> and <name of reference> are drawn from the text anchor in the main text of the document, and the note about the reference is manually typed in to the reference list.)
Any thoughts appreciated! I have a decent handle on Javascript in a web development context but haven't used it to script InDesign before.
    Thanks
    Pat

  • Can Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Convert File Hyperlink From Word to PDF?

Is there any method to convert file link (eg. C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\My Documents\xx.xls) from Word 2000? I have read many related issues, but seems cannot get the final answer. Many of them only mention about URL hyperlink (eg. www.yahoo.com). Can anyone help?

Do you mean that  Office XP and later version can automatically convert the file link? No need to manually create the link in Acrobat using the link tool?
I will work this out to see whether ok or not.
By the way, thank you, Michael Kazlow.

  • Cannot convert webpage

Hello:  I have been working with Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 and Windows 7 Ultimate.  Starting from the past two days, I am not able to convert webpages to PDF.  I get the message “Could not access acrobat's Web capture facility.  Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input”
I have read the post “RE: Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 - Error creating PDF from web page” from Jan 17, 2010, and run “a repair on Acrobat installation” as suggested, but still did not work.  I also tried uninstalling the program “completely” and reinstalling it, but this still did not work.
I would like to get assistance in fixing this problem, because it is a very important feature form me when using Acrobat.
Thank you in advance for all your help!!!

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I continued trying to resolve my problem with Web pages conversion and found the following list through my system cleaning program.  Please note that there are Two (2) entries for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and one entry for Adobe Acrobat 9.5.2 – CPSID_83708.
There are also two (2) entries for Adobe Update Manager CS4, which I tried to uninstall as a test, before attempting doing it with Acrobat.  Both attempts (highlighted on each picture) are shown on these pictures.
Do these give you any ideas on what I should do?
Thank you for all your assistance

    Hi da522811,
Are you still having trouble converting files? It sounds as though you may be trying to convert via Reader, is that correct? If so, please try logging out, and then logging back in. You may need to log out via the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com if you don't have access to the Sign Out button in Reader.
Please let us know how it goes.
